I typically come in here only when I'm the area. The establishment is always clean and opens early am 5am which is a such a plus if you work extremely early in the morning. As far as the customer service goes I wish it was a bit better. The staff aren't the most pleasant. No good morning no acknowledgement of comprehending what you order they just walk away and start the order. Which is why I double check always. I do notice they speak more pleasantly to other customers that come in. Not sure if it's a culture thing or could they be discriminatory but it's a bit unsettling. Food: 3.8/5 I only order the poppy seed bagel and that's pretty tasty. Not to doughy although I do have them take out a good portion of the bread because I like it to be extremely thin. Service: 3 /5 Service needs major improvements , language barriers are also a major factor to consider as they do speak Spanish and their primary language. Ambiance: 3/5 Standard & basic bagel shop set up. Standing & waiting area is basic they have counter tops should you want to stand inside and eat nothing fancy. They do have a wide variety of drinks to choose from and coffee and tea. read more

I came early in the morning at 6:10am. It was about 3 people inside in between eating, ordering and looking around. I was quickly greeted upon my entry. Everything was fully stocked and organized. Then I placed my order. I wanted to try something new so I decided to get the jalapeño and cheddar cheese spread on a cinnamon bagel. I took some bad pics but its only bc the bagels were so good and soft and tasty. They had avocado and I love them in sandwiches and everything else. Lol, but sesame bagel super fragrant and soft, fresh and toasted amazingly. Tofu cream cheese were good it was my first time having it. I so wish we had a good bagel place in the neighborhood (@LaBagelDelight waiting for you!) but we don't so instead we're stuck with subpar, not fresh tasting bagels from Hot Bagels. I don't know if they're made elsewhere and brought over or what but they always taste at least a day old and chewy in an unpleasant way. Most of the time I'll make the extra effort to just go to Park Slope for bagels but once in awhile I'm too lazy and end up in the disorganized line in Hot Bagels and always regret it. read more

I love these bagels! And they have tofu cream cheese which is a plus. The coffee is just OK so definitely just go here for the bagels. My only gripe is that the service is super slow. For some reason, they have one person handle a customer at a time (they take your order, prep your order and cash you out) instead of having one person on bagel prep and another at the deli and one at the register. So it slows things down quite a bit. If there are other people there in line you might be waiting a while to get your bagel and go. read more

Famished in the middle of a double bubble at work, I made my way into Hot Bagel and I'm so glad I did. My grilled spicy turkey with fried egg and sauteed onions on a toasted, plain bagel was DEElicous! Every bite was so fresh and so tasty. Kudos to the cook who kindly honored my last minute request for sautéed onions after my bagel was almost complete. Hot Bagels also sells light grocery items like loaves of bread and they offer a variety of cold beverages. Bagels aren't all that's on the menu. There's also paninis, wraps and other breakfast goodies to kill your morning munchies. Good stuff. read more

My office is close to here so I frequent it for lunch. The bagels are good NYC bagels. My go-tos are scallion cream cheese, lox, tomato, red onions or tuna pickles, and red onion. The lox is good quality. The people working behind the counter are friendly, offer good service, and are helpful. It's also pretty quick service, I have never waited for more than 5 minutes for my bagel. There isn't any seating here; there is one standing table/ledge where I guess you could eat standing. read more

Bagels are $1.25 each and absolutely delicious. Very similar to Long Island bagels which are my fav. They have a variety of toppings and sandwich/panini options. No seating inside so you have to take everything to go. The line moved quickly and I suggest you have your order ready to say once you get to the front. Def worth trying! read more

Amazing sandwiches, great bagels, exemplary staff. Open 24 hours! The coffee isn't so great, and their chips selection has historically been pretty meh... but the bottled drink selection is good, and in the last several months they've had Rap Snacks chips -- which are just over the top delicious. My first time visiting this business. I walked in and said Hello to the young man behind the counter who did not reply back. My face has the "Huh?" look on it like what just happened. First of all, I believe that customers should be greeted when entering a business because customers are what keep your doors open for business. I ordered a sesame bagel with one egg and it was really delicious. It was so good that I decided to order another bagel but this time, everything bagel with butter and jelly which was also delicious. I also asked the young man to clean the counter where I was eating at because there was droplets of coffee on it. No one came over to clean the counter at all like it wasn't a big deal. However, the bagels were great but service could be better and needs to be worked on. read more

