Going to Franklin Park as a twenty something year old a decade plus ago versus going more recently in my thirties has been such a remarkably different experience they might as well be different places. I will say the FP of the pre-pandemic era was a totally different vibe, with late nights fully erupting into huge dance parties. Also the gentrification of Crown Heights happened so intensely and swiftly over the last decade and it undoubtedly changed the rambunctious culture of the place, and I going recently I've mostly seen folks have a single beer and leave quietly, often even bringing strollers and kids in tow. As far as I know, the packed nights of Franklin Park are no more. What is good about FP now is that you can roll up with a big group and get in on the pool table, or sit in their backyard space without issue. They have a robust beer selection at fair prices, and people seem to like their burger. I can see from their recent reviews people really miss what this place once was. I think they still host trivia and movie night events, so there's still opportunity to foster community here and make it the hub it once was. read more

Came here for St. Patrick's Day with some friends. They love the beer here so we decided to join. I got a Captains Blood cocktail and it was good, def strong mezcal taste, followed by a classic margarita. The fries were the star of the show for me. I'm a sucker for crispy French fries and they did not disappoint! My wings were also good, they took them before I could finish or take them home, wasn't to happy bout that. & didn't adjust my check for the inconvenience. They do alil too good of a job with clearing the table... with little to no notice, almost like they want you to leave . The smash burger was sooo good. It's hard to find a good burger with all the toppings now a days. Other than that.. the vibes are cool to meet up with friends or lil date night. In the front by the sterling entrance there's a different vibe, alil more quiet. Be careful of going to this place if you're a person of color cuz the microaggressions are real! You can come in and sit for 15 mins without being acknowledged but then others who come before you who look nothing like u will get serviced and then they'll fake apologize like they didn't know what they did. This is the place you go when you want to have a beer while watching a game or maybe have a laid back date night. Food 4/5: The food is simple and mostly bar food but I have never been disappointed. The menu is not too limited and even had a fee holiday specials so would def go back to try a few more items Drinks: 4/5 : Overall its your standard bat menu with a good amt of cocktail options if you want to mix it up. I think the happy hour cant be beat with $10 drinks and less! This place was poppin' on a Friday evening, lol!! Friend and I just popped in for a few minutes because he wanted to show me what it was about. It's a rather interesting layout... The front front is this really chill looking cafe, but once you go past there the dynamic totally changes. It's this rather massive bar (gives youthful vibes) and then there's a huge outdoor area. They have a bunch of beers, and there was a DJ at the booth! I couldn't help but notice the pinball machines, and there was a TV showing some retro NES gameplay, and I was like "OOOH, who's playing and where??" Unfortunately after a while, I saw that it was just YouTube, because an ad popped up LOL. What a letdown, and there were actually no console games to play. I arrived at franklin park on a tuesday. The place was empty , the atmosphere was normal. I set by the window. The place look nice and clean it. The waiter came and brought a menu. There was a fly Over the window , did the booth where I was sitting... That's not the worst part , the worst part , was the burger. Nice little spot the music is loud. You can barely hear yourself talk. It's like a à la cart. Everything you have to get yourself like silverware forks so very upfront with the tip. I wish I would've known that I had to get my condiments, water, silverware first prior to the purpose of paying a tip for service that you're not getting also, you have to get up and get your own everything. Now they close that room until 6pm so your only option is to sit on the freezing back patio or the back bar section which reeks of booze and is loud af. This is for sure one of my favorite go too spots within Brooklyn, if you're looking for A great place to hang, catch up with friends or even drink with your person of interest This is the place to be. Oh so often I come here for the waffle fries and the mozzarella sticks, I'm literally addicted to them. If you're ever to stop by please give it a try but of course everything on the menu is pretty much delicious, the chef has not failed me yet. The staff is always welcoming and offer quick service, this time place is pretty much order your own food and drink by the bar and they'll give you a number to put on your table while you await your food. On Weekends they have waiters and waitresses for their brunch hours. This is a very affordable place, where you'll definitely get a bang for your buck. This place can get very busy some days, especially during the summer season. My only con is that they do not have Hennessy, other than that I'll always comeback here and bring friends with me. read more

