Came here for a nightcap. The vibes were good, with a good mix of people who seemed like they were on a date, friends having an night out, or people winding down, but it was good fit for all these groups. Tried their Gemma's sauce which I really enjoyed. The service was attentive and friendly. He made sure our waters were refilled and we were happy with what we had. Overall, a great spot in the area.

Cute spot. We enjoy the cocktail a lot and the menu is very creative. Had some appetizer bites felt short. Osso Buco Croquettes $20 very meaty, the sauce base was straight kabocha. Fried Artichoke $20 for 3 slices.

Been sitting on this review for awhile; but dang Bar Madonna was one of the best experiences I had in my recent trip to NYC. I had been seeing this smashed meatball parm burger and knew she would be perfect for me. She was. A light, soft bun beautifully caressed smashed meatball perfection. With the salty Parmesan crisp adding texture and some saltiness. The rich, marinara was seasoned to perfection with just a touch of sweetness to make the acidity in the tomato pop. Do not get me started on the fries. Garlic parm. Crispy. Oh lawd, they remind me of my favorite restaurant back home in stl. The vibes are delicate, in the sexiest way possible. Come here share an intimate celebration with your partner, or come catch up with a friend and drink 1 too many martinis. Either way, you'll receive unparalleled service. The bar tenders are slinging drinks mixed with liquor, camaraderie, and passionate smiles. What an absolute experience. This is added to the "special places in my heart" list

Stopped by happy hour and loved their oysters! The oysters came with a pickled sauce and I was surprised by how well the combo worked because I've always had oysters with either cocktail or mignonette. Also tried their limoncello milk punch which was very good!

Good date spot vibes with the lighting and nice interiors, but the music is pretty loud. Our waiter was kind and always checked in on us, so the service was great. Every item we got was VERY salty minus the Ossobuco Croquettes, which had a sauce that was really good! My friends tried the Limoncello Milk Punch and the Apollonia which they both thought were good. Would come back for the drinks, since that's what they're known for, but would definitely not order food again if it's that salty.

Ambience is cozy & dim w 90s r&b/hiphop creating a warm vibe Our waiter Zach was super attentive and helpful! Drinks: Limoncello Milk Punch & Old Fashioned, both were strong and hit the spot Food: Brussel Sprouts & Housemade garlic truffle fries I'm a Brussel sprout lover and I will say they are on the salty side but so addictive. Fries were great!

We just went for cocktails and oysters and had a great time! Tried 6 different cocktails here and a fruity shot and everything tasted great! This is a fun place to do a little happy hour/pre-dinner drinks. We also shared the oysters, which were fresh and great. The bartenders were so kind and easy to talk to. I had a great experience here! The place is a bit small, but clean and comfortable.

Have been wanting to check this place out and so glad we came! We stopped by on a Wednesday around 6pm and got a seat at the bar. The bar tender was super friendly and walked us through the menu and gave great recs on what to order. We had two really interesting/delicious cocktails, some happy hour oysters ($9 for 6 and had a great sort of seasoning on top), and of course the meatball parm sandwich which came with fries and one of the bar tenders brought us over truffle aioli for them and wow it made a huge difference and was excellent. Def recommend and will be back!

Reviewing mainly on the food. Tried both sandwiches, very tomato forward. Marinara sauce on the smashed parm was a tad too tart - texture of the patty was good. As for the chicken sandwich, chicken breast was too dry - didn't think the roasted tomato paired well. Entire restaurant also just smells like tart cooked tomatoes if that's your cup of tea ‍ Innovative burger, just not for me.

I wouldn't have known about Bar Madonna had a friend not told me about his recent visit there, and I'm glad he did. What a gem! I was able to make a last-minute reservation for 2 on an early Friday evening. On the exterior, it's an assuming building with a small sign letting you know you've come to the right place. The interior - sleek and sexy! A perfect venue for a date night, or a cute ladies night out gathering. We were quickly greeted by the host who provided us with several options for seating. We were 2 of 5 people there at the time and chose a small booth table near the front of the restaurant. I'd strongly recommend reservations. There are about a dozen 2-seater tables and the spot quickly filled up shortly after our arrival. The menu features a small handful of options, mostly small bites, but there are enough options to satisfy various palates and preferences. We opted for the arancini (special of the day) and the smashed meatball parm which we shared. The arancini was good though one of the cheeses they included was a little too pungent. The meatball smash was absolutely all delicious and didn't feel too heavy. I'd highly recommend the banana bussdown cocktail. Very dainty, well balanced and packed a punch. Service was excellent; from the host to the bar and wait staff. They were all attentive, friendly and accommodating. I absolutely loved the vibes; and that hip-hop and R&B playlist was sublime. Kudos to the curator! Made me wish there was more room to do a little two- step. It's a fairly new spot, so hoping they're around for a long time to come.

Some of the better bar food in the area. Good ambiance for drinks and service was fast/friendly. Would come back for the chicken sandwich. The fries needed just a tad more crisp/salt.

I raved about this place the first time around but this time was a total flop. Our main dish was missing for the better part of an hour, and every time we asked about it, they said it would only be a few more minutes. The smashed meatball parm sandwich was missing a lot of sauce and tomato flavor, and the Caesar salad was incredibly underdressed. It was also so loud the server couldn't hear us without shouting, and having a conversation was a mission. Wouldn't come back after this experience

Have never been for…read moredinner so can only speak for the lunch vibe, but I have found the service to be great and the lighting is nice because there are floor to ceiling windows. The menu is pretty diverse with various appetizers, sushi, and also ramen/curry so your standard izakaya fare. One of my favorite dishes here has been the chirashi. The fish was very fresh and it's pretty affordable. I've only ever been here in groups of two and I probably would recommend it for smaller groups because the space itself is small and most of the tables are two-seaters if I recall correctly.

It's been open for a few years, so clearly it has a good enough formula to keep the neighborhood happy. I have been here once before, but returned last week after dining several meals at Tomoni in Jackson Heights. Apparently, the owners are friends. Nonetheless, I needed to make the comparison. After my first few bites of their Tora Don and Chirashi Don, it was clear that this restaurant has the better quality seafood. Each slice of sashimi had vibrant colors, clean taste, and the proper texture. Tomoni is not bad, but fall slightly short of this caliber. With that said, there is an even farther gap between their rice quality. Though Tora is very good, Tomoni produces nearly perfect texture and acidity for my taste buds. Other than the best omakase restaurants in NYC, Tomoni shines as one of the best versions of sushi rice in the five boroughs. Service is good and space is cute. If I have a craving for some decent Japanese food, I would drive 20 minutes here for a meal anytime.
