Frozen marg (happy hour - top left first one on the happy hour menu)

Fun little happy hour spot (forgot the name of the frozen marg but it's incredibly worth it) - phenomenal service and the outdoor seating was v fun! Good tacos (from someone who's lived in Texas his entire childhood) Cheers!

Tastes and feels like a slice of home. We loved their chili fries, crunchy taco, and burrito quite a bit. And of course we had to have some queso! The energy was very warm and kind, we will definitely be back. Would also like to give a shoutout to Justin for making our night even better!

Talk about an absolute hidden gem, I can't believe it took me until tonight to eat here. To start, the staff was super friendly and personable, and gave great menu recommendations as well. The food came out fast, and MAN was it tasty. The chili armadillo fries were packed with flavor and the take on the crunch wrap taco was equally as good. The star for the show for me was the king ranch taco, the tomato sauce that came with it was such a nice touch. HIGHLY recommend stopping by!

Allegedly they have happy hour according to the sign outside but there was no happy hour menu and all our stuff was priced normal (probably should have asked but didn't). The beef taco is so good and very reasonably priced. Bartender was hilarious. It's super tiny inside. Queso wasn't good but the salsa and bean dip were. Skinny marg was good.

    Great tequila!

Super cute spot! Friendly owners! Great fresh and homemade food! We stumbled in during the pre launch and loved what we saw. Frozen margaritas are perfectly curated, just the right amount of frozen with quality fresh ingredients. More tart than sweet which is how I love it! Tequila is smooth. We also tried the chips/salsa/queso, king ranch soft taco and crunchy beef taco. All were great and any Texan in nyc will appreciate. Can't wait for the full menu and will most def be back for a breakfast taco. Great spot, def check it out! Worth schlepping to the East Village for !

After a week in NYC, I was seriously craving tacos. A coworker recommended Wayne and Sons, and I'm so glad I checked it out. It's a small, unassuming spot. You could easily walk right past it without realizing what a gem it is. This is definitely Tex-Mex cuisine, which was a real treat for someone from California. We tend to lean heavy on the "Mex" side, not so much the "Tex," so I really appreciate Tejano food when I can find it. I ordered a crunchy taco and an asado taco. Both came in hard shells and were absolutely delicious. The salsa verde was solid, but the salsa roja was mind-blowing. I immediately asked if they sell it, and the staff said they're working on bottling it. I can't wait. I also got the queso, which came with "Textopos." It's a clever play on words that took me a second to catch. The queso itself was rich and comforting, exactly what you want from a Tex-Mex spot. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They helped me order the right things and made the whole experience feel relaxed and personal. This is a unique and special place in NYC, and I'm really glad I stopped by. I'll definitely be back.

Literally stumbled on this place and almost left because we were looking for a bar, but we were convinced to stay by some other patrons. The vibe was cozy and fun and the staff was so kind and welcoming! This place is great for a quick bite and the food was delicious. My friends said the drinks were great and strong! They then brought us back to the speakeasy which was a great vibe! If I'm ever in the area again and looking for a quick greasy fix this will be my first stop!

Upon arriving, I was immediately greeted by the manager and other staff to make sure I was all settled for my party, which I really appreciated. This space has a partnership with a pizza place up the street to order food but also provides flexibility to bring in your own food which a lot of places do not allow. They also allowed me to bring balloons and cake which many places also don't allow. I had around 40 people and there was plenty of space to sit down or stand. It wasn't too loud so I was able to have a conversation with friends while also enjoying the music. The music was great and we even stayed afterwards to enjoy the DJ and the vibes were still strong. If you're looking for a private space, this is the perfect spot for your party! My friends are still talking about how cool this space was and were very impressed!

After opening a number of successful bars in New York City, including Death & Company and Cienfuegos, DeRossi decided to open a new bar with a focus on rare, new, and unusual craft beer offerings. Originally opening in the St. Marks section of the East Village, Proletariat quickly earned a reputation for being one of the best craft beer bars in NYC. In June 2022, Proletariat moved to a new, larger space just two blocks away on East 7th Street. In addition to the excellent beer selection, the new location also features a kitchen that offers an array of plant-based dining options. I recently visited Proletariat while I was in the Village to see a concert. I arrived a few hours before the show so I could grab some beers and bites beforehand. Proletariat has been on my NYC craft beer bucket list for a while; they have an excellent reputation. There were maybe four other customers there when I arrived; I felt like I was entering a secret craft beer club. I really liked the wolf featured on the bar's logo. It was clearly a reference to the Latin botanical term for hops: "humulus lupulus", which roughly translates as "the little wolf that comes from the Earth". There were 20 impressive beers on draught during my visit. I decided to order a pour of The Drowned Lands Brewery's "Winnow" (Festbier). It was an excellent example of the style: light and malty. Afterwards, I went with a pour of Sante Adairius Rustic Ales' "The Sky and the Sea" (Blueberry Saison). This was a fantastic beer: nice and tart with delicious notes of blueberries. If you're looking for some great craft beer bars in NYC then add Proletariat to your list!
