    Zucchini sticks w/horseradish sauce (?l) & buffalo wings w/bluecheese

This is one of the neighborhood's institutions! Meaning, it's been here since forever! They allegedly don't have a happy hour - until January. I never realized how HUGE this place is! You should definitely come for the decor! They decorate for almost all the holidays! Christmas, I think is the best time - my picture doesn't do it justice! Had the zucchini sticks (which is kind alike mozzarella sticks but made w/zucchini) w/this white sauce that was pretty good. Oh and we also had buffalo wings w/extra blue cheese. The drinks, were ok: Martini, White Chocolate Martini (if I remember correctly), and a Malibu and pineapple. The first two drinks were severely over poured that it SPILLED

Came in on a lightly rainy day. My friends and I grabbed a table near the bar and ordered beers and some appetizers. The chili over fries was so good! But what's won be over is the effort in decor. Christmas is all over the walls and ceiling of this place. There's a train that runs above around the bar! And the dining room is even more decked out! I can't wait to go back for a sit down meal. Anyway, the staff was so nice, behind and outside the bar. I was gawking at the dining room and one person was like "you can go inside and look around if you want!" and I felt so shy cuz people were eating I'll be back very soon!

I love this place for the holiday decorations and how festive they are but especially all the train shows going around the restaurant. Every thing here is delicious, the prices are unbeatable. Their daily specials are epic. I ordered the strip steak here twice because you just can't beat it at $27! The Mac n cheese and chili wings are also delicious. The expresso martini is yummy. The menu is pretty old fashion and I wouldn't be surprised if this place has been around for decades. The staff is great and they'll let you take pics in front of the decorations. My steak each time was perfect temp, fresh, and eats like butter. Make reservations for dinner. Even on a Monday night this place is over an hour wait and CROWDED!

Fun festive restaurant! We really enjoyed the little decorations. Everywhere you looked, there were new surprises with the decor. As expected, it was packed for a weekend even though it was early for dinner, so we had to wait a while for a seat. Street parking was tricky and we ended up having to park at the garage. The chocolate martini was delicious. We loved the mussels as well. Worth stopping by especially if you are planning to see the Dyker Heights lights

Awesome vibes, very cool mix of people of all ages, cultures & walks of life. Friendly & hardworking staff. Really cool interior. I wish they had better music. The food is reasonably priced, but not great. I also wish they had a German pils. The vibes & the cold beer & really dope interior & crowd good bartender trump all of that, tho. Vibes are really 90% - of everything in life !

Party of 6 after a block of halloween festivities on 5th ave. was seated pretty quickly . They brought us a bread basket and one of the breads had walnuts and cranberry omg delicious . 3 of us got burgers they did mess up on one of them with the cheese but not a big deal. They had a kids meal which is great when you have kids . My husband raves about the mashed potatoes. Beautiful decor. Nice family friendly place.

Local neighborhood hang it seems. Went to see the famous holiday house and stopped by skintight with some teenagers. The teenagers felt overwhelmed because it is a pub..but once we were seated in the back it was very family oriented. We ordered apps and a steak dinner..drank Shirley temples and hard drinks for the adults. The drinks were priced well and really good.our food was regular pub fare. Service was friendly and efficient. It was great seeing the resturant decorated in valentine decor. Cute for a casual date

Skinflints has a fun and festive scheme of decor, complete with blinky lights and Christmas trains, to match the famously decked out homes nearby in Dyker Heights. As such, the establishment has a neighborhood bar atmosphere but also attracts tourists from at least as far as Alabama, from a conversation I overheard between a drawling table and their server. Service was rather quick and methodical, and my hot drink and steak au poivre were well received. My boyfriend liked his ribeye also, so it was a pleasant night out for us, at his recommendation, I might add (he had been enchanted by the bar during a per-chance visit while observing the lights with friends from out of town a week prior).

