On a whim, I decided to grab a bite and went for tacos for the first time in a while. Let me just say they may be small, but they deliver. Each soft shell taco is packed with rich, savory flavor that completely makes up for the size. I kept it simple, one taco and a Mexican seltzer, but honestly, I could have easily gone for another. Practicing a little restraint, barely. Now it makes sense why this spot is always buzzing. Every time I walk by, there is a line, people posted up on the benches, food in hand. I wanted the tortilla so I got rice and beans on the side but you can always get the bowl which I saw a lot of people order. They also have Mexican Coke! Went for a walk as i am never in this area and wanted to explore a little. Inhave always seen the Tacocina from the boats view but this was the first time trying out the food. I got 2 steak tacos ($7 each) and a pork burrito ($15). The food took about 10-15 to come out as there were a lot if people waiting for their orders. The tacos were small on 1 tortilla which made it hard to pick up as the tortilla was falling apart. It was a good taco but not worth the $7 each. The pork burrito was delicious. It was a good size with a good amount of meat. It could have used more of their green sauce as it was dry but tasty to eat. I definitely recommend getting a burrito over their tacos. read more

Nice to have an option right in Domino Park, especially with the great weather nowadays. There is happy hour til 6 but only on the drinks, no food. Plenty of dog friendly, outdoor seating Tacos are good but need to be double wrapped with the tortillas. With one bite or less, the tortilla essentially split in half with all of ours. Chips taste more like Fritos than tortilla chips. For some that could be a good thing, but I'm not a fan of Fritos and was bummed. They have a steady business thanks to the number of people visiting the park and the nice views so they could get away with terrible tacos but they actually had alright ones. The chicken tinga was a little bit bland even with their hot sauce but the al pastor had pretty nice flavor though the pork was perhaps a little bit dry. As another reviewer mentioned, they could definitely add a bit more pineapple but it was fine. Around 4 to 5 bucks per taco which is pricey but hey it's Williamsburg and it's inside a park so it's pretty expected. Also had a agua fresca. I believe it was hibiscus and watermelon and I remember it being refreshing and pretty good being not too sweet. Perfectly alright park food but if it was anywhere outside of this park, I doubt they would stay in business with this price model. read more

I might visit the location in Brooklyn to see if it is better but at not too sure after this experience. The tortilla was cold, not heated on the griddle which would have helped. For $12 you got two tacos with a little cotija cheese and salsa verde. The chicken was shredded and had a spicy sauce but it wasn't very flavorful. The sauce quickly made the tortilla very soggy and this happened before I got back to my seat. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this food choice at Citi Field. read more

Want light bites while at the waterfront this is the place to go. Order online and pick up at the window equals quick and easy service. They have outsode seating with a spectaclur view of the city. While I found the menu limited only having 4 tacos we tried 3 of the 4. Tacos were badic and cost about $4 to $5 each. The ambiance of the black was very nice, I love the set up and how shady it was cause baby the sun was beaming. However the food was not it for me. I purchased the Nachos with Beef and it was tasteless. Simply didn't taste nothing , no party in my mouth of flavor at all. I want to say the cut of Beef is brisket however I'm not sure , still no flavor at all. I will say it's a very much so sharable size , I didn't finish it all. The strawberry lemonade was very tart that's it. For the price I feel the cup should at least be a medium, being that you received more ice then juice. I would return , I doubt it . I got a pork pibil taco (with pineapple habanero salsa) and a chicken adobo tostadita (shown in the picture); the food was good for its price albeit nothind mindblowing. My friends had the nachos which come in a large portion size and are loaded with toppings! The staff was friendly and call your name through the microphone when the food is ready. The salsa was delicious and I would come back for the cheese taco - tip: add protein for $1, it's worth it. Cons - pick up communication was poor (my order took longer than the estimate, and they said I'd get a text when it was ready but I never did), chips were so salty it was unpleasant. If you're hungry while hanging out in Domino Park - there aren't a lot of options within a block or so. But fortunately Tacocina is there and they are serving up some decent Mexican food. I say 'decent' because I didn't love the tacos. They're ok! But not my favorite in the city... Prices are OK - $4 for a taco is pretty standard in the city. The portions tho are a little on the small side and I felt like they overdo the cilantro to hide the fact that there wasn't a ton of meat on the tortilla. I did like the seasoning of the chicken adobo taco, just not loving all that cilantro. We also got a small order of the chips/salsa to share. The portion is good. The chips are super crunchy and the salsa was simple, liquidy and very tomato-y. We ended up drizzling it on our tacos for a little extra flavor. Ordering is simple due to the short menu. And Tacocina is cashless so transactions are also quick. We visited on a Thursday, late afternoon in the summer and the line to order wasn't too bad (maybe 5-8 people deep). And while the food is ok, for me, it's the location that gets the stars here. Tacocina is in a fantastic location, especially for summer! Sitting right in the middle of (the newly opened) Domino Park - it's got great views of Manhattan and the East River. And then the sitting area is so casually comfortable and colorful with umbrellas and a good amount of seating. This place is smack in the middle of Domino Park. It's one of the only sit down food options in the park. I only saw a few food trucks in the area. It's a really cute taco shack with bright blue colors. They have little picnic tables you can sit at and some standing tables. But most people just eat anywhere in the park. The ordering process is pick up at the moment. You go in and scan a bar code on your phone which opens up a limited menu. You order on your phone and pick it up when it's ready. If you want to order alcohol then you have to order in person. I got the Crispy Cotija & Jack Cheese taco (my fav) for $4. It has cheese inside and outside (hence the crispy part). I also got the mushroom taco for $4.50 which was really well seasoned. The chicken taco for $4.50 was good but surprisingly not as good as the other two. The tacos were a little smaller than average but getting three per person should fill you up. We also got the Berry Agua Fresca for $5 which has a very strong strawberry flavor but it wasn't sweetened heavily so it was a little sour. There's nothing crazy or out of this world here but it just hits the spot and it's a very aesthetically pleasing. I would definitely recommend going if you're in the area! read more

Danny Meyer's new taco stand just opened inside the beautiful new Domino Park, one of the best new things to do this summer. The line is insane on opening day today, as expected. Even though there is a slight drizzle, the park is completely packed. The menu is short, with just a few snacks and a bunch of different tacos. The winner is definitely the fried cheese taco, and the Cheese Chicharrones for a snack. For vegans, there's a fried mushroom taco too, but it's all about those other cheesy options.
