I'm not so much a hater as I am an old man. I say that because I really love this space. The upstairs lounge during early happy hour is bright, gorgeous, comfortable, and fun. During late happy hour though, it's a wall-to-wall packed madhouse, where it's impossible to get a drink, impossible to get a seat, impossible to hear your friends speak, and the poor bartender is so swamped he was pouring more liquor outside his shaker than in. I don't begrudge them the success, but it does make it so it's only fun up to a point. That is, unless you can snag some good people-watching seats and order a couple rounds at a time so you can just sit and watch the mayhem unfold. In that case, you're golden. Beers are really cheap here, I got a spiked strawberry mojito which I highly recommend (also very affordable). Pool goes by pretty fast so definitely put your name down! Tucked away in Brooklyn, Twins Lounge is a fun spot to play pool, grab drinks, and enjoy the photo booth they have. My friend and I got the spicy strawberry margaritas that were pretty good (but could go lighter on the ice). I would recommend this place if you're in the area! read more

I'm a big fan of this (cash only) bar in Greenpoint, and have been here many times since it opened. It has a cool 70s vibe, is dimly lit, pool table on the first floor, and outdoor space on the second. The drinks are cheap for New York / the area in general, with well drinks at $8, and cocktails $12. This place is always packed, basically no matter what day of the week. On weekends, it gets very very crowded on both floors. The bathroom line is exceedingly slow here, so be warned. I absolutely love this bar and would definitely recommend it for anyone in the area. read more

I loved that I stumbled upon this place. They have great and surprisingly inexpensive cocktails. Friendly and hardworking staff. A fun and fully analog photobooth. And TWO mini-pool tables. I've gotta ding them for a few things, though. But they are easily fixed! - Not only are they cash-only which is already an unnecessary own-goal for a business but they rub salt in the wound by having two unsightly ATMs inside the establishment with a large service fee. A big middlefinger to the customer. Even the photobooth takes credit cards. - The door to the bathroom was weirdly gross. This place is so clean and modern but the bathroom door looked like the cheap and dirty second floor indoor/outdoor entrance to a shared frat house. Gotta get a new door or AT LEAST paint it and install a kickplate. - This is a small thing but the soap in the bathroom. You know that neon pink almond soap you find in truckstops? Theirs was white but it was the same thing. I'd gladly pay an extra $1.00 per cocktail if I didn't have to smell that overwhelming and gross smell every time I put my hand up to my mouth to sip my drink. Cool spot... until it got busy. If your preference is a cocktail, order them before it gets crowded. When we first arrived, the cocktails were crafted well and good for the price. Once 9pm rolled around, we didn't get nearly the same quality cocktail. Oddly, same price though. That's a (pathetic) cry for help, Twins Lounge. Quantity: No issue with size or strength. Value: $12 for Cocktails. Cash only. Ambiance: Twins Lounge is a divey cocktail and pool bar located in Greenpoint. They have a large bar area in the front, several pool tables and couches in the back, as well as an upstairs area. The downstairs space was dark and moody, they seemed to find a good balance of dive and style. The soundtrack was alternative rock, which seemed fitting. Crowd: A pretty big crowd for Sunday night, most folks gathered around the pool tables. Service: Funny and efficient bartenders. Parking: Some street parking in the area. read more

Good place to grab a casual drink, either by yourself or with friends. The cocktails were very good and reasonably priced at $12 each, the bartender can customize them as you like. Tried the margarita, substituting with Mezcal instead of tequila, which worked out well. Also had the Mezcal Negroni which is a nice twist and less sweet than a lot of the negronis out there. The downstairs area gives off more of an upscale dive bar vibe. Upstairs has more of a chill, cafe-like aesthetic and a greenhouse type window which lets in a lot of light (and heat!). They could certainly use better air conditioning upstairs, it felt like a sauna with the sun streaming in through the window. read more

Came here for a birthday party with the entire upstairs rented out. I can only speak for the event but we had a great time and the space is very chic for upper 20s/ early 30s crowd. It has huge glass windows that really open up the space and very modern decor. The dj played great music (but I think he was hired by the birthday girl). The drinks were also super tasty & if you can get past the cash only part they're pretty affordable. I like that they have pool tables downstairs and that the two separate floors can have completely different things going on. The only downside is that there are only 2 bathrooms downstairs for the entire building so the line can get kinda long. read more

This is a great place to meet friends or a date. The lower level has a pool table and the upper level has a second bar with additional lounge space and an outside terrace. It's decorated in a retro, mid century modern look that it's extremely charming. During the day time it has a cool and laid back vibe. Ok so Love the vibe of the place and the quality of drinks. BUT there's this one bartender (fringe bangs, balayage and shitty attitude) that is consistent with THE worst vibes known to man. She'll ignore you when you want a drink and give you thee worst service when she actually pays you any attention.
