A storefront gem in the shadow of the Verrazano. It is quiet enough to converse. It is BYOB! They serve duck, bison, elk, lamb, beef, rabbit, lobster, & shrimp. And pastas, & burgers w/ fries, & a short rib melted cheese sandwich that is intense. Besides fruit -based desserts, there is a killer chocolate torte. Fresh seasonal fruits & vegetables are showcased. If you want to know what bouillabaisse or beef Stroganoff is supposed to taste like, come here. Under $30 for a lobster roll w/ fresh potato chips! Flaming meringue Pavlova. Brunch/Lunch menu has buckwheat blueberry pancakes, steak & eggs, French toast, & the usual suspects, only waaaay better. They serve fresh herbal teas & juices. This man can cook the classic dishes hardly anybody makes anymore. Beautiful food, unpretentious setting, friendly staff. If street parking were easier, I'd be here more often.

The food is delicious well prepared and thought out. I've had issues with the wait staff before being cold and inattentive but that seems to be changing which is great because if the service matches the quality of the food then sky is the limit for beets and carrots. I've dined in and ordered take out many times and the food never disappoints.

Such a hidden gem! Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The scallops were perfectly seared, the roasted broccoli was packed with flavor, and the beet and carrot hummus was a colorful and tasty surprise. The cozy, artistic vibe inside made it even better. Highly recommend if you're looking for a place that truly delivers on both taste and atmosphere!

It's very cold outside so I decided to go to Beets and Carrots Farm-to-Table Restaurant in Bayridge area of Brooklyn NYC. I started with their Coney Island clam chowder that had a very zesty tomato base, fresh vegetables and a very generous portion of clams. It definitely warmed my bones. For my main dish I had the Wild Boar pappardelle, this homemade pasta dish with braised wild boar and pine nuts was delicious and hit the spot. All ingredients in all the food I had tasted very fresh which was exactly what you expect from farm to table restaurants. I will say one negative thing though....i ordered one of their home made chocolate chip cookies for the walk back to the hotel. Midway through the walk home I finally took a bite of the cookie and was instantly betrayed by the flavor! It was not a chocolate chip cookie but an oatmeal raisin cookie! Don't get me wrong, it tasted good after the shock of expecting decadent chocolate chip only to be chewing on raisins and oatmeal. Other than that mix up, if you're in the area definitely stop by! My second visit I will have to try the Rabbit Pot pie. Enjoy the pictures!

Call me a millennial but I love the concept of farm-to-table restaurants. The produce is always fresher, it's more sustainable as you get to support local businesses, and sometimes you get to try something totally new. I came to Beets and Carrots on a Saturday afternoon for some brunch. It's on a relatively quiet stretch of 3rd Ave, right by the tip of Bay Ridge, and the space is pretty small but there are lots of small tables and a large one in the middle. We ordered the buckwheat-quinoa pancakes ($14), the shrimp and grits ($20), and the organic Amish burger ($25). As a person who usually does not gravitate towards pancakes or waffles, I was pretty impressed by Beets and Carrots' version, which was dotted with blueberries and had a delightfully crispy edge. The taste of buckwheat is front and center, and the syrup was drizzled with a light hand which I personally appreciated. The shrimp and grits were great, as the(likely stone-ground) grits had a bit of texture and were very buttery. The duck sausage and the shrimp were both a little too salty for my preference but I loved the color and sweetness from the bell peppers. The burger was pretty standard; I don't think there was much that set it apart from others in terms of taste. I noticed there was only a chef in the kitchen and a waiter for the whole restaurant, which explained why the food was a little slow to come out. Our server was very nice, but he did forget the ketchup we asked for, and I felt bad asking a second time because he was running around as the restaurant was starting to fill up. Overall, it's a very cute space and the food is generally delicious but I would advise you to keep in mind that the service can be slow at times.

My favorite restaurant in bay ridge. Absolute gem. Food is always fresh, beautiful and tastes delicious. The chef is incredible and you can tell he really cares about what he puts out.

