Words can't describe how impressed I am with Brooklyn Winery but I'll try... I recently hosted my wedding reception at the Brooklyn Winery Atrium space. We planned everything pretty close to the date and it was such a pleasant and uncomplicated experience. We planned all the details with Kara, one of the sales managers at BK Winery and she was super attentive, helpful and accommodating given that we planned the event on pretty short notice. We had excellent communication with her which is much appreciated when you have so many other things going on. We went for the cocktail package and extended the open bar for an extra hour since 3 hours felt a bit short. We also supplemented the reserve antipasti which included a few additions to the regular antipasti spread. In addition we brought our own cupcakes which they nicely set up in a cake tier towards the end of the event and our flowers which they also set up for us. When I came to drop these 2 last things off, a few hours before the event the room was still bare. Me and my husband showed up about 15 minutes early to make sure we were there before our guests...we were so amazed at how beautifully everything came together. The antipasti spread was set up by the wall that has the plants, decorated with candles old reclaimed wood boxes...it looked so tasteful and romantic. The open bar was discretely set in one of the corners and a few barrels served as drink tables with stools around them. The decor of the room was absolutely magical. Sean our point person for the evening was super nice, down to earth, professional and always there - as was the rest of the staff that attended the event. All the servers were super classy and helpful. Now for the food: Amazing!!! the antipasti was delicious and plentiful...whenever anything ran out they would replace it so there was always a good variety going. I made it a point to try as much as I could and I was happy I did. The cheeses in the antipasti were great, the turkey meatballs were outstanding and so were the rest of the passed appetizers. We chose the steak tartare, fluke crudo, salmon bites, kimchee cupcakes and bahn mi portobello sliders. They were all delicious! The wine selection was great, 2 reds (cab and zinfandel) 2 whites (reisling and chardonnay). I'm usually not a fan of chardonnay but I ended up having this one all night and it was great. I also heard some rave reviews for the zinfandel. When the end time for the event was approaching, the staff discretely told the guests that it was last call and little by little they started picking up. At no point did it feel intrusive or like we were being kicked out - it was all very well calculated and done in a very classy way. All in all it was exactly what we wanted and even surpassed our expectations. Brooklyn Winery made this such a memorable night for us, and our guests were also raving about how beautiful the place was and how much they enjoyed the evening. I wouldn't think twice about hosting another event here and really hope to have another occasion for it in the future! read more

Great place!! Came here for a Wedding shower. They have a back room that we were in for a private party. Very nice. They did a great job. The hostess was lovely. She greeted us warmly when we arrived. SHe was very accommodating and nice. We walked through the bar which was pretty large with community tables. Really nice and neat. This was a catered event so they had food for us......we actually ate it all too! The food was good and nicely presented. They wine was very nice also. The service was flawless. At the end of the night, the hostess offered to call us a car which was nice. Bathrooms were nice. I don't live in Brooklyn but when I come again, I would certainly come here again! read more

Nothing ever truly always goes as planned. I found this little winery on Yelp and fell in love with the photos. I did my research and boarded the L Train to Brooklyn, in hopes of having a flight of wine at this unique establishment. Well not everything goes as planned. I overlooked a minor detail, one that perhaps happens annually and is actually a pretty huge deal in America. It turns out that since Brooklyn Winery was having an Oscar watching party that night, there would be no tours, tastings, or flights. I was really disappointed after hearing these news since this was the only day during my trip that the winery would be open. The kind waitress noticed my dismay and offered us the best customer service possible. Since flights weren't available, she suggested creating our own. We ordered three different wines and she gave us four extra glasses so that we would still be able to try the wines and have a good time. This meant so much to me. Any other person would just slap a "rules are rules" excuse and let it be. She truly went above and beyond. Our waitress also gave us awesome suggestions of things to do in Brooklyn. She was a compassionate young lady and it really showed. The wines we ordered were the Gewürztraminer, Skin Fermented Chardonnay, and Old Vine Zinfandel. The Gewürztraminer was delightfully crisp and refreshing. It is made of elderflower which contributes to its floral taste. The next one was tried was the Skin Fermented Chardonnay which confuses me a bit with its name. This wine was a unique blend of apricots, black tea, and honey. It had a very round flavor and a unique cloudy experience. It had a milder and neutral taste making it a great everyday wine. The Old Vine Zinfandel had a tart velvety flavor. I thoroughly enjoyed the wines here, but what gave it a special place in my heart was the atmosphere and the people. The rustic wood, fresh cut wildflowers, and swinging jazz made it the perfect setting for a night (or day) with the girls, a romantic date, or a beautiful wedding. The attention to detail is eminent with the vintage artwork and ornate ceilings. They really did an incredible job at creating a unique space in Brooklyn. This place is definitely worth a visit, but be sure to check the calendar before you visit. It's a super popular event space, so there are things happening all of the time. The winery offers many of food options as well. The windows offer the best lighting, so photo ops galore! read more

