    Food was amazing, their fish sandwich was delicious! Love their Duck pho as well! Their egg roll is little overpriced but overall is good. Service was excellent and the decoration is clean and neat.

    Came to Falansai for the Lunar Dac Biet Collab with Chef Clarice and Christine experience and was looking to enjoy some good Viet fusion food. Unfortunately for me, it missed the spot for me considering the Vietnamese influence in the dishes were very little IMO. I would say this is bit of a trendy place to say you've been here and overall was not enough to convince me to come back here for some good Asian grub in the future. Small cozy restaurant with very great service, but food is a bit overpriced for above average dishes.

    I went to this excellent Vietnamese place with some Mexican influences a good while back as per most of my recent reviews. We were originally going to go here in a pretty big group but then there were major issues on the L train where the other folks from Manhattan weren't able to go and some other people got delayed heavily. They were very understanding as it seems a lot of people there couldn't show up and the staff in general was very friendly. Anyway, as we had less people (2 originally which became three instead of the original six I believe,) our menu changed heavily of course. The prices have gone up by comparison with some dishes also getting a slightly different description or with a different ingredient which I'll note. To drink I had their Vietnamese Iced Coffee/Cà Phê Sữa Đá which was $6 and listed from Nguyen Coffee Supply which was pretty good though I prefer the Vietnamese place by me which uses a different better coffee brand. The best of the appetizers and possibly the best dish of the night was the Confit Duck Necks listed as sweet sour, spicy, salty, umami, and fall off the bone tender for $18 which is the same price now. It was good enough that we ordered a second round once the other person showed up. The duck necks had a fun texture with an addictive sweet and slightly sour sauce to them almost BBQ like but not exactly. The bit of pickled onions on there was a good touch and some welcome extra sourness. If you don't mind getting a bit dirty, it's probably easier to eat these by hand as it's a bit hard to get the meat off otherwise but it's well worth it. While waiting, we also ordered the Dad's Egg Rolls which were listed with Berkshire pork, wood ear mushrooms, lettuce wraps, and fish sauce vinaigrette which were $12 back then and now $15. I'm also pretty positive that it used to be a mix of shrimp and pork because I remember it having a distinctly bounciness as there was a whole shrimp inside. Anyway, they were very tasty and would probably still be tasty even without the shrimp now but they were more notable prior. The other guy got the Turnip Cake 'Banh Mi' for $16 which isn't on the current menu which I had a little bit of. I remember it having a distinct sauce on the side maybe that tasted a bit fermented which had fermented bean curd/chao (or furu in Chinese spots) if I recall correctly which added a nice flavor and he liked the texture. For main dishes, we got two. Better of the two was actually the cheaper one which was the Blazed and Glazed which used to be listed as Berkshire pork shoulder, salsa verde, herb bomb, and farm egg for $28 which is now $34 and made with beef instead. Outside of the salsa verde, the shoulder had a preparation very similar to pork chops found in most Vietnamese restaurants with and there definitely being some lemongrass flavor let alone the rice and egg that usually comes with the other dish (I presume it's based on Sườn Nướng.) The salsa verde was a novel extra touch but I generally didn't bother with it as the park was good enough on its own. We otherwise got the Five Spice Lamb Neck listen under the XL dishes toasted chili, avocado, refried beans, sobre masa tortillas, and salsa for $48. This dish definitely has the strongest Mexican influence outside of hints of five spice. The lamb was pretty big and was very tender going well with the pillowy tortillas from Sobre Masa. The flavors weren't as bold as the other dishes but it was solid. The food here is tasty. They lean more on the Vietnamese side than the Mexican side which I don't mind as the flavors were solid and the one dish that was more on the Mexican side was likely my least favorite. They unfortunately either got rid of or changed up some dishes I had when I went there but I'd go back likely for either the Dac Biet or the Super Dac Biet as both sound delicious. Low 4

    My favorite restaurant! Very good with food allergies and their hot sauce is the best! Been coming here for eight years. Very very good food! Great date night spot! Able to be rented out for private events!

