Was meeting a friend for some errands and a bit of lunch and while we usually head to the nearby Bridgeview Diner since that spot is a little closer to our respective homes, I was interested in a change of pace this time around. I figured let me find a different place to Yelp about and snag some more foodie photos that I like to share in things like this and of course on my regular social media platforms. The Offshore Diner has been here for several years and while I've gone to it before, I never managed to sit down and Yelp it up so today would be a good chance to do so. Since it was lunchtime and I was craving a burger, I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger Deluxe and my friend had a Grilled Cheese with onion rings. My order came with fries. I should say that we were seated quickly and as I cannot speak to knowing their own regular lunchtime crowd, we appeared to beat them into the place. Spatially speaking, there are four person booths to one side of the diner and a number of two seaters on the other side. There is a sizable counter for those that arrive solo and just wish to bury themselves in coffee, lunch or the newspaper if such a practice is still done now that everything is on ones mobile device. Our server was quick and the order came fast as well. The owner was kind enough to check in with us and my guess is that he does this often and especially with faces that he might not be used to. My burger was tasty and I didn't take home half of my food like I might usually do since I was on the hungry side. I even snagged a few of my friends onion rings. I didn't detect any kind of WiFi while I was there as it was more important to catch up with my friend about lifes daily happenings. There is a restroom which is single occupancy and it was nice and clean on my visit. Good Job Offshore Diner, I will be returning but I just cannot determine on when that will be. read more

Pros: Solid diner food. Great prices. Friendly Brooklyn service. I really like it here. More Pros: Breakfast especially the Challah French toast. Ambiance: Brooklyn diner. Not the fancy trendy kind. The "I have been serving the neighborhood forever," kind. read more

Coffee was constantly refilled. 50s music is playing while sitting in a classic diner setting. Everything was tasty! Will be back to try more breakfast/brunches read more

Old school no frills diner. The breakfast seems like the way to go. The muffins were homemade and hot. Omelettes also probably the way to go. It isn't a big place but I love spots like this. Hope it doesn't go away since diners are harder to come by these days. read more

As a restaurant, I would give Offshore a 3. As a diner, I gave it a higher score. it's a reliable source of sustenance. The service is friendly and quick. The food is solid and prices are reasonable. It's an easy go to spot when you can't decide on anything else and there are a few eaters to feed. I've been here a few times and there are plenty of local characters if you want to overhear some entertaining conversations. I recommend the Irish Breakfast. read more

Classic Brooklyn diner feel, burgers are great, onions rings etc.. even the RC pop. A great spot altogether

Based on a Grubhub order. Delivery was quick but my waffle was so soggy it was really bad! I ordered a waffle breakfast plate and they put a piece of deli ham in the tray then threw a waffle on top, and threw two pieces of bacon and two sausages in the plate. A very dry set of fried eggs was then placed on top of that. What ended up happening was the sweat from the meat and eggs made the waffle turn into a soft squishy mealy thing that wasn't even edible. I tasted it just to see if the batter was seasoned and I was sad to know it had flavor but was packaged so improperly that they ended up ruining the waffle itself. I guess this is something that would taste better at the location. "Challah" French toast was ok. Was cooked thoroughly and was sweet. Not overpowered with cinnamon so it was really tasty. Pieces were a bit small for challah French toast, imo. Coffee was good. I have an issue with what the driver told my kid when they opened the door to accept the delivery. "My boss said give more than $2 tip next time, it's far." I have two issues with this: 1. Tipping is optional. Full stop! It's optional. I always give a secondary tip in cash (when I have cash) or add a secondary tip once the order is complete. I personally have been a door-dasher and Instacart shopper so I know it helps to get tips... but they are by no means expected or requested!!! You get what you get and you move onto the next order. 2. The diner is literally a mile away. Walking distance! So the comment on distance is laughable! Wether the "boss" said it or the driver was just being an ass either way had they kept their mouth shut they would've gotten a bigger tip at the end of it! Overall grubhub refunded the waffle price ($17) and I may just go into the diner to try it in person... I'm not opposed to giving businesses second chances. They need to learn how to package their waffles for delivery and caution their drivers to keep their comments to themselves! read more

