I'm in love with this place. Upon entering you will immediately notice the open air feel that allows for a cooling airflow and magical soothing ambience. You can choose to sit at the bar, an assortment of long benches and seat setups or make your way outside to the courtyard for a more intimate setup. I can imagine good first dates here. Now let's get to the drinks. They definitely are made well and balanced to perfection .. As for the food you can tell an enormous amount of effort has been put into curating an shocking explosion of flavor in your mouth. Not too salty, nothing unseasoned or overly so, you will find yourself thinking you've traveled worlds as you gobble up whatever you purchase here. The wait in line to order can be a bit arduous, but at least you get intimate with the selections; 3. Other rude kunts will put belongings at table to "reserve" while they're on line, so you should definitely follow suit if you'd like to sit, especially in the garden; 4. You serve yourself and pick up cutlery from a communal service station (one that everyone and their mammy is breathing over and touching - Yuckk), and the water is lukewarm; 5. If you want a drink, you then have to visit the bar to start another tab, then scurry back to your table with drinks in-hand; 6. Wait a hella long time for the food to come out; 7. Discover your duck and deviled eggs are way too salty, but the greens, cauliflower, mac & cheese, pickled cabbage and hummus are pretty good; 8. Bus your table; 9. Thank the gods it was a relatively cool night, cuz they have no air conditioning; and 10. Pray the staff are compensated well, cuz the formula they have going on cuts out a lot of expense, and it would be nice to know the employees are beneficiaries of that. We hit up Risbo recently on our way to a concert at King's Theatre... so it was all about location for us that evening. In other words, we stumbled up on this place more or less. And we're glad we we did because Risbo really such a cool place. Who knew?!? The other cool thing about Risbo is that it has a bar inside!! You might be thinking: Wait, lots of restaurants have bars inside. Yes, that is true... but I don't often see bars inside fast casual restaurants. So you can come for a drink and to hang out... and then hit up the food line when you're ready to eat. It's kinda like a combo hang out / eat spot! Speaking of food, it's all really good. We tried both the chicken and pork with a few different sides. I think the portions could be a little larger (for the price), but everything really tasted great. I've been looking for a new apartment, and this is a cute little spot in the neighborhood I've been looking in. My dad had found it online, and upon entering, I thought it was adorable. There's large tables for communal seating, and an adorable outdoor garden with cushions on the floor. It has a very homey vibe. The staff is very friendly, though, so once we brought it to their attention that we were still waiting, they fixed it right away, and our food came out soon after. risbo is a popular french restaurant located near prospect park. i've passed by this location on many occasions, and it's always super busy inside. the first time i went, it took a long time to get my food, there was a mistake with my order, and they were out of meat, which was frustrating. however, on a different occasion, i ordered the food for delivery. the food was pretty good. i tried the whatever platter, and the chicken portion was large, flavored well, and had a nice sear and spice on the outside. the mashed potatoes were creamy and had a perfect texture. the greens on the side were a bit bitter; i think they are seasonal, so there's no guarantee as to what they will be. overall, it was a solid meal. also, inside the restaurant, there's indoor and outdoor seating. however, it's super difficult to get a seat when they're busy, so i'd just plan ahead for that. read more

I love this place! The vibe is great the food is great (a little pricey but very yummy) I find the aesthetic beautiful... it feels like an oasis. BUT it's super super understaffed and the wait to order and the wait for food can be crushing--even when there's almost nobody there. I went with a friend and we ordered right after one another. My food (it's all pre-made) came 25 minutes after hers and I had to complain twice. Things like that have happened multiple times. My recommendation is to order takeaway on an app (online orders are clearly prioritized and SUPER fast) and just stay there and eat it. It's seat yourself anyway and nobody will say anything. The person taking orders is often also making all or most of the coffee drinks, so you can stand there for 10 minutes waiting to order and then once you do order the coffee takes between 10-30 minutes to come. It's also not the best coffee (it's solid tho). If you want an espresso drink, I'd suggest bringing coffee in from elsewhere. The plus is, once you sit, it's very peaceful and the patio is heavenly and the food is always yummy and the staff are all really cool. Most of the seating is benches or tiny stools. There's barely an attempt at decor. There is a back yard, with some potted plants and otherwise little thought put toward it. I wish the pita was a bit more soft. But the lamb was so tender, well seasoned and flavorful. The shashuka was also delicious. Portions were okay, but wish it was bigger. Overall, food was delicious. I would like to come back for their dinner menu. Staff were also friendly. The chef (I assume is also the owner) was super nice and helped with the high chair. Wow this place is simple but so good and it feels super healthy too! I highly recommend their Risbo platter (all the proteins are good but I think chicken is the best). The chicken was super juicy and the jus drizzled over is bursting with concentrated chicken flavor, I never knew chicken can be so flavourful. The other banger in the platter is the rice. Super well seasoned and perfect chew. It is placed next to the beets, so it lended a bit of sweetness which was nice (huge fan of sweet and savory). I will say however that the seasoning and texture on the rice can be inconsistent, but the visit that had the best quality was really good. Especially with the chicken over rice. The sauces with the rice and chicken are super good as well. For instance the aioli and I highly recommend the chili oil as well (it's like Lao gan ma, which is so good over rice) The hummus, plantains and red cabbage are such great sides as well, refreshing and a nice balance to the richer proteins. This is a cute place on Flatbush that I've unknowingly passed by numerous times. The menu seemed fairly fresh and healthy so we stopped in. The price of the food doesn't match the counter service imo. For two of us to get entrees and and a ginger drink was nearly $80. I got the platter with a whole branzino fish that was about $36 if I remember correctly. The fish was yummy and the sides were unique but not as good. My friend got the same but with lamb. The lamb was a suuuuuper small portion and not that tasty. Wouldn't recommend. The hunger drink was refreshing and just spicy enough.
