I hosted a joint birthday party here yesterday for 15 people. I booked the "chefs call" option which is a wine and food pairing. After having a tough time scheduling via email, I was put in touch with the manager, Jordan, who was helpful! We had 3 people in our group who wanted non-alcoholic wine pairings (two sober people and one pregnant person) and we were told they would accommodate us. I also informed Jordan of the allergies in our group. One person was dairy/gluten free, and two others had shellfish allergies. She assured me this would be no issue. We arrived on time yesterday, and everything went downhill from there. First, our waiter seemed to hate us from the very start. He introduced himself, asked who the birthday people were (and then didn't say happy birthday), and then said all of us would be having non-alcoholic drinks. When we said that only 3 people wouldn't be drinking, and the rest of us were going to (hopefully) be consuming regular wine, he rolled his eyes and told us "that's the note he received." Then, a woman came from behind the bar and said she would help us for now but "she's really supposed to be behind the bar." Every single time the waiter came to our table, he asked us who was drinking alcoholic drinks and who was drinking non-alcoholic drinks. He couldn't remember the 3 N.A. people after 6 or so courses and pairings. We were one of two tables in the entire restaurant. Singling out sober people consistently for 3.5 hours is....a choice. The first wine pour occurred and several people at the table were skipped. When we asked for those people to get their pours, the waiter inspected their glasses to ensure that they hadn't already been poured and wanted more wine. You mess up and were accused of trying to sneakily get more? Offensive and awkward. Our first course came out 20 minutes after our wine. It was a really nice charcuterie board with an assortment of cheese, jam, honey, and meat. It was beautiful (and the best part of the entire experience), however, because it was one large board and not a few smaller boards, we actually had to stand up and bring the board from one side of the table to the other in order to share. Bizarre. What is even more bizarre is that it came with no crackers. 25 minutes after the cheese and meat was served, we received crostini which was good, but 25 minutes too late. Our next course was more bread with cheese. Then, marinated mushrooms in an endive cup. Then, a salad. Not clear why the salad came 4th and my guests started to grow concerned (as did I) that we would never get a hot food course. While the courses and wine were served, NEVER ONCE did anyone tell us what wine we were drinking or why they paired the wine with the course. Additionally, when we asked what course was coming next or how many were left, no one knew the answer. At this point, we had been there 3 hours and wanted to leave. My guests were literally planning where to go out to eat after this so they could feel full. We asked what was coming next and if we could potentially speed up the service, they told us again that they didn't know. Finally, hard roast beef sandwiches came out along with chicken bites that allowed each guest to have a single bite. One waiter told us they were buffalo bites, another told us they were soy glazed. I think they were soy glazed? I guess I'll never know. They were dry with no dipping sauce. IMPORTANTLY, when serving the chicken bites to our gluten free guest, the waiter told her they were gluten free because "the fryer they use is so hot it burned the gluten off." When she politely said that's not how it works, he rolled his eyes and walked away. It's a MIRACLE no one in our group was served something they were allergic too. I guess it's a good thing much of the food never came. Desperate to leave, we asked them to give us back our dessert we brought (cupcakes) and to get us the check. At this point, I was fighting tears. I was embarrassed that my entire party seemingly had a bad time and that we were being treated so poorly. The hostess seemed to recognize how upset I was (despite me trying to hold it in) and offered us an ADDITIONAL COURSE. I told her thank you, but we cannot spend another hour and a half waiting for it (we left before the last course, I have no idea what it would have been or how much longer we would have to stay for two more courses). They ended up giving us $100 off which was a nice gesture but truly insufficient to remedy what was a really embarrassing experience. Gratuity of 20% was mandated despite the unacceptable service and I didn't fight it. I just wanted to get out of there. I toured this place as a potential wedding venue for my upcoming wedding and was very close to booking it. I'm grateful to have had this experience to easily rule it out. TLDR - This place is not equipped to handle a large party or any party at all. The staff needs immense training or someone could be seriously injured. read more

I had the absolute best time at today's wine tasting! In the 1 hour tour, we tasted 5 wines all ranging in taste and region. We learned where they were sourced and how the flavors were informed by the environment. We were also walked through the process of tasting the wine and some unique tips on analyzing the flavor profile. After the tasting and tour we had the option of purchasing a bottle of wine at a discount. I left with the Barbera - excited to try! Justin created a very easeful environment which encouraged community, open dialogue and laughter. No fluff here! It was definitely an educational experience. The easy going and kind nature of the staff definitely influenced the ambiance. I came with one friend and left with four new ones! And the space is breathtaking - lots of light and free flowing air. After the wine tour which definitely left us tipsy, we got a table and enjoyed more wine and a few plates. The food was mouth watering good. The pick three option was certainly a good portion to share but I ended up divulging in the entire thing. I definitely reset my flavor palette with this meal. I hope to return here someday but in the meantime I'll be promoting by word of mouth! read more