Came here last Friday night and happily timed it exactly on time for their 5.30p tour & tasting of the winery. Overall this place is lovely, the wines are pretty great & if you are stumped on what to have the staff is excellent with recommendations. The tour itself was under one hour and explained in detail the whole wine process (I knew nothing). I plan on coming back for sure ... great place, friendly people, excellent wine. Came here on a Wednesday night around 6:15 and there were only a couple of other tables occupied. You can get a flight for $20 (choose your own) or choose a premade combo for less. The shared items were good but was eventually too sweet. Everything had some type of sweet sauce or honey on it. I love this place. I love them. I love their wine! The customer service was superb! We had the back room on the 2nd floor without reservations btw and the service kept coming! We tried the pinot noir, champagne, sparkling and another bottle of something else. They know their drinks and what goes well with the wines! We also tried the cheese and meat board. It complemented the wine SO well. I cant recall anything! Just ask them and they'll know. I been to Napa a LOT of the time and their wines are UP there with the vineyards! My friend told them it was my birthday and they absolutely refused to let me pay even when I snuck out to try to pay some of the bill lol. When my fiance and I came to Brooklyn Winery, we had already made the decision to go to sleep for the night. We were crashing with friends in Williamsburg, and we got locked out of their apartment with an hour or so to kill before they got home. Brooklyn Winery looked welcoming, and we went in as much for warmth as for anything else. I'm glad we wandered in, because the place was fantastic. It was pretty calm close to midnight, and I liked the cozy, glowing ambiance. The darkness and warmth was just what we wanted on a cold night. We sat at the bar, and the service was excellent. The wine was great, and unexpectedly, bottled by Brooklyn Winery. I guess the winery gets grapes from California and elsewhere, then blends the wines in Brooklyn. There were over a dozen different Brooklyn Winery wines on the menu, offered individually or in flights. Feeling curious, we drank one of the many flights. We ordered the Big-Bigger-Biggest flight, which featured the Old Vine Zinfandel, the Syrah, and the Royal Tannin Bomb. These were all delicious, full-bodied red wines, and they worked well together in sequence. My fiance and I both favor big wines, and these were right up our alley. Also nice - the pours were almost ridiculously large. Brooklyn Winery also serves food, and the menu seemed interesting enough. If I lived nearby, I'd try the place for dinner, and I'd certainly be back for more wine. We enjoyed our last little drink in Williamsburg, and thought it was fitting that it involved a wine called the Royal Tannin Bomb. Brooklyn isn't exactly a wine mecca, but I liked Brooklyn Winery just fine. read more

Finally made it here!! Countdown starts now! This time next year we'll be having our wedding here at this beautiful winery. We've decided to start our one year wedding countdown here last night & we're so happy we did. The staff here were AMAZING. None of that pretentious vibe was felt here. Everyone was so friendly, down to Earth and just super welcoming. We were greeted with a glass of their brut to start and a beautiful cheese and charcuterie plate. Additionally, we ordered their roasted brussels sprouts (I could eat the whole plate by myself), turkey & golden raisin meatball slider (perfect portion), crispy soy glazed chicken (the sweet potato mixed in there was brilliant) & the ricotta toast topped with stone fruit, basil, drizzled with balsamic glaze all on this toasted airy sourdough bread (my fave). Everything was superb and mouthwatering. I wish I had room in my stomach to order more, but we'll save it for next time. I'm so happy Brooklyn Winery opened back up for outdoor dining & I look forward to visiting more often. read more

Stopped in here over the weekend. Please note, they do not open until 1pm on Sundays. I like the wine flights that they had. $18 for 3 glasses of wine, not bad. Our waitress, Ashley was really nice and very accommodating. We ordered a few small plates: the brussel sprouts with bacon: amazing; the cheese plate: fabulous (you get goat cheese, blue cheese and gouda along with honey and nuts); kale salad: very tasty and the fried calamari salad: absolutely amazing. I thought the wine was okay, not a huge fan, but not bad. We did the wine tour. Our tour guide, Noelle, was very knowledgeable but I felt like the tour become a little too long after a while. Additionally, I wish they would give you some free samples on the tour and they didn't. Cute place though and something different to do with a few people when you have a free weekend. read more

