My friends and I celebrated my birthday here. I have never had brunch here before so I was so excited to try it. Everything was a delight- the atmosphere, the hospitality and the food. It felt like we're were having a meal in someone's home. The chef came out and chatted me up and got my name. He discreetly placed it into the happy birthday song, stuck a sparkler in my waffles and came out loudly singing happy birthday. He was so funny! It was such a fun time had by all! And yes the food was fun, innovative, different and delicious!
Brunch was very good here! Loved the wrap I got (has a peanut sauce with the chicken). The French toast was also very decadent and perfect for sharing
I went to HoM Bay Ridge in Brooklyn on March 20 with a few family members to celebrate Neil's birthday. He specifically wanted to see owner Sal who has always been hospitable to us when we ate there. Well, the food specials did not disappoint. Delicious burgers, salads and beverages. Owner Sal and exemplary chef Damyien were as wonderful and inviting as could be. Besides a great food menu, HoM has a boutique with fine clothing, jewelry and lavish toiletries. I give HoM 5 stars.
Been in Bay Ridge for 2 years & this spot has been one of my go-to's for brunch. Cute little storefront shop, good table service & outdoor seating in the back; good food, and the staff/owners are very kind, welcoming and accommodating & will give you a nice conversation. It's a nice little shop that has a cafe in the back. They have tables for seating in their backyard as well. They have some items for sale in the shop: candles, scents, notebooks etc. Street parking only. But it shouldn't be hard to find parking in that area. They only accept Venmo or cash. Service was ok. It was a little slow on that day. We waited like 30min after placing our order before food was brought up. They served a complementary corn bread. It's pretty good. 8/10. Ham and jam panini: 7/10. The jam taste is little too overpowering. But I adored the heart shape panino. 1 extra point for the effort Pina colada waffle: 5/10. A little too sweet. The waffle was a little saggy. The bacon was a little too salty. I didn't taste any pina colada flavor. Watermelon mimosa: 6/10. no watermelon flavor. The champagne is not bad tho The blueberry lemonade margarita: 8/10. Smooth and good flavor.
When you enter it's a cute boutique collection of locally made treats and gifts. Towards the back is a seated area, maybe 20 people at most. The music was joyful and relaxing. The people were welcoming. I made reservations for a Sunday brunch with friends. Kitchen closes at 3:30pm so be sure to get there on time! The food was portioned perfectly - no one felt stuffed or hungry, just satisfied. Their sangria has been buzzing in my ear from others so I had to try it. Got a carafe of pomegranate sangria and it did not disappoint. My gingerbread French toast was so good with sausage. I had a bite of the Benedict bowl and I see why it's a popular dish. And the biscuit was SO fluffy. Friend had the special egg nog waffles and we're pretty sure egg nog was also in the whipped cream?! HoM, pls verify! With a monthly seasonal menu, how can I not make plans to come back exactly 4 weeks from now? And the shop is filled with something for everyone, even furry friends, so I'd make this my one stop shop for presents!
Food: mediocre, my French toast was on the burnt side. Not worth the price. Although there was complimentary bread with jam. The jam was good Service was decent. Ambiance: cozy
A really cute place where the front half of the store is a shop that has products that include candles, accessories and other things. The back half is a cute brunch place with the kitchen. They also have outdooring seating further in the back. FYI: Cash or Venmo Only! When seated they will provide you water and a basket of complimentary everything bagel with butter and slices of loaf cake. That's a plus! The staff were really friendly and kept checking up on us. The chef even came by to ask if the food was good! We ordered the Cinnamon Churro Waffles on the 'Our Homade Brunch Specials' Menu ($19.95), which was topped with whipped cream, chopped pineapples and dulce de leche sauce. Also served with your choice of bacon, ham, or sausage (whis is what we got). Also ordered the Mushroom & Swiss Burger on the 'Our Homade Brunch' menu ($18.95) that came with a side salad. The burger was huge so it was great for sharing and we asked for medium well, and it was perfect! Had a wonderful experience and would definitely come back!
This is a great brunch date spot or a spot to bring friends. It's so unique and cozy and the food is really delicious. You can tell everything is homemade. The restaurant is also a boutique store that sells necklaces, teas and other knickknacks. The employees Sal and Dominique were very polite and great hosts. Check this place out if you want healthy food and a unique and interesting experience.
I haven't been here in 3 years although it remains as one of the top places to have brunch in Bay Ridge. Damien the chef is always welcoming his guests and continues to come up with fresh ideas in the dishes he offers. It's good to see he loves what he does. If you've never been here it's interesting as HOM is a restaurant and an eclectic gift shop rolled into one. The place is always clean, cozy, has a very attentive staff and most of all the food is extremely fresh. Everything is cooked from scratch. They offer about a dozen regular brunch choices, 3 home made specials, a good selection of teas, coffees, wines, marguerites, and beer. We had the great pumpkin pancakes which were served with whipped cream, and granola. We also had the grilled chicken wafflewhich that is made with spicy chicken, mixed greens, tomato, zesty siracha, a medley of fresh fruit and turkey bacon . Every was AWESOME and the portions are shareable. Very enjoyable experience and relaxing. I would highly recommend HOM.

