Staying in Brooklyn and was hungry for brunch. This place was a quick walk and so I set off towards some eggs and Brooklyn bagels. Ordered the Greek omelet and my friend ordered a chicken club. My omelette was good but listen it's pretty hard to screw up eggs. The breakfast potatoes were good too and the bagel was classic New York. The staff was friendly but they could pay more attention. My friend specifically asked for no bacon in her sandwich and I asked for a wheat bagel. Somehow there was bacon in the sandwich and I ended up with a sesame bagel. Also had to ask twice for water. I was hoping it would be a secret donut wonderland, which it is not, but if you want decent bodega-quality coffee and donuts (the kind you'd get from a street cart in the city) this is not a bad spot! The coffee is weak rather than burned, which is my personal preference. The coconut donut was solid, and I'd get it again, as was the cruller. This used to be my to go to coffee shop. Service has diminished greatly, the service and food is inconsistent. I didn't rate this on a one time service, but this is my second consecutive time here this month and the food was served cold. My basic to go to is fries and eggs, and even so the fries were cold (how do you mess up fries and eggs). We had a party of three that ordered 4 different items, I guess my order was the first one made and they were waiting for everything to be done before the food was served. I wandered into Best Coffee Shop when I stopped by for a cup of coffee up the street at the D & D only to find that it was closed for Memorial Day weekend. And while I like the D & D, it worked out just fine because this is also a great place! The people working here are bilingual and very friendly. They were also very busy. I do not know if this is the norm or because the competition was on vacation, but from how efficiently they were cranking out orders, I will assume that busy is the norm. While there I watched them prepare some great looking breakfast sandwiches, I do have to agree with Jess S that the bagels looked kind of dull. But since I only tried their coffee, which was very good and reasonably priced at $1.30, I can't tell you how they taste. And for that reason, I will be back another time when it is not right after eating my way through Chinatown over on 8th Avenue! read more

Love this place. I The staff is very welcoming and courteous. I miss sitting in the actual diner but take out and delivery is just as good. They always get the order correct including all my little instructions. Fresh and hot and in a jiffy. Did I mention the donuts? The best donuts. They kick DD's butt. I look forward to my lazy weekends when I can just make a call and I am taken care of. My only complaint is they close too early. They need a night shift. It's so hard ordering breakfast from here because the choices are extensive and everything is so good. My go to is usually the Best Breakfast Wrap ($7). Fairly simple ingredients. Scrambled eggs, bacon, tomato, American Cheese, and avocado. I am totally NOT a fan of American Cheese but damn, this wrap is totally addicting that I don't even mind the cheese. This wrap is my breakfast crack! Also, their french fries!! They are so freaking good. I can eat like 10 orders of these. They are pure perfection. Their bagels, while not truly authentic, are always fresh, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. They make for a great breakfast sandwich. They have quite a few healthy options as well. The turkey and egg white wrap is extremely filling and satisfying. They have a few breakfast burrito choices that I must try soon. Can't forget their donuts, too. A decent variety and they are hefty! So yummy. They don't leave an aftertaste in your mouth like other stand-alone donut shop donuts do. I've only had breakfast from here before so I can't comment on the other menu options, but I can attest that my co-workers go absolutely ga-ga over their chopped steak sandwiches! Yikes, only go in there is go you want a bagel and coffee. I was really disappointed when I tried a spinach and tomato omelet. They do not use fresh spinach, they used canned spinach and regular beef tomatoes. I could of made a better omelet, that omelet tasted like it came out of a can. Then a couple of weeks later I went in for a grill cheese with cheddar, they used american...ehh, I hate american cheese, is that even cheese.....They don't seem to know the difference. But I can say for sure they make a great butter bagel and regular coffee. read more

I've been going to this diner for more than a decade. This is a great place to go to in the morning, very old school and service operates very smoothly with the guys up front, behind the counter. Serving sausage and home-fries in the morning to chicken parm for lunch, they have a large variety of foods to offer any diner that walks through the door. To my surprise, they make their doughnuts fresh every morning and sells them throughout the day. The doughnuts are 80% of the reason why I give this place a 4 star rating. We got 2 omelets, 2 iced coffees, 7 donuts and a cinnamon roll, because it's that type of morning, and it was under 30$. Also, it's all amazing, all of it.
