The smokiness of the crab when paired with the esquites on the tostada also left an almost addictive aftertaste from the dish. Hazelnut duck mole was also great, would've loved a thicker layer of mole on the tamale but splitting hairs a little at this point. Have historically found tamales to be a bit hit or miss with regards to moisture and seasoning and this was perfectly moist (neither too soggy nor too dry) and just seasoned enough to be a little savoury while being a sturdy base to mop up the hazelnut sauce. Ambiance (4/5) - A little too noisy when we arrived but as the crowd thinned out was a great environment to sit and catch up. Could be a little dark with respect to seeing your food though Service (4/5) - Were served promptly and wait staff were friendly. Price (3/5) - Average for the area and a bit on the steep side, ran us 50 per person without drinks or dessert but well worth it for the craftsmanship.

My father and husband ordered the asada yucateca, which they both enjoyed but felt was cooked more rare than medium rare. My brother, who lives in Brooklyn and we were visiting, ordered the pollo en mole cassero. He liked it and noted it was spicy. The prices were reasonable and we loved that it wasn't so loud. My favorites were the Fanta watermelon and Fanta melon soda. After we explored what the grocery store had to offer, we went to check out the speakeasy. The atmosphere was very chill and service was great and friendly. At first, we were going to order individually, but after looking at the menu, we ended up ordering quite a bit so we could all try the food. Although we all had our favorites, everything we tried was amazing. The creativity that went into each dish and drink let's you know this isn't an average fusion spot!
