Love this place! My job had our meeting here and it was so dope! I loved this space. I took full advantage of the photo booth and games. Which was cute. We also noticed they had outdoor seating and a small space in the back where we were able to watch tv and chat more intimately. This space is great for dancing , eating and drinking. Yesterday I was at Franklin Park and I was very mistreated by one of their employees. It was uncalled-for and unacceptable. I stood in line for a while to put in my order while a group of girls in front of me was taking an excessive amount of time. I politely reminded them that the kitchen was about to close and there were still people in line. Then out of the blue I was violently yelled at by the bartender/manager saying I shouldn't rush her guests. She was aggressive and threatening. I asked her why she was being rude to simply be yelled at again and then be refused service! I'm very disappointed in Franklin Park and I expect this employee (a dark shoulder-length haired woman) to be confronted about this episode. She was also serving people without wearing a mask. You can't treat costumers like that nor should you refuse service for personal reasons. Something must be done! read more

After a long night of hanging with a large group of friends from HS-- one of my friends who lives nearby, suggested we come to continue the party. She frequents here often, and knows most of the staff. We arrived around 3AM, I thought this place was an apartment building, not an outdoor bar. Anyhow, most of my friends had previously been here, and I was one of the few who hadn't, my friend described the environment before we even arrived. There were some older men there, some people who were under the influence, but mostly young people. The outdoor area was rather crowded and some of us went inside, that was even worse. People dancing rather wildly-- it reminded me of when I was a teenager, and we would go to teen night. Kids were just so happy to be in a club atmosphere, they didn't know how to act. I would give this place a two, but as I waited for the bathroom (which was filthy) I noticed they had Marcel v. Capcom, I didn't play it, but that will get them moved up to a three star rating. read more

Which is my favorite drinking especially as I get older and I can't stand crowds. I like to drink and not fight with the crowds to get my drink on. And judging by the 2pm regulars who said and I quote "we are here all week"(insert instrumental comedian chime) ! I guess I neglected to mention they are also comedians. All kidding aside, I like it when a place has regulars. People need that home away from home and that says something about the bar. The bartender was chill. The bar back chick might have been off the clock updating all her social media...but who knows. As long as someone was giving us the air hockey pieces to play, I was fine. I don't ask for much. I have two instant favorite things about this bar. First thing - ALL DRAFTS are $4 for HAPPY HOUR !! And they include the percentage if you are short on time. Ha! I of course had to have the Lagunitas Lil' Sumpin IPA. A fave of mine. Second - Air Hockey! I had no idea I would get the competitive beast ripping it's way out to conquer my opponent. It was a thrill. And since, it was so early in the day. There was no one else to bother the game. There's also pinball machines, if air hockey is not your schtick. Been coming here for almost 3 years and it used to be an awesome spot. The ambiance is still chill and the outdoor space is a huge plus but the service and the food quality and menu options (even the beer selection) keep getting worse. I'm 0 for 3 on my last visits (messed up orders, stale hard fries, soggy burgers) and my initial review was that this was the best burger in town and the fries were awesome but that was a few years ago now. Wow, I've never had a bad time here until today and today is my tenth check-in. Mind you, i def don't check in to yelp every time I come here. The service was v bad and they weren't packed. No one paid attention to my party until I was seated for 15mins - that's when a busser walked by and I asked for a waiter and some water. I also noticed during this whole process two waitresses go back and forth about who would take our table, then the one very less enthused came and took our order. It's a nice bar to hang out in for awhile. There's a small arcade area for you drunkenly waste quarters at. The beer selection is not too special but it has all the pertinent beer types to satisfy most appetites and the prices are agreeable. Happy hour runs from 2-7 (5 on Fridays). They're also attached to Dutch Boy Burger so their burgers are attached to the happy hour menu as well. Listen - I love Franklin Park. Food is good from Dutch Boy and the patio is great. But some things are changing. Now you have to see a host to be seated outside, maybe this is best for during meal times as you'll actually have a server come to you quickly. Also, they now include 18%. tip in a 4 person table bill before you sign, then include an additional line for tip. Usual practice for tip included is 6people. I'm a person who almost always tips 20% and I definitely didn't notice this (my bad) so I ended up adding 20% in tip on top of the rest of the bill. Our server did not let us know that gratuity was included. This isn't illegal but it's a sneaky to not let people know you are including gratuity in the bill. Don't make the same mistake I did! Read every line of the receipt! Even if you've been having a good time with your friends because it's Franklin Park and it's gorgeous outside! read more

