A great hole in the wall with reasonable prices, decent happy hour and very good food. They don't have many tables and a few bar seats. The service is always attentive and quick. We ordered the happy hour margs and carnitas tacos. The camarone tacos with chipotle sauce, guacamole, and a crab tostada. The tostada was my favorite hands down. As a san diego native, I have very high expectations of mexican food. So don't let me yuck your yum. The portions for sheimp cocktail was good and I like their chips. But the flautus were really small. And the salsa was not spicy. It also takes awhile to get food. read more

Nice spot for drinks with authentic Mexican food, I was told it was only cash but to my surprise they were taking cards as well, which was great because is not cheap. We paid $160 for 2 people for a few drinks, 2 appetizers and 2 tacos. The Lengua tacos were Yummy but for $6 each I was expecting much more than a few pieces in a smaller than usual tortilla, really small, kids size small. Service and ambiance on the other hand was great, very friendly servers and good music selection, I would recommend for drinks and snacking but not for dinner. The place is small as well so probably not ideal for big groups. We had the crab tostada, pata tostada, and lengua tacos, everything tasted good, but again for the price I would have expected much better quality/portions. Tried a couple of things here today which were pretty hit or miss. The guyaba margarita was great - it was well balanced and I loved the hint of heat. The cebollitas were super yummy too - especially when you squeeze a little lime on them. The tacos were just sad. Neither the carne asada or the shrimp had much flavor. Their paloma was also really syrupy. Regardless, it's a solid neighborhood spot to grab a drink - and they have decent outdoor seating, which is nice. I got to the restaurant at 6:59PM and didn't receive my food until 7:48PM. The only thing I order was a quesadilla which to my surprise was not a quesadilla it was more of an empanada it was tiny. There's something in a name and in this case the name tells you exactly what you're going to get; a superior product. So tacos are definitely my love language and all tacos are not created equally so I'm kinda picky about where my tacos come from. I was on a date at nearby Domino Park and looked into this spot. Our server Masha was super sweet, introduced herself , shared a little of her history with the restaurant and made great recommendations. We went with a variety of tacos that included: the fish, garlic shrimp, spicy pulled chicken. While those were being made, we started with the guacamole and chips. I don't know all the ingredients that was in that salsa but Baybee when I tell you that thing had a kick to it. Even the Jamaican in me couldn't fully handle it. It was giving 50 Jamaican hot peppers. When we did get the tacos, the fish was super fresh and tasteful. The shrimps were all garlicky and succulent and while the chicken wasn't as loved and was super messy ( which I don't like)- everything was good. Bae had a Modello and I had the guava flavored margarita minus the spice. We left their on a high. Really great service, amazing food and vibes. I had only one gripe- Idk who was in control of the playlist was but it sounded like a bad American Idol contestant. Besides that, nothing to complain about. Do keep in mind they are CASH ONLY! Surprised this is 3.5, because we had a great meal here! Complaints I have are small portions for tacos - like little stuff is inside the taco. Could be a heavier taco. The rajas tacos was really good and unique! The sauce is awesome. The fish taco was ok. The Guac and chips were to die for. Some of the best Guac I've ever had in my life. The service was extremely slow. My party was seated quickly, and drink orders were taken quickly but super slow to come. I watched 4 tables that were seated after me get their drinks and food first. I even asked my server about our drink order, and he just blew me off, saying they were coming. My boyfriend's food came before our drinks came. SMH. Very disappointing. When the drinks finally did come, the server wasn't even apologetic he kind of just plopped them down and walked off. So we got the fried fish tacos, and they were doused in hot sauce. So as his mouth was on fire, he had only the room temp water they gave us. It appeared like they had more than enough workers considering the size of the establishment, so I'm not sure what the problem was. I got the chicken quesadilla, which was more like an empenada. It was very underwhelming. The one plus side was that the table next to us was given 2 rounds of shots by the table mext to them and they gave us a round and the girl said please enjoy I know your drinks took a while..... wow, even they noticed yet not our server. When paying the check, after our server ignored us, another nice young man came over to help and asked how everything was, and I responded truthfully. He was very apologetic, which is why they are getting any stars at all. Maybe it was just an off night for them, but I'm not sure. Best of luck to them. Craving margaritas and tacos? Then give this place a try. They have a good amount of outdoor seating but it does fill up during peak times. My to go tos are the tamarind margarita (4.5/5), the shrimp tacos (5/5) and the cheese fondue (4/5). The cheese fondue is a great quantity/price ratio. TL;DR This place has mediocre food and unfriendly service. Recommend: No. Came w/ a group of friends for dinner. A few of them showed up later and the staff wasn't happy about it. Understandable, except the way they handled it was extremely unprofessional: Waiter gave us salty looks when we ordered food, manager made passive-aggressive remarks as he took one of our tables ("This is what our culture does when your party doesn't show up on time"), to name a few. I get that they weren't happy that part of our group was late. But that's not the right way to treat customers at all, in any case. Unprofessional and inexcusable. As for the food, it was okay. We ordered a variety of tacos, most of which were bland and not properly seasoned. Also got quesadillas, which were more like oversized fried dumplings (and like the tacos, not seasoned well.) The one positive was the guac. Very flavorful and paired nicely with their tortilla chips. Overall, my experience at La Superior was lackluster at best. I'm less bothered by the food and more so by the way their staff treated me and my friends. If they really don't like partially seated tables, then they should've made us wait until everyone showed up. That's reasonable for busy restaurants in NYC. But don't give us a table in advance and then act salty in front of us all night. Again, unprofessional to the fullest. This spot is such a taco gem! Found it by accident, just walking by the door was open and it smelled amazing. They have a bunch of different taco options with some well know tacos and others a bit more creative. I went with one Taco de Don Luis (citrus chicken and a spicy avocado sauce) and one carnitas taco. The tacos aren't very large but have a ton of meat on them. The Taco de Don Luis was amazing. So flavorful, the chicken cooked perfectly. I could have ordered a dozen! The carnitas was okay, just a tiny bit dry, it came with a sauce to fix that so it was good overall. read more

