I also loved that the artwork on the plates is a tribute to the owners' family--it was such a thoughtful, personal touch. This feels more like a cocktail bar that happens to serve great food, and I mean that in the best way. Every cocktail was expertly crafted and unique. The standouts were the Limoncello Milk Punch (my favorite!), the Mela Tini, and The Bialetti. The food was excellent, too. The Smashed Meatball Parm was a clever twist on the classic sandwich. The grilled romaine salad was next level, with crispy pancetta adding salty little bites of joy. The grilled wings weren't especially meaty, but they more than made up for it with their smoky, flavorful seasoning. Overall, I really enjoyed this spot. Came for cocktails on a Friday night. 4 of us couldn't get a table (1 hour wait) but found some standing room by the bar. My dry vodka martini was SO good! I had been seeing this smashed meatball parm burger and knew she would be perfect for me. She was. A light, soft bun beautifully caressed smashed meatball perfection. With the salty Parmesan crisp adding texture and some saltiness. The rich, marinara was seasoned to perfection with just a touch of sweetness to make the acidity in the tomato pop. Have been wanting to check this place out and so glad we came! We stopped by on a Wednesday around 6pm and got a seat at the bar. The bar tender was super friendly and walked us through the menu and gave great recs on what to order. We had two really interesting/delicious cocktails, some happy hour oysters ($9 for 6 and had a great sort of seasoning on top), and of course the meatball parm sandwich which came with fries and one of the bar tenders brought us over truffle aioli for them and wow it made a huge difference and was excellent. Reviewing mainly on the food. Tried both sandwiches, very tomato forward. Marinara sauce on the smashed parm was a tad too tart - texture of the patty was good. As for the chicken sandwich, chicken breast was too dry - didn't think the roasted tomato paired well. I wouldn't have known about Bar Madonna had a friend not told me about his recent visit there, and I'm glad he did. What a gem! I was able to make a last-minute reservation for 2 on an early Friday evening. On the exterior, it's an assuming building with a small sign letting you know you've come to the right place. The interior - sleek and sexy! A perfect venue for a date night, or a cute ladies night out gathering. We were quickly greeted by the host who provided us with several options for seating. We were 2 of 5 people there at the time and chose a small booth table near the front of the restaurant. I'd strongly recommend reservations. There are about a dozen 2-seater tables and the spot quickly filled up shortly after our arrival. The menu features a small handful of options, mostly small bites, but there are enough options to satisfy various palates and preferences. We opted for the arancini (special of the day) and the smashed meatball parm which we shared. The arancini was good though one of the cheeses they included was a little too pungent. The meatball smash was absolutely all delicious and didn't feel too heavy. I'd highly recommend the banana bussdown cocktail. Very dainty, well balanced and packed a punch. Service was excellent; from the host to the bar and wait staff. They were all attentive, friendly and accommodating. I absolutely loved the vibes; and that hip-hop and R&B playlist was sublime. Kudos to the curator! Made me wish there was more room to do a little two- step. It's a fairly new spot, so hoping they're around for a long time to come. read more

I raved about this place the first time around but this time was a total flop. Our main dish was missing for the better part of an hour, and every time we asked about it, they said it would only be a few more minutes. The smashed meatball parm sandwich was missing a lot of sauce and tomato flavor, and the Caesar salad was incredibly underdressed. We came in for date night dinner and shared the fluke crudo, grilled baby romaine, octopus and the smashed meatball parm. The smashed meatball parm was great but everything else left more to be desired. To be blantly honest, the octopus should be avoided, it was salty and the presentation kind of gross. We love octopus and it's a must order for us when we see it on the menu so it was sad that it was such a miss for us. Started with some oysters, no hot sauce or mignonette but tbh didn't need it. Juicy Oxtail croquettes to follow. Meatball smash sandwiches, which were the mention in Infatuation that caught my eye (a tiny bit dry on first bite, but it's because I'm a red sauce ADDICT and my partner debated that I'm delusional). Straccietalla which made the PERFECT dessert but of course we needed the cannolis to follow. The cannoli shells were so fresh and crunchy. You can't go wrong with a single cocktail here and I foresee them being booked out VERY soon. This was their first Sunday open and quickly a neighborhood favorite. This place is a winner for the following reasons: 1. The menu is small enough to hold yoiur focus and not be exhausting. Everything I've tried, from the sandwiches to the smaller plates, has been delicious. The cocktails are all superb. 2. The hunter green loungey interior invites one to linger. It is handsome and staid, dreamy and lush. 3. The staff are fantastic. The hostess on every occaison has been sweet and accommodating and while the servers seem very busy, you never feel you're not a priority. They are friendly and super-focused. The vibe is playful, festive, with a welcome streak of good humor. The second I finished a drink of water, the glass was re-filled. I like that this place is brand new but knows what it's doing. It is obviously from a very experienced team, and the team is good at what they do. I feel like I keep going to places lately that are buzzy and new but the funding came from *somewhere* and everything feels dizzy, even inept. The Limoncello Milk Punch, the Apollonia, and the Zia's Lychee Martini were our 3 favorites. The Grilled Baby Romaine is a must; it's their take on a Caesar salad. If you like spice, you must try the Calabrese Hot Wings. The Smashed Meatball Parm melts in your mouth and the Strip Steak was perfectly cooked!
