Came here with my father for an early lunch because the place looked cool! I ordered the breakfast burrito and when it came out there was only egg and cheese in there. When I brought it to the waitresses attention she said it comes with either bacon or sausage and I was like, okay you didn't ask so I wasn't aware. To which she responded that it was on the menu and proceeded to bring over the menu for me to read as if I couldn't understand her. I was really tired that morning so I guess that parts on me for just reading what I want and ordering it, but as someone who's work in the service industry you also clarify what the customer would like. I never said I wanted ONLY eggs. Just the way she handled it was really rude when I didn't even make a fuss I was just confused why there was nothing in my burrito weird energy here if you're not a white townie. Finally got a chance to patron one of the many restaurants in Bay Ridge that I have wanted to try and the Wicked Monk did not disappoint. Came in as a party of two on a rainy Sunday for their brunch menu and was quickly seated and served. Waiters/waitresses were very attentive and quick to give us menus, waters, take our orders, and clear our empty plates when we finished the app/food. Definitely has a pub/sports bar vibe with bar seating and multiple screens broadcasting pretty much all the sunday NFL games. But they also had ample seating for larger parties and families and it definitely seems like a place that locals visit often. Went here today for an early dinner and it did not disappoint. We loved the cool decor which used to be a church. Very gothic and super comfortable. Staff and service were absolutely delightful. We enjoyed Cobb salad, the infamous chicken pot pie and Keylime pie. We certainly had a lot of pie today. Lol. I couldn't get enough of that chicken pot pie and kept burning my tongue which was my own fault for being impatient. Really great vibe with awesome 80s and 90s music playing. The vibe is super fun, church interior and church benches are a great touch! The drinks were great and the chill beer glasses a great touch! It was between here a couple of places and the food did it justice! I got a spinach goat cheese salad with fresh grilled chicken, so yum! And the burger with the best tasting fries and onion rings! Yes, this is a bar and has parties at night but let's talk about the brunch I had. Philly cheesesteak mac and cheese entree could feed 4 people, probably. The short rib they used was perfection. My hubs got the chicken pot pie, which was also quite filling and tasted so good. They also had a cold brew version of Irish coffee which I so appreciated. If you're a fan of IPA they have good choices, especially given that Bay Ridge generally doesn't have many options. I love coming here and look forward to trying more menu items! read more

Went with a few coworkers on a Friday night and it's a great place to go after a work week. It was pretty loud and difficult to hear my coworkers but what is to expect on a Friday night. The servers are very helpful. They clear your plates pretty quickly. Maybe since it was a Friday, we had to flag our server a couple times to get her attention. The food was ok. The tacos and wings were delicious. I got a the monk burger and it was good but very small compared to other bar burgers I've gotten. This is a classic bay ridge staple! They put multiple sports games on at once, if that's what you're looking for. Definitely kept my whole group happy. The food is amazing - can't speak any more highly of the appetizers. I will say, we got the Philly cheesesteak Mac and cheese which was good but contained ENTIRELY too many mushrooms, taking away from the Philly cheesesteak flavor. It had a great crunch from the breadcrumbs, though. The decor is beautiful inside and makes you feel like you're in a medieval castle or fancy church. But the vibes are casual and cool. We started with the honey sriracha wings and the sauce was delicious but I felt like the actual wings were not seasoned underneath. My friends got dry rub wings with the honey sriracha sauce on the side and I think that is the way to go! I got the bacon cheeseburger with fries and the burger was cooked perfectly. The place is like an old church with a pulpit, statue of a monk, stained Glass and a large bar. They served us salad, calamari and Shrimp for appetizers, ziti pasta, short ribs and chicken corden blue. They provide soda, water and coffee. The bar offers a page full of different bears from around the world. The short ribs are exceptionally tender. Fried Calamari and shrimps are freshly cooked. Everyone love the ziti pasta. Parking is pretty easy in that area as there aren't a lot of other restaurants nearby. The inside of the restaurant looks very inviting and we intend to return soon to eat there.
