a bit of a discrete bar from the outside, but warm and inviting atmosphere inside. had a fun pre dinner drink here with my cousin, and we had a great time. they also have a photo booth! loved that!

The image shows a variety of decorative objects, including figurines, cans, and memorabilia, arranged on top of a wooden cabinet with glass doors. Reflections of people are visible in the glass, indicating an indoor setting, likely a bar or cafe. The background features a wall with faded text, colorful artwork, and framed photographs, creating an eclectic and casual atmosphere.

I haven't been back here in like 15 plus years to throw out a number that horrifically ages my timeline in New York. Although, I have passed it numerous times and have just never found a specific reason to go back. A friend this weekend wanted to go check out their free live music Sunday thing in the backyard. So we went. They do still surprisingly have some weekend deals with a variety of cans being marked at only $5 and frozen margs are $10. I think happy hour entails weekdays until 7pm with some kind of $5 on everything happy hour and thinking about it. . . hotdog. . . that's a pretty good deal these days. They also have cheap tacos somewhere in the backyard from a truck I believe. It's an alright space. Really It's like 3.5-almost 4 stars. But it can get a little stuffy and crowded and the music that particular day was just not my jam. It was bordering on giving me a headache. I like their old-fashioned looking fridge made of wood and the old antique toys and stuff on top of the bar. It has a fun eclectic fair and vibe.

The 3 stars are all for the tacos. Visited here last weekend after going to some other bars in Williamsburg. There was no cover and the line didn't last too long. The beer selection was subpar, and the prices weren't that great compared to other bars in the area. When my friend and I went to get tacos 10 minutes before the bar closed, leaving 1 friend at the table, an employee came through and threw away our unfinished beers before asking our friend if we were done with them. Never had this happen to me at a bar before. In the back patio, they have a permanent food truck that serves tacos and is cash only. The tacos were absolutely amazing. So far they are actually the best ones I've had in NYC. I wouldn't mind coming back sometime in the future purely to have the tacos again.

    Happy christmas

Is there good dancing music here? Like mix of hip hop, reggae, reggaeton?

I would say so, it definitely varies depending on the night, would say I haven't heard much reggae/reggaeton or hip hop here.

If there is a performance and I just wanted to grab drinks n food, do I still have to pay the entrance fee?

Last time I was there they had a concert and I did not have to pay the entrance fee.

If there's a concert there that's sold out can people still just get into bar area?

Yes. Last time I was there they had a performance that was sold out but I still hung out by the bar a the out side area.

How strict are they w the whole 21 and older thing if I just want to see a concert but not drink?

They have bouncers at the door on the weekends, but during the week it can vary in terms of who is at the door, however, they do enforce 21+

It looks like it will rain tonight, 5/23. Will the concert still be outdoors and will we get wet or will there be a shelter erected? I am wondering it is better to skip tonight. The place is closed now so I can't call.

There is an outdoor area there but when I have been there, the concerts take place in an indoor space. Maybe your concert is indoors?

So there is a music venue area, and then a series of rooms/bars? I'm trying to understand the layout, so we don't accidentally stumble upon a concert.…

They do shows in a room off to the side of the 2nd large area. The concert space has a foyer with a door person so it's hard to stumble into a show.

I hoped we could have refilled them inside before taking the subway back, but didn't see a place to do that. We passed through security without a hitch. It was open seating, and we were a big group. We found seats in two rows that separated the group, but we could still talk and mingle at intermission. The opening act was unique and entertaining. Unfortunately the noisy attendees sitting stage left made it difficult to hear her and her playing. Common courtesy was not evident for this act. After an intermission, the main show took the stage - I MOSTLY BLAME MYSELF. The stage was perfect for these funny troupe & their original humorous skits, which were were diverse, topical, and rousing. After another intermission they returned and gave outstanding & energetic performances. We came for the show and it did not disappoint. The venue was suitable for the show and the uncomfortable folding chairs necessary for the dance party after the show. Static comfortable chairs could not have been uprooted for the after party fun.

There's plenty of seating, and it feels very warm and cozy within. Ordering at the bar took a little while, but the bartender was very friendly and once I had the drinks, it was a great space to relax within. We had some of the ciders, which were a great flavor and taste. I also loved the decor behind the bar and also throughout the building. There's a yellow, comforting warmth throughout the space, something that I loved on a cold winter evening. If you want a chill space with excellent vibes and a warm atmosphere, Skinny Dennis is definitely the spot for you. I think they also have live music frequently - no one was performing while we were there, although I did notice someone beginning to set-up just as we were heading out. I highly recommend!

It should not be a surprise, but it's rather huge. My sister and I already had tickets, and all we had to do was show our IDs, get our tickets scan, and we were able to go right in. From the entrance, there are no signs that indicate where the stage is, so you have to walk around a bit, but it's not difficult. The bowling lanes are straight ahead and there's a long bar. They have some cool looking cocktails, and the one that really caught my attention was a peanut butter espresso martini. For the longest, because I was afraid of how much it would be (it actually wasn't too bad), I resisted the urge, but after the concert, I got one and it was delicious, even though it was not jazzed up and looking fancy like a typical espresso martini. They put it in a plastic cup and that was pretty much it haha XD. Anyways, the concert was a blast, and it's awesome that we could literally stand right in front of the stage, no barriers or security with a gap. It was an awesome crowd, and even the some of the artists came into the crowd. Even though it's not the smallest space, that made it feel more intimate and it was a fun experience. The sound was amazing all around too. I haven't been to many concert venues in NYC, but I have no complaints about this one really, though the drink's presentation was a bit of a letdown for me.
