The atmosphere is chill and It's quiet enough to have a conversation. The service was friendly and attentive throughout. For food, we ordered the following: * 6 oysters * Shrimp cocktail * Smoked salmon rillette * Buratta * Japanese fried chicken * Octopus Everything was tasty! My favorites were the shrimp cocktail - the shrimp were perfectly sized! The smoked salmon rillette were served on the cutest little toasts and they were the absolute perfect bite. I also loved that the octopus came cut up into bite-sized pieces. The desserts were also stellar. We shared the chocolate cake and the special ice cream. The non-alcoholic espresso martini was also delicious! I will definitely be getting that if we go back. You can never go wrong with a nightcap at Bar Blondeau. Located on the sixth floor of the Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg, this rooftop captures a stunning view of the Manhattan skyline at eye level. Everyone from the doorman to the server treated us like royalty. The martinis here are sumptuous, especially the Zephyr which consists of apple based spirits from upstate New York mixed with bergamot and sage. For a light app, I recommend the winter squash tempura served with an addicting green tahini. The chocolate cake is a decadent delight featuring a rich layer of hazelnut praline. read more

Bar Blondeau is a beautifully elegant rooftop bar on the sixth floor of the Wythe Hotel and has wonderful views of the Manhattan Skyline. We were able to get a seat right at the window and were able to enjoy this view the entirety of our time here. We came around 10pm on a Saturday, and while we didn't have reservations, they were able to give us a standing table right away. Before we were even done ordering, they had a booth right by the window available for us. We definitely got lucky and would recommend making reservations if you have the option! Drinks are great! They're about $20 a cocktail, which is definitely a bit pricier but on par with what you're getting for your money. Only complaint was some of their drinks aren't customizable because they say they make them in batch - for the price and the more upscale nature of this restaurant, you would think that all the drinks would be made to order. We didn't grab any food while we were here, but they also have a decent-looking food menu. They also do a "sunset hour" happy hour from 5-7pm on M-F. While we weren't here for it, they have a few well-priced drinks on the menu as options. Staff were efficient and helpful. Definitely recommend stopping by here for drinks with a magnificent view - whether alone, on a date, or with a group. It'll be a great time. read more

There's also a rooftop section with a mix of tables and casual lounge seating, which adds to the ambiance. Bar Blondeau was on the top of my list to grab drinks during our visit to Williamsburg, and we were lucky enough to get a walk-in table with the perfect view of Manhattan at 10pm on a Saturday night. Didn't try any of their food, but their drinks were great and reasonably priced (considering you're at a rooftop bar in New York). The Hundy P was enjoyable. Service is good. Some of the tables are definitely hit or miss here in terms of the kind of view you'll have, and the bar area is super crowded at sunset hour, but we lucked out and got an amazing table! Even before entering, I trusted the Le Crocodile and Chez Ma Tante guys who run this place, and they did not let me down. My boyfriend and I ordered: + Martini blonde + Long weekend + Measure for measure + Desierto alto + Tuna tartare + Blondeau Caesar salad + Burger au poivre + Fries + Scallops + Key lime The martini was my favorite of the cocktails, while standout dishes were the Caesar (absolutely perfect), scallops, fries and key lime dessert. Burger was also really solid. The service stood out to me too; in a world of ridiculous NYC table limits, they didn't rush us at all, and we were able to linger for another round and dessert. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon at 230pm and it was not busy yet, so we got to pick our table. I heard of this place because I subscribe to the cooking substack of one of the former pastry chefs (https://kaitlynwong.substack.com/) and she mentioned developing an espresso mousse with Amaro!! I did not need to read further and googled the place to discover that this was just the cherry on the pie: the website promised this stunning rooftop bar in Williamsburg with great skyline views and I immediately booked a reservation. It did not disappoint :) The food and the drinks were amazing--drinks were on the summery side but they have a full stocked bar if a Manhattan in the middle of a heatwave is your thing :) If alcohol is not your thing, their mocktails are definitely a good substitute. We had the burger and the octopus, and the tuna tartare for starters. Each of the plates was great (as you can tell from the lack of pictures). We did have the infamous mousse and so should you! (it now has cold brew liqueur instead of amaro) The staff were great; we got lots of recommendations on drinks and how much to order, and they were very patient with my indecisiveness :P In short, come for the views (and the chocolate mousse), and stay for the cocktails and the food! read more