    What a gem in Brooklyn! Good food at a reasonable price. Go empty stomach cos they feed you like crazy. I have been following chef Eric's story for a while and have been eyeing this place. I finally made it! I expected good food but did not expect such amazing flavors tbh So highly recommend the Dac Biet menu, which btw they don't offer if you are seated outside I won't spoil the menu for you by writing each flavor. I went in blind and was pleasantly Surprised. It has an amazing variety of fish and meat combining both Asian and Mexican flavors Think tacos, ceviche, tune friend rice, grilled fish all with a variety of their special sauces and pickled veggies There's one dish with an eggplant sauce that's simply out of the world. Just when you think you cannot eat anymore and there's nothing on the menu that couple top what you had so far, they bring out their dessert. It's a witty end to the meal. It's fresh from the coconut, texture from chia, and meatiness from jackfruit They have wine pairings that are reasonably priced but if you have a small stomach I'd say save on the drinks and make way for the food.

    Above par everything. I am so glad we picked this restaurant for dining! It was excellent value, delicious. Our server was friendly, funny, and on top of the party's allergies. We had a fun night hanging out in their lovely, lively spot. Would love to go back if we are in the neighborhood again!

    super cool place well decorated. got there with a res at 6:30 but the place really filled up by 7:30 a tad loud had to yell at bit to my table viet and mexican which made for extra colorful plates super tasty their duck neck is unique with a tangy bbq sauce they forgot our skewers but we were full rich dessert

    Came here on a date night with my partner and we decided to go with the "Dac Biet" family style tasting menu. With this we got a truckload of delicious food (see the pictures), all filled with delicious flavors and the right amount of spice (seriously every dish had some level of heat that paired perfectly with the protein or vegetable it was cooked / presented with). You can definitely get a taste of the Mexican / vietnamese fusion! One qualm was that we were asked up front around food preferences and stated we preferred dishes without cilantro (I know I know - it's Mexican & vietnamese), but they told us they could accommodate us - so we were happy. However multiple dishes came out with cilantro in or on them (even after we politely pointed it out the first time). Usually not a big deal, but after spending $200+ on food and them asking us upfront, seemed a bit off. Also, it was very easy to get here (a few blocks off the L), the ambiance was very cozy yet fun, and the service was friendly and attentive! While all the food was delicious and we left very satisfied and full, I think for the price, the choose your own adventure (e.g; picking a la carte) is the way to go, and we will def do that next time! The rest of the menu looked tasty as we saw other tables getting dishes like dads fried rice, spring rolls, steamed fish, and the duck neck (would def try these next time).

    One of the best Vietnamese meals you can have in NYC. The spicy red curry was our favorite, probably followed by the nam dua (mushrooms with rice noodles). Dad's egg rolls, tuna crunch, squash dumplings, beef skewers, and dad's fried rice were also all amazing. I was more torn on the fisherman's noodle, but partially because we were all full by the time it came. The chocolate ganache cake for dessert was excellent.

    What a cozy and inviting space! I opted for the Dac Biet experience with the additional wine pairing. SO GOOD. The staff were super knowledgeable and friendly. I couldn't recommend this place more!

    A semi high end Vietnamese Mexican fusion cuisine. Not the typical Pho place you'll expect. Menu is small but can tell it was well thought out. Tried only a few dishes but the flavor was good if you want a different exercise. Book reservations on the weekend ahead of time as the main dining room only has a few tables.

We learned where they were sourced and how the flavors were informed by the environment. We were also walked through the process of tasting the wine and some unique tips on analyzing the flavor profile. After the tasting and tour we had the option of purchasing a bottle of wine at a discount. I left with the Barbera - excited to try! Justin created a very easeful environment which encouraged community, open dialogue and laughter. No fluff here! It was definitely an educational experience. The easy going and kind nature of the staff definitely influenced the ambiance. I came with one friend and left with four new ones! And the space is breathtaking - lots of light and free flowing air.
