If you go here, you're only going for the atmosphere and people--which to be fair, are great reasons to visit; however, if you want a great cocktail and to be treated with dignity, then this might not be the place for you. As far as food goes, the olives are some of the best I've ever had. I've never had a full meal here but all of the snacks/starters are great. As New Orleans is the city of my soul (New York is the city of my heart), that's not quite true. But I enjoyed the dark wood and shabby-chic interior. I had these drinks: St. Helens: vodka, mint, lemon and lime juice, over crushed ice. I actually had two of these because after my first, the server brought another to me and said extras had accidentally, inexplicably been made, so a nice freebie. It was a decent drink, but the flavor wasn't nearly as memorable as some of the other drinks. San Francisco Handshake: thyme-infused gin, St. Germain, lemon, Fernet branca, shaken and stirred up. Fernet has a bitter, herbaceous, root-type taste. Perro Y Gato: mezcal, tequila, carrot, habanero, lemon, cilantro, shaken and stirred on the rocks. Very light, refreshing, and loved the veggie flavor. Shi-Shi Chi-Chi (seasonal drink): gin, shishito pepper, pineapple, coco Lopez, lemon, shaken and served tall over ice. Fogerty: bourbon, islay scotch, sage, angostura bitters, stirred and served on the rocks. Smoky, deep, a great sipping drink. I loved all the drinks here. I didn't have any small plates, as I had just had dinner, but they do have cheese boards, deviled eggs, tartar, and the like. I also liked the ambiance and the decor. For the longest time, I had a corner to myself. Eventually a group of five got sat next to me, which wasn't ideal, but the staff asked me beforehand if I was okay with that, and I said yes, as I wasn't trying to mess up their operation! At the end of the night, the staff showed their appreciation at me being laid back by comping one of my drinks. The staff are so laid back and cool here. Great spot for cocktails and appetizers with friends, everything we ordered was delicious and our server was very friendly. We sat outside, which has the perfect "French" setup for people watching and the weather was nice, since we were close to the main entrance we had a glimpse of the music playing inside which was nice. We tried different cocktails and all were good but the star was perros y Gatos, the ricotta spread was also delicious, very high quality cheese and olive oil, we run out of bread but were offered some extra. Inside is very intimate, lively around the bar and very cozy and private in the back, a good spot for a date. Fortunately there wasn't a line at the restroom because they only have one for the entire bar. I wasn't happy about not being handed the check and just a device to tap my card on without having a chance to check the bill first, but other than that it was a great experience and I'll be coming back. read more

I came here on a Friday night for drinks with a friend. It was packed, but we were able to get seats. The inside is very cool; if someone told me to imagine a cocktail bar in Williamsburg, this is probably what would come to mind. It was incredibly loud and the seats are very close together, but despite this, it's still a rather intimate setting. I had the Alibi; I'm not sure what was in it, other than pineapple-infused tequila, but it was delicious. If you're looking for craft cocktails, I'd recommend coming here. read more

