For food, between three friends, we went for the coxinha, black kale and beet salad, and the feijoada. Coxinha - nice and crispy Black kale and beet salad - dressing was amazing Feijoada - the black bean stew was seasoned so well and went together with everything on the platter. Walked-in and got a table for 3 for a late Friday lunch, but seats definitely filled up the later it got. Mainly giving 4 stars instead of 5 because of the long wait. We waited 25+ minutes for our food to come out. Our appetizer came out even later because they thought it already came out. The food is appetizing though. such a cute little hole-in-the-wall brazilian spot and i love coming here for happy hour. the caipirinhas are $9 and i've tried the guava, passionfruit, and lime flavors, all delicious. just a heads up though, they can lean sweet if that's not really your thing. you have to order the pão de queijo to start. even if you're still figuring out the menu, order it right away because they make it fresh and it takes about 15 minutes. it comes with this amazing guava sauce and is such a classic brazilian comfort food. we also got the coxinha, a few empanadas, and the mandioca frita (fried yuca fries). the beef empanada was definitely my favorite. so juicy and never dry. everything tasted fresh and delicious. the staff is always friendly, the vibe is cozy and the music is flowing, and it's one of those places that feels like a hidden gem you just keep wanting to come back to :) read more

The cheese is a bit salty but the bread is still delicious plain this way--but adding the guava jam changes the palette by making it sweet and still so yummy. I would definitely return just for this. For my entree I tried their prato vegetariano and I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as the pão de queijo. I found it pretty plain for my liking, but that might be because I prefer stronger flavors. The service here is super slow, prepare to spend 2-3 hours here. The coxhinas are delicious, I would come back just for them! I got the chicken melinesa was overcooked on the outside and chewy on the inside. I ate maybe 4 bites max until I just stopped eating. The waitress asked if I wanted a togo box, I said no. She then looked at my plate, looked at me and then asked if I'm sure.. I said I'm sure. So I paid full price for a terrible meal I didn't even eat and on top of that, the restaurant didn't seem to care I didn't eat, yet alone not like the food. Maybe it was in some fusion restaurant or some restaurant that blended this cuisine with a certain area of South America, but either way, I sure had Brazilian food today at this lovely restaurant called Beco (Brazilian Portuguese for alley). Beco was the "Real Deal" experience with this fantastic cuisine. Everything on the menu was strange, different but exciting which made this all the more interesting. And those chips landed in a very good place: * The Pao De Queijo was a traditional Brazilian cheese bread with a sweet dipping sauce * Auru is a popular Brazilian sandwich. AMAZEBALLS! When I eat, I'm not one to make "mmmm" or "uugghhhh" or whatever sounds when something is good. I ordered Cochinha for lunch. Thus is a popular fried Brazilian street food made to resemble a chicken drumstick. I love cochinha, but rarely see on a restaurant menu so I had to try it. It tastes as I remember it from my days in São Paulo. Henrique, the owner said they make all of its components in house. I stopped by the other day on a whim (of course, checked their amazing 5 star reviews on Yelp before sitting down) and such a lovely meal while dining on their patio solo. I ordered some empanadas, Pao de Queijo and yucca fries. I washed them all down with a very strong ice coffee. The ambiance here is soo cute and the lovely brazilian accents of their staff really made me feel like I was a world away from home. Their whole team couldn't have been more pleasant and everything was absolutely delicious. Looking back, I did go quite ham on the carb overload, so perhaps next time I will mix it up a bit and try some of their steak or seafood dishes. Authentic in every sense of the word. Wouldn't have noticed this little gem if it wasn't for a friend that lived in the area. Cheese bread is a must. Almost like a mochi texture. The guava jam they give you is nice. Can't pass up an acai bowl when you're dining at a Brazilian restaurant. Empanadas are huge, crispy and very tasty. Steak and eggs cooked perfectly. First time, I came for brunch and had a delectable version of Eggs Benedict (Eggs Florentine) The second time I was here, we split some empañadas and the Bauru sandwich. The empanadas were perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. The bauru was served on the most beautifully aesthetic baguette and the steak was undoubtedly delectable. I stopped by for lunch yesterday and we had the best caipirinhas (one was regular lime and the other was pineapple mint) - only note is that they could serve these in larger glasses, as mine was mainly ice. Their brunch menu was great though - has a mix of traditional Brazilian and American dishes. The side salad that came with it though was literally just a container of raw spinach. Nothing else. When the sandwich and a side salad is $17.00, I do expect an actual side salad. Came here with some friends for a weekend brunch without much expectation. We had the option to sit inside or outside, so we opted for the outside seating because it was a little bit quieter. The service was okay, our waiter kept our water filled. The food was a little lackluster, considering for the price. The frozen drink was 15 bucks and it came in a tiny little cup. I don't think there was any booze in it tbh, so I would skip this... For the entree, I ordered the Bife a Cavalo. We came for outdoor dining brunch and were pleased to find a cute set-up. There are several seats under the awning and several seats under huge umbrellas, which were clutch as it poured midway through our brunch. We ordered the caipirinhas, which were a steal for 10 dollars each. I got the passion fruit one and my friend got the guava. They were so delicious and not too strong! We wanted to order another round, but the pouring rain changed our minds. For the brunch options, I got the steak and eggs that came with rice and beans. It was very good. Something I can definitely have again and again. My friend got the national dish and thought it was good too, but she didn't know what to do with the farrofa as it didn't really taste like anything. My lovely friends took me to beco. I had no idea this place existed until today and I'm so happy I was introduced. We had the pao de queijo as well the beef and ham and cheese empanadas as starters. The pao de queijo comes with a gauva sauce on the side that is so amazing and even more so when you smear it all over the pao. The empanadas were flakey and super flavorful. I had the bauru as a my main - the filet mignon was seasoned and cooked to perfection and the bread was toasted and crunchy. For drinks we ordered a pitcher of caipirinha (like flavored) which was super refreshing. Cute little restaurant with hearty food! I came here with friends yesterday around 5:30 and we were seated right away. We started with gluten free cheese bread (sorry, we dug in before taking a picture...) and it was delicious! The outside had a nice thin crunch and inside melted in your mouth. We shared plates of the feijoada and moqueca and loved both of them. The portions filled you up, however I could've used a little more pork in the feijoada. The pieces I did have were perfect, the meat was nice and soft. The shrimp in the stew was fresh. The collard greens were very refreshing; it looks like a huge portion but trust me, it'll be gone quick! I liked the yucca flour on my food but not too much of it; my other friend LOVED it so I guess it's all about how floury you prefer your dish. read more
