This is a kid bowl of feijoada not a adult size for 30$ dollars

Very expensive , portions are small , they have reduced portions and raised the prices . Quality of food is not as authentic as it used to be, proceed with caution ..

PROS: - live music - location - staff is friendly - large food portions CONS: - Everything else! - cocktails are a joke and served in the smallest cocktail glasses I've ever seen at a restaurant and filled with ice and very little actual liquor - menu says they only add automatic 20% tip to parties of 6 or more, which is a lie! They add automatically to everyone! - food lacking flavor and seasoning - tight inside/seating space I don't think I could honestly recommend this place. The food is actually decent enough, but it's extremely overpriced! Cocktail glasses are small, feels like you only get like 2oz of actual liquid and prob a lot less of actual liquor! The small cocktail glasses are filled to the brim with ice and little liquor for $14! Food is decent, but def needs more local seasoning and flavors. The live music is the best part of the restaurant! They automatically add a 20% tip to EVERYONE'S tip, which is fine, but I feel like people should have the option to leave their own tip based on their food, service, and experience. We paid more than $250 for a subpar meal and $54 bottle of wine. I've eaten at better more upscale and deserving places than this for less! When a place automatically adds a 20% tip for everyone, it's suspect! Wish I read the other reviews before eating here. I would never eat here again based on drinks, prices, and deceptive tip practices! Not cool!

This spot is amazing. Anyone who doesn't like it is dumb and has bad taste. Great vibes, great music, good food. Service was good

Steak and cheese sandwich and fries. $21

Came in on a Sunday for a late brunch. Place wasn't packed at all. Maybe 4 parties all together. Service was very slow considering. The food was very good and big portions. We had the steak sandwich (pictured), salmon with yuca mash and the steak and onions which came with a side of fries, rice and beans. I would return. I also hear they have live bands on Sundays at 5pm.

Great experience here. There's outdoor seating and you don't even have to touch the menu because it's pre-written on a chalk board. The two gentlemen that served us were super sweet and accommodating. I came here because I had a craving for some coxinha and it hit the spot. Everything else was a bonus and I surprisingly loved the veggie dish, which I recommend! My friend and I each ordered a Caipriniha (mine was mango). Great place to play catch up with your friend!

Caipirinha (Classic)

Amazing food, wonderful service, chill vibe! Came here for brunch with a girlfriend and we had a great time. Everyone was very friendly and pleasant, even those not serving our table. It was a really warm day so we opted to sit inside. It wasn't very crowded, which was nice. There were many options for seating, inside, on the attached patio outdoor or the outdoor street seating. They had the doors and windows open with fans on so even though we stayed inside, there was still and outside feel only cooler. For drinks we had the caipirinha. Unfortunately they had limited flavors that day. I believe only, mango, passion fruit and one other I can't recall. I got the classic and my girlfriend got the passion fruit. Both were excellent. My only issue were the glasses were too small. For our meal we both ordered the picanha steak ou fatiada. We saw this sizzling steak dish come out for another table and it looked so good that we asked what it was. The server told us and also said he recommended it. It was a really good recommendation. Both entrees came with French fries and rice and beans. My girlfriend added a fried egg. The food was spectacular. The temperature of the steak was cooked exactly how we wanted and great seasoning. The fries were shoestring and had a nice crunch. The rice and beans were nicely seasoned. Definitely no complaints. I would definitely return and would happily order the same meal or try something else.

Costella No Bafo

The food was pretty decent - the costella no bafo was really delicious. The location wasn't my favorite, and it gets a little rowdy if you sit indoors on the weekend. I probably wouldn't return as it is a bit pricey for what you get, but worth checking out!

This place is whole Brazilian vibe. But don't come here if being around a lot of people makes you itchy. The joint was packed with people just having a good ass time! I had a shot of cachaca that looks like is infused with sugar cane. It was in a huge bottle sitting at the bar. Also had a caipirinha. The drinks were so good. The music was pumping. People were singing and dancing. Next time I'll have to try the food. Cash only!

