Perfectly cooked : 2 eggs over easy with hash browns. The cilantro on top was a unique addition. So delicious! I finished my plate by dipping the buttered toast in the perfect yolks. I wish I could ask them how they make the eggs like that. Next time. Some of the potatoes were crispy, just how I love them. The service was wonderful and quick. I noticed the cute old fashioned stools at the counter. It was worth it to walk a few extra blocks. Sorry for repeating the word perfect, but it's the only word to describe that breakfast. We've lived in the neighborhood for more than 20 years and hadn't been to the diner in a while. The owner or manager looked right at us multiple times, but never approached our table, in fact no one did. We watched the owner or manager engage in a friendly manner with another customer who came in after us. We watched other staff engage with other customers too. Impressive diner fare, only thing not impressive is the fact they are not open 24 hours. I stopped by here on the suggestion from a coworker, and I was in the area during lunchtime. They do a brunch special that includes a drink and a fruit salad, for a select few menu items. Craving French toast, I got that. It came with sausage, bacon, ham, and two eggs cooked how you want them. I also got myself an Elvis milkshake, which basically is a peanut butter and chocolate shake with some banana infused into it. The milkshake is amazing, worth the $8. It is a good size, and it is rich and creamy. The food I got is good too. It is basic, but it is amazing how many diners screw up a good French toast, or even a breakfast altogether. The staff is friendly too. They are honest and see to it that everybody is having a good time and enjoying their meal. Between this and Pegasus, Bay Ridge has two solid brunch options on the weekends. read more

Fellow Yelpers; I'd like to mention an awful experience at this Diner' Recently, I had placed an order that was delivered. However, I never expected to receive tainted Rice Pudding! I've order from the above place of business many times before. Nevertheless, I was surprised that the restaurant would sell a old and rancid food item. When I opened the container there was a slight smell and I should have been quite suspicious. Needless to say, I tasted it and after two spoonful it was sour and chunky. I immediately felt a lite nausea. I decided to call the merchant, and have him refund part of the order. In any apcase, he was nasty and condensing . He said finally he'd credit my card. This place has really fallen off. Most times it's not open the time it says it's suppose to be open. I've come by here at 9am and the lights are out. The service is also terrible, takes forever to get your food out and the waitstaff couldn't care less. Just unbelievable how a place like this stays open when there's such blatant disregard for the basic stuff. read more

Placed an online order for 2 turkey burger deluxes, both with fried onions (extra fee) on top and one with onion rings and the other with French fries. Was very disappointed to discover that both burgers were missing fried onions and they gave both burgers onion rings. By the time we opened our bag, the diner was closed so no time to remedy the situation. Called the diner today and spoke to the manager. He told me that he didn't know how to get a refund for me but offered to "take care of me" the next time I ordered. When I asked him to clarify, he said that if we ordered the same thing, he would throw in a free salad. And that the salad would be worth more than the fried onions. Umm, common sense would be to at least offer a free burger if I paid for another seeing as how both of our burgers were incorrect. I'll pass and never order from here again. read more

I will tell you that this place has a diner feel to it as it says by the name. The staff seemed in chaos with getting some orders prepared. I ordered their salad, buffalo honey wings, and one of their pastas which was great. I tried one of their smoothies as well which wasn't anything to die for. Ok, the biggest part of the experience when eating out is service. Well, service is something that is completely lacking in this place. Once you get a coffee and your food, don't expect a check back to see if everything is good. It doesn't happen. If you get up and try to ask for what you need, you're made to feel like it's a bother. I can't see treating your customers this way. I've been there three times because the food is good, but I won't go back now. Service is horrible. I had to ask the delivery kid for another cup of coffee. I should have given him the tip too. Good food, horrible service. If you want to have a better experience, there's a better diner a couple of blocks down. Go there. Do yourself a favor. Unless you like terrible service. read more