The space did not.lack character. A red phone booth converted to a photo booth can be found inside,.supper cool. So I don't get a chance to come down to Brooklyn often but I was here with a buddy of mine and his brother who thrives in the area, he told me the burgers here were pretty fire and I wanted to believe him so badly but that promise proved to be false, what I got was a pretty dry patty loaded with sauce to cover the taste, maybe it was an off night maybe not but it wasn't the most amazing impression. This spot has a special place in my heart, as I've been here a handful of times for one thing: their monthly reading series! On the second Monday of every month, the space hosts up-and-coming authors. As a bonus, drinks are happy hour prices during the night, there's a free raffle for the authors' books and you're in community with other book lovers. I've slowly been trying different things off their menu and liked them all! Mushroom burger on a pretzel bun, impossible burger, truffle fries, sweet potato fries. Came here a few times about 5 years ago. Had the regular and turkey burger, both great. Stopped in tonight for the first time since then. They recommended their new and improved Turkey burger. It was delicious. The herb mayo complimented the sandwich and sweet potato fries very well. Fries were crispy. Juicy and flavorful especially for a turkey burger. It was about $30 after tip. To be fair since bare burger is around the same price (this beats it by a milestone) I'd say in this economy it's to be expected. Came on a Saturday night for some drinks around 10ish was decent ant of crowd as the hours passed it got more crowded. The music selection is not too wide, but passable if you're with the right crowd. The entrance is through the back of Dutch Boy Burger (which has some decent food options nothing over the top special). I liked the outdoor patio area with benches and tables (which also offers another bar in the cut) to chill on a good day. Drink prices are fair, however I did order a shot and def tasted watered down but I saw him pour it directly from the bottle that can be revisited. Franklin Park used to be my favorite place in NY. It had delicious food and great vibes. Their programming is great with happy hours, trivia and bingo among others. This place means a lot to me too, I met the love of my life here and we used to go back all the time... I feel like they've started to struggle. They have changed the menu a few times in the last year or so and every time they do it seems another one of my favorite items is taken off the menu (rip Hummus). That would be fine, there's always something good on the menu, but this year their health rating dropped to C and I'm not sure I'm comfortable eating here anymore. This really makes me sad, one of my favorite places turning into a place that makes me feel gross to eat at. Stumbled upon this beer garden while walking through Brooklyn with my sister. We were starving and all other local eateries were closed to switch out from lunch to dinner service. We absolutely loved the outdoor picnic style dining room. The menu looked good and there were so many great options. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich which came on a pretzel bun. It had this delicious avocado aioli and cabbage slaw. It was so crunchy and delicious! The Parmesan & garlic fries were just ok. The ginger ale tasted a little weak but it's fine. This is a smoker's paradise. I'm not a smoker. If you like the good old days of people smoking in your face then come here. Rude regular customers hang out with the kitchen staff by the big green no smoking signs in the courtyard and puff away right where all the non-smoking customers are seated, instead of walking a few feet to smoke in the street. Having been here at Franklin Park briefly one night for a acquaintance ' s "Welcome Home" Celebration, I thought that I was quite familiar with this establishment. No, I was definitely wrong!-lol. However, it was good that I worked at an office in the area today and went there for a late lunch. Franklin Park has an outdoor patio area that you come into contact with first. I walked through this space and then proceeded to open the door (make sure that you watch your step -lol). The bar is nearest to the front door,.then there is additional seating + dining tables. Standing there for a few minutes and being uncertain as to who to speak to/what to do,. I finally went and asked the bartender. He explained to me that I am welcome to sit wherever I want and the server will be with me shortly. Once, I got comfortable and glanced at the menu it was cool to see their $8.95 burger lunch specials that included french fries or a salad. Gabby is the great server that took my order, brought me my food and made sure that I had everything I needed. The Turkey Burger (I had mine with bacon) was cooked well and it tasted fresh. The French Fries were golden and crispy. It was a nice sized meal and boy was I feeling full!-lol.