We visit this place at least once a month the menu changes and it's always delicious and fresh. We decided to booked HOM for our baby shower, and I must say, the food surpassed all expectations. The quality was exceptional, and the staff's attentiveness made the experience truly outstanding. Every detail was taken care of, ensuring a memorable celebration.
Wow! Had a delicious brunch here with my fiancé and our family. You would never know this place has a restaurant in the back, and walking by it looks like a store that sells different things. Everything is made to order and their menu changes monthly. I had the churro French toast. It was very good and tasted just like a churro you'd get at a fair or a carnival. It came with a side of breakfast meat. I chose bacon and it was cooked to perfection. Other things that were ordered included banana pudding pancakes and the burger. Everything was enjoyed by all! To drink I had the Asian Mary, which was a Bloody Mary but with sake. Shortly after it came out our waitress came back stating she forgot to put the sake in it. Talk about being honest! Passing by this quaint store, I never assumed there was a restaurant inside. This place is just so beautiful, from the store to the indoor dining and outdoor dining area out back. It felt so cozy and rustic. Such friendly customer service too! I've never had bagels in a complimentary bread basket before. I love that there were different flavors of bagels and the orange marmalade they came with. Their Ginger Peach Tea smelled like gummy peach rings. It was so fragrant and smooth. I really enjoyed their Boom Bang Cauliflower Tacos and Turkey Reuben Panino. The tacos were especially flavorful and delicious. This lovely establishment makes you feel like you are right at "home." The atmosphere and owners do the title of this fantastic establishment justice. You feel the love in this cozy restaurant/boutique in Bay Ridge. It truly is a gem. I had the lovely opportunity to see Damien, one of the owners in action. He and his team greeted everyone who entered with warmth and kindness. We also had the fortunate opportunity to see the magnetic, funny and vivacious Ginger Snap perform. What a fun Saturday we had. The food is lovely, the service is excellent. Bravo to your team. I look forward to coming again and again. BEST OF THE BEST ! With no expectations, we walked through the clothing and antique store to get to the restaurant in the back. I felt like I was having brunch in a friend's house with her mom cooking for us in the back. So much attention from the staff. The food is so delicious and made with love. The bread is warm, the coffee freshly made. The cranberry pancakes and the Santa Fe benedicts hmmm... can't wait too go back to try more on the menu. Best brunch I had in years! And a brunch a lot ! read more

HoM is a little shop of big wonders! The space is split 50/50 between a store showcasing goods from local businesses and a dining area. I love how the instant vibe you get is one of a community spot where locals from the neighborhood gather. It was a hot day so we stayed in the dark indoor seating area. I ordered a pina colada french toast platter with ham, while my boyfriend got the tiramisu pancakes with bacon. I was surprised to see that they brought us a little basket with bagels and muffin slices to start off. Such a cute gesture and they were all delicious!! The jam slathered muffins set the bar high for the rest of the meal. As always, I found myself eyeing my boyfriend's food until he offered me some. The pancakes were so buttery, soft, and fluffy! Absolute perfection. The tiramisu flavor was very strong, but there was a little sour aftertaste that lingered. I liked my french toast as well, and only managed to finish half of the three slices. I was a little disappointed to see that the pina colada element comes from the pineapple topping. I would have liked a flavored whipped cream or a creamy sauce to soak the bread and didn't feel like I had enough syrup. I also wasn't a fan of the ham-- it was just packaged ham from the supermarket. I was expecting thick cut ham, and felt like it would have complimented the meal better. For $14 per plate, you can get yourself a very generous and filling brunch dish. I loved how creative the dishes were and they were very tasty. Great spot to catch up over some delicious brunch food! read more

