Gorgeous gem of a cafe in Bay Ridge! We have been customers for years (my mother and even my grandparents went to Cappuccino Cafe). Absolutely love the beautiful ambience of highly shined wooden tables and brick walls adds to the warmth of this intimate cafe, which is elegant, charming and cozy. When you arrive at the cafe, you can smell the sweet aroma of coffee from the cappuccino machine. I love that you can take a seat at any table and that you can take your time to have your cup of coffee and eat your meal. Big shoutout to our waitress, who was very energetic and so attentive. We were offered to get drinks, so I was vibing the pina colada -- take a look at the extensive coffee brews and beverages. Then, I had the classic cheeseburger with seasoned waffle fries. It was seriously the juiciest burger that was cooked to total perfection. Best burger in town! We were then sweetly surprised by a treat presented by our waitress. It was a hot freshly baked waffle with whipped cream and powdered sugar. Oh and the pretty finishing touch of the strawberry cut into a rose on the waffle. It was a photo-worthy moment! I love showing some support to my local neighborhood businesses. This is a place I always drove past and we decided to give it a shot. We ordered their burger, their chicken burger which is basically fried chicken (thin) cutlets, potato skins and their wings. The burger was great, nothing special, definitely flavorful, would get it again. The chicken burger was delicious but if I could make one change or addition, I would add some sort of sauce and cheese and this sandwich would be phenomenal. I actually used the cheese from the potato skins to enhance my chicken burger, hah! The potato skins were delicious, you get to choose from 2 toppings. We got sour cream and cheese. The cheese is the same you would get if you ordered nachos (cheese wiz), definitely a plus! The only disappointment was their wings. They were just plain old wings with not much flavor. They need to definitely enhance their wing game and add some sauce and also change the actual wings and they will take over the game. Walked in and saw this place packed at noon with elderlies and some kids. My friend and I have been curious on trying this place out for awhile now just because it's next to The Greenhouse Cafe. We were seated a little late because mostly one waiter was going back and forth on bringing out orders at the time. When we saw the menu, it was kind of blinding to read all that text, but it was manageable. I saw that they had fruit & cheeses for their menu and I've barely seen any places that have cheeseboards in their menu so I was very happy to try that out. Originally I had wanted Brie/Pepper Jack/Soft Cheddar, but they were out of Brie so I got Roquefort instead. The selection of three cheeses and assorted fruit w/ crackers was $15. My friend had ordered a Strawberry Margerita (says it's weak for a guy) and the waiter informs us on being out of strawberries. My friend was disappointed, but he opted for a regular. I ended up getting a Pina Colada so my friend wouldn't feel awkward drinking so early in the afternoon. Both were $6 each. When the fruits and cheeses arrived on the platter, it seemed appealing. However, I can see where those strawberries went (haha). The selection of fruit were very limited because the oranges served as decoration, but the crackers were just brittle and the Roquefort wasn't easy to spread on the poor cracker. I ended up just eating the cheeses alone. However my friend was disgusted with the idea of eating fruits together with the cheese. So he robbed my strawberries and put them into his margerita to prevent my wrath of cheese coating. The roquefort cheese was really salty top on of biting into those saltine crackers. So I ate slices of pepper jack and cheddar in between to alternate. My friend didn't get to finish his wrap and said it was underwhelming. He expected a pickle on the side, but got a regular cucumber sliced like a pickle. Quite funny to see the disappointment, but we ended our meal with a tiramisu. I should have probably started with dessert. It was really good except for the soggy cake being on the top layer underneath the whipped cream. I'm okay with coming here, but maybe not for brunch/lunch. I can probably give another try on this place. Another day perhaps. read more

This place is amazing. The ambience is very relaxing and pretty. The food is all great. No matter what I order I'm always happy. They have a few lunch and dinner menus that have several set items on them and each option on menu is great. I was there yesterday and I ordered from their dinner menu and ordered a Cesar salad, shrimp scampi, waffle with ice cream and coffee! All portions were huge, they don't cheap out at all! I enjoyed ever bit of the meal and left so stuffed! The shrimp scampi came with a nice portion of mixed veggies and mashed potatoes. Delish! After eating all that my bill was $21! Can you believe all that for $21??? This place doesn't disappoint. I frequent here regularly bc I know I get a lot for my buck! Not great - completely dead on a Saturday night. My friend and I stopped by for a small bite before going out - she got the calamari and I got an order of hand cut fries. It was all right. The fries were huge but weren't seasoned at all. We also ordered two specialty coffees and a creme brulee to share. The coffees were okay, nothing special. I would give 0 stars if possible .I went to eat there last night and i may have had the worst dining experience of my life and it's sad because I remember this place not being half bad. They literally screwed up every step of the way 1. Took 4 mins to seat my wife and I despite there being only 5 customers in there. 2. Forgot to give us menus and walks off 3. Forgets to take drink order 4. Forgets to bring drinks. 5. Brings 1 out of 2 drinks . 6.takes forever to bring appetizers. 7. Brings 1 out of 3 appetizers and forgets to give plates or utensil. 8. Takes over 5 mins to give us plates and utensils, by this time the foods cold. 9. 15 mins later they bring the 2 remaining appetizers and our entrees. 10. Didn't ask if we needed refills. 