I had bought two spots to the wine tour they were offering for a friend's birthday. At first, we weren't sure what to expect since the place looked a bit small. You know the saying, "Small things big personality?" well it applies to here [in a good way]. It was super easy to make a reservation for the tour and when we arrived 30 minutes early, the hostess was very friendly. She gave us our tickets which we could redeem for a cheese or meat plate or a glass of wine. My friend got a glass of wine while we waited. Before the tour took place, they took us up to a small room where they gave us each our own wine glass with the "Brooklyn Winery" engraved in it [you get to keep it]. We got to taste a bit of white wine while we waited for the tour to begin. Although, since my friend already had a glass, she double fisting her wine of glass with samples. Before the tour began, they allowed us to leave our stuff in a locked room where we would be visiting again to have more flights. The tour itself was very short, there was only two rooms in which we walked through but the tastings they gave had a very generous pour. The tour guide was very friendly and tried hard at being funny but I guess we were a tough crowd because no one really laughed. I believe we had roughly 12 tastings. I couldn't remember I got completely wasted after the 2nd flight and kept giggling [I don't really drink at all]. My friend on the other managed to finish all of my tastings and hers and she ordered more wine during dinner. Overall, the tour was very fun and informative and definitely worth the money if you are oenophile. After the tour was finished, they did lead you downstairs where you could redeem your ticket or you can enjoy a causal dinner with drinks. We got the cheese plate and it was a good size serving and buttermilk chicken bites, which was a bit smaller but just as delicious as the cheese plate. If you are going for drinks, I would definitely recommend the cheese plate. It was really good. I would recommend signing up for their loyalty card because you earn points when you buy food, drinks and bottles of wine for free stuff. read more

I knew Brooklyn had the good beer (my go-to beer is the Brooklyn Lager), but I had no idea they were in the wine business too! The Brooklyn Winery is truly a gem in Brooklyn. The atmosphere is excellent. A somewhat, modern-cool feel for the inside bar and lovely summer/spring feel in the outdoor garden space. The service was attentive and friendly. We went for the "First Taste" event where they were premiering three new wines - a riesling, chardonnay, and pinot noir. I would buy a bottle of all three! A random person asked us which was our favorite and, although we all enjoyed them all, none of us had the same favorite. I was also super satisfied with the appetizers that were served. I particularly enjoyed the lamb meatballs and mushroom crostinis! Although I am an UWS, I will definitely make my way back to this winery for more great wine, food, and atmosphere! read more

And the wine flights are a great way to taste some of their favorites. But I'd also say we were also very impressed by the food. They had some of the best brussel sprouts I've ever had - delicate and delicious. Don't pass them up. Seriously. Communal tables are great for large groups. I came here for the "Thinking Local" Coolhaus event because I wanted to get another taste of Coolhaus delicious ice cream sandwiches. I walked in and the winery looked really nice. But the odd thing is they don't sell their own wine. However, you can come and make your own Chilean wine though. So since they have the tools necessary to make wine I just found it odd they don't sell it. *shrugs shoulders* Anyways, I walked over to the bar and told the bartender I was here for the event. He checked my name off the list and gave me a ticket good for one ice cream sandwich. He also gave me a few red wine selections to choose from and I was ready to go. I ordered the Malbec. I walked over to the Coolhaus table and was greeted by a couple of friendly ladies. I took the liberty to try some ice cream samples and settled on the peanut butter ice cream with red velvet cookies. The combo was delicious. I was happy with my decision. I then wanted to order something from the menu. The Moroccan flank steak stood out to me. I ordered it and it was really good. I usually order my steak medium well but the server there said they only prepare the steak medium rare because its a thin steak. ??? Ok I guess. The steak was good but a bit on the chewy side and it was a little more pink than what I'm used to. But I enjoyed the meal, especially the herb couscous salad. What I really liked is they served water in a wine bottle. Of course you can pour it into a glass but I usually am served water in a pitcher or carafe. It was cute. read more

Update of how the situation was handled: The winery had incredible customer service!! The owner or manager (I'm not completely sure) did reach out to me and was mortified about the situation. She called and assured me that the wine sniffing is not a practice they participate in post-pandemic. She also informed me that she did have a meeting with the staff and individually with our original server to reiterate their restaurant safety practices. We were invited back and had a complimentary gift to our table. The service was as impeccable as the first time (apart from the incident). It truly was an excellent experience. All of the food and wine we had were absolutely delicious. I really appreciated how to situation was all handled! Will definitely be returning and will definitely recommend it! read more

