Al Pastor Tacos
Nathaniel T.

This place is legit. My friends and I stumbled upon this place on our way back home from Dromedary Bar and saw the Al Pastor cart parked outside the restaurant. We grabbed the Al Pastor Tacos, Carne Asada Tacos and Chips and Guacamole and everything tasted great. Have high expectations for tacos and this place exceeded all standards! Would definitely come back again:

My friends and I discovered Santa Ana after coming across a trompo cart outside on the streets. Immediately we knew we had found a hidden gem. Imagine the juiciest, most flavorful al pastor tacos: $3 and they're yours. This place has the best al pastor tacos I have ever had. If you live around here, you are beyond blessed.

BY FAR my favorite place to get tacos! Their carnitas tacos are so flavorful, juicy and fresh tasting. Their Al Pastor tacos also taste great! They give you lots of fresh cilantro, onions and lime. The salsa verde here is also my favorite, perfectly spiced and I pour it all over. The tortilla chips are homemade and sturdy and the guacamole never disappoints. I also love their flautas when I'm in the mood. There's lots of spots in the neighborhood but I always come back here 9/10 times. They aren't always the fastest but you KNOW they're making it fresh to order back there. The staff is so nice and friendly. Please show this place more love on Yelp

Perfect chips -- the homemade kind that are thicker/crunchier. W/ very tangy lime-heavy guac. Soooo good.

Favorite spot in the whole neighborhood. Get the al pastor - It's the speciality because it's fresh. The taco boy is super friendly and will hook you up with great al pastor tacos, complete with doubled tortillas, lots of cilantro & onion, slivers of pineapple, radishes & lime. The quesadilla is great too, with the oaxaca cheese. My favorite chips of any Mexican restaurant. Awesome sauces & guac.

Top notch al pastor tacos/taquitos and speedy service. Best Mexican food, similar to SoCal tacos.

This place is awful. They screwed up my order then blamed it on eat24 and refused to correct it. Never get me again.

Waited an hour and a half for terrible terrible food. The meat was not seasoned well, it was cold, but the wait for the food was absurd.

Nenes Taqueria - Birria pizza

Found myself craving Mexican (specifically, Birria) one Friday evening after a long work week…read more Nenes Taqueria hit the spot in every way I wanted. I went on a Friday evening around 9:30pm. It was still fairly busy inside, but it was mostly people grabbing to-go orders. After ordering I snagged a spot at the counter. There's extremely limited seating, so I wouldn't bank on eating at the restaurant when it's busy. Be prepared to take your food to go. I got the Nene's Deluxe, which comes with a taco, a mulita, and an empanada - all with Birria of course. It was all delicious. The mulita was at the bottom of the box and got completely soaked with Birria. It was extremely messy to eat. Get plenty of napkins. I also got a side of fries and nacho cheese, because it was a long week and I deserved it. They had a seasonal strawberry horchata as well. This was okay. I also think I might just not love horchata in general. This meal definitely hit the spot. The Birria and consommé were top notch. I would return in a heartbeat.

I tried something different than my usual and went with the Adobada Tacos (Pork Al Pastor). The meat itself was spicy and a little rough, which leads me to believe it was maybe old meat. Instead of cubed, the pineapple was shredded which offered a nice touch. Unfortunately the actual taco got soggy by the time I ate it so I just picked out the meats and pineapple. There is plenty of avocado green sauce placed on top, which moving forward, I will request to be on the side to prevent the taco from getting soggy. Overall I probably should just stick to what I know/like so I'm willing to give this location another shot!

Our reservation was for 8:30pm, but we arrived early and Alejandra, the hostess, was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Even though she was ready to seat us, we decided to hang at the bar until the rest of our party arrived and that was the perfect move. Alkarys behind the bar was top-tier. She recommended the Siempre Reposado, and let me tell you... smooth, clean, dangerously good. If you're into tequila, that's a must. Now let's talk about the food. We ordered the quesadilla, rajas, tamales, tacos, and the queso fundido and every single dish hit. The queso fundido came out bubbling, rich, perfectly melted with that pull you want when you scoop it up. The tamales were moist and packed with flavor, wrapped beautifully and clearly made with care. The rajas had that perfect balance of roasted pepper sweetness and savory depth. The tacos? Authentic, well-seasoned, and layered with flavor, no shortcuts. Even the quesadilla stood out, crispy on the outside with that perfectly melted interior. Everything felt traditional, elevated but still true to its roots. You can taste the authenticity. Service was attentive without being overbearing, the ambiance was super casual and laid back, the kind of Brooklyn spot you pull up to for a real dinner experience, not just a quick bite. Highly recommend this place if you're out and about in Brooklyn. Definitely coming back for the tequila, the queso fundido, and round two of those tacos. I'm gonna try eating at the bar to check out the spot in the front of the house.
