    Roasted Leg of Lamb Platter

I'm in love with this place. Upon entering you will immediately notice the open air feel that allows for a cooling airflow and magical soothing ambience. You can choose to sit at the bar, an assortment of long benches and seat setups or make your way outside to the courtyard for a more intimate setup. I can imagine good first dates here. Now let's get to the drinks. They definitely are made well and balanced to perfection .. As for the food you can tell an enormous amount of effort has been put into curating an shocking explosion of flavor in your mouth. Not too salty, nothing unseasoned or overly so, you will find yourself thinking you've traveled worlds as you gobble up whatever you purchase here. I will say depending on when you go there will be a wait time but it's more than worth it. I'm even thinking of having a birthday dinner here. I will return again!

A friend recommended Risbo when in the area. We got there right at opening. The decor is beautiful and simple. I loved the paintings. It's definitely casual in that you pay at the counter and go grab your food. There is communal seating and some tables in the back. On a pretty weather day there's seating outside in the back. The food, absolutely delicious. The chicken is savory. The mash potato was yum. My friend had a beet/ blueberry side woww it was delicious. For someone that is picky with vegetables I ate all of mine. The hummus and pita was so good! We all loved our food The juice was refreshing. I had the remedy which is the ginger and hibiscus mix. Service was quick and kind. I would come back and try other meats.

I've been looking for a new apartment, and this is a cute little spot in the neighborhood I've been looking in. My dad had found it online, and upon entering, I thought it was adorable. There's large tables for communal seating, and an adorable outdoor garden with cushions on the floor. It has a very homey vibe. You order and pick up your food at the counter, but unfortunately the service was a bit slow. The staff is very friendly, though, so once we brought it to their attention that we were still waiting, they fixed it right away, and our food came out soon after. I got the vegan pulled pork, which instead of pork, used seitan. It came with a side of spicy cabbage slaw. Even with the wait, it was absolutely delicious. So much flavor in one meal! I'll definitely be back- and hopefully next time, this'll be my new neighborhood.

risbo is a popular french restaurant located near prospect park. i've passed by this location on many occasions, and it's always super busy inside. the first time i went, it took a long time to get my food, there was a mistake with my order, and they were out of meat, which was frustrating. however, on a different occasion, i ordered the food for delivery. the food was pretty good. i tried the whatever platter, and the chicken portion was large, flavored well, and had a nice sear and spice on the outside. the mashed potatoes were creamy and had a perfect texture. the greens on the side were a bit bitter; i think they are seasonal, so there's no guarantee as to what they will be. overall, it was a solid meal. also, inside the restaurant, there's indoor and outdoor seating. however, it's super difficult to get a seat when they're busy, so i'd just plan ahead for that.

Oh my gosh I've returned and will not stop raving about the food here. Walked to Risbo after hitting up the Bath house down the street. What a wonderful end to the night. The new-to-us items this time: the chicken, the cobbler, and the Beets w/ blueberries. The chicken has to be my new favorite - super flavorful and juicy. Returning stars this time: the roasted lamb, the sautéed greens and the mac & cheese. Pls try the mac & cheese. Service is always great, they recommended the seasonal drink, it was a type of rum punch. DELICIOUS. A great date night spot.

Risbo is a really great cafe and restaurant that I keep coming back to. First, the space is really lovely. The lighting filters in from outside and there are lots of plants to look at while you're spending time there. Second, the food is really great, I've tried the soup and avocado toast so far and have really liked both. My friend got the vegetarian sandwich and I think I'll order that next time. They have a pretty varied menu and I am looking forward to trying more of it.

It wasn't just a meal, it was an experience. I left full, happy, and honestly a little emotional. I'll be back. No question. Every single bite on that plate was intentional: the creamy hummus, the spicy harissa, the tangy pickled cabbage, the perfectly seasoned rice... it all came together like a flavor symphony. Nothing was bland. Nothing was basic. As someone from the Caribbean, I'm used to bold, rich, unforgettable flavors, but this? This was next level. The ambiance is set to make it like home. And the service is top quality.

Back again for brunch and it did not disappoint! You order at the counter and bus your own table, but the vibe is laid-back with great music. The lamb hash was insanely tender and flavorful, and the roasted chicken is a must get. My boyfriend loved his baked eggs and lamb sausage too. It might take a minute for the food, but trust me--it's so worth the wait!

Great casual French restaurant in the PLG neighborhood. Cool spot for summer brunch or dinner with an open kitchen concept, spacious dining tables, and a pretty outdoor dining area. Risbo is open on the weekends only for brunch and dinner after 5. This spot is casual. You order and pick up your order at the counter when your food is ready. You can sit anywhere. I came on a Saturday afternoon for brunch. Ordered the lamb hash, Ojja morguez, which is basically a shashuka, and a side of hummus. The dishes came with pita bread. I wish the pita was a bit more soft. But the lamb was so tender, well seasoned and flavorful. The shashuka was also delicious. Portions were okay, but wish it was bigger. Overall, food was delicious. I would like to come back for their dinner menu. Staff were also friendly. The chef (I assume is also the owner) was super nice and helped with the high chair. Only reason I took a star off was that the barista forgot our coffee. We waited pretty long for it and it never came so we finally had to go ask for it.

