    Black Sesame Chicken Enchiladas
    Morlene C.

These days the word fusion is so overused as to be rendered meaningless, which pretty much sums up the experience here. They serve Mexican food with some Asian flavors, like aguachile with yuzu habanero and chicken enchiladas with black sesame. The dishes themselves tasted alright but the flavors are neither cohesive nor bold enough to be evidently a mix of two cuisines. The enchiladas tasted perfectly fine but if you didn't tell me the sauce had black sesame in it I wouldn't even know. Similar with the yuzu habanero aquachile-- it wasn't so evident what was Asian about this dish. They do have more explicitly Asian dishes on the menu like dumplings and bao buns but I suspect they would not have stood out to me at all. The place is small and no frills, though there are some cut murals on the walls.

I'm honestly really disappointed. I paid $30 for THREE enchiladas, and the quality did not match the price at all. On top of that, it didn't even come with rice or any sides, just three enchiladas by themselves, which made it feel even more overpriced. The portion size was small for what you're paying, and while the presentation looked nice at first glance, the actual taste and overall experience just didn't live up to expectations. The sauce was dry and lacking flavor, which made the whole dish feel off. It didn't taste fresh, and definitely not like something worth $30. At that price point, I expect much better flavor, quality ingredients, and a more complete meal. I really wanted to like this place, but this felt like a waste of money. I wouldn't order this again.

Stopped by for lunch on a Friday afternoon on the recommendation of a chef from one of my favorite Mexican places and I really enjoyed my meal here. Everything here was delicious and made with so much care. I also appreciated that despite being Mexican Asian fusion that it wasn't overly reliant on just pairing spicy foods like kimchi with cheese and calling it a day. 1- Birria Bao Buns: Nice lightly sweet dough that worked well with the rich birria. It's soft but the sear gave a nice bite and they were very addictive. 2- Black Aguachile: My party's favorite dish of the day. The sauce base was very tangy, which paired perfectly with the meaty pieces of fried calamari and large pieces of octopus and shrimp. The tanginess was tampered down a bit with the squid ink but it's definitely on the more acidic side. Served with taro chips which went great with all the nice tangy onion. 3- Surf and Turf Roll: If you like specialty rolls, this is definitely a good one. It's a little pricey, but the ingredients are fairly high-quality. A great balance of rice to filling and the cucumber goes well with the fatty beef and flavorful chimichurri 4- Ramen de Pancita: Another favorite. The tripe was so tender and the broth was light but hearty. The noodles got soft a bit fast though so don't let it sit! 5- 2 Ways Cooked Whole Fish: Loved this take on a whole fish! The zarandeado fish was smokey and so well spiced and the bone tempura was so fun to eat. Some crevices of the fish were a bit overly oily but the papaya salad and the quinoa helped balance it well. The only downside is the red snapper was a little fishy 6- Fried Lemongrass Rice Pudding: We were told this was the restaurant's take on fried ice cream and it was such a unique spin. The lemongrass paired so well with the berry sauce. The rice pudding was also relatively think which worked well since the batter was a. It heartier. Overall we had a great experience. The service was attentive without being overbearing and the atmosphere of the restaurant was perfect for a casual girls lunch, but would also work for a nicer dinner. Food 4/5 Service and atmosphere 5/5

Food is good. The mixes of Chinese and Spanish food they offer is perfect. Options are limited and portion size it....decent however for the price. Wish there was more, my friend and I wound up ordering four dishes, sharing them and still being slightly hungry afterwards. (An appetizer, two entrées, and a dessert.) I will say that their drinks are 100% the price and they come with ice cream on them. I'm not a man person, but I loved my Matcha drink that came with an ice cream. It's a small place. With a simple effective decor. A secular bathroom is in the back behind the bar near the kitchen. Server was friendly, and very helpful with recommendations.

Yesssss a Mexican Chinese fusion spot that slaps. Great quality food. Great drinks. We got the wagyu dumplings and the classic aguachies, both on point. We also got the black sesame enchiladas which were great. The lamb shank looked unreal, so we will be back to try that out. The churro was absolutely fantastic. Will def come back to try the rest of the menu.

Asian latino flavors are known but also feel as a new blend of flavors. We had our favorites but everything was top notch. Definitely be back to try more. Service is excellent.