We wanted something healthy today. They've got a wide farm to table menu with excellent prices. The chef gladly accommodated dairy free meals for lunch today Started with the cranberry lemonade with mint. What a fantastic concoction! Actual cranberries and wedges of fruit in there with no or little added sugar. Nice and tart. Then we had the beet hummus. Had horseradish on top. Every bite was a piece of heaven. The pita tasted freshly baked and I greedily wanted more Next, the Norwegian fish cake on potato salad. Think deconstructed... Loved every bite! Heirloom carrots were stunning and we really enjoyed the tomato salsa it was in. Service was excellent. Only us and another couple were dining. They played calming jazz acoustic music. Very cute and charming ambiance. Allow for a lot of dining time. The chef spends a lot of time on the dishes. Think slow food movement. Can't wait to come back!

Wow! Farm fresh, great service, creative dishes and most importantly DELICIOUS! We tried the ramps & potato soup, pumpkin mac, & French toast. We all enjoyed our dishes. We ended our meal with the carrot cake-- best thing we had! It is sweet, soft, and moist. I will definitely be back with others and to try the breakfast & dinner.

one of the best meals i've had in brooklyn. my only complaint is i wish the portions were a little bigger, like the appetizer broccoli was one big piece and a few smaller ones. we left still hungry and i don't have a big appetite really. another example, i didn't get a picture of the dessert but slices of pie/cake were so small i just had all this leftover ice cream and sorbet. ambiance is cute at night, good date spot. definitely try the peach turnover and the cheddar ice cream.

Home is where the heart is and there is nothing quite like a home cooked meal. I have to say most Bay Ridgians enjoy dining local and in our neighborhood. I love to support neighborhood gems because majority of restaurant owners here, love their clients, establish loyalty through cooking delicious food and provide consistent great customer service. I was in the mood for a " comfort food"breakfast, you know, eggs, avocado, mozzarella, tomato, deliciousness and I found it on the menu simply named "Breakfast Sandwich". Which consists of voila: Mozzarella, avocado, tomato jam, arugula, crispy bacon, dijonaise, sunny side up egg between multigrain toasts. I ordered this sans the bacon ( requested turkey bacon which they do not have). What arrived in my plate was this decadent open faced egg sandwich that looked delectable.. and was!! Let's first talk about the wheat toast: I tasted it naked and it simply melted in my mouth. The ingredients worked well together, perfect synchronicity. I used one half of the toast to sop up any fallen ingredients. Highly recommend! For a drink, I wanted something a bit different, thus, ordered the Mango Mint Peach tea, fruity with a hint of mint. Loved it and went well with the Sammy! There are lovely options besides breakfast sandwiches like quinoa, oatmeal, granola, pancakes, French toast.. breakfast is served all day and lunch is served @noon. I arrived before 12 and was told I can order breakfast or lunch. It has a cozy, intimate vibe which I love.. one where you can dine solo, or do work or read or just enjoy the fabulous food. I will make "The Common" my home away from home. Additionally, there are cooking classes in their Park Slope location; the courses look great: Italian feast, Moroccan cooking, Wine Pairing and many more. Check out their website for more info. More to come from me.. The Common is located on 9406 3rd Avenue

It took about 10-15 minutes for us to get seated and the service was so friendly. There was so many delicious dishes and I decided to go with the lebanese skillet breakfast and a cappuccino. My friend got the pulled pork bowl and we decided to get the pancake to share. The dishes came out pretty quickly and at the same time. It was so hearty and filling and wasn't heavy at all. The pancake also had a great taste and crunch from the skillet. It wasn't sweet at all so it was easier to eat. The portions are perfect! The staff and ambiance are so lovely and I'm looking forward to trying the other dishes.

From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless -- warm, incredibly attentive, and perfectly paced. The refreshments were so great for a celebration. The Cocktails: Expertly crafted and sophisticated. It was refreshing to have drinks that were perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. The coffee was served alongside dessert, it was rich and the perfect finishing touch to a wonderful meal. While the Filet Mignon was a popular and well loved choice among our group, and the Meatballs were universally raved about for being truly excellent, the real showstopper for me was the Chicken Parmesan. I don't typically order steak, so I was delighted by this choice. The cutlet was impressively sized yet elegantly thin, showcasing the high quality of the chicken. It was served with a side of creamy mashed potatoes, which was such a comforting and delicious pairing. It did remind me of visiting Germany believe it or not like a schnitzel style cutlet but still very italian if that makes any sense. If you visit, you simply cannot miss the fried eggplant appetizer with burrata. It is divine!