We decided to go to this place on the whim. The colorful chairs and ambience make you feel like you are right in Brazil. The only downside is the that it is close to the train so very difficult to sit outside and have a conversation. I thoroughly enjoyed the Bobo de Camarao. The shrimp was in a coconut milk base and it was excellent with the rice. Absolutely delicious! My friend ordered the bife acebolado (steak with onion and fries, rice and beans). The steak had a lot of fat. The rice and beans was a little dry and beans needed more sauce... and salt. Overall I thought it was an excellent and spontaneous choice.

Classic caiprinhia & strawberry cairpinhia

Been coming here for years and the taste does not change! Love the authenticity - menu is big and a little overwhelming however servers are very accommodating and friendly! We started off with the caiprinhia - a staple for this place. Drinks are delicious and have a nice kick - however cups are a little smaller so wasn't too fond. We ordered the churrasco mixto - now the menu says for 2. But realistically, this can easily be for 4 people. It comes with French fries, 2 grilled chicken breast, a nice size steak, 2 sausages, and 2 porkchops. I failed to get a pic of the sides but it also comes with rice, beans, (their version of what looked like pico de gallo) so all in all it was a LOT of food. We had our own share there plus a portion each for lunch. Flavor and seasoning was BOMB! Everything was delicious nothing dry. Bill was about $100 for everything - def worth it

Calabresa Acebolada

We came here for dinner on Sunday (11/20/22) and let me tell you... It was great! This was our first time at Miss Favela and will be coming back. Chef William and his partner stopped by our table and talked with us. We started with the calabrasa (appetizer), then we had the garlic shrimp (appetizer) and the picanha fatiada. It was 10/10. The quality of the food was fantastic and reminded us of the food in our hometown in Brazil. If you are looking for an authentic Brazilian experience, come to Miss Favela. On Saturdays they have pagode and forró no domingo. We also had beer from Brazil and "one of the best pudim de leite" we have ever had.

This place was a bit small inside but that's only because it got busy and it's for a good reason. The food tasted fantastic, the only complaint I have is that they only accept cash. It's not really good for large groups so keep your party under 4. They can't accommodate large groups when it's busy, but maybe on a slow night or during the day they can. I would say this is a great traditional feel and look of a Brazilian restaurant. The samba night was awesome. I would totally recommend this place for a date. Coming from a Brazilian this is as true to a authentic as you can get even the music and look of the restaurant is like taking a chunk out of my home town and putting it in Brooklyn.

Loved it the place, service and food were amazing. Our waitress Juliana was the best. Great drinks, best caipirinha ever. Live music and a lot of fun.

Definitely worth another trip. I got the Cajun club (w/o tomatoes) sandwich and the frozen margarita. Both were soooo good! I chose this place because I had visited a few times in the past and expected a positive environment. While there, I ran into an old friend who was accompanying individuals with special needs. They informed us about the R&B karaoke event, and we attempted to participate respectfully and supportively. Unfortunately, after participating, the DJ became rude and dismissive. My friends decided not to continue because each time they attempted to request a song, the DJ was unkind and impatient, seemingly unaware--or unconcerned--that they were individuals with special needs. The situation escalated when I attempted to calmly address the disrespect. Instead of listening, the bartender repeatedly accused me of being drunk simply because I was defending myself after a rude comment. I was not intoxicated; I was advocating for respectful treatment. Even the DJ's own companion appeared visibly shocked by the comment made toward me, as if anticipating a reaction. I remained composed and professional despite being deeply upset. What disappointed me most was the staff's decision to defend the DJ's behavior rather than acknowledge how inappropriate and disrespectful the interaction was. This reflects poorly on how this establishment treats people--especially those who deserve patience, understanding, and dignity. I came expecting an enjoyable brunch experience and left feeling ashamed for having trusted this place. It is clear that the venue prioritizes protecting mediocre DJs with minimal local popularity over treating customers with basic respect. Poor organization, lack of proper event management, and unprofessional staff behavior made this experience unacceptable. I have visited many establishments and have never felt so disrespected. I will not be returning.