Lovely space with a fantastic selection of wines! They import all their grapes from California and the Finger Lakes, and make the wine in house. We had the focaccia with pesto butter and two different tastings. The focaccia texture is soft but crispy on the outside. The tastings are very reasonably priced and PLENTY of wine. Really cute bar! I love the long bar and the decor. Love the shelving and the simplicity of the bar. They had all of the wines they have on display behind the bar. I came here on a rainy Saturday afternoon. I knew the experience was going to be good because it was still pretty busy. Me and my two girlfriends sat at the bar. This is a very cute wine bar. Me and 2 friends came here for brunch. We decided to just sit at the bar. The bartender was awesome she was knowledge and had a good pour. Of course they served wine from the winery and there is a nice selection. The food options are for a light meal, which I did not mine. I order the avocado toast and we also order a few things from the cheese & charcuterie boards. The food was fresh and tasty no complaints. Amazingly I come to Brooklyn Winery again to the new location (they moved from old location years ago) I bought a wine testing ticket with a group of my friends. It was enjoyable experience to go to winery in Williamsburg. The Wine Instructor is knowledgeable and give a good amount of story of the place, type of grapes and process of making wine. Came here for "The Chefs Call" package to celebrate my birthday with 5 friends and to do the Harvest Wine Tour & Tasting back in November 2024 and the process was seamless from start to finish. The wine tour was cool. I learned a lot and was allowed to take pictures. We stayed in one huge room were all the magic happens. The Birthday Brunch was theeee best!! Brooklyn Winery allowed my hubby to surprise me with a birthday cake. The Chef's Call package included two BEAUTIFUL Charcuterie Spreads for the table and sharable dishes there after. The food was delicious and absolutely beautiful! The waiters were all men and they were so accommodating, friendly, and handsome. I can not wait to go back. Everything was very clean. The bathroom line was incredibly long after the tour so try get in before the tour ends. Overall: I had a wonderful experience and plan to host my next birthday here again. Stopped by at 5 pm when they opened and we were seated immediately. Sad they are closing their N9 location but the new place is designed beautifully. And the bonus is that they have event space in the back so it doesn't close every time there is a wedding! Service was very attentive (definitely got that recently opened feel). We started out with the Chefs whim, which they accommodated to be vegetarian which we appreciated. Beautiful boats and it's a good size to share between 2-4 people. Had some nice stinky yummy blue cheese, wasn't blown away by the vegetables but the pear was a nice dessert-like addition. Was bummed they don't serve the Brussels sprouts anymore but next time I'd like to try a few more of their dishes. The wine is also solid, I got the bubbly and the Riesling. Wasn't too sold on the bubbly but the Riesling is decent and not too sweet. I actually tasted the Pinot noir and liked that the most. Overall a great spot for a friends catch up or date night. Back today to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary, and we had just as magical an afternoon... We ran into Douglas, who was not just an attentive attendant to us on our wedding day but also, knowing she'd just had an accident and was battling Alzheimer's, catered to my mother like she was his own. Today we met Max, who was gracious and funny with the three children in the restaurant (ours being one of them), making us all feel welcome and relaxed. He even let one of the kiddos help him pop a bottle of blanc de blanc! We're predisposed to liking this place, having been married in the old Brooklyn winery space. It's a spacious modern dining space. Service is good. The food was creative and enjoyable. Our springtime meal had an intriguing carrot dish with carrot puree, baked carrots, shaved carrots, etc. that was somewhat oversalted, fun delicate porchettas, and a duck entree. My sister got married at the Brooklyn Winery this past weekend and the evening was magical. The second I stepped foot into the ceremony room I was in awe. The room was breathtaking. The attention to detail was impeccable. I think everyone who walked in here was speechless and had to take a moment to look around and take it all in. The staff was lovely from start to finish. The wedding coordinator, I think her name was Lizzie, was just amazing. She is an absolute professional and was really on top of her game from the moment we walked in. The winery had a back room that remained private for the bridal party, absolutely clutch considering we had several purses and things that we were able to keep up there and grab when needed. There was a bigger back room that was open to the wedding guests where they had an additional bar and cocktail food. It was so nice for people to have multiple different rooms to go into throughout the wedding. The ceremony was perfect; romantic and whimsical, like I said, magical. Once the ceremony finished people moved into the main room where the bar was for cocktail hour while they transformed the ceremony room into the dining room. The bartenders were