Passing by this quaint store, I never assumed there was a restaurant inside. This place is just so beautiful, from the store to the indoor dining and outdoor dining area out back. It felt so cozy and rustic. Such friendly customer service too! I've never had bagels in a complimentary bread basket before. I love that there were different flavors of bagels and the orange marmalade they came with. Their Ginger Peach Tea smelled like gummy peach rings. It was so fragrant and smooth. I really enjoyed their Boom Bang Cauliflower Tacos and Turkey Reuben Panino. The tacos were especially flavorful and delicious. My friends and I celebrated my birthday here. I have never had brunch here before so I was so excited to try it. Everything was a delight- the atmosphere, the hospitality and the food. They have some items for sale in the shop: candles, scents, notebooks etc. Street parking only. But it shouldn't be hard to find parking in that area. They only accept Venmo or cash. Service was ok. When you enter it's a cute boutique collection of locally made treats and gifts. Towards the back is a seated area, maybe 20 people at most. The music was joyful and relaxing. The people were welcoming. I made reservations for a Sunday brunch with friends. Kitchen closes at 3:30pm so be sure to get there on time! The food was portioned perfectly - no one felt stuffed or hungry, just satisfied. Their sangria has been buzzing in my ear from others so I had to try it. A really cute place where the front half of the store is a shop that has products that include candles, accessories and other things. The back half is a cute brunch place with the kitchen. They also have outdooring seating further in the back. FYI: Cash or Venmo Only! When seated they will provide you water and a basket of complimentary everything bagel with butter and slices of loaf cake. That's a plus! The staff were really friendly and kept checking up on us. The chef even came by to ask if the food was good! We ordered the Cinnamon Churro Waffles on the 'Our Homade Brunch Specials' Menu ($19.95), which was topped with whipped cream, chopped pineapples and dulce de leche sauce. The place is always clean, cozy, has a very attentive staff and most of all the food is extremely fresh. Everything is cooked from scratch. They offer about a dozen regular brunch choices, 3 home made specials, a good selection of teas, coffees, wines, marguerites, and beer. We had the great pumpkin pancakes which were served with whipped cream, and granola. We also had the grilled chicken wafflewhich that is made with spicy chicken, mixed greens, tomato, zesty siracha, a medley of fresh fruit and turkey bacon . They also have a delicious muffin/bread basket - and you get that when you order takeout, too !!!! - with orange marmalade and perfectly room temp butter. The store offers an eclectic mix of carefully curated candles, jewelry, etc. The proprietor who works at the front cashier is wonderful! Friendly, funny, warm and welcoming. HoM is a little shop of big wonders! The space is split 50/50 between a store showcasing goods from local businesses and a dining area. I love how the instant vibe you get is one of a community spot where locals from the neighborhood gather. It was a hot day so we stayed in the dark indoor seating area. I ordered a pina colada french toast platter with ham, while my boyfriend got the tiramisu pancakes with bacon. I was surprised to see that they brought us a little basket with bagels and muffin slices to start off. Such a cute gesture and they were all delicious!! The jam slathered muffins set the bar high for the rest of the meal. As always, I found myself eyeing my boyfriend's food until he offered me some. The pancakes were so buttery, soft, and fluffy! Absolute perfection. The tiramisu flavor was very strong, but there was a little sour aftertaste that lingered. I liked my french toast as well, and only managed to finish half of the three slices. I was a little disappointed to see that the pina colada element comes from the pineapple topping. I would have liked a flavored whipped cream or a creamy sauce to soak the bread and didn't feel like I had enough syrup. I also wasn't a fan of the ham-- it was just packaged ham from the supermarket. I was expecting thick cut ham, and felt like it would have complimented the meal better. For $14 per plate, you can get yourself a very generous and filling brunch dish. I loved how creative the dishes were and they were very tasty. Food: I got the shepherds pie empanadas that came with a gravy and small side salad which was tasty. They also give you a complimentary small basket of baked goods with a butter jam mixture. Price: their brunch menu is $16.95 per person not including drinks. I think the portions could have been a bit bigger for the price. This place is also cash or venmo only. Tip must be cash. The menu changes monthly I wish I had the time to come more often than I have so I can try everything. I been to brunch in both January and March. The food is absolutely incredible! Seriously I still think about the sausage gravy. For the drinks my go to is the pommosa which is a mimosa but pomegranate juice not orange. I usually get seated right away but I always go during the week to make sure I'm not waiting I could only imagine how packed it is on the weekends. The food does take time to make since everything is freshly made but its definitely worth the wait. Now that I've been to brunch at HoM twice, I feel as though I can safely Yelp about the establishment and their employees. The first time was on a regular weekday with not a whole lot of people traffic based on the time that we went and I recall having a "Green Eggs and Ham" dish which was absolutely amazing. Our table ordered a caraff of Watermelon sangria which was hitting the spot on the unusually hot day that it was at the time. Service was quick and since my friend was treating it was all the more enjoyable LOL. Second time, also a pleasant experience and the destination after a day of errands and light shopping with a friend. She had not been there in years and since it was my turn in the Dutch treat aspect, I was grabbing the bill. She ordered the empanadas while I didn't feel like anything more than eggs so I again chose the "GEAH" that was referenced above. Apparently, this dish is so popular that it is left on the menu even though they change this every month. It was as good as I remembered. The downside in one sense was that it was quite crowded but we exchanged pleasantries with a friendly table next to us and the time slipped by until our respective orders came out. The kitchen space is small and can only prepare so much so quickly. When you have three tables of six or more people that is bound to happen but with a free WiFi signal and friendly banter I was fine with it. We enjoyed a caraff of white wine sangria and while I felt that particular item was a tad pricey, I am unfamiliar with that in general so it might have been standard in the industry at this time. It tasted wonderful. The brunch while nicely priced doesn't include a beverage or coffee or dessert so perhaps they should look into a slightly higher pricing to add this other stuff. Brunch is good business and a bit more keeps people coming back IMHO. Another important aspect of HoM is that they are a retail store with all sorts of unique candles, jewelry, oils and the like. It's too hard to define in a single sentence but I would suggest that you peruse post your meal and see if there is anything that you could use for yourself or a friend as a present. The holiday are now officially around the corner after all. I will def be returning to HoM again in the near future. They are surely a welcoming space. read more

I was actually very disappointed here. My wife has mentioned this place to me since we moved to bay ridge 2 years ago, raved about it. Anytime I saw the menu, I could easily say this just wasn't for me, and it was true. I had tried the mushroom burger, cool mushroom flavor, cool bread, but it did not feel like it was complete. It is a huge mistake to not serve french fries with any burger, ever. The salad was good, but its not fries. The sangria I had was also not very adult tasting, it was very much like juice. Now the positives. The front of the establishment does look like an old fashioned store, reminds me of Cracker Barrell. Here is a unique location to purchase more natural and hand crafted items you wouldn't find elsewhere. Also, whoever is baking, I salute you. The baked goods and service are what saved the day for me. I don't really do bread, I don't do much with dessert, but I could not stop with some of the baked goods they provided, and supposedly its a surprise every time! Great service and boho atmosphere where restaurant is divided between a store, dine-in interior, and backyard. Food was the typical brunch items, not out of this world taste but this is still a charming neighborhood gem. One suggestion would be for waiters to not necessarily try to speak to customers in another language they're not fluent in -- we get the intent is to try to be more inclusive and inviting but it's a bit cringe-y.