Exactly what a diner should be. Quick, friendly service and cheap, delicious food! Came here to meet a friend and grab some breakfast. There is plenty of counter seating and booths. Our waiter was great and constantly kept our coffee cups filled. It was fairly empty in here but at no point were we rushed out. We are lucky to have three waitresses who have worked there for over ten years and provide great service. The food always coms out hot, with great portions, along with an endless pot of coffee. I've eaten here a few times, solid food. Diner breakfast is a no brainer, very good. Prompt coffee refills, never that feeling of being pushed out. The salads are huge, even the 'small' sized ones. I'll get a large, and get 2 eats off it. They have Avgolemono, greek lemon chicken soup which is pretty awesome. Bay Ridge Diner has a nice big menu and nice big portions. I've been there a few times now, and they've never been over crowded. The service is always fast and the restaurant always has fresh muffins on the counter. One of the things that I miss about New Jersey is the diners. Bay Ridge has a lot of diners and this one isn't my FAVORITE but it's the closest one to my house and it makes me happy that it has that little town vibe when you come in. Today we ate a late lunch there with one of our Bay Ridge friends (it was also the first time she'd been there). I had the portobello mushroom wrap ($8.95), my husband had the Los Angeles grilled chicken deluxe sandwich ($10.95), and our friend had a small Greek salad ($7.95). My husband & I each also paid $1 extra to substitute sweet potato fries for the French fries, and those were probably the best sweet potato fries we've ever eaten; they were like a dessert. The size of all three meals was generous and the food was *delicious*. We arrived at 1:50 p.m. and the place was full (it's mostly booth seating, with a few tables - and it's not a real large place), but we only had to wait for about ten minutes. Our server was somewhat perfunctory, but the busboy was attentive. Also, the couple at the counter (who I think are the owners) were very friendly and we had a nice conversation with them afterwards. And, a friendly young guy answered the phone when I'd called to ask about their hours. The diner has an "A" rating from the Health Department and the restroom was clean. read more

Bay Ridge Diner is my aunt's local go-to place to eat. I was a skeptical when we walked in, but everyone really enjoyed their meal. The staff was very friendly, too. The rest of my party ordered breakfast, but since I wanted to eat something vegan, I went straight to the list of salads. The menu is huge, so it may take a while to look through everything. I chose the Grilled Portobello Mushroom Salad. They definitely don't skimp on the mushrooms, and they gave me extra dressing, just in case. The salad had good flavor and was filling. There seemed to be a lot of regulars when we were there, so it must be the place to go in Bay Ridge. read more

A really great Brunch menu pretty much means automatic success in New York. They have a fairly decent one--$13 for an entree, fruit salad, choice of juice/drink and unlimited tea & coffee. At this point, you can't go wrong with a Bellini; perfect way to top the morning! ;) The entrees are pretty standard here, nothing amazing. I recommend the Benedict Florentine--they pull off Hollandaise sauce pretty well! Do not really recommend the Turkey Sausage here, it didn't taste right and was rather chewy. I've passed this place a few times but never stopped by and I'm glad I finally have it a chance! It's basic diner food done well. The wait can be a bit long (I went on a Sunday at noon) but the service was friendly. We got the steak and eggs brunch special, which came with a drink and tea, and corned beef hash with eggs over easy. Both were very good and the portions were big enough to get you full. Such a great little diner! The word "diner" has the ability to catch my eye from almost any distance, so of course, I had to stop in and get my "diner" fix for the week. Randomly came across this place after seeing a movie at the theater down the street. Typical diner food, nothing too special. If I could put 0 stars I would. I ordered delivery and as per usual I would always get 2 eggs over easy with sausage and home Fries, I've never had an issue until this point. I literally only received 1 sausage with my order and more potatoes than anything else. When I got my other orders I purchased similar but replaced the sausage with bacon & French fries. It looked like they sent the leftovers from someone's plate. To add insult to injury the eggs were runny and there was a plastic object in my pancakes. I called the manager who goes by the name of "mike" who told me I needed to purchase the meat separate from my eggs which were $10 a pop- he was rude obnoxious & downright unprofessional. If I were you, don't go here. It's a ripoff & definitely not worth it.
