Food was decent. We got sat right away when walking in on a Tuesday night. I got a platter, I would try something else if I went back.

Overall rating: 4.5 Price: $21 w/ tax & tip I used to come here all the time when I lived in the area. Still standing strong. Loved their brunches, but went in for a quick taco. I got the Al Pastor tacos which were alright. Nothing too special. Probably good have gotten better, cheaper tacos nearby.. I was starving so it still filled me. But I've had better. That said the service was soo nice. Left me alone but still asked if I needed anything. Super quick. I was in and out for 30 minutes.

A must to visit anytime in New York. The food was amazing! And the service even better. The staff was very accommodating to our needs and the ambiance is very soothing and relaxing.

Oooooh boy, is this place great! This restaurant features some of the best Mexican food in Brooklyn. Everything is super savory. My go-to is the enchiladas verde. Solid Guac and chips as well! This past trip I also tried the tortilla soup which was very tasty and smokey. The staff always super kind and helpful. The restaurant itself is cozy even when it's busy.

First trip to Brooklyn NYC and we wanted to try something local and truly NY. So Mexican food it is! Service was impeccable. The charming young host welcomed us like it was his own home. The brisket tacos are tasty. The chicken quesadillas were juicy and delicious. The mushroom tacos were unbelievably good...had that umami in spades. Cosy little place in a lively and diverse neighbourhood. Muchos gracias

I had a great experience here! I liked the nice atmosphere, which was lively without being too loud. We started with the guacamole, which was great. It came with a unique salsa and homemade corn chips. I ordered the Chile Relleno Vegetariano for my main, which is a vegetarian stuffed pepper. It looked small at first, but ended up being the perfect portion in combination with the chips & guacamole. It was delicious! The ingredients melded so well together and I especially liked that the pumpkin seeds provided a good crunch to the dish. One of my friends really liked her tacos, but my friend who ordered the chicken enchiladas verdes said that while the flavor was good, the dish was a bit dry. It seems that based on our experience and the Yelp reviews, some dishes are a hit and some are a miss. Luckily, my dishes were a hit and overall I think is a good local spot!

Food delicious, classic Mexican, not pretentious , service on point, not overbearing. Ambience; this is a beautiful place, the sun radiates, the wood, the mirrors,.

We decided that is our last time here. We have been coming for a year and were loving it initially but the food is getting worse each time we are here. Today was the bottom. The fish tacos we got were the worst we got here. And one of them had a very bad smell. We told the waiter just to inform and all we got was 'ah sorry'. Like it was expected after paying $14 for a spoon size of guac and $18 for 3 sad looking tacos. The drinks are missing tequila as well. Very sad to give up on our fav Williamsburg mexican place but we gave them 3 shots. Thinking maybe 'they were having a bad day' or 'maybe it was us' but It only got worse each time. Today we are sure it's them. Ambiance is getting better for sure though. They have this high table now.

What can I complain about this restaurant? My personally favorite thing to eat here looks like none of them. My husband loves here because they have steak and eggs for breakfast. I'm in other hand. I already tried grilled fish, ceviche shrimp or other dishes. None is my cup of tea, honestly. Today I order Nopal Asado; it is grilled cactus top with Oaxacan cheese and rajas con crema. I kind of like it. I know now what should I order when I come to this Maxican place. Limitation of food I like but I can make it works.

I had high hopes for dinner here given the inclusion of a few dishes that are rare around these parts. Chiles en nogada and huitlacoche tacos? Sign me up anytime. We ended up sharing elotes and guac, and I had the aforementioned huitlacoche tacos. Sadly these were not the same well-marinated morsels bursting with flavor that I remembered from my last time having them at Calaca. Not bad at all, but at the same time not especially memorable.

This place is absolutely incredible! The experience from start to finish was amazinggggg. We went for my friend's birthday and they sat us immediately when we got there. The space is so stunning how they have it setup. The decor is funky and the vibes are just so good. The music had us dancing all night long! We got drinks and they were affordable and so delicious. We then went into the appetizers where we got the esquites and guacamole. They were both so fresh and tasty. We then went into our mains and the portions were so good for the price. I got the chicken mole and it was so velvety. It paired perfectly with the sauces they give for the tacos so pro tip: make sure you ask for them on the sides! The rice and plantains were done fantastically as well! We ended with the churros and they were so tasty, definitely a must try. 10/10

Ambience was a bit dark for my like but was def feeling the 90s music that they were playing. Was very disappointed w the esquites as it was soupy; I've had way better esquites. Chicken Tamale were bland; street tamales are better according to my friend. Fish tamales weren't bad. Chicken poblano didn't look appealing and the maduros were super dry. Fish tacos was mediocre and lacked flavor. Enchiladas Rojas was not spicy at all despite stating so in the menu. Keep in mind I'm an ethnic person. I must say the desserts were much for flavorful than the apps/entrees. Another thing that came to our attention was the food came out very quick and didn't taste fresh. Lastly, we felt very rushed. Thankfully, our waiter was excellent! This is a spot to come and chill but not for food, sadly.

Downstairs, it's a lot tighter, with a DJ, dance floor, lounge seating area, and a much more packed and busy atmosphere on the weekends. I like ping ponging between both vibes when I'm with friends. Admittedly I've found the music both times to be too experimental for me. Confessing that makes me feel like an old person shaking my fist or at least shaking my head, misunderstanding what makes the youth tick. But I had no trouble twirling around the dance floor to this weird experimental music after throwing back a few tequila sodas upstairs. A few times while here my friends have split up into the group that wants to go downstairs to dance and the group that wants to stay upstairs and chill. It's relatively easy to navigate between both vibes, which I enjoy about this spot very much.

When we saw "Water Tower" on the elevator we decided to press it. SO GLAD WE DID. We landed at the Water Tower and walked into a fairly empty space decorated with art all the way to the ceiling, filled with natural light coming in and the views of the skyline were out of this world. We had to try their drinks of course to enjoy with the incredible view. Though the drinks are $21 and served in a plastic cup that evening, I was NOT expecting my drink to be this insanely delicious. That was until I was halfway through beer three. It all got dark. I mean it literally got dark. A waitress began pulling down all the blinds, taking away the sun haven I had found myself loving. Taking away the joy I had worked so hard to achieve. That is when I knew that that beer would be my last. I did not come to a bar with a wall of windows to end up in a place darker than the Rikers Island cells mere miles away. So I ask this one question to the waitress, why? Why ruin the joy of light? Why ruin it?

It is too bad Yelp doesn't allow half stars as I would honestly put this one at a 3.5 and am rounding up. While the quality of the elevated seafood bites is immaculate, they are just that: a bite or two of food, for an elevated price considering the amount of food you get. After spending $76 a person, we were still hungry, whereas that amount would have been enough to feed two average women at another good restaurant. But if you go with an expense account or trust fund baby, definitely get the scallops and the yellowtail pastrami because those two items will blow your mind. Our waitress pointed these two out to us and we're grateful for her guidance because it was spot on. Paying for bread at a Solomonov joint is odd. No dessert menu is odder.