fantastic. Quick and friendly. We were able to utilize the front outdoor space with hanging lights because the weather was so beautiful despite it being an October night. The cocktail hour food was money. Cheese, meats, passed hors d'oeuvre that people are still raving about days later. When they opened the doors to invite us to our tables for dinner, we were stunned all over again. The tables were gorgeous. The flowers on the table, the candles, the plating, just everything was an absolute dream. Everything was served family style. Appetizer was a fall salad, incredibly fresh and tasty. Entrees were a mix of fried chicken, a pasta dish and the juiciest steak I have ever had in my life. Staff would walk around with huge platters and serve guests whatever they wanted. The quality of the food was unlike anything I've had at a wedding before and I have been in a LOT of weddings. The flow was perfect. After dinner it was time to dance. The dance floor is smaller than what I'm used to but sort of in the best way because everyone was close together dancing, laughing, singing and it brought everyone together. People could be on the dance floor, outside, in the upstairs back room or back at their table in the dining area. There was plenty of room for everyone. There is not one thing I would have changed about this venue or the staff. It was truly the perfect day celebrating my sister and new brother and I highly highly recommend the Brooklyn Winery to anyone and everyone for a wedding and also for dinner and drinks. I have had the pleasure of going to brooklyn winery twice this summer. The first time I went for their wine tasting and tour with my girls, which was informative. Brooklyn winery is beautiful and at time i forgot I was in brooklyn. This is the day I fell in love with there mussels and summer kale salad (I highly recommend both). The bar is really cute and a nice atmoshpere with wood tables and walls, very warm feeling. They have a great happy hour 5-8 mon-fri with 4 dollar olives and bar nuts and 7 dollar glasses of wine. And on Wednesday its half off wine bottles. I came here in 2018 and this year for the same thing- Halloween wine and chocolate tasting. Last year we tasted 5 wines and this year we only tasted 4. Also this year they gave one less brownie, not a full second chocolate bar and not a fifth piece of chocolate since there was no fifth wine. And all for the same 45 dollar price. I was disappointed at that. Also disspointed because last year they made that back room stunning with dim light and candle light on each table to really set a nice halloween mood. This year there was bright light and no halloween mood/decorations. Also none of the wines wowed me and if I wanted to buy one it would run me 35 - 45 dollars which is quite expensive for wine when I can pick up an excelllent European wine for 20 dollars. But I went again this year b.c I love chocolate and I thought it was a great halloween event. Upset this year it was not on par. But don't get me wrong this place is a great bar. Amazing food and a cozy hangout spot. Last year before the wine tasting we ate dinner here and got the baked brie and lamb sliders (which are not on the menu anymore). The baked brie was delicious I wish they still had that on the menu. This year we got turkey meatballs and the beet and white bean humus. Both were excellent. The humus was large and tastey and came with huge slices of bread, carrots and cucumbers for 9 dollars. For 10 dollars they gave us 11 small turkey meatballs bursting with rosemary flavor. Both dishes priced well. I find the sliders on the menu to be expensive at 17 dollars for two sliders. Despite me being disspointed at the chocolate and wine tasting this year, this is a great happy hour spot where you will not be dissapointed in the food! read more

Cute and romantic winery perfect for couples or friends! My boyfriend suggested we check this place out after seeing good reviews on this place and boy did it live up to its expectations! Since we had a rainy day in the city yesterday we wanted to do something indoors that would also practice social distancing and this place really was perfect! We weren't quite sure if reservations were required so we called and asked if there was any availability and to our surprise they allowed us to just walk in! As soon as we walked in, they asked for our names and relevant details and took our temperatures which made me feel very comfortable knowing they're taking the proper measures during this time with Covid going on. The entire staff was wearing masks properly which I also appreciated. The customer service here truly is impeccable since our waitress made us feel very welcomed and even provided us with her top red wine recommendations since it was our first time there! She suggested we go with the Malbec and we ordered half a bottle which to our surprise came in a graduated glass beaker which really reminded me of my college and high school lab days haha (this was actually a cool touch)! Our waitress would refill our water and wine glasses and somehow would pour each wine glass so perfectly even that my boyfriend picked up on it! The ambiance here is truly beyond words since its beautifully decorated with romantic candle lighting, antique plates, wood tables, and wood accents that gave you a homey yet upscale vibe... Not only did I fall in love with the ambience but the Malbec wine we ordered was truly one of the best red wines I've ever had! The scenery here really gave me that romantic and intimate date night feel where I could share some excellent wine and conversation with my boyfriend. Not to mention we ordered the French fries that were actually extremely DELICIOUS and the perfect sharing dish that both my boyfriend and myself were obsessed with!