This is our go-to diner now. I love their service and their food is good. I prefer the smaller diner to the bigger ones since we get better and faster service. Even when we order to go, the food is still on poi lint and fresh. People are friendly and I love this little neighborhood gem! read more

I ordered egg cream vanilla flavor drink, greek burger, and a jumbo bagel with cream cheese. I initially wanted the Greek fries so I was gonna get the Souvlaki platter. But I also wanted to get something on the cheaper side so I ended up with the Greek burger, which came with the Greek fries. I got it medium well done and I think I should've gotten it medium or rare because the flavor of the patty was very charcoaled/ lacked juicy beef flavor (my fault). I LOVED the fries. It was topped with feta cheese and oregano. This meal came with a pickle and a small container of cole slaw. Overall, this was burger choice was good. It was my first time trying egg cream and I expected it to have the temperature, consistency, and flavor of egg nog. But it was the complete opposite. It was cold, super liquidy, and tasted like vanilla ice cream soda if it melted. BECAUSE it wasn't what the warm toasty drink that I expected on this cold winter day, I was turned off by it. Also, not sure who to blame but my drink spilled (not that I minded since I wasn't feeling it anyways). The jumbo cream cheese bagel wasn't very jumbo in my opinion. But since I got $$ off on my seamless order I didn't mind. Note the name they're registered with on Seamless/Grubhub is Bath Beach Diner. read more

EDIT: I went back to offshore this morning (9/1/2023) to try the Irish Breakfast. I'll get to that in a minute. I walked into the door and was greeted and seated by Pauline, who immediately sensed I needed coffee and got it for me. When she came back for it, I asked for and got the menu and ordered the Irish Breakfast. While she was placing the order, Fiona came over and double-checked to make sure Pauline knew how I wanted my eggs. While she went to the window, Billy came over to shmooze a bit and as he went off to greet some other people asked what kind of toast I ordered and ran to the window to double check. Throughout my breakfast, all three made every effort to make me feel like I was a long-lost family member...not just me, but every single person in the place. I now know what true Irish hospitality is and 'tis a glorious thing. OK, so for the uninitiated, an Irish Breakfast is two eggs, breakfast sausage, black pudding, white pudding, hash browns, grilled tomato slices, toast and Irish bacon. I don't know if they have chickens in the back, but I have never had such a fresh egg in my life. I mean the yolk wasn't spread out like your normal egg, this thing sat up proudly, saying "eat me!". The hash browns were fluffy, perfectly seasoned...just damn good hash browns. The sausage links were firm, mildly seasoned and may have been stuffed this morning. Despite being cut on the thick side, the generous portion of Irish bacon hidden under those farm-fresh eggs was, yes fresh, but exquisitely tender. The black and white pudding (which I'd never eaten before) were just plain delicious. The grilled tomato slices were a nice palate cleanser and cut through some of the heaviness of this delicious and stick-to-the-ribs breakfast. There literally was nothing that could have made this delicious breakfast more perfect. It was the best breakfast I have ever had, bar none, and being treated like family by Billy Pauline and Fiona only made it that much better. If you've never eaten at the Offshore Diner, do yourself a favor and go. Now! read more

Great food & reasonable prices. Definitely recommend! Order-in always accurate. Copious dinner portions.

I stopped in to get two hot chocolates, could not believe the care in making them. The counter person used steamed milk and never took there eyes off of what they were doing, the BEST hot chocolate I ever had! As I waited, I watched the food being delivered it looked great, very clean environment, and a nice busy vibe. Looking forward to head back this weekend, with my hot chocolate loving wife, see you there read more

We've ordered takeout from here countless times. Every time we order the food is always on point regardless of what we order. If we order a particular dish, it's always consistent in how it is cooked and prepared. This is one of the best diners in the area. However, recently, going on two straight occasions, our orders have been incomplete, missing things, like Tzatziki sauce for the Chicken Slovaki platter, pickles, forks, napkins, (extremely essential) and syrup for French toast (also extremely essential). Both times, we contacted the diner, and it upset me that they would think a simple apology resolves the issue. The first time, the brought the sauce, but we had to wait a little for it, and by the time it arrived, my wife's meal was no longer warm. The second time, they also offered to bring the syrup, but we weren't home to receive it, because we decided to have our breakfast at Owl's Head Park. They refused to deliver it to the park, where I would've easily met them on the corner of Colonial Rd and 68th. I really don't know how they could resolve this ongoing problem; they're obviously making it difficult to trust them to deliver with accuracy. I just think that if they're going to charge a delivery fee, they should get the order right and improve accuracy. read more