Ever since they changed the menu, I find this place isn't really worth going to anymore. They have some burgers and good (VEGAN!) shakes, but I loved their variety of appetizers (RIP nachos and fries) and food (RIP hot dogs). I'm disappointed because I would take EVERYONE here and they'd be so impressed. Now I'm not even impressed. The vibe is still cool. The service is a hit or miss. The drinks aren't that expensive. So glad my friend recommended this place. When I went it was a cool perfect summer evening to sit under the string lights with some good food, great drinks, and some quality conversation. I was very excited to see Crabbie's ginger beer on the menu so I ordered it. We also got the ripper, a fried hot dog wrapped in bacon topped with onions and kraut. Now maybe I'm just obsessed with cheese, but I felt I would've really enjoyed the ripper topped with some cheese, but I don't know that could just be me. I came here on a Friday on the earlier side (9-10ish) and there was a good crowd but still navigable. No noticeable music so easy to talk to friends. Appears to be smoking friendly (or maybe Juuls are just innocuous enough). They check IDs at the door. Beer seems to be the move here, and run pricey, with a few cheaper options in the mix. Largely mainstream craft, not much out of the ordinary. Well drinks and wine available. Bartenders get busy but are attentive and professional. There's no need to go out of the way for Franklin Park, but if you're looking for a place for a group hangout or to scout out the scene, this will do the trick. read more

I came here for a date night and for drinks and dancing. A great place where you can do both. Date Night was on a weekday, there was good music playing, the drinks were strong and their fries are GREAT!! I also had a burger which was awesome. There's also an area with arcade games and I believe a air hockey table. Friday Night was POPPING! I did not at all expect to see everyone dancing their asses off and having a blast. The DJ that night was spinning the best in hip hop, top 40 and reggae!! I have gone back a couple more times on the weekends and it's the same. Franklin Park has been a neighborhood staple for yearssss. Daytime: chill vibe, burgers are pleasant and they have a good happy hour. Nighttime: There's always a good mix of people, and everyone's trying to have fun so there will always be a memory. Turns into a dance floor inside, and there's a back bar that's also fun. Friday's and Saturday nights it can either be crowded or empty and you'll still have fun. The Dj plays inside and in the back whichever cool bartender is working will make sure the vibe is right too. As I sat nursing a Sixpoint, the dude from the coffee shop around the corner walked in, generously offering up the unsold pastries from the day. Now, I don't want you to come crying to me if this was a freak occurrence, and I just happen to be the luckiest man in the world...but at least once, there were free croissants to be had. And on the Big List of Awesome Stuff, free pastries is way up near the top. And I was perfectly content before that guy walked in, because Franklin Park just has a great vibe. The bartender is friendly, quick, and seemed to know the whole crowd, which is always a good sign. The beer selection is better than solid, and I can't wait until the weather's nicer, because the outdoor space looks dope. So I'll see you there when the warm weather hits. Unless you don't like to drink in the sun, in which case I think there's something the matter with you. Your friends probably don't even like you. not sure why this place doesnt have a higher rating. its a dive bar people, and its got lots of things to keep you occupied while you're there! so firstly, its connected to the burger place, so theres burgers and spiked milkshakes. #win right there. I would definitely recommend the spiked milkshakes and the hangover burgers. as you walk to the bar area, there's a middle ground where there are games to play. i mean, so fun! then theres a big bar area, for bigger parties and where the DJ sits. lots of wood and seating for larger parties. they have an open air space, where there are long benches and you can bring friends and family, and still manage to make new friends and friends who will be family when you sit there. and last but not least, they have a smaller more intimate bar with seating for 2-4 people at the back. So fab! The beers are interesting, they give you tastes so you can figure out what you like. wish they did tastings though, I would definitely pay like 10 bucks to try 5-8 beers. bartenders are super friendly, but I will say that the burger service is a little slow. Burgers are good though, so its ok that they take the time to make them :) One call out is the restrooms, guys please fix these. Im not being squeamish and maybe its your vibe to have graffiti all over the place but its not cool that it always looks trashed. Sip sip on some.....bk beer! So living in BK for my whole life and seeing the neighborhood change is somewhat bittersweet. Gentrification has had this beer garden pop up basically in a neighborhood known for its Kennedy fried chicken or Kansas fried chicken... or what ever fried chicken spot....w/ an occasional bullet flying by. Now we have this cute hangout area for all to enjoy... I must say is a nice addition to all the changes going on in the neighborhood. The prices are definitely reasonable and happy hour until 7pm is sweet. My one gripe would be that it's cash only... Does anyone always carry cash with them anymore??? Anywho, if you want to grab a drink or 2 w/ some friends and not pay a crazy amount come here... and not to worry you can still get your fried chicken down the block. read more

