Food: This place is Halal which is another reason that peaked my interest and that is why I went with the staple order of Birria Tacos and let me tell you how generous when it comes to all the meat. It was melting in my mouth with every bite and if you had a splash of hot sauce it would add that tangy touch give the taco a whole vibe. I would lower the amount of cilantro in there, cause I felt like there was little bit too much. Ambiance: The space is very big and have that decoration that will make you think you are in a lucha libre restaurant. So you dont need to worry about finding a seat. I stopped by quickly to Birria LES before a concert. I ordered myself two Beef Al Pastor taco's. The two Beef Al Pastor taco's were exquisite, so flavorful, warm, and freshly made. I almost burnt my tongue when I took my first bite and the green sauce was nice; a nice touch of flavor and spicy. After a while, I did feel the spicy flavor. I would recommend this Mexican spot for some tasty tacos and other Mexican eats. Stopped by here for a quick bite after a night out in Williamsburg. I hadn't been to any of their other locations before, so I was curious to try it. I ordered the beef birria tacos with a side of consome, and that combo definitely didn't disappoint. The consome was piping hot, rich, and full of flavor with just the right kick. While the food itself was great for a late-night stop, the wait time was surprisingly long, especially since I only ordered tacos and consome, which is typically already prepared. I also ordered a frozen pina colada, expecting it to be alcoholic. To my surprise, it was non-alcoholic. That should really be made clearer on the menu, as frozen pina coladas are generally assumed to contain alcohol. stopped by for a quick bite. the birria with cheese and chicken al pastor were solid. i've typically eaten al pastor with pork so it was a pleasant surprise that there were spin offs with other meat options. consume was one of the more savory ones ive tried- perfect amount of onion! i have to say the inside of the restaurant isn't the most appetizing place to eat. it felt dingy and and dirty. if it were the summer i would've taken it to eat outside. read more

Now I've had Birria LES and I love it so much. I always get surf and turf as my go to. But today at smorgasburg food fair my girlfriend and I noticed they have BIRRIA GRILLED CHEESE. Ideally, I wish I could give this restaurant 10 stars! I discovered this establishment initially by going to Smorgasburg Prospect Park and told myself I would definitely try out the location itself. Got here on a Wednesday evening, and I was literally the only one there, which I appreciated; it felt like a private dining experience. I had a beef, chicken, and shrimp Birria Taco with cheese along with a Frozen Pina Colada. I also ordered a surf and turf slider with a small consume. The decor and amount of space in the establishment are perfect! I literally can't wait to come back here for the delicious food and drinks. I'm going to have more tacos and sliders with corn. We stumbled upon Birria LES and I'm very glad we did! The tacos and mulitas here were just what I needed- a quick, flavorful and delicious bite. We ordered a couple of tacos and loved them so much that we ordered a few more. The beef and chicken birria are both quite good. I preferred the chicken slightly more. I'd recommend the mulitas if you like cheese- it came with a little cotija cheese and crema on top and melted cheese inside. While I will warn that it may be a tad messy with the sauce spilling out from the taco, it's well worth it! This delicious snack warmed me up on a cold evening. read more

Birria tacos during the winter are an amazing idea. You have to get the consome to dip your tacos / food into. My friends and i literally finished all the consome bc it was great. The beef itself is super tender and melts in your mouth. The tacos were pretty filled with meat and i enjoyed the 1 mulita I got as well to switch it up. This was my first and last time visiting this location. While the woman who initially took my order was polite, the experience quickly went downhill. What was labeled as "nachos" was nothing more than dry tortilla chips with a blob of birria dumped on top -- no cheese whatsoever. That's not nachos by any definition. When I politely addressed the issue, I was met with attitude from both the cook and the cashier, as if I were somehow in the wrong. I understand places get busy, but rushing orders and serving careless, low-effort food -- then responding with attitude when it's brought up -- is unacceptable. Well I do have to say the food here is extremely Americanized and not even close to what Tijuana style birria is yet it's very tasty and I loved that the portions were normal size not too big not too small. Wow. I usually just don't bother reviewing places that I don't like, but this was so disappointing that I feel obligated to review. We ordered a few different things: esquites, birria taco, loaded birria nachos, and tres leches cake. The birria taco was the only one I don't really have complaints about. Was it great? No, but it was passable. However, the other three items were totally disappointing. The tres leches was most egregious. The moment I opened the container, I was hit with the awful smell of spoiled milk. The top of the cake had hardened and developed mold spots. Just beyond disgusting. Tres leches is not a cake that you can just make and leave in the refrigerator for days and days (maybe weeks? I'm not sure how long this would take to harden and mold and begin stinking, because frankly I've never encountered this). And if you're selling it in a restaurant, it should be prepared fresh and sold on the same day - otherwise stop offering it, especially when you're charging customers $8 for a (small) slice. $8 for a stinking, moldy piece of cake. The other items were below expectations, but not rotten, so I won't bother detailing those. Just know they weren't worth it. Maybe their Manhattan locations are better, but I won't be trying them to find out. read more
