A couple times a month, I meet some friends for a few pints at a nearby bar. We used to hit up the taco truck across the street when we got hungry, but unfortunately it disappeared a few months back. We've been testing out food options in the surrounding area, and Nacho Macho has emerged as my favorite (for convenience, speed, flavor, and affordability). Now, the space isn't much to speak of. It's narrow, with only a couple places to sit. But the dudes who work there are efficient, nice, and can put together an order of food for 6+ dudes in about 15 minutes (double-check they gave you some salsa and utensils if you need them though). I've tried a couple of the options, but the al pastor burrito, with a few things added (guac, sour cream, jalapenos, etc.) is a gutbomb of deliciousness that I am never sad about eating. Staff completely ignored me--I had to get up to grab my own menu. Food came out promptly. I had to pester the staff for the check as they ignored me after dropping off the order. Small storefront with limited seating but awesome birria. I'd been to another location previously that was a larger restaurant and thought it was the same until I showed up here. After the initial disappointment that it was the wrong address (and that they don't have cocktails here like the other one does), we ordered and devoured our food. We ordered a super macho nacho with grilled chicken between two people to share. I will say the grilled chicken was pretty good, and I felt like they gave a fair share of grill chicken. I wasn't the biggest fan of their tortilla chips. The chips they gave us were actually little stale. We also ordered for here, but it was given in a to go container and thus a lot of the chips and toppings got a little soggy. Today I was in a Park Slope mood and decided on another gorgeous fall day to walk around the neighborhood and soak it up. I was also in a taco mood thus , Yelp suggested some good ideas especially for places that offered lunch specials: Miti Miti offered but sounded like too much food as my appetite really wanted snack. I'll have to visit them in the future. Gueros on Prospect wasn't opened til 5 so that was ruled our. Nacho Macho appeared and I checked the photos and reviews and decided to give it a try. So, as you can see by my rating they garnered two stars. So let's talk about what they got right first: 1. Extensive menu options. 2. Out door seating was comfy 3. Lunch specials are a good value: chips and salsa, can of soda and two tacos.... Which leads me to their opportunities: 1. Posting pricing on social media should be reviewed and updated consistently. Thus, the lunch specials are not $10 but $11.25 plus tax 2. Post signs in your restaurant that states prices vary by selection: I selected shrimp tacos for the special and was told seventy five cents extra. Hmmm.. Which brought my total to $13 but there is a three taco special for $13.... 3.. if one is dining in or out, putting chips in a paper bag with side salsa really isn't the way to go. The bag got greasy and I don't want to sound uppity but the chips could have been placed in a small basket. Now for the food: Chips and salsa were good, the salsa had a really nice kick. The shrimp tacos were bland and I really was disappointed, no sauce no kick.. the size of the shrimp were nice. No straw for can of soda?? If it's bussing my own table state it. Well, Miti Miti for $19 lunch special and more food would have probably been a better choice. read more

