This review is for a wine tasting that I attended with my girlies, Darlene P. and Melissa M. We bought tickets for $25 each, the week prior and arrived a few minutes early. They allowed us to wait in the main dining area until the event started. Once they were ready, they checked us in fairly quickly, handed us wine glasses and sent us on our merry way to explore! I was very happy that we got there early because the place got packed real quick. I sampled the white wines, rosés and champagnes first and then the reds. By the time I was ready for the darker vino variety, we were all elbow to elbow. They featured local wines from Long Island, NYC and Westchester which I appreciate, greatly; really good wines, locally sourced. The representatives were very knowledgeable and I took pics of the wines I would like to try again. They also had light spread for us to nosh on, such as cheese, crackers, fruit, seasoned nuts, pickles, crudités, charcutarie and sweets. There was definitely enough to hold me over while I sipped. The staff was attentive and kept the chilled water carafes full and I just loved the chic rustic decor of the space. I've read that people have had wedding receptions here and I can't totally see it. I swear I stepped into a Pinterest post with all of the reclaimed wood and string lights. I would definitely come back and my only regret is not arriving at least an hour earlier so that we could have sampled some of their) Brooklyn Winery's regular food menu items. We were all gifted with informational pamphlets describing what we sampled as well as a reusable tote after the event. I came here for a wedding and it was beautiful! Loved the rustic look and decor. The food was amazing! I've been to A LOT of weddings and this one (besides my own wedding) had the best food! The cocktail hour passed h'ors d'oeuvres were quite tasty. My favorite were the mini grilled cheeses. When we were seated we had a salad then came all of the entrées! It was an interesting setup that the dining part was in a separate room than the dance floor but right after eating all of the guests were on the dance floor. I loved that it was family style and we got to try everything. I enjoyed the brussel sprouts and smashed red potatoes. The entrees were salmon, steak and buttermilk fried chicken. I was so full I could only have one piece of each but it was delicious! I'd love to go back here for dinner! The bartenders were very attentive. During dinner I ordered a drink from a server which they said we could do instead of going to the bar each time we wanted a drink. I never got my drink and ended up having to go to the bar to get it after 15 minutes...I guess they must've forgotten. I came here with a friend to do a wine tasting, and we had a fantastic time! Our host was so informative and energetic, and really made the experience phenomenal! You try 5 different wines with the tasting while also getting a quick tour of the winery with an explanation on how the wine is made. It was such a fun experience! The restaurant and venue where the tasting was is beautiful as well. The host at the host stand was very rude and loudly yelled at and questioned me on where I was going when I came back from the restroom, but other than that, I had a fantastic experience here. I'll be telling all of my other friends about this experience so they can go too! read more

Reviewing both the "Wine Tasting +Tour Event" as well as my dining experience at Brooklyn Winery is truly a pleasure for me, especially since all of it was so wonderfully memorable. Brooklyn Winery is beautifully decorated and structured. I met my friend in the front portion of the place that has their bar and table settings. We were quickly informed that the Wine Tasting and Tour Event (which was $25) would begin, so we walked into the room next door. Tour Guide Douglas greeted us with a warm smile and handed us our first glass of wine. In a matter of minutes, there were soon places with 11 other individuals at adjacent tables. Douglas ensured that he was knowledgeable of the various wines we were given throughout the tasting as well as the wine making process they use within Brooklyn Winery once the grapes are sent to the establishment. The wine tasting consisted of tasting 8 different wines which included: 1.) 2014 Chardonnay (unoaked) -White Wine 2.) 2014 Reisling - White Wine 3.) 2014 Reisling - (Barrel Fermented) -White Wine 4.) 2016 Dry Rose 5.) 2012 Pinot Noire - Los Carnes (Red Wine) 6.) 2013 North Fold Bland (Red Wine) 7.) 2013 Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon (Red Wine) 8.) 2013 Old Vine Zinfandel (Red Wine) I am definitely a White Wine kind of woman, so I enjoyed the first 3 wines the most...however they were all great! Random Obsevration: it was so special to see an engaged couple meeting with a staff person to discuss where everything will be set up/structured and also viewing the space to prepare for their upcoming wedding...how romantic! The tour portion also consisted of being shown where the tanks are stored that are used within the fermentation process as as well as the specific area that houses the stored barrels of wine. The most interesting tidbit I learned is that each one of Brooklyn Winery's barrels of stored wine creates 300 individual bottles of wine! Once the tour and wine tasting ended, we were hungry so we remained there to have some shared plates of food for dinner. We had Duck Pate, Lamb Sliders and Turkey + Golden Raisin Meatballs w/ Baby Spinach and Greek Yogurt. All of the dishes were rich in flavor!!! Although the plates seemed small, it was actually so much to eat that I was full once everything was consumed. I walked out content and with a smile on my face! I need to come back one day, enjoy their romantic, candlelit ambiance (such pretty flowers) and try the other various dishes as well as partake of some more of the fabulous wine! read more