It no doubt has to do with the sheer amount of customers they see in a night. When all is right here, this is one of the best and most affordable taco options in Brooklyn. La superior where? I love AUTHENTIC tacos. But if i was to rate the worse tacos in the world it would be from here. I ordered Camarones Al chipotle tacos, i was looking forward to trying it out. I don't really write reviews but I would give a zero star if I could. The food was meh and their service was terrible (esp. our server Theresa). She never checked on us to see if we needed anything and when we asked which tacos were which after they arrived since everyone had ordered different menu, she said with an attitude "it's served as family style" repeatedly. Which then we had to re-read the menu description and transfer the tacos between plates. Also she seemed very bothered when we asked for more chips and pico (as if we weren't paying for them). And to top that off, when we got our bill it had a 20% gratuity added saying that we're a part of 5 (we were a party of 4). We so politely asked in this exact wording, "we were just curious if the gratuity was automatically added for a party of 4". She snapped quickly and said that's how it's been since pandemic and that we should not be coming out if we didn't want to tip. She came off so rude and aggressive and left us speechless. Who said we won't tip you and what a way to ruin our dinner! While I totally agree on tipping restaurant workers generously during pandemic, that doesn't mean you can show up to work with "too good for this" attitude. Tried this place on a Tuesday night. Not many people around when we arrived at 7. By the time we were leaving, the place was packed with a wait. To start off, I wasn't overly impressed by the timing of the food coming to the table. It all kid of came out at once. I guess it's nice because it isn't sitting under a heat lamp somewhere In The kitchen. We tried 3 different kinds of tacos - the chicken Tinga, carnitas and fish. They were all very delicious. The sauce that comes with the tacos is a nice compliment. I found it a little spicy but not too bad. We also got the chorizo and potato quesadilla and the mushroom quesadilla. Both were very tasty. Not like regular quesadillas, but they explained that to us when we ordered so we knew what to expect. I would defiantly return to this place, when I'm back in the neighborhood! read more

People that have written this place has great authentic Mexican cuisine, have probably never had good Mexican food. We stopped to have tacos outside, there was 4 of us, we spent 93$ for 9 tacos, 1 guacamole to share and 4 Modelo cans. The guy at the counter was pissed off at the world for whatever reason, when my friend asked if he could have 2 glasses of water, he replied (and i quote): "so you only want 2? Tell me now cause i don't want to have to go back again to get other glasses of water". Are you serious?! And this was also after we tipped!