I had no idea this place existed until my friend dragged my reluctant and cold self down the street after church for a taco. Couldn't say no to tacos... obviously. Glad I didn't because this is one of the BEST chicken tacos I've had in NYC. Loaded with meat, bursting with flavor, everything tasting fresh... they don't skimp on the food here. I can only attest to the chicken tacos - and that was worth me rushing to Yelp to give them a good review. Ten stars for their steak taco . (I added guacamole and some jalapeños in addition to the basics ) . The steak was extremely tender and a subtle gravy saturated the entire burrito adding some extra flavor. The rice and black beans were also very fresh and seasoned to perfection creating a perfect texture . As for the burrito wrap itself, mmmmm it was soft , non chewy and even oddly glistened abit for the added visuals . The restaurant is enough to sit about 8-10 people and is relatively chill. Oh how I love a good restaurant that serves great authentic mexican food. I came upon this place while visiting another place to eat and decided to come back and give them a try. Well that day have arrived and i was in the mood for some nachos and lots of tacos. I took my friend along for this experience because we both love anything pertaining to Mexican food. Although the covid restrictions and still in tack we decided to sit outside to eat instead because its was a beautiful day and the weather was nicer side that day. Nacho macho is quite small but seemed very cozy we got there and decided right way what we wanted to eat so we got the Loaded nachos with steak , chicken quesadillas, three tacos chicken, steak and fish and the mexican corn. While waiting for our food we got complimentary chips and salsa which was quite good the chips were very crunchy and fresh. Our food started arriving right away i couldn't wait to dive in the nachos were absolutely delicious and definitely loaded a must try will be coming back for more. I used to come here nightly but I haven't visited this location ever since I stopped working in the neighborhood. So yesterday's the first time back in roughly 2 years. Still haven't changed my order. I got the Grilled Chicken Torta, with chipotle sauce and no smashed beans, and split half with my sister. The torta is as tasty and as fulfilling as I remember and it reminded me of why I love this place so much. The chicken is well seasoned and packed with flavor and the entire torta, from the tomatoes down to the avocado, just tastes so fresh. I can only attest to the Grilled Chicken Torta (and well, the nachos), but it really is so darn delicious. Give this place a try, I assure you won't regret it. I love ordering from this place but always forget to take pictures because I'm starving. What I've tried: - grilled portobello: this is just so flavorful and heavy. It's definitely my favorite burrito - breakfast burrito- scrambled eggs, potatoes and cheese. There's more potato to eggs ratio so it would be nice if it was balanced but otherwise flavors are remarkable and seasoned well. My coworkers have started ordering from here as well because we know we are always going to get an amazing lunch. I've been eating at this fast Mexican food joint for quite some time now. Now that we're all quarantined for the virus its still serving up food and keeping me alive. For lunch they have a chips and soda combo that can't be beat. Otherwise their bowls and their burritos are all really good. I havn't had their tacos or anything else but my favorite of the burritos (and I've tried them all) is definitely the chicken mole. It has tasted different sometimes but overall still reminiscent of a classic simple mole. The venue isn't great to dine in but they usually get the food in under 10 minutes and they have a tv that is always play some good movies. Life with COVID-19 is just a little bit better knowing that Nacho Macho Taco continues to serve up reliably delicious Mexican food just a few blocks away. After being holed up in our apartment all day, eating bread and peanut butter for two meals in a row, my husband and I decided to order Nacho Macho Taco via DoorDash and then picked up the order in-person to get some exercise. To meet the city's guidelines, the restaurant had stacked up all the tables and chairs to the side so people could only pick up food, but the energy inside was still upbeat. Couldn't help moving to Beyonce and some rap music while waiting for my order! We ordered a whole wheat burrito with grilled tofu as well as the chicken enchilada with mole. Both were fantastic! The tofu in the burrito was soft but just slightly grilled and charred on the outside. The chicken enchilada with mole was better, largely because the mole sauce was so flavorful--slightly sweet, spicy, and savory. Perfect for mopping up with the rice and beans. Both the burrito and enchiladas were generously portioned and filling. For the price and quality, this place can't be beat in the area. read more

This place is over the top in Mexican decor but that adds to the charm. It's very small with very limited seatings and their high up so not so great for kids under 8. Came here with my husband and daughter and we had some tacos and their nachos. The steak taco was a miss. Don't know why it's so hard to find good steak tacos that's not dry or chewy. The pork taco was pretty good and the flavor was nice (reminded me of pull pork). The super nachos was okay. The toppings was not enough to fully covered the top layered of the nachos so by the time you got to the bottom, you're basically eating plain chips. Considering how the nachos was $9, they can afford to give a little more guac and salsa. Overall, not the best Tacos or nachos I've had so far and there are a lot of Mexican places popping up all over park slope so this place just doesn't have what it takes to get me to come back here for round two. read more

My food didn't come out as i thought when they first added onions to my steak burrito, there nachos are chips with melted mixed American cheese it solidifies really quick and thats it. it barley came out warm, mine and my girlfriends burrito came undone within the first 3 bites and when something comes with tomato and lettuce it isn't in the item its placed on the side and something like a burrito its stupid to be forking in the lettuce and tomato into it. they diddnt ask me how i wanted the beef and im a well done read more

Yayks, At the time I reviewed this place the place had 4.5 stars. I ordered al pastor bowl. That thing tasted nothing like al pastor. The meat lacked any flavor (probably boiled pork). The cheese and beans were equally bad and had very poor flavor. I couldn't even finish 1/4 of the meal and I was hungry, the rest was wasted. This place has a lot of options. 5th av is a hustling bustling location and Nacho Macho never fails to impress. They are quick and the food is always good.