This place is awesome. I live a few blocks away and although it's been on my list for years, I finally made it out here with my wife. We were here for appetizers and wine before dinner at another place. But after seeing some of the delicious main dishes coming out of the kitchen, I wish we would have stayed here for dinner as well. On to the wine and apps though. We did a sampler of 3 upstate New York wines and got a full glass of Riesling and Zinfandel after, all of the wines were great. I'm not a big wine fan, my wife is, but I was happy and impressed. For the apps, we had the assorted olives and nuts. Both plates were very generous and tasty. We made it in for the happy hour, so got a few bucks off most items, another plus. Service was good and the bartender was very knowledgeable about the wine. Can't wait to come back. read more

This place is beautiful, it's a little hidden gem. I say that because without the name of the restaurant on the outside you might actually miss it. I came here for a Friday 8pm class (wine tour and tasting). With a total cost of $25 per person you're able to get a 30 minute tour of the winery along with 30 minutes of wine tasting. I have to say everything was well worth it. Our tour guide whose name I've sadly forgot ( Sarah maybe) was awesome and so sweet. She knew a lot about the wines and just had really good energy. This tour and tasting was intimate enough for a date and even good enough for a girls night. I would like to add that of all the wines we tasted ( 6, I believe) we ended up buying two :-))) If you're ever thinking of a good date night, night out with the girls,etc definitely come here. 5 stars all around and I would definitely come back! read more

Walking across brooklyn to the williamsburg bridge we found this gem in the middle of nowhere. The ambience itself is so backyard romance. A place you believe youd only see in a movie is completely accessible. We, a bit novice with wines looking at this menu, ultimately decided on Caberenet Sauvignon - Sonoma. Bold. Deep fruit flavor, bottled. This accompanied the lamb burgers. Little pieces of heaven, heaven sliders. I came here for a wedding. There is a lot of good here: the space was beautiful, the staff was very attentive, and the food was great. My one complaint (and I understand this is partially a decision made on the couple's part) is that even in pre-COVID times, this location felt very, very cramped, no matter what room/part of the wedding we were in. In pre-COVID times, it would have been merely annoying to bump into someone every time you turned around, but with COVID, it was incredibly uncomfortable, and I wound up leaving early. Usually weddings equal mediocre food, unenthusiastic staff and getting really drunk because of the aforementioned things and boredom- not here. The staff was fantastic- particularly Douglas, whom should run for president, or at least mayor of NYC because we need his energy right about now. Our cups were always full, be it wine, water or coffee- they even offered additional portions of the proteins during dinner (which I took them up on the fried chicken because it was amazing.) The place is super clean and we felt very safe COVID-wise. Their wines were delicious, although limited in varietals, most everyone will enjoy what they do have. Following that, we were introduced to Jessica our day of co-ordinator. let me tell you, we feel so truly lucky to have worked with her, she is absolutely brilliant. She was extremely organized and had every detail covered! Especially as we needed alot of hand holding - she was completely patient and really supported us through the whole process. We ended up booking alot of the suggested vendors, partly because they were priced most competitively but also because the Winery and vendors work seamlessly together - perhaps this was Jessica's special magic again but we didnt coordinate a single thing, it was all arranged for us. Especially on the day of - it couldnt had gone smoother. Jessica was like a dear friend on the day - she anticipated our every need and even carved out special moments for us to enjoy privately. As for the staff - they have the most superb team in there, there is this type of lovely energy about the team. They are so polite and friendly and truly can't do enough for either you or the guest. They are magic, and they made the day so special for us. They made everyone feel like VIP guests. We had a million compliments about the staff. Honestly, I could go on for about another ten pages. I love the ambiance of Brooklyn Winery! (Those succulents on the wall - gorg!) Several months ago, A and I were looking for a venue to hold an event and we went in spoke with one of the owners. He took the time to walk us around the space and showed us pictures as we went around so we could really get a clear visual of what they can do. Really nice guy. Alas, we couldn't shave down our guest list down to the number of people that BW could accommodate so we had to move on to other locations. Fast forward to December: Friends and I were looking for NYE plans; something festive and social (so, not just a dinner) but not packed with drunk, raucous people (so, not a club). Thanks to Time magazine, I found out that BW was throwing a NYE shindig and we quickly reserved our tickets. (Good thing too cuz it's sold out two days after we booked.) Fast forward again to NYE: We arrived a little past 9 and saw a small line gathered in front. (Uh-oh.) Luckily, the line moved quickly and we were in within minutes. The place looked great! They had put up a net of lights on the ceiling and some other decorations; the DJ was playing. On top of that, it was a masquerade themed party, so that's always fun. We put our coats in coat check and headed straight for the charcuterie table. What a spread! Various types of meats and cheeses and pickles and crackers. Waiters came around with hot hors d'oeuvres - chicken, fried cauliflower, shrimp in brioche roll. At the bar, they were serving several of their own wines, craft beers, specialty cocktails and lots & lots of sparkling wine. ^^ We all had a blast - eating, drinking, dancing. Several friends told me how glad they were that I found the place, that it was exactly what they had in mind for NYE and how gorgeous the space was. I was happy to see that the staff remained friendly all through the night, even at times where everyone was drinking and gathered at the bar; all too many times, on nights like this, service goes totally out the window... Having been here for various events and get-togethers, I will happily attest to the versatility of Brooklyn Winery. It is a great place to hold gatherings of all kinds, a destination where kids become adults and brides become wives. In this part of Williamsburg, it is the kind of place where memories are made. I've been here for both weddings, corporate events, and holiday parties and I've been surprised at how this place manages to transform itself every time. They've done an outstanding job with the catering, the wait staff, and I'm impressed with the level of detail that goes into their overall presentation. From cocktail parties to seated dinners, it's been really impressive how they've managed to do it for hundreds of people at a time. As the name implies, they're also a winery. From winery tours to wine tastings, they've got activities for all wine palates and interests. They've got an interesting variety of wine, not the best I've ever had per se, but I imagine any of these bottles (and bundles) would make a stellar gift. For serious wine-os, they've got a wine club that ships out wine directly to your doorstep every few months. If I could change anything about this place, it would be the ventilation. I know they have to keep their temps in check for the sake of the wine, but somehow the one drag during the summer is how hot it gets in here during their private events. I've seen ladies liquify their makeup from the heat and even people dripping on hors d'oeuvres. Makes one want to stick with the drinks exclusively. read more