Been craving a burger and Skinflints ribs and they absolutely delivered. The bacon cheeseburger was stacked high and packed with flavor--crispy bacon, melted cheese, and a perfectly seasoned patty that was juicy in every bite. The fries were spot-on too: golden, crisp, and the kind you keep snacking on even when you're full. Then came the ribs... fall-off-the-bone tender with a rich, smoky glaze that hit every note just right. Paired with creamy mashed potatoes, it was the kind of plate that makes you pause mid-bite just to appreciate it. The appetizers set the tone for an amazing meal. The mozzarella sticks were everything you want them to be--crispy on the outside with that perfect cheese pull on the inside. They came out hot and delicious. The coconut shrimp was just as impressive. Light, crunchy, and coated in just the right amount of sweet coconut, had a great mix of flavor. The dipping sauce brought it all together. Overall, an incredible meal--hearty, satisfying, and worth every bite. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Service was amazing and the place looked like a bar you'd find at the North Pole.

Good local food and drinks! My friends and I stopped by here on a random stop by in bay ridge based on their cute love decor on the outside. It was a bustling Friday and we had a short wait for our table so we got some drinks and sat at a bar table. The decor in here is phenomenal, I mean they must spend all their time and efforts to making this place an experience. We got seated at our table and I was constantly amazed at the trains and other decorations for bday. I definitely got some cute pics. The food was really good. I had the steak with loaded potato and veggies. The veggies were cooked to perfection and the steak and mushrooms as well. This is definitely a good date night, family dinner or friends hangout spot.

Cool Christmas decorations! They did a great job decorating the bar! The ribs were very tasty! Had the burger which was good. When ordering the burger it is a build your own type burger. Have to tell them everything you want on the burger.

Provolone Burger - A burger with a fried egg on top, served alongside a portion of French fries, tomato slices, and lettuce on a white plate. The burger bun appears toasted, and the egg is cooked sunny-side up. The fries are golden and crispy, and the tomato and lettuce add fresh elements to the plate. The setting includes a green table and a clear glass nearby.

It is more like a 3.5 than a four star review. Unfortunately due to the fact I cannot give half stars, this is what I have to work with. The burger is of a good size, but it is a little dry and needs more than just lettuce and tomato to bring out the flavor. The cheese draping is nice, and the fries are fresh and taste good, but they do not quite make up for the lack of seasoning this burger needs. I do like the English muffin as a bun. That works incredibly well. I would also recommend adding a fried egg as a topping. That with the English muffin and any burger would make this a burger I would get almost every weekend. The prices are fair too, considering if I were in Manhattan that this is easily a $20 burger. For lunch, it is passable.

Home is where the heart is and there is nothing quite like a home cooked meal. I have to say most Bay Ridgians enjoy dining local and in our neighborhood. I love to support neighborhood gems because majority of restaurant owners here, love their clients, establish loyalty through cooking delicious food and provide consistent great customer service. I was in the mood for a " comfort food"breakfast, you know, eggs, avocado, mozzarella, tomato, deliciousness and I found it on the menu simply named "Breakfast Sandwich". Which consists of voila: Mozzarella, avocado, tomato jam, arugula, crispy bacon, dijonaise, sunny side up egg between multigrain toasts. I ordered this sans the bacon ( requested turkey bacon which they do not have). What arrived in my plate was this decadent open faced egg sandwich that looked delectable.. and was!! Let's first talk about the wheat toast: I tasted it naked and it simply melted in my mouth. The ingredients worked well together, perfect synchronicity. I used one half of the toast to sop up any fallen ingredients. Highly recommend! For a drink, I wanted something a bit different, thus, ordered the Mango Mint Peach tea, fruity with a hint of mint. Loved it and went well with the Sammy! There are lovely options besides breakfast sandwiches like quinoa, oatmeal, granola, pancakes, French toast.. breakfast is served all day and lunch is served @noon. I arrived before 12 and was told I can order breakfast or lunch. It has a cozy, intimate vibe which I love.. one where you can dine solo, or do work or read or just enjoy the fabulous food. I will make "The Common" my home away from home. Additionally, there are cooking classes in their Park Slope location; the courses look great: Italian feast, Moroccan cooking, Wine Pairing and many more. Check out their website for more info. More to come from me.. The Common is located on 9406 3rd Avenue

