I ordered the crispy pork Pad Thai with a happy hour beer, and wow...SO good. The noodles were super flavorful, and the crispy pork belly was such a fun twist that you don't usually see on Thai menus. Honestly, obsessed. The service was quick and attentive even on a busy Friday night, which I always appreciate. The ambiance really sealed the deal, there was a DJ playing upbeat music, and it made the whole place feel lively, fun, and perfect for a Friday dinner out with friends. Ehh it was ok, I have not been here in years! I took my daughter because h was in town. We ordered the Thai buns with pork. Instead of using pork belly which is boneless they used slices pork. My disagree bit into it and a sharp bone was left on the meat. She but the inside of her gum. I asked for a manager and he never came. We waited 20 mins and I had to walk over and ask for him myself. He said he just arrived and I knew he was already there because I saw him earlier. Smh ‍ he apologized and made it right by taking off the food and gave us a gift card. That was really sweet but I still wanted to discuss my experience. The drinks had no alcohol you might as well say. Once we asked for a manager, our waitress never helped us again. It wasn't that the place was bad by any means, I think it just means that in relation to other Thai options that we've had, we've had much better. But, there were a lot of positives to the experience... We came in and were seated immediately on a Sunday early evening. Ambience is nice, but it was a little too dark where we were seated in the back by a bar that didn't seem to be in working condition. Service was very friendly and prompt. We received our food very quickly. The food is where it went down a little bit... we ordered a bunch of apps (calamari, spring rolls, curry puffs) were all solid. But, our entrees were just ok. My drunken noodles were just really not seasoned as I'm used to. The shrimp and squid were really tasteless and a bit overcooked. The noodles could've used a bit more "drunkenness". I went here for a first date a couple nights ago and it was just as i remembered. The service was a bit slow. We had to flag down a couple waiters at times to ask for napkins, to inquire about our drinks. The food came before the drinks which was very off putting. The waitress was nice, but she could've been a bit more attentive. We arrived around 8pm. The place was still pretty empty. It was very loud with the dj. Even sitting across from my date, it was hard to hear due to the blaring music. Which made trying to flag down a server a lot harder than it should've been. Now onto the food. The drinks were good and strong. The food was good. A bit spicy which is normal for drunken noodles. The steamed buns were also pretty good with the pork. My date didn't really eat much of his fried rice because he said it had some spice to it as well. He ate maybe a couple spoonfuls and let them take it away. He did devour his crab ragoon tho. I've been too SEA a few times and each time my experience was different. The one thing that never changed is the ambiance. SEA has such beautiful decor and the layout is so nice. On this particular day the dj played a good mix of early 2000 r&b songs which took me back to a fun time! My friend and I were seated quickly and the place was pretty filled up. I ordered the whole fish in thai sauce and it was OK. I feel like the food is a hit or miss depending on what you order. The fish didnt really have seasoning except the sauce that was on the plate, which wasnt enough to give a strong flavor and it was kinda dry. My friend had drunken noodles and she said it was amazing! So maybe I just ordered the wrong meal for the day. The service was good and quick and the surrounding areas were clean. The only thing to be mindful of is the rest rooms. They were disgusting and smelled horrible. Its like portable stalls and you wash your hands outside. I had sautéed pineapple and ginger veggies with salmon for my entree which was very flavorful. I ordered coconut shrimp as my appetizer. I had to send it back because they were frozen. It remind me of shrimp in a box I get from the grocery store. The service could have been better. The waitress wasn't attentive and her attitude wasn't very inviting. The food was amazing both times I've come here once on a friend date and another time for a birthday party! I loved sitting next to the pond when my friend and I came. I was so happy when I asked to sit there that they had a spot open. The food was delicious. The staff were helpful and managed our birthday party properly. We had no complaints. The pork belly I added was also pretty flavorless and rubbery which was shocking because pork belly is usually always good. The picture makes it look really appetizing, but we both barely ate it because it was that bad. The server had a very hard time understanding simple requests, he also wasn't attentive at all. Unfortunately I went here with a friend with high hopes for the food and we both left very disappointed, not to mention the price points are pretty high. The food here never disappoints, but the service has gone down hill. I've been visiting Sea for about 20 years and the food remains consistent. But service, not so much. We had reservations to sit by the pool. We arrived 15 minutes early. One side of the pool was empty. On the other, they'd spaced the customers out so there was a table between them. There were 2 left. I asked to be seated on the other side, but was told that side was not open, so we opted to sit at a table not by the pool. Less than 10 minutes later, they sat a couple exactly where I asked to be seated. We also had to keep finding our server for things. Thai food is supposed to have color. Thai food is supposed to have spice. Thai food is supposed to be eaten with chopsticks if you so desire. Thai food is supposed to be full of character. This restaurant did not have much of that. The food is mostly colorless, with minimal spice, and absolutely no chopsticks to be found. The three things I ordered all that same dingy brown color to them. Nothing popped out. It all looked about the same, which is a shame because presentation is 1/3 of the battle when it comes to preparing food. The Tom Yum soup, while plentiful, was bland and boring. Normally I would finish the whole thing, but looking at the bowl it was like curry mixed with sawdust, and opted to leave it alone once I finished everything in it. The mushrooms did not look appealing at all. The Thai wings are okay, but the meat is a little dry and rubbery. The chili sauce is nice but messy, I went through many napkins eating these. To those who want to have a meal with me, I am a messy wing eater, but I know how to eat wings. I have family who went to college upstate in Buffalo, where the buffalo wing was born, so I know what I am doing with these. Trees get scared when I scarf these down. As for the Drunken Noodle, it bothers me that this dish is what it was. There is so much going on with all the chicken and seafood and noodle, but the color is lacking. The spice is lacking, the dish lacks pop. It looks bland, it looks dull, but yet it could be amazing if some more effort was added. Instead, it simply does just enough to get the job done, without any style to add to such wonderful substance. Same goes with the Thai Iced Tea for that matter. The service is good though, the food comes out fast and the servers were very attentive to all my needs. However the restaurant looked dirty when I was there. Additionally, the bossa nova rendition of 1980's dance hits under a disco ball just seems so wrong, despite the Buddha statue and little pond being so right. Pick an identity and stick with it.