I've lived in bay ridge all my life and have passed by this place a gazillion times, but never tried it until recently. It's a very unassuming restaurant with plenty of locals dining in. I came for lunch but ordered something off the breakfast menu. I got the eggs Benedict which was cooked well and a side of home fries. The home fries were pleasantly well seasoned and delicious! The order also came with juice so I got the freshly squeezed and it was so good. I probably could have a drank a gallon of it. The waitresses were very friendly and accommodating. My friends also seemed to enjoy their food. Come here for a quick, simple and hearty meal! read more

Best diner in Brooklyn. Hands Down!! If you're in the mood for pancakes or burgers, you can't go wrong with the Offshore Diner.

Glad we found this sad old diner in Brooklyn. Food is diner, and good for what people expect. Service is good, but a little inattentive. Getting menu and getting bill requires a nudge. Even with the owner there. good place for any meal in pinch. read more

Their food can be very good but they don't listen to directions if you order online which is crucial if the person ordering has food allergies or other reasons they want something not included. Too many mistakes in delivery orders and by the time you call and they get set to send what was missing, your food gets cold. If you are going to sell a grilled chicken wrap, which is a healthy option, why force french fries with it? I requested a baked potato or a vegetable instead when I ordered it and was told that they would hold the french fries but charge me for the baked potato or vegetable. That was the last time I ate there. read more

We ate dinner there tonight with a friend who lives in Bay Ridge. She'd passed this place numerous times, but it took Manhattan friends to get her there. :) We each had one of the Early Bird specials and we were very satisfied. For $9.25 (plus tax & tip) we had a cup of soup (my husband & I chose the Yankee bean), an entrée (I had the vegetarian lasagna), coffee, and dessert (we all chose the rice pudding). The portions weren't very large, but it was all quite sufficient. My only criticism is that the coffee was very weak. Our server was very friendly & humorous, and we also had a very pleasant conversation with another server. There are several booths (we sat at one and it was comfortable), as well as several tables. The menu was *huge*. Note: Cash only. read more

I placed an order two days in advance through Grubhub for a Thanksgiving meal for my Grandmother and Uncle since we are social distancing. I got a confirmation message from them today and then two hours later they cancelled claiming they were closed. They also said they wouldn't take orders over the phone which I tried to do first. Very disappointed in this place for leaving my family with no Thanksgiving meals. read more

Best pancakes in bay ridge! Haven't had a problem with service either. Great local diner.

Their breakfast is excellent with great value. We love the Irish breakfast with eggs, Irish sausages and bacon with fried tomatoes and home fries. It's a very filling breakfast for a good price. My favorite thing I ordered is the freshly made Turkey dinner for $20. You get white Turkey breast meat from a real Turkey and not processed meat, choice of potatoes or sweet potato, soup, vegetables, stuffing, gravy, cranberries jam with 2 dinner rolls and butter. It's enough for 2 meals. I just love it! Where you going to get that for that price. The waitress staffs is super friendly and the endless hot coffee is good. read more

Ordered a chicken parmesan, side or broccoli and mashed potatoes on here from grub-hub. First thing is first, the chicken parm I received I would not feed to my dead dog(RIP Jade). The chicken parm was warm at best, warm in certain areas and cool in others, that should have taken me aback but I continued trying it. The chicken was to chewy, the breading came off to easy, disgusting. Spoke with a staff member and was told if I had an issue I could have contacted them first and they would have sent me another plate, I am sorry I do not understand that language when it comes to food. Your food should be cooked to the best of your ability every time, this is not a trial and error. The broccoli was mushy and to chewy and it literally looks like it was yanked off as I had a lot of stem with w few of mine. The most decent thing they had was the salad albeit freezing cold, that is what I ate the most of. Won't be ordering here again and got my money back. P.S.- I did not bother trying the mashed potatoes, I was done testing the waters with this establishment. read more