The Brooklyn Winery is the cutest place to meet up with your friends or go on a date. I ordered the al fresco wine flight, as it is summertime and I wanted something refreshing - it started with a sparkling white, white, then rose. All 3 of the wines were delicious and were good pours. We ordered the cheese board as well, and it was perfect for the 3 of us. They prefer you make reservations. Do it! You'll love it! Not too expensive either. $18 for the flight and $18 for the cheese board. It's right off the L train too, so it's convenient to get to. read more

Recently, my husband and I celebrated our wedding reception at Brooklyn Winery. We had an intimate group of 20 of our nearest and dearest and The Atrium offered the most perfect space for us to mingle, have dinner, and dance the night away! The space is warm, romantic and rustic. The absolute hero is the green wall - just gorgeous! The events team went above and beyond over the past 10 months to answer every question and ensure every request was executed. They are all about the details! The menu options are extensive and the food is delicious. For the main course we served lamb AND roast chicken, plus delectable sides of smashed horseradish potatoes and roast veggies. Plus the food for our cocktail hour was bang on and our guests loved the antipasto spread! Such a beautiful venue to have an intimate wedding/reception! I envisioned their vertical garden inside my own home while I waited for the bride to make her appearance. I thought the staff was quite attentive but otherwise allowed the guests to mingle amongst each other. The hors d'oeuvres were delicious, and they have a vegan-friendly food menu. I came here with my cousin for a tour and we had a great experience. I found the tour on yelp and it was only for $25. We sampled like 7 wines and it was nice to be educated about the wine making process. Our tour guide Sarah was very nice and informative. It was an intimate group of 6 at the tour and the decor of the winery was beautiful. My girl friend and I got a Living Social deal for a tour and tasting here. Over all it was a cool experience and the wine bar itself is a great spot! Having gone to wineries both in the US and abroad, Brooklyn winery's wines pale in comparison to others where the terroir and the weather are just fantastic for wine. That said, they do make some decent wines for table drinking and it's always great to have local businesses like this. And the fact that it's right here in NYC is pretty cool. So while I didn't leave thinking OMG I need to have that wine again it's definitely a spot I'll keep in mind if I'm hanging out with friends in Williamsburg or if I have friends in town. read more

My friend and I stayed after a tour and tasting at Brooklyn Winery (part of the Yelp Brooklyn Born series) and enjoyed more wine and some food at the bar because we just couldn't leave. This place is gorgeous - from their reclaimed wood to their living wall installations. Their wines are excellent (so much so that my friend and I each bought bottles to bring home) and their food, from what we had, is scrumptious. What more could you want? We had more of their 2012 stainless steel aged riesling, a wine with grapes from the Finger Lakes. To accompany the wine, we shared the cured olives and the brussel sprouts (with candied orange and a maple butter). Get these. I already want to go back and eat more. I am so glad to learn that Brooklyn Winery exists and makes such a high quality product. Do yourself a favor and stop by the next time you're in Williamsburg. read more

If you are looking for some place with great wine, reasonably priced wine, or good service, look elsewhere! My rating is based on the quality and value of the food, which was outstanding. I tried a few wines and found them not great to OK, but lacking anything that makes them special, and I was particuarly disappointed that my Riesling was served just slightly warmer than I enjoy RED wines! Food was worth returning for though: everything other than the calamari salad was an exceptional value, and even that dish was probably worth the price. Falafel was truly elevated, as was the squash and beet salad. About the service: about 30 minutes after we ordered, our server stopped by and told us, "your food should be here soon." Well intentioned but poorly executed: of course it should--it's small plates and we ordered 30 minutes ago. How about "hey, sorry the food has taken so long" or "I just checked for you and the food WILL be out shortly". read more

Their space is lovely - the high ceilings and completely open front is perfect for COVID times - and the service is great. We got a flight and the wine itself is a bit hit and miss (red seems overall better than white) but it's great value. Would definitely go back to sample more from the winery and enjoy the great ambience. read more