TL;DR version- Some high highs and some very low lows. Hot Figs was a fun app. By a mile, the soups…read morewere the favorites, so I would recommend the Pepián or Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo. Nice happy hour and a large chocolate drink selection I was at this unique Guatemalan (ish) restaurant a while back with one of my groups. I said "ish" because the menu has dishes from all over, ranging from sandwiches to BBQ ribs to Guatemalan and Mexican soups. It's out there, and even though not everything works that well, it's fun, and if you can't find something you want to order here, you probably shouldn't go out to restaurants. There was also live jazz music that night, which was loud but nice to listen to. Since it was happy hour, a bunch of us got drinks. I went with a maracuya margarita, which was decent; someone else had a jalapeño margarita, someone had a beer, and someone had a mojito. There were a few nice hot sauces on the table, with the red one reminding me of salsa macha as it had a smoky kick and a spicier green sauce reminiscent of ají verde. They gave us some complimentary blue corn chips and a very mild black bean dip, which was tasty enough and hard to complain about, as it was free. From the appetizers, we got the Hot Figs for $15.95, consisting of honey goat cheese, corn tortilla chips, and plum + pumpkin seeds. This was a unique and fun blend and reminded me more of something you would find in a wine bar. The mix of sweet and salty, with a bit of crunch from the seeds, was nice. This was good, and I would recommend it for a table rather than for a solo diner. There was also The Zingy Salad for $21.95, featuring zucchini spirals, yuzu, tomato, onion, cilantro, pumpkin seeds, and a jalapeño infusion. $18.95. The salad was fine with a bit of crunch and a mild spiciness. It was fine, though a bit wet, for lack of a better word. The best dishes of the night were the soups, which each had its own distinct flavor profile. My sight presence went to the Pepián for $21.95, consisting of chicken, pumpkin/sesame seeds, green tomatillo, cinnamon, cumin, black pepper, carrots, chili coban/pasta/guaque, and potato + rice. There was plenty of tender chicken inside, with the soup having a nice roasted flavor with some spice and a bit of sourness. The potatoes and rice on the bottom added more sustenance to this dish. Almost equally delicious was the Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo for a dollar more with shredded chicken, tomato, black pepper, garlic, onions, peas, chickpeas, corn, achiote, chipotle, Monterey jack cheese, and crunchy blue corn tortilla chips. By comparison, this was a bit heartier, with the melted cheese and shredded tortilla chips inside, similar to soups found in Mexican cuisine. While I also liked the mix of veggies a bit more in this one, as it added a bit more texture, I still slightly preferred the flavor of the other soup, as I usually prefer a bit more spice. The rest of the food was fine. The TPC sandwich for $19.95 with chicken, peanut butter, coconut cream, ginger, cilantro, pickled carrots, and lime was fine. For the number of ingredients, I found it a bit sweet, likely from the cream and the peanut butter mix. The bread was nice, but it also fell apart. It came with a nice side salad with a good vinaigrette. The most expensive at $24.95 were the Slow Cooked BBQ Ribs, consisting of baby back ribs with rice and beans. The ribs were almost a bit too tender as they lacked any bite, which was nice, but the sauce was a bit too generic tasting, reminding me of Sweet Baby Ray's or something similar. The rice and beans were standard. This was also OK. Next came some dessert. There was first the $12.95 Rosemary Churros served with dulce de leche & chocolate dips. While I'm not sure if it worked, the rosemary did add a unique smell and a bit of flavor, and at least it wasn't generic. The churros themselves were hot, and the sauces were standard, with my preference being the dulce de leche. I also ordered a Champurrado for $7.95, which was fine. It wasn't as thick as I expected, though perhaps the style is a bit different than the champurrados I rarely buy from Mexican street carts. The chocolate flavor was very nice, though, and I like that it wasn't too sweet. Another person got a $4 Alfajor, which I got a bite of, which was standard. This place is a bit hard to rate. The two soups were wonderful, I liked the appetizers, and I found a couple of the other dishes just OK. Overall, it was a good meal, but I'm not craving to go back. This would be the perfect 3.5, but I'll round up as that doesn't exist.
