    Breakfast sandwich with bacon
    Yvonne D.

Stopped by this spot in the neighborhood for breakfast and sat at the bar since all the tables were reserved. Cute spot with lots of sunlight and plants. The breakfast sandwich was solid, but next time I'll try the lamb sausage--it looked amazing. The hot chocolate was tasty but disappointingly cold. Overall, a nice spot with great friendly service!

Looking for brekky? Yeah, this place is it. Came here on a whim while it was down pouring rain and... left with a smile. I got a simple breakfast platter. Is that the name of it? Nope. But it had lamb sausage patties (these were the star), two eggs, sweet potatoes, and sourdough. What more could you want?

Cute ambiance, baby friendly, and yummy food! We were seated quickly at the bar without a reservation. Our server was friendly and efficient, and with a baby it was nice to get out for a quick brunch so efficiency was super helpful! Will come again :)

Morning bun, chocolate croissant - The image shows a breakfast setting with a beige table holding two pastries: a cinnamon roll and a croissant, accompanied by a cup of black coffee, a glass of water, and various tableware including forks, knives, and plates. There is also a small jar of sugar and a cup with a saucer, suggesting a cafe environment.

I love both otway and the bakery! The egg sandwich was absolutely delicious (the scallion aiolii) and ofc the pastries were perfect. The ambience inside is cute and friendly. A simple menu, wonderful for a calm breakfast.

Gimlet and martini - The image shows two cocktails on a table, one with a greenish liquid in a coupe glass and the other with a clear liquid garnished with three black olives on a skewer. A lit candle in a small holder is positioned behind the drinks, creating a warm ambiance. A menu is partially visible underneath the drinks, and the setting appears to be a dimly lit bar or restaurant.

Came here on a Friday night with a friend for Happy Hour. I had a martini and my friend had a gimlet. Cocktails and wine are $11. Great French fries. The staff were very friendly! On this cold winter is evening, the place was cozy, warm and inviting! I would come back here.

A close-up of cucumber slices garnished with sesame seeds and fresh herbs, arranged on a white plate. The cucumbers appear crisp and fresh, with some orange sauce or dressing visible. The presentation suggests a light, healthy dish, possibly an appetizer or side in a restaurant setting.

Yummy food and beautiful interiors with lots of plants and light. The cheeses, jam, oysters, trout and cucumber were all fresh and refreshing. Great date spot with happy hour.

Stumbled upon Otway on a Saturday around brunch time and decided to stop for a bite, as there were plenty of available tables. I ordered the deluxe breakfast with bacon and it was tasty -- the bacon and the crispy potatoes were particularly amazing. However, I did find the all-day food menu to be a little limited. This place seems to shine for its pastries and drinks, neither of which I tried on this visit. But with $10 glasses of natural wine and great deals on happy hour cocktails, I'll definitely need to come back.

I really wanted to love and support Otway. When I ate there, the presentation and facade is so wonderful, but unfortunately the service and treatment of customers is deeply disappointing. I spent a couple hundred dollars supporting their Kickstarter campaign to launch. The promised thank you was a brunch for 4. I never received the brunch, so I reached out to Otway by phone and email. After a few emails, I was told certificates were mailed out. I said I have not received mine, but since then I have not received any response despite multiple emails and calls. I would be happy to update this once rectified, but in my eyes, any restaurant that is so disrespectful to its initial backers deserves a poor review.

Isn't that just the yummiest egg sandwich you ever did see??? (Spoiler alert: YES) - A close-up of a breakfast sandwich with scrambled eggs, lettuce, and melted cheese inside a toasted bun. The sandwich is partially wrapped in foil, and the background includes a glass vase with flowers, a coffee mug, and a small plant. The setting appears to be a casual dining area or cafe.

Otway is a sweet, small-ish eatery that I definitely plan to return to! Absolutely agree with the rating of "best egg sandwich in NYC." The English muffin it came on -- whether homemade by them or by a supplier -- was one of the best I've ever had. Eggs were delicious and I had avocado added to it. Just perfect! Also want to give a shout out to the folks who work there -- super nice and helpful. Looking forward to heading back and trying other stuff. Definitely recommend making a reservation if you want to get in!

Table - A round cafe table features a coffee cup with a saucer, a cinnamon roll on a white plate, a glass water bottle, two small glasses of water, and a jar of ketchup. The setting is inside a cafe with natural light coming through large windows, revealing bar stools and a counter with shelves and bottles in the background. The interior includes a mix of wooden furniture and potted plants, creating a cozy atmosphere.

I don't know what wizardry made these scrambled eggs so good but they were amazing, as was the morning bun and the potatoes! Service was great and it is so cute inside with lots of plants.

Fantastic brunch with a beautiful ambiance. Had a great time catching up with friends here and the brunch items were very simple but elevated in flavor. The matcha latte had a pristine texture along with good coffee! I got the egg sandwich with a side of crispy potato, my party got the otway burger, eggs with crispy potato and a side / lamb mergeuz sausage and avocado. The fries were done really well and I must say the "crispy potato" side is not just 1 potato, it's the whole bowl of home fries! My eggs were done very fluffy to perfection and the cheese added the perfect creaminess to it. The lamb mergeuz patty was delicious and the bread was handmade and tasted so fresh and good. A perfect egg sandwich. My party also had very soft and fluffy eggs all cooked to perfection and the potatoes were all really good and better than most fries. The burger was super juicy and had really good flavor and honestly it was a picture perfect brunch both in taste and aesthetic. It was super filled up earlier but we ended up staying throughout the time and realized they actually close at 3/4 to prep for dinner time so that's one thing to note. Overall I can see why everyone comes here for Sunday brunch! It is THE best brunch spot in the neighborhood for eggs and toast :)

Everything on the menu looked amazing, so I had the waiter choose my dish/wine pairing and he did a great job! I got the pesto with shrimp. The pasta is handmade and the wine is natural from Italy. The pesto is made the day of in the morning. All fresh ingredients. They have indoor seating and then more seating in the back that is the perfect spot. I love the exposed brick wall. This might be my new favorite Italian spot. I will be back soon! Thank you for the amazing experience.

Instead of picking a wine from a menu, you tell your server the flavor and mood of wine you're looking for and they bring out glasses or a bottle for you based on that. The food here is delicious and I was happy to see gluten free pasta options. The pork ragu was good but I was truly impressed by how good the texture of the gluten free pasta was. For me, the show stopper was the branzino. It was seasoned perfectly and the potato crust was a fun touch. The salad was nice and simple, but didn't blow me away. Portion sizes were good, though the prices are on the higher side. The restaurant is a great place for a friends' night or date night, and I'd keep the group small or make a reservation in advanced because it gets busy. It is definitely a more expensive spot, but worth it!
