McDonald Ave Diner has great food and great prices along with great service! Like they say it's a no brainer!

l love traditional diners and I love friendly restaurants. So it was a no brainer that I was going to love the McDonald Avenue Diner which is conveniently located near the F train Avenue I station across the street from ShoprRite supermarket! Previously I had stopped in for coffee but finally today I met longtime friend here for a late breakfast. I had two scrambled eggs, well done home fries, rye toast with butter and regular bacon (with coffee of course!) while my buddy had two fried eggs, well done home fries, rye toast with butter and turkey bacon (with coffee of course :-). Both breakfasts were delicious! Service was friendly - in fact the entire staff made us feel welcome - the food was served as ordered and the prices were reasonable ~ so yes, this place has earned its five stars! My one regret is that my pal, the late Yelper, Jim D, was not still alive to read my review because the guy lived for great diners! read more

Came here after a minor medical procedure for a nice breakfast following a grueling 24 hour clear liquid diet. I found it better than your average diner. Service was very sweet and friendly without being intrusive. I kept it simple with French toast, scrambled eggs and well done bacon. Sometimes diners use cooking spray and/or fake eggs aka egg beaters that negatively alter the taste of the food. Not the case with the McDonald Avenue Diner. Everything tasted exactly as it should, as if my mom or a good friend were cooking. Delicious comfort food done right. Coffee was very good too! Vibe was friendly with neighborhood locals. Note that they close at 4:00 pm, so plan accordingly. Highly recommend. read more

In a somewhat gritty, light-industrial warehouse-filled area, beneath the overhead tracks of the F Train's I stop, is not a lot of anything when it comes to grub. In fact I counted 2 places within a multi-block range... a corner deli with a myriad of fast food choices, and McDonald Ave. Diner, 2 doors down. (Note: there are two large food markets nearby, should you want to whip us something from scratch). I chose the latter place, McDonald Ave. Diner, hoping for something a tad more healthy/tasty. And it is a shiny/clean contrast to the well worn neighborhood. The menu is pretty typical diner fare - 2 pages of breakfast stuff, an assortment of sandwiches, heroes, burgers, noodle dishes, grilled items and pockets of Italian and Mediterranean favorites. With such as range, it's hard to know what they might specialize in. Likewise, it also makes one wonder if they might have too much variety. Example: they had a number of seafood dishes, but seeing how I was the only customer during a weekday lunch hour*, I kinda questioned the turnover of aquatic inventory. Price wise, it's fairly inexpensive, with most meals coming in under $10. And you get what you pay for. It's not bad... just very plain, basic, diner fare. Guy Fieri isn't going to be pulling up anytime soon to try the "previously frozen hamburger patty with lettuce on a plain white bun." As such, I would file this under the category: "not worth a journey, but OK if you're in need of some non-special diner grub." * oddly, I was the only person there at 1 p.m., but when leaving at 2, it suddenly filled with locals. read more

McDonald Avenue Diner - deluxe burger - Donuts Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I moved into the area in June and of course you want to find someplace that you can eat until you get food. I found this diner because right across the street is a huge Shop Rite Super Market. It also is steps away from the F Train (Ave I) stop. There is not much around food wise around here so I am fortunate I found a diner which has decent food, fair prices, and an owner and his staff are very nice. I gave this place 4 stars because it is really clean (which initially surprised me), the owner, location. The food is standard diner food. Nothing fancy just eggs, Italian, Greek, etc you would find at a diner. It is prepared well. I am not sure how to end this review other than if you are hungry come here. I dont know why the other reviews are so low, but this place feels very home-like. Food is good, prices are unbeatable anywhere else in brooklyn and the owners are very nice. I started coming here after my dad told me about the place. He has been a regular here for over 10 years. Great diner for that morning when you don't want to stand in your kitchen, or where wearing a pair of sunglasses is not frowned upon. A must place to eat if you are in the neighborhood! read more

6am googled closest diner open and found this little gem. Staff was very professional and warm. She even offered me coffee twice with a shy smile. Decor is pretty new. I ordered a Spanish omelette which was yummy. Will definitely be back and make this a routine spot. read more

The service is not top notch but its good enough for a diner. I'm never sure about the hours of this place, I always have to call to make sure it's open before I make the trip. The menu has everything you expect a diner would have. I've been here twice and both times they didn't have the fresh orange juice or pineapple juice I wanted. If you're looking for a quick breakfast that tastes decent, this place should hit the spot. I didn't care for the waitress' attitude when I told her I didn't want my bacon and sausage touching my waffles. When the dish came, sure enough the meats and waffles were on the same plate...touching and I am very particular when it come to different things being on different plates, when I brought up the fact that I didn't like this, she looked puzzled or rather uninterested and didn't try to change or accommodate my request. I also didn't like the fact that the spinach in my egg white omelet looked like chopped frozen spinach. But again, if you want something quick and easy, and you don't care if all your food is on one plate, then this is your spot! read more

Let's get the bad chit out of the way that cost them a . Ordered rye toast got white no problem it was toasted and buttered properly. Wasn't warm soggy bread with a wet spot in the middle. Asked for over medium s got scrambled. Fortunately I do like scrambled s and they were like the toast cooked properly moist and flavorful. So far catastrophe averted. Ordered Romanian steak with s we already know how the s turned out. Steak was perfectly medium rare and a very nice size for the price however it would have been really nice to have a knife instead of a butter to cut it. In spite of the I managed to cut my way through the very end of that delicious perfectly cooked . Oh yeah almost forgot the home ordered well done excellente yes that's my attempt at a Spanish accent. Perfect crisp not burnt service was pleasant. Overall I enjoyed my and s and I will return. The staff is small but professional. I usually go here for breakfast and the food is excellent i love to order the lumberjack special comes with 3 slices of ham egg scrambled and bacon with pancakes all in one plate. They have the most delicious lemon ades you have to try its a small diner the environment is good and clean staff is very nice i go here every weekend love it i highly recommend read more

This is the second time my bf has taken me here and it is amazing. The milkshakes are delicious and I always customize my omelet when I come here. This place takes care of their customers just make sure you confirm your order. Got home fries instead of French fries once. No biggie read more

Been coming here to this diner for over 10 years....the husband, wife & sister(owners) are all friendly...as this place has a HOME COOKED FOOD atmosphere....and the prices are really good.....we either call & order from the menu , or drop by for breakfast , and dinner....portions are nice sized....the only thing that we don't care about this place .....is that IF you show up at 530pm...they are CLOSED !!! it seems to be more of a breakfast , lunch & EaRLY dinner place to eat at........as its very close to our home, they get our orders....if YOU are in the area, drop by and have something to eat you will be PLEASED with the service & the portion size .......don't just take my word.....drop by & see for yourself.........they get my highest ratings 5 STARS !!! ...we wish them continued success , in their future................ read more