This was my second time coming to this establishment for brunch. They change their menu each month and everything always sounds delicious. I'll definitely be going again in April. Food: I got the shepherds pie empanadas that came with a gravy and small side salad which was tasty. They also give you a complimentary small basket of baked goods with a butter jam mixture. Price: their brunch menu is $16.95 per person not including drinks. I think the portions could have been a bit bigger for the price. This place is also cash or venmo only. Tip must be cash. Service: waitress was attentive. There was a bit of a wait for the food but the place was packed. Ambience: it's very cozy. In the winter they have blankets you can throw over you. The front is a small boutique shop which is nice to have a look around while you are waiting for your table. read more

I lived in Bay Ridge for three years around the corner from HoM and never went to HoM. It wasn't until I moved that I decided to finally try it. I missed this great little restaurant for years! The menu changes monthly I wish I had the time to come more often than I have so I can try everything. I been to brunch in both January and March. The food is absolutely incredible! Seriously I still think about the sausage gravy. For the drinks my go to is the pommosa which is a mimosa but pomegranate juice not orange. I usually get seated right away but I always go during the week to make sure I'm not waiting I could only imagine how packed it is on the weekends. The food does take time to make since everything is freshly made but its definitely worth the wait. While waiting you could shop around the front of the restaurant for the locally made jams and tees, or any other cute decor you might enjoy. read more

Now that I've been to brunch at HoM twice, I feel as though I can safely Yelp about the establishment and their employees. The first time was on a regular weekday with not a whole lot of people traffic based on the time that we went and I recall having a "Green Eggs and Ham" dish which was absolutely amazing. Our table ordered a caraff of Watermelon sangria which was hitting the spot on the unusually hot day that it was at the time. Service was quick and since my friend was treating it was all the more enjoyable LOL. Second time, also a pleasant experience and the destination after a day of errands and light shopping with a friend. She had not been there in years and since it was my turn in the Dutch treat aspect, I was grabbing the bill. She ordered the empanadas while I didn't feel like anything more than eggs so I again chose the "GEAH" that was referenced above. Apparently, this dish is so popular that it is left on the menu even though they change this every month. It was as good as I remembered. The downside in one sense was that it was quite crowded but we exchanged pleasantries with a friendly table next to us and the time slipped by until our respective orders came out. The kitchen space is small and can only prepare so much so quickly. When you have three tables of six or more people that is bound to happen but with a free WiFi signal and friendly banter I was fine with it. We enjoyed a caraff of white wine sangria and while I felt that particular item was a tad pricey, I am unfamiliar with that in general so it might have been standard in the industry at this time. It tasted wonderful. The brunch while nicely priced doesn't include a beverage or coffee or dessert so perhaps they should look into a slightly higher pricing to add this other stuff. Brunch is good business and a bit more keeps people coming back IMHO. Another important aspect of HoM is that they are a retail store with all sorts of unique candles, jewelry, oils and the like. It's too hard to define in a single sentence but I would suggest that you peruse post your meal and see if there is anything that you could use for yourself or a friend as a present. The holiday are now officially around the corner after all. I will def be returning to HoM again in the near future. They are surely a welcoming space. read more
I was actually very disappointed here. My wife has mentioned this place to me since we moved to bay ridge 2 years ago, raved about it. Anytime I saw the menu, I could easily say this just wasn't for me, and it was true. I had tried the mushroom burger, cool mushroom flavor, cool bread, but it did not feel like it was complete. It is a huge mistake to not serve french fries with any burger, ever. The salad was good, but its not fries. The sangria I had was also not very adult tasting, it was very much like juice. Now the positives. The front of the establishment does look like an old fashioned store, reminds me of Cracker Barrell. Here is a unique location to purchase more natural and hand crafted items you wouldn't find elsewhere. Also, whoever is baking, I salute you. The baked goods and service are what saved the day for me. I don't really do bread, I don't do much with dessert, but I could not stop with some of the baked goods they provided, and supposedly its a surprise every time! I may return for the store portion and maybe some natural soaps, but other than that I was not very impressed. Thank you. read more
***Vegan and Non Vegan Review You would never guess it's a restaurant. When you pass by or first walk in, it looks like a store that sells home decor and things. It's such a cute place. The staff is so cute and funny. You'll enjoy their humor and their characters. Forget the food I would come back for them lol. I ordered the Kama sutra salad and it was delicious. My friend loved the Cupid cakes. Definitely would come back, but would love it if they had more vegan options. read more