Full disclosure: I am getting married here so I am a little biased. The staff is amazing, everyone we have interacted with has been so kind, personable and knowledgeable. Every experience here from planning our wedding, attending a wine tasting or just coming in for a bite has been exceptional. I almost don't want people to know how great Brooklyn Winery is but they deserve the recognition. Now more than ever we should be supporting local businesses. We knew we wanted to get married in Brooklyn and we wanted it to be a reflection of us as a couple. From the minute we toured the Winery I knew it was the place we were going to get married. Emily and her amazing team made the process as easy as possible. The Winery itself is the perfect canvas for a romantic feel. The glow of the ceremony/dining room is what dreams are made of. The food was amazing and I loved that it was family style, everyone ate so much and loved our dinner. I loved that there was so much included in booking the space (candles, candle holders, day of event manager, food + dessert, the beautiful eclectic plates & silverware, alcohol). Because the Winery is so beautiful, if you want, you can cut back on flowers (which we didn't) and lighting (which we also didn't). But you could if you wanted to save a little extra and not get those things! The Brooklyn Winery completed the whole vision we had for our wedding. I wouldn't have changed a thing! Easily one of the top days of my life was spent here, my big sister's wedding. That's why I'm giving it my 800th review. The night is right up there with that time I had a pet raccoon for six hours, and the time I lived with Wade Boggs, or the day I spent wandering through a dark cave thinking I had turned blind and was going to train myself to become Daredevil but actually just couldn't see in the dark. * Upon arrival they had everything for the people in the wedding. Bites to eat, wine the drink, and last second necessities for those who needed to touch themselves up for the cameras. Thank god for that hair gel. After awhile I was dragged away from the delicious cheese and wine pairings to take the before mentioned pictures. Ugh, cmon can't people just remember these things. (My sister actually had a video created that looked like something P. Diddy produced) The reception was beautiful and went without a hitch. My sister looked stunning and she couldn't have married a better guy. The place is easily one of the top wedding venues in all of Brooklyn. I had heard of they did weddings when I came for a tour of the winery before, but until you see one here in person you have no idea how wonderful one here can be. After the reception drinking resumed, but only after a quick step outside. Upon entering back in I wanted to go back to the groomsmen room, on the second floor, right above the water valve attached the building. Convenient enough the window was open and I had easy access into the place by hopping on the valve. Glad I went up there, I was able to get some great shots of my sister and father dance. They had wine and beer at the party, the food was amazing at dinner, the staff really went to town. It was a magical night in Brooklyn. Loved the Brooklyn Winery tour! I live in Crown Heights so I've been going to BKW since they opened and was glad to finally make it over to do the tour! It was really interesting to learn more about how their wines are made and to taste almost all of them. I think we spent about an hour with the tour guide and tasting - she did an excellent job! The unoaked is my favorite every time! It was great to get a discount on bottles post tour as well! They were doing an event in the big room with the plant wall and it looked beautiful! If I ever planned an event in NYC, I would love to use this venue. read more

I got married at Brooklyn Winery and absolutely loved it! It was the first venue we saw and I immediately love it. We saw many other venues and none compared at all, in my opinion. The space is so charming and unique. Our wedding was perfect. And the whole experience with BK Winery was great. Jenn took so much time to explain every detail and answered all of my many questions. She was so wonderful! As was Emily, who ran the entire event so smoothly and was so helpful with everything the month of the wedding! We really liked the concept of a full dinner and then dancing after, which was a little different than the other weddings we had been to. The food at dinner was outstanding. We were able to try all the options at the group tasting a couple of months before the wedding and we both loved all of the dishes. The wine was great, too! I was married here on June 8th 2014. The experience could not have been better. Emily and the Brooklyn Winery staff did the most amazing job a bride could hope for. I received compliments all night about how wonderful the staff was, how excellent the food is, how beautiful the space was, and how perfect the wedding was. I can not take credit for any of this other than signing the paperwork and finding the spot. The bkwinery staff planned and executed everything (other than flowers and photographer, and flowers weren't even really necessary). I am still getting phone calls and texts from guests telling us that it was "the best wedding" they have ever been to. read more

"It was love.....at first sight" After touring quite a few hotels/restaurants in the area, my fiance and I quickly came to the conclusion that the Brooklyn Winery was where we wanted to host our wedding ceremony/reception. Everything was A+. Rachel, whom we started with, gave a tour that not only was individual to our taste but also put an idea in our heads as to what kind of night to expect, with a full vision that was clear when we walked out! Once we settled up (we did a full buy out_130+ guests) we were handed over to the very capable hands of Jessica, who became our go-to person for the wedding. Everything from cake, flowers and photobooth to menu tasting, execution and coordination of staff, family, photos, food, dj ect was taken care of. This was extremely stress free and for that, we are eternally grateful! The food; oh the food was delicious! Most items you will not find on their main menu but TRSUT when I tell you it is delicious. Every single one of our guests have complimented and thanked us for not having "standard wedding food". When we went into our first meeting, Daniel and I told Rachel that the NUMBER ONE priority was food. We were not disappointed. I would highly suggest anyone looking for a wedding venue, to give the winery a tour. We added in touches that obviously made our night personal to us, but the aesthetic, the location (we live a few blocks away), the food and the AMAZING STAFF truly contributed to a perfect evening for us and our guests.