From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless -- warm, incredibly attentive, and perfectly paced. The refreshments were so great for a celebration. The Cocktails: Expertly crafted and sophisticated. It was refreshing to have drinks that were perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. The coffee was served alongside dessert, it was rich and the perfect finishing touch to a wonderful meal. While the Filet Mignon was a popular and well loved choice among our group, and the Meatballs were universally raved about for being truly excellent, the real showstopper for me was the Chicken Parmesan. I don't typically order steak, so I was delighted by this choice. The cutlet was impressively sized yet elegantly thin, showcasing the high quality of the chicken. It was served with a side of creamy mashed potatoes, which was such a comforting and delicious pairing. It did remind me of visiting Germany believe it or not like a schnitzel style cutlet but still very italian if that makes any sense. If you visit, you simply cannot miss the fried eggplant appetizer with burrata. It is divine! Fort Hamilton Diner is one of the greatest unsolved mysteries of Brooklyn. Every time we walk in,…read morethe place is practically empty, as if the entire neighborhood collectively decided to ignore the best food within a five‑mile radius. I don't know if people think it's too affordable, or if they're intimidated by the concept of flavor, but the fact that this diner isn't packed feels like a social experiment no one told us we were part of. The Food I ordered the focaccia with herb chicken and mozzarella, minus the bacon, plus a mountain of fries and a bowl of chicken soup that could fix childhood trauma. The focaccia was warm and pillowy, but the chicken... the chicken was so juicy and flavorful that I'm convinced they either brine it, braise it, or whisper ancient culinary incantations over it. Whatever the method, it works. And the mozzarella? They didn't sprinkle it. They didn't "add a touch." They deployed it. Easily a third to half a pound of molten dairy glory blanketing the entire sandwich like it was being tucked in for a long winter's nap. The chicken soup was unmistakably homemade -- that collagen-rich broth that clings to your lips like it's trying to sign a lease. Boxed broth could never. Bouillon cubes could never. This was soup with depth, soul, and possibly a moral compass. Meanwhile, the man ordered the gyro platter with curly fries and immediately ascended into a state of bliss normally reserved for people who discover unexpected tax refunds. He inhaled everything except a few curly fries, and considering the portions could feed a family of three, that's both impressive and mildly concerning. The Service One man -- one -- ran the entire front of the house. He greeted people, poured drinks, handled takeout orders, delivered plates, closed checks, and probably mediated international conflicts in the back when no one was looking. The man deserves a raise, a trophy, and possibly a parade. The Value Our total was about $46 for two overflowing plates, a bowl of soup, a soda, and a hot tea. In 2026, that's basically a public service. I've paid more for sandwiches that tasted like printer paper. Final Thoughts Fort Hamilton Diner is a hidden gem, a neighborhood treasure, and frankly, a place that deserves far more foot traffic than it gets. Consistent, delicious, affordable, and run by people who actually care -- it's the kind of diner you want to gatekeep but also want to scream about from the rooftops.

Each dish comes with a house salad, which consists of red cabbage, sauerkraut, cole slaw, beets, shredded carrots, and lettuce. The salad had nice flavors and tasted fresh! I really enjoyed the chicken klopsiki, which is a chicken meatball. The meatball was moist, and the sauce had a nice flavor, like chicken soup. The only downside was that the mashed potatoes had no flavor and tasted like powdered mashed potatoes. I liked the flavor of the Hungarian pancakes, but the ratio of pancake to filling was heavily skewed toward the pancake, which was just fried potato with minimal flavor. Therefore, I would pass on the pancakes and just get the goulash if I decided to return. Service was okay. When I asked the server for recommendations, she wasn't enthusiastic, but I was asking generally, and I could have been more specific.