I came here for lunch on a Friday - I was disappointed since I had heard so many great things about their brunch menu BUT STILL I RISE! I opted for the RISBO egg sandwich with bacon and a side of potatoes. The sandwich was delicious! I love whatever sauce they had on top. The potatoes were filling and flavorful. It was nice to see the chef making everything fresh. I also tried their HUGE chocolate chip cookies - great size to share - they were great and not too sweet! I cannot wait to come back again to try their brunch menu.

    Ask the Community - Risbo

    Is it Pet friendly (dog)?

Not sure didn't see a sign or anyone with a pet.

Was there once and noticed lots of charge stations. Is this place work-station Friendly? Or would that be weird to have my laptop put as I enjoyed my dinner slowly ( for 2+ hours)?

Yes, it would be weird. The place is always loud and designed for ppl to communicate with each other. Also, they are only open from 5-11/12 which would take away from a café vibe.

    Do they have highchairs available?

    Yep! They do : )

    Does Risbo do take out?

Yes, you can order food to go.

TL;DR version- Some high highs and some very low lows. Hot Figs was a fun app. By a mile, the soups…read morewere the favorites, so I would recommend the Pepián or Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo. Nice happy hour and a large chocolate drink selection I was at this unique Guatemalan (ish) restaurant a while back with one of my groups. I said "ish" because the menu has dishes from all over, ranging from sandwiches to BBQ ribs to Guatemalan and Mexican soups. It's out there, and even though not everything works that well, it's fun, and if you can't find something you want to order here, you probably shouldn't go out to restaurants. There was also live jazz music that night, which was loud but nice to listen to. Since it was happy hour, a bunch of us got drinks. I went with a maracuya margarita, which was decent; someone else had a jalapeño margarita, someone had a beer, and someone had a mojito. There were a few nice hot sauces on the table, with the red one reminding me of salsa macha as it had a smoky kick and a spicier green sauce reminiscent of ají verde. They gave us some complimentary blue corn chips and a very mild black bean dip, which was tasty enough and hard to complain about, as it was free. From the appetizers, we got the Hot Figs for $15.95, consisting of honey goat cheese, corn tortilla chips, and plum + pumpkin seeds. This was a unique and fun blend and reminded me more of something you would find in a wine bar. The mix of sweet and salty, with a bit of crunch from the seeds, was nice. This was good, and I would recommend it for a table rather than for a solo diner. There was also The Zingy Salad for $21.95, featuring zucchini spirals, yuzu, tomato, onion, cilantro, pumpkin seeds, and a jalapeño infusion. $18.95. The salad was fine with a bit of crunch and a mild spiciness. It was fine, though a bit wet, for lack of a better word. The best dishes of the night were the soups, which each had its own distinct flavor profile. My sight presence went to the Pepián for $21.95, consisting of chicken, pumpkin/sesame seeds, green tomatillo, cinnamon, cumin, black pepper, carrots, chili coban/pasta/guaque, and potato + rice. There was plenty of tender chicken inside, with the soup having a nice roasted flavor with some spice and a bit of sourness. The potatoes and rice on the bottom added more sustenance to this dish. Almost equally delicious was the Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo for a dollar more with shredded chicken, tomato, black pepper, garlic, onions, peas, chickpeas, corn, achiote, chipotle, Monterey jack cheese, and crunchy blue corn tortilla chips. By comparison, this was a bit heartier, with the melted cheese and shredded tortilla chips inside, similar to soups found in Mexican cuisine. While I also liked the mix of veggies a bit more in this one, as it added a bit more texture, I still slightly preferred the flavor of the other soup, as I usually prefer a bit more spice. The rest of the food was fine. The TPC sandwich for $19.95 with chicken, peanut butter, coconut cream, ginger, cilantro, pickled carrots, and lime was fine. For the number of ingredients, I found it a bit sweet, likely from the cream and the peanut butter mix. The bread was nice, but it also fell apart. It came with a nice side salad with a good vinaigrette. The most expensive at $24.95 were the Slow Cooked BBQ Ribs, consisting of baby back ribs with rice and beans. The ribs were almost a bit too tender as they lacked any bite, which was nice, but the sauce was a bit too generic tasting, reminding me of Sweet Baby Ray's or something similar. The rice and beans were standard. This was also OK. Next came some dessert. There was first the $12.95 Rosemary Churros served with dulce de leche & chocolate dips. While I'm not sure if it worked, the rosemary did add a unique smell and a bit of flavor, and at least it wasn't generic. The churros themselves were hot, and the sauces were standard, with my preference being the dulce de leche. I also ordered a Champurrado for $7.95, which was fine. It wasn't as thick as I expected, though perhaps the style is a bit different than the champurrados I rarely buy from Mexican street carts. The chocolate flavor was very nice, though, and I like that it wasn't too sweet. Another person got a $4 Alfajor, which I got a bite of, which was standard. This place is a bit hard to rate. The two soups were wonderful, I liked the appetizers, and I found a couple of the other dishes just OK. Overall, it was a good meal, but I'm not craving to go back. This would be the perfect 3.5, but I'll round up as that doesn't exist.

It was good overall but it could have used a little more salt. I also tried the matcha latte (which tasted a bit too milky) and I had to add extra sweetener, so I'd probably try a different drink next time. The pastries, especially the apple strudel and Boston cream donut, were both really good. Highly recommend the apple strudel.