Franklin Park is a cool beer garden in an awesome neighborhood! The location is spacious and has a large amount of outdoor seating. My friend and I came on a Sunday afternoon. They showed multiple football games on the various tv screens and projectors. I ordered a burger with parmesan fries and hard cider. Very tasty, but was hard to enjoy bc of the flies flying around our food. I will definitely come back again. I heard Friday's are the best nights! read more

Sooo... not my first time in this establishment. Actually been here a few times before with no issues. Sadly, this time I had to get a bad server. The server, who I never got his name, just didn't seem to want to serve us. Attitudes, horrible wait times for drinks, and the forgetfulness of what was ordered. I ordered an extra drink and ask for a to go box since I didn't finish my wings. The wings and Parmesan, Cheese, and herb fried were really good! After twenty minutes of waiting, we had to ask another server for the box and up to now I still haven't received that drink. All and all, the service was bad for this outing, but like I said, it's never happened before! Two stars for the food... but lost points for the service! read more

Having been to Franklin Park once a few years ago, I was surprised to see it become such a raging weekend hangout. In the early part of the evening, it was rowdy without feeling too crowded, with some people sitting on the beer garden benches outside, and others opting for the indoor booths and tables. There is also a side room off to the right from the entrance for private parties, as well as a brighter eating areas further inside the place. I remembered this place having a really good selection of brewskies, so I was a little saddened to see a fairly pedestrian lineup of medium-distribution fall seasonals like Blue Point Pumpkin and Brooklyn-required Peak Organic (the fall ale is not bad, though). They do have a some $4 cans of Brooklyn Lager and Pork Slap, though, which is a nice cheap option. Word has it the burgers are pretty good but I didn't try and so won't vouch for them. After 10:30 or so the lights dimmed and the music was really thumping, and Franklin Park started transforming from a neighborhood beer den into a clubby dance party (albeit with not a whole lot of dancing; people seemed to be casting off their inhibitions rather languidly). Nothing wrong with that. There were a couple of people drunkenkly making out. I did like that there was a mix of ages AND races here, unlike the bars below Atlantic (you know the ones). Franklin Park is always going to be a good time. Sometimes better than others, but it's never a bad time. To start with, they have a variety of spaces, indoor, outdoor, indoor/outdoor. Great people watching too. They've got a great menu. Both at Franklin Park you can order food, or you can just walk through and go to Dutch Boys and order food there and get away for a bit before diving back into things. Their menu at Dutch Boys is really expansive, I like that they have a solid vegan section. The music at Franklin park is pretty good, I really just want more commitment to Afro Beats though. Staff is super friendly, and even fun to talk to the bouncers that are keeping an eye out making sure everything is safe and calm. Their drinks are ok, they aren't the best cocktail makers, gotta say. I appreciate that they have multiple bathrooms and games and a photo booth! A snapshot of my night and some inside knowledge: -Love the fact that there is no cover, and the bouncer is not a douche for no reason -No pat down for men - Young and old can mingle together, but beware of the grandpas trying to be hip -DJ knows how to jam old school, hip-hop r&b reggae etc. -All races- Asian, Black, White, Spanish - it was one of the most diverse crowds I have ever seen in a venue- bikers, hippies, ghetto fabulous, Caribbean people, a true melting point- This is the future! -Two bar areas and outside seating leaves a lot of room for mingling and drinking - $8 Jameson and coke - Dutch boy burger had closed the kitchen by 11pm so I went to the Chinese restaurant across the street. This used to be a great place under the previous management (When it was Dutch Boy). Unfortunately it has gone way down hill with regard to quality and service. Waited an hour for our order. When it arrived it was incomplete and wrong. It was like amateur hour with no one knowing exactly what was going on. There are a lot of good and great places in this neighborhood. Love the outdoor seating area - the only thingis (and there isnt a surprise there), is that you want to get there early (whatever time early is) or you wont find a seat outside. There's two seperate bars, which makes things totally convenient. Ive sat at the smaller bar and the service was pretty quick. its connected to the dutch boy burger join, which makes things more awesome because the burgers are to do die for. seriously. cant wait to frequent this spot more during the summer as this is my new neighborhood.. read more