It sounded like a trendy spot with a great wine list and well prepared cocktails, so the lady and I obliged after our meal. They have a massive outdoor patio area and boy was this place BUMPING. On a Thursday if I recall correctly, too. We only ended up having one drink so we could bar hop in the neighborhood, but our drinks were wonderful. The feel of this place is a mix of old world New York but with an upbeat and lively atmosphere. Love the small tables, high back bar and the music selection. It seems like a place to be scene, with kids way cooler than me filling up the entire bar. The bartenders were busy and they were working their tails off. They even serve food here and even though I was stuffed to the brim, the dishes that walked by us looked great. I've seen crowds spilling out of the indoor and outdoor space on many summer nights so I felt lucky to be there during a relatively uncrowded evening where it was very easy to get a drink in hand immediately. We tried two different chilled red wines and a cocktail made with rosemary infused rye. Everything sat well on my palate, and the place made for really good people watching. They offer bottles of wine, cocktails, a raw bar and of course beer. Feel free to choose to sit at the bar, although the bar is close to the entrance which means on a colder night you may be affected by the draft. Wow. The host last night was a level of disrespectful I've never experienced before. Just a very confusing experience all around. I've lived in the city for 14 years, working in the service industry for 5 of those years, which this host strangely tried to challenge and discredit when I was driven to disclose this fact. Sir *Thomas* has no idea how to work in hospitality. From start to finish he had a very off putting attitude. I rarely write yelp reviews, but sometimes I'm inspired. When I merely asked for help with charging a phone for a friend in need, he quickly began to berate me- saying I was crazy to my face and then to the bar staff. The bartenders had no problem charging the phone btw, once I was able to ask them directly. Meanwhile, Thomas continued to berate me when my conversation with him was over! Very weird. The bartenders witnessed this and were clearly also shocked by his behavior. I informed one of the managers (Maya), who was very apologetic and professional. She offered us a free round of drinks, but we were already on our way out. Unfortunately it was a very sour end to what was otherwise a very sweet day. I'm a mental health social worker. I say that to express how high my tolerance is!!! Dumbfounded. I'm sure this is not the first negative feedback you've gotten for him. He's a child. Please hold him accountable. Started off with one of the canned beers ($8), since there was nothing on draft. For food, decided to share about a dozen oysters (~$30ish). A half and half mix of East and West Coast offerings with lemon and sauce to the side. Deep flavors in each, though I'm not particular about oysters in general. While waiting, we watched him get annoyed, roll his eyes, and snap at multiple people who approached him to ask about seating, wait times, etc. on a very slow Tuesday night. Stopped in here for a drink the other day as we were biking through Brooklyn. They aren't currently letting anyone dine inside the bar, and they are taking orders through a window. Annoying cause there's a single file line that's wrapping around to where the tables are, but the person taking orders is chit chatting with everyone with no idea how long the line is getting, so waiting to get just a drink and some oysters took about a 7 minute wait. Also when we finally ordered the bartender asked us how much we wanted to tip since they didn't want us to touch their iPad (used for payments). I feel like that's awkward and the minimum tip on the iPad is 20%. Annoying since they didn't even bring the drinks to us. They just give it to you and you seat yourself. The staff was friendly and they were wearing masks appropriately which was good though. The drinks themselves were so so. I ordered the 99 roses, which is supposed to be gin, orchard pear juice, ginger, lemon and rose water. It straight up tasted like lemon juice. I couldn't taste a single other flavor. Also when cocktails cost $12 a pop (there is no happy hour here), I'm expecting some kind of presentation. Not just lemon water in a plastic solo cup. We got some oysters as well ($3.50 each). They were pretty delicious and fresh, but nothing special. The seating was OK. Felt like we were sitting on furniture from my Grandma's basement. It was super old and rickety. I guess some people might like that. My bigger issue is that when we sat down, the table was covered with dead leaves from the plants that they have everywhere. It looks nice, but its also super triggering if you have allergies and we were dying while we sat there for 30 minutes so just be aware of that. Also because there were so many leaves, it makes me wonder if they are wiping the tables between customers. My guess is no, but we didn't stay long enough to see. This place had real potential. Outdoor seating was very cute and properly following social distance guidelines. The restaurant was operating in a fashion where you order food and drinks at the window and then seating is first come first serve. Upon arrival and ordering at the window, the lady taking our order asked if we would like to tip. We said yes. She quickly tapped the 25% tip button on her screen. When we asked to pick, she had the audacity to say that the screen automatically pressed it when it was so very clear that she pressed it herself. Very unprofessional. It is time for spoiling my lovely and cutie friend. Because of her, I tend to go out a lot more than usual. After we had dinner, she still wanted to hanging out in the area. Hotel Delmano is one of the place I walked by many times and didn't have a chance to sit here. Honestly, we were going to another place nearby but the place was full then we saw this place still has some seats available. We ended up had 2 bottles of wine and snow crab legs. The crab was perfect but I understand not to give my hope yp too high for this area. You can't compare place in Williamsburgh to City Island for seafood stuff. We had a great time anyway and as I mentioned at the beginning, if my spoiled best friend is happy Im happy:) During Covid 19 the place has part service and self service. There's the outside patio, the bar and tables immediately to the left upon entering, the section across from the oysters and the section across the bathroom. We sat in the section across from the bathroom as the other areas were filled up. The other people in the section shared a table- one table shared by three couples. We were lucky enough to have the table to ourselves but it was clear that everyone who shared had enough space to be in their own world. It is a perfect spot for a date night as the lighting and low music set the mood for conversation and leaning in. I ordered the fireside and he ordered the San Francisco handshake. Absolutely love this place, both before and during COVID. I loved coming before COVID - elegant ambiance, fun cocktail menu, and great snacks (lots of shellfish and cheese options), plus fun bartenders who would make custom drinks based on your preferences when it wasn't too busy (but the cocktail menu is also extensive!). It's one of those magical NYC bars that just transports you. I've come back frequently during COVID and am happy to see they're still able to operate and are plenty busy! I love the hot cocktail options they've added for this winter - the hot toddy is my favorite. I can't wait for the painchiller to come back next summer! Be warned they don't have heaters so bundle up. Even though there are many swanky rooftop bars nearby, hotel delmano is easily my favorite bar in Williamsburg. read more

My dirty little secret about this place is that it is an incredible first date spot and have brought a few first dates here. Hotel Delano does 3 things better than just about any cocktail place in Williamsburg: amazing and inventive drinks, incredibly inviting and attentive service, and aesthetics off the chart! I've never had a hard time being sat even if my whole party isn't here and the drink menu just has SO much. The Brooklyn Beauty by far is my favorite but I've tried almost all the drinks and not a one is out of place or I wouldn't recommend. Only thing I can't weigh in on is the food, but it looks incredible. I've definitely snuck a peek at some tables who ordered the oysters or some seafood and it all looks fresh and delicious. I will continue to bring dates here, way past of the first, and will continue to recommend this spot to friends for any event. It's so centrally located as well that you really can find a plethora of restaurants around for your next move - plus they're open on a Monday, which can be tricky to find in this neighborhood. read more

I've been coming here for years- probably 20 times total. When I got there tonight I asked for a table for two outside. The host gave me a table and bc it was cold so I asked if I could run home (one block away) to grab a jacket. He said he doesn't usually hold tables but he'd hold it for me and I promised I'd be less than 5 minutes. I returned to find the host had seated other people at the table. I expressed my frustration- had I known he'd give away the table I would not have ran home to get a jacket!. I explained that I had already told my friend we had a table and she was now on her way. His response was , well we don't hold tables. So I said then why did you tell me you'd hold it? The next host told me to "get over it" and wait. Their rudeness was shocking. As a good customer this was a neighborhood spot but I'll sadly never come back I don't so much care about their oversight in holding the table.