11. So disappointing. First of all, none of the items my boyfriend and I had were actually good. Not even the coffee... Given such a name, you would think at least that coffee drinks would be alright. Do not get the crepes - they are not actually crepes. They are also not... Edible. My go to place for a quick bite or take out. The onion soup is amazing. I get the grilled chicken Cesar salad or wrap with extra dressing. It's real dressing. The fries are always good and I have them put cheese on top. The service is good and they have televisons. Sorry no bar area to sit at however you can sit next store it's the same place different name. Nice place to go for dessert and coffee. The price is right and it's always good. The staff was unresponsive, and it didn't seem that anyone had ever put them through "Server101." Simple formalities such as, "Would you like to start out with some drinks" and devolping a repor with us to help craft our experience were totally passed by. The worst moment was when they brought a drink, the glass had a crack in it. (Not a problem) It took 10 minutes to flag someone down in an empty resturant, and we even made eye contact with another server.. who did nothing! We had to get up and go to server station to get them to help us. As a server of 4 years, you know where to be critical and to be leinient of a staff. The apps took 20 minutes and it was about 30 - 35 minutes before the main course arrived during a Saturday lunch with only 2 other tables occupied in the place. The waitress spent more time reading the paper then attending to the tables. Food: The food was very good, but the espresso was hardly even warm when served. I recomend the Mussles with white sauce for the app. The largest, freshest I have had in a while. The sauce was to die for. If there were 10 loaves of bread at the table, I would have used them all for the sauce. My wife and daughter were using the half mussle shell as a spoon for the rest of the sauce. The cesear salad here is fantastic. My date and I chatted away the afternoon. When we left, he commented that he loved the food and the place. Cappuccino cafe has a great special: soda, entree, and treat for 7.95 and they will even deliver it!!! I enjoy most of their food and whenever we have gone there, the service was fine. I don't go to a restaurant if I am in a rush, I go to hang out and chat with friends, so I appreciate leisurely service. Scored a parking spot right in front of the place and getting a table was beyond easy - the place was empty during prime time in Bay Ridge. Hold it in if you could; they aren't so much dirty as they are squishy and in serious need of a makeover. The ambiance is fine; exposed brick with some light music playing and a muted plasma TV in the upper corner playing the news... hmmm maybe they are trying to appeal to all different types of people. The two waitresses moved sloooow and did not look happy - they were not mean in any way in fact they kind of depressed me so if anyone goes after reading this please send them a hug from me. Skip ordering an alcoholic drink, especially if it's Frangelico aka dirty watered down Frangelico. If you want to talk to someone, REALLY get to know them in silence, come here and order a cappuccino and hot waffles and ice cream (ask for the syrup they don't bring it automatically). Also feel free to get bananas with your ice cream, although it wasn't on the menu they were able to do it with no problem. Walk in this place on Saturday night at 8pm we were the only people in there. I shoulda walked out but nostalgia kept me there. A mistake of course. All little girls serving. Their burgers used to rival Skinflints. Of course they were terrible. I asked if they had soft CHEDDAR cheese the sever says yes and I get neon yellow nacho cheese sauce on my fries ruined the whole plate. I had to scrape that nasty stuff off just to eat a few and they put the same sauce on my greasy burger. I couldn't wait to swallow what I could and get out. If they can't put out a decent burger why bother. So many better cheaper places around. Will never go back period. Today, while trying to figure out where to eat, I mentioned this place and we gave it a shot. Still looks pretty much the same as it did back then. A small cozy spot attached to the Greenhouse Cafe. Not many people in when we were there. Waitress did a good job keeping tabs on us and getting our orders correct. we had various items and mine was the smoked turkey wrap. I like this spot for lunch. It's a cozy restaurant, nice menu and good prices. They have a special menu which includes an entree, drink and dessert for $7.95. My favorite is The Nanny (grilled chicken on nan bread with olive spread, side salad with raspberry vinaigrette). I will agree with other reviewers about the service. It's been hit or miss for me. There is a waitress who looks and acts as if she'd rather be elsewhere but the waiters are pretty good. Last time I dined here they were pretty busy but they were attentive considering. I have to give one star because I cannot give zero stars. This restaurant is flat-out disgusting. The service is horrible, but that's the least of their problems. It has definetly changed for the worse over the years. We actually got a burger and Caesar salad and it had hair on it. The lettuce was not washed, and the tomatoes were almost rotted. The burger was Absolutely disgusting, so greasy and cheese wasn't even real. it was the most disgusting cheese sauce, cheese whiz would have been much better. If they if you cannot make something as simple as a Caesar salad and a burger, I wouldn't imagine what they do to the rest of their food, and I certainly would not want to find out. He gave out gift certificates during the summer, but apparently regrets that, even though it was promotion for him. Had lunch at the Cappuccino Cafe with a friend the other day. We both had the lunch special, ordering "The Nanny" which was a delicious hot grilled chicken sandwich mixed with olive spread and served on naan. This was accompanied by a side salad with a good raspberry vinaigrette. Service was excellent. The special came with coffee, tea, or a soft drink and a "treat" which was either a brownie with whipped cream or a quarter waffle with ice cream. We both got the brownie and it was warm and lovely. We asked why and the water said "the staff has to set up for a private party that starts at 6 PM". We asked for the manager, but the waiter stated there was non on site.