The wine tasting is super fun & the sommelier was knowledgable and friendly. My family enjoyed the experience and it was fun to tour the winery. It's very small so the tour is quick but the experience of drinking all of the wine and discussing it was very memorable. I would say the wine did give me a huge headache though which is why I took away 1 star but it could be because of the sulfites (granted, most wine gives me a headache for this reason but for some reason my headache was especially bad here). I looooove wine! I saw a deal for $10 off a wine tour and tasting on Yelp and I quickly hopped on it. They had two tours that particular Tuesday....6:30pm & 8pm. The restaurant is beautiful! Very woodsy....gave me a Poconos cabin vibe. We went for the 6:30 tour and although we were late, the staff were very friendly and understanding, and quickly got us caught up. We put our coats up, received our souvenir wine glasses, got some Chardonnay in them, and joined the rest of the group. The group was rather small (about 8 people total). Our tour guide was Sarah. She was very nice, knowledgeable, and informative. She even went back to go over the little that we missed and answered all of our questions. Once the tour was over, the tasting began. We tasted about 8 different types of white and red wines. I'm not a fan of red wine at all so I drank them but didn't really enjoy them. I liked allllll the white wines. The Zinfandel was my least favorite and the Riesling was the best for me! The wine was so good and fresh and very potent. If you really liked one, Sarah would pour a little extra...Yasss honey! All the wines were available for sale at very reasonable prices. The tour is an hour...30 minute tour, 30 minute tasting. It also didn't take long for us to find parking in that area. I had this place booked marked for a while. A groupon is what really got the wheels moving. For $55.00 it included a wine tour, tasting, your choice of a cheese plate or charcuterie plate, along with an etched souvenir wine glass for two people. There were some very strong meats and cheeses, that I didn't like however; the plates also had some mild meats,and cheeses, along with bread, pickles, honey, nuts, spicy mustard, and Jam. The tasting consisted of approximately 12 samples of various wines, both white and reds. I enjoyed the Stainless Steel Aged Riesling, and the Pettit Sirah. Noel was a great tour guide, funny, and energetic. The staff were friendly. The atmosphere is comfortable and casual. I would definitely return to the Brooklyn Winery. read more

Showed up early for the happy hour which doesn't end until eight. $7 select glasses including Riesling, Chardonnay, and others. $3 olives and bar nuts during HH as well. Overall the service was great! We had Charly who took the time to help us decide on wines and walk us through the cheese plate. The tour itself was worth the money for me. It was guided and by the end I believe we tasted six or seven wines. My personal favorite, while it isn't on the happy hour or the tasting tour is the Cab Franc. Went here with a bunch of friends on a Sunday. Was pleasantly NOT packed, but boy do they have zero concept of air conditioning. I was happy to take the free wine tour because the wine was kept cooler than we were. My husband and I both had the Riesling flight ($17). They were actually good sized samples, more than just at a tasting. They were all enjoyable. The food was VERY good. I had the liverwurst (They were out of the duck pate) Lucky for me no one else was interested, so I had it all to myself. Also good was the broiled goat cheese and the pea salad. The staff was very nice- constantly refilling our water glasses, but it took us about 10 min to actually get the check. You would think that a winery will have a great wine selection, but that wasn't the case here. They only had two house whites and two reds. They didn't do cocktail - so if you were thinking about an old fashioned - you get four roses on the rocks! Very limited and low quality liquor. Three types or cheeses and meats - that's what you get all night; and three types of tiny subpar appetizers. Decor was okay and workers were nice. read more