This bar is on the 6th floor of a hotel. It was easy for us to walk in and be seated (on a Wednesday). The staff was very friendly and offered to take our coats. The ambiance is really cute (think vintage romantic). They have some great cocktail options. They are a little pricey but worth it. Mine was the Poire Royal - $31 but made with absinthe and super good. We shared the fried chicken app, the ham croquettes and the fried artichokes. Everything was so good. So good. Their 5-7pm happy hour cocktail special was very good, all 3 were delicious cocktails. The food was very good. I probably liked the fried chicken best... I'll try it on my next go. The tuna tartare was fresh. The oysters were bright and briny. The cheese dip dish was alright. Creamy with a smooth texture. Very decadent. The French fries are a Must. It's so good and I wanna bathe in the dipping sauce! The scallops were tender and I nice balance with the subtle creaminess of the white beans. I am so excited to go again. Rating is for the young female hostess that was at the front. We were told only outdoor was available and to order at the bar by the male hostess. My friend and I were walking round and round the block until the doorman called us in. View was nice! Most of the tables were far from the windows but you could still appreciate the views from all angles. Had the Sunbird, and my friend tried one of the canned Brooklyn Lagers. It pains me to be negative about anything related to the Wythe Hotel, because I love the place as a whole. But our dinner at Bar Blondeau was meh in all ways, most of it forgettable. The advertising and branding here is pretty spot on, because my expectations were quite high. Both the food and drinks look fantastic on paper, but the execution is just not there, at least not consistently. It's still a new venue so perhaps they're still working out the kinks, but with so many other good options in the 'Burg, I would not go out of your way to come here unless you're staying at the Wythe and Le Crocodile is full. Came here for dinner at 8pm on a Saturday night. They check you in both in the lobby and upstairs, I'm assuming to ensure that everyone getting on the elevator is fully vaxxed. Though the inside is stylish and swanky, I prefer the outdoors: the terrace is pretty expansive and comfy, and you get decent views. Part of the draw here was the cocktail menu, a mix of fun, light and refreshing options and more sultry, stirred options. But what we got in reality was a little disappointing. I ordered the Martini Blond (Amalfi Coast Gin and Cucumber Botanical Vodka, Blond Vermouth, Lemon Oil, Castelvetrano Olive and House-pickled Onion), which looked to be a take on a Vesper and a good one at that. The drink itself was actually pretty good and well-balanced, but it wasn't very cold (pretty close to room temperature, honestly), which made it less enjoyable. My fiancé got the Stormy Weather (Japanese Whisky, Ginger, Soda, Lemon Oil, Tea, Tiki Bitters), which tasted like a very watered down whiskey ginger. No notes of lemon, tea, bitters, etc. Just ginger ale diluted in ice. They slightly redeemed themselves with a solid glass of orange wine, so perhaps stick to the wine menu if you're on the fence. The food was also a letdown in many ways, though there were a few decent dishes of those that we tried. Just about everything here is small plates, so we shared a bunch of items. Though we asked them to course it out (and our waiter was emphatic that they would), the food came out almost immediately, and all at once. A bit overwhelming. Seemed like there were generally some wires crossed between staff. It also generally seemed like there was a speed-execution trade-off, such that much of what we received felt rushed in its preparation in addition to its delivery. Eats, below: Marinated eggplant chermoula and pistachio: C Reviewers seemed to like this but I couldn't really agree. In theory the pistachio would have added some nice texted, but it was mostly mush. Chilled mussels w/ tomato and baguette: A- Definitely one of the highlights of the night. Fresh, light and flavorful. Amberjack crudo w/ curry and meyer lemon: B+ Another solid preparation, though far from the best crudo/tartare I've tried. Still, the curry and lemon were interesting touches I don't often see in preparations like this, plus, I don't think I've ever tried amberjack before. My Yelp MO is to be a novelty junky, so I suppose I scratched that itch here. Tuna belly confit w/ peppers and artichoke: C+ Hmmm this dish just seemed confused. The tuna was served atop very heavy yogurt or cream sauce, and the peppers/artichoke were the overly greasy type you might find in a catered antipasti plate. Summer cucumber and melon salad: C In this case the description says it all. Cucumber and melon. I thought maybe there would be something fun and summery happening here but nope, just chopped up some cantaloupe, sliced some cukes and plopped it all on a plate. Leeks miso, sesame and pine nuts: B This is probably the most solid veggie dish of the night. That said, it's all relative. The leeks were a little overcooked and a little under-seasoned but the seeds and nuts added some nice texture to the dish. read more
