I think I can say this is the best breakfast burrito I've had in New York! Starting off, their signature Hatch chilies are delicious, with just the right amount of kick, and they provide a great spicy, fresh bite. The eggs are cooked perfectly, soft and fluffy, and the tater tots add a nice crunch, although I would not mind if they were even a little crunchier. They're already better than most places I've been. The sausage was nice and flavorful, although I do wish there was a little more, as I felt like it got a little lost in the rest of the burrito. A taco salad for the books (the shell has a special place in my heart)!!!! I've never been to New Mexico but this place is doing wonders for their tourism industry. We really really enjoyed our entrees, the flavors were spot on and the portions were generous so come hungry. The waitresses were really kind and our table was positioned by the window so perfect for people watching. For my drink I ordered the Reigns of Gold - Anejo, Blood Orange, Cinnamon and Black Pepper. Those are amazing! service is quick as they are premade and kept warm but this means you can not really customize them. Wow! That would be the one word to describe Santa Fe Bk. We ordered a smothered chicken burro with Christmas sauce. I've had smothered burritos before from various restaurants and the sauce usually is just an afterthought. Sometimes it's messy and detracts from the dish. Not here - the sauce is incredibly good. It changes my thoughts on smothered burritos in general. We also had a chicken taco salad which was deceptively good. If you're on a diet prob not the choice to go with, but the shell was perfectly crisp to compliment the chicken. The only taco salads I've had before usually contain chicken that's been grilled or chilled. The type they had was smothered in a light sauce. The whole thing just made sense while eating it. I don't know New Mexican cuisine nearly well enough to be a connoisseur, but I do know that I had a delicious meal here. Hatch chiles all day every day. The three of us came after checking out Twisted Spine. We got the stuffed sopapillas with picadillo (ground beef) "Christmas" style, so a mix of red and green sauces; the Watterburger (green chile cheeseburger); and hatch chile mac and queso, also Christmas style, but with sauces on the side since my friend can't really do spicy. Dishes ranged from $20-24 and these were hefty portions. My favorite was the sopapillas, but everything was so flavorful and comforting. We all especially liked the green sauce with those hatch chiles. My non-alcoholic pear spritz was light, bubbly, and refreshing. They used pear purée and the flavor was fairly light, but stronger near the bottom of my drink. My partner got the Mama G's Sun Tea, which was very cinnamon forward and came with free refills. Have been here twice and the green chile breakfast burrito is an excellent ratio of 50% soft scrambled eggs that have the consistency of those eggs that have a little cornstarch slurry that has still-moist ripples and the other 50% green chile (has quite a bit more heat the further you get down the burrito), cheese, and your choice of sausage, bacon, or potato. My personal preference was the bacon! Real crispy. You'd be surprised at how much the flavor changes between the choice of sausage and bacon. Breakfast time has no dine-in option; it's just a pick up window with already packaged, warm-ish burritos, so don't get intimidated by the line. They do have a gluten-free option without the tortilla and they serve up the fillings of a burrito in a little to-go container they use for things like clam chowder. About $14 for the burrito. We just got back from Sante Fe in October and the food here is very authentic. I've tied most of the cocktails and they are all pretty and tasty, my favorite is the Fallen Ranger. The chips and guac are solid and I also enjoyed the watermelon salad for something lighter. The green chili cheese burger is perfection with melty cheese and some heat from the chilis. I like to get it with the queso fries. The fries here can hold their own even with out the cheese. The queso is the perfect amount of spice. I also love their enchiladas, my favorite combo to share is the Green chile chicken and picadillo with red sauce. These are the best enchiladas in NYC and they hold up against any I've had in Sante Fe. In the last year they've added a green chili cheesecake and I am obsessed! The cheese also i did not love - it felt a bit too almost strong and didnt altogether match the other elements for me - wld love like a white cheese maybe like pepper jack ? . I was surprised to see that burritos are premade (freshly made on the day of) and placed under a heating lamp waiting for a purchase. First, we did not realize that it's "grab and go" only until 3pm - opens for dinner @ 5pm (totally our fault in not paying attention to this detail) so we got the green chile cheeseburger to go - just because. Today for the first time I tried the burger and wow am I impressed! I kind of avoided it because I thought it would just be a normal burger but it was excellent!!
