Abundant selection of beers from all over, I could spend the entire night here sipping from the rotation on tap and bottle. Service is quick, friendly and very helpful. Music selection was right up my alley and added to the relaxed atmosphere. Really cool spot and connected to a restaurant on the other side I would easily try. Absolutely one of the best spots to go to for a good pour. Thank you Proletariat!

Nice ambience. Very limited options for food. The beyond burger was good. If you're going in happy hour, you'll get burger, fries and a Pilsner for $20. So, not a bad deal. Good service. You've to order at the bar and they'll serve you. Cheers!

Surprisingly spacious bar in this part of the village with an eclectic beer list and chill vibe. Saturday evening, crowds haven't rolled in yet, as most of the place is empty, particularly a small table outside for nicer weather. As mentioned, the beer list is unique, but the prices match that. $12-14 for full pours and $8-10 for half (so on). They also have a few cans for sale towards the end of the bar, though not as fully stocked as their tap list. For food, there are some items on the menu, but not substantial. Decided to get some food from somewhere else for pickup while finishing the beers outside. Seems like a fine spot for a more lowkey bar as opposed to the normal sports bars in the area.

What a cool and unique place. A bunch of friends and I were bar hopping in the area on this street and decided to stop by here first. I really like the concept of the place. You get to order super unique specialty beers from all around the world. I've been to 60 countries and drink like a fish, and never heard of most of what they had to offer. We sat outside, although the seating there isn't great because the street is pretty busy and some trash were nearby. Service was great and very knowledgeable about everything they had. If you're the type of person who gets paralyzed by making decisions, then you can answer a few questions and they will give you a top notch recommendation. I tried 3-4 different ones and I can't complain about a single one. All my friends loved it too! Highly recommend.

I remember coming here very randomly years ago and really enjoyed my time here. It is a very small establishment that fits around 20 people and prides itself on rare, new and unusual beers. They still have a lot of options on tap during COVID. I got a really good stout and a sour one. I recall that the first time I was here I was able to sample some of the beers before committing to one. That may have changed because of COVID or we just had a very nice bartender that first night. I will be coming back to try other beers.

#20 stout in the foreground and this was the only pic I took because I was having too much fun

Proletariat is my new favorite place! What an original beer menu and ALL TASTE GREAT! The service is spectacular and the atmosphere is supercool, laid back, and inviting with your choices between darker/lighter/private/communal nooks and crannies all around. The B burger and fries were fantastic, as were the peppers! This place rocks my world and I'm already planning another rendezvous there soon.

Proletariat is my go-to spot for some serious beer if I'm around East Village. Most of their beer are not for everyone. Many of them are citrusy, bitter, and super strong. So if you are a person who likes to drink light beer with some bar food, this is probably not the place for you. But if you are a adventurous foodie like me, welcome, you've come to the right place! The items and flavor notes are all written on a piece of blackboard. But if you really have no idea, just ask the bartender to give you a bunch of half glasses to try (the portion is really not that small). All their beer are served in fancy wine glasses, so drinking from it makes me feel like a big shot~ haha This place does get a little be packed during the weekend though, people will have to stand shoulder to shoulder, but hey, that means you gonna be standing a lot closer with your date right? Tips: + just ask the bartender for recommendations

Great selection of beers. They rotate frequently. If you love beer and more quiet bars, come here.

They have sports playing on TVs above the bar so that's nice if you want to dissociate a bit. Came here after a birthday dinner and had a El Spicy Rico which was actually pretty good. I wouldn't choose to come here just because the demographic and music, but if I were 21, I could see myself coming here.

I recently had my birthday party in the back room at the Vig Bar and 100% recommend! Cancion, the…read moreevent coordinator, was extremely responsive beforehand and answered all of my questions in detail which made the planning process super easy. Upon arriving, I was immediately greeted by the manager and other staff to make sure I was all settled for my party, which I really appreciated. This space has a partnership with a pizza place up the street to order food but also provides flexibility to bring in your own food which a lot of places do not allow. They also allowed me to bring balloons and cake which many places also don't allow. I had around 40 people and there was plenty of space to sit down or stand. It wasn't too loud so I was able to have a conversation with friends while also enjoying the music. The music was great and we even stayed afterwards to enjoy the DJ and the vibes were still strong. If you're looking for a private space, this is the perfect spot for your party! My friends are still talking about how cool this space was and were very impressed!