Quintessential Brooklyn, neighborhood bagel shop. So local that there's almost no online presence except for this Yelp page! I stopped by on a rainy Sunday afternoon instead of going to my usual corner deli, just to change things up a bit, and it was definitely worth it! I ordered the Russian panini ($9) and a Pastrami, Egg & Cheese on an everything bagel ($6). One bite into the panini and I was SOLD. I'm personally a big fan of coleslaw so that with the roast beef, russian dressing and caramelized onions... OOF. Magic in my mouth. I must mention it's a very messy sandwich but will be getting that again. The bagel was very good as well! Price wise, it's a little more expensive than your local bodega/deli but still very reasonable. read more

Good, quick, and fresh... the toaster could be dialed down a notch to not burn the edges of bagels, but otherwise solid.

Not bad! The bagels are warm and fresh, and substantial enough without going all the way to being too chewy/hard/thick. If you buy a bunch to eat through the week, slice and freeze them immediately, because the next day they are only good for toast. What they have will depend on how early you get there. Pumpernickel always seems to run out first :( but the whole wheat is good, as are the oat multigrain and the cinnamon raisin. Service for just bagels is fast; be prepared to wait if you're having anything done to them. Bring cash. It's not a great place to sit and eat, but for take out 2 blocks from the F/G subway station, this is decent. read more

I promised I would eventually update my review for my local-est bagel shop. It's still not the best in the area. I would still occasionally go out out of my way to walk to Windsor Terrace or South Slope for a superior bagel. But these are probably the best in Kensington at least. They recently renovated the place so that it no longer smells funky. The area is more brightly lit, nice clean shelves with a better and more fresh variety of snacks. New flavors of ice cream always stocked up in the freezer. Here's where it gets great: they now have a bigger variety of cream cheese! Ahhhh. I love it. Squeals. Before there was about 4-5 generic flavors and now there are close to a dozen. Even pineapple, which I have yet to try. I really like the cucumber though. Bagels are baked at the same consistency. Was never a slam dunk but they are still pretty solid. They also sell rainbow bagels if you're into those gimmicky food things. This store is also still 24 hours. Which is great if you are being followed at 3am or you think that you lose your house keys. I'm a mess and I come in on a pretty frequent basis. Soho Cafe is mad over-priced and this place will give you a HUGE freaking sandwich with whatever the hell you want on it from their wide collection of meats/cheeses for around $4-5 or a bagel for like $2.50 if its fancy cream cheese and I think like $1.50 or 2 if its plain. Steal. Super friendly and so glad this place remains open in the neighborhood. read more

I was driving down Church street, hungrier than ever and kept staring at the car next to me who happened to be chowing down on some bagels, when they noticed me ogling them, they turned to look at me and I said "I'm sorry to stare but your bagel looks so good" ! They did not hesitate to tell me where they got it! The driver replied "it's from hot bagels, so good, just turn around and go up the street" And I sure did make that U turn ! I got a Tuscan panini with chicken and my friend got a fajita panini. Soooo good! Def worth it if you're in the area ! read more

bagel was subpar. Tasted like the ones you get from the grocery store. Strawberry cream cheese was ok but nothing special. On a positive note they did have big blueberry pieces in bagel which is a good sign. Overall place looks cool but the product was not up to the standard of other top brooklyn bagel places. read more

Great food, great service. My go to spot. They take their time for the presentation of the food as well as the taste.

This is me and the kids go-to. Delis sammies are fresh, bagels are Solid. Haven't had their whitefish or Nova. Not a huge selection of spreads but they've got the basics. Full selection of Boars Head Meats and Cheeses which my snobby kids will only eat...actually me too . Service is exceptional. The guys there are on point. read more

Well it's 5 am and probably the only choice you got in the neighborhood. They have bagel, light pastery and coffee. If you want latte or capu, you should wait or just avoid this place. Just get a regular flavorless coffee here. On the bright side, it is cheap and warm. I got a bagel to go and I have to say it's the wrong one they gave me. Also you forgot to toast it and I am like the only other guy in the shop at this hour. They do offer bagel and egg but it was a little early for them and myself. Walking by after work, I usually see they have some bread and light grocery but it's better to stop by across the street for those. As the only bagel and coffee spot on the way to the subway, you don't really have a choice. This is better than the deli thou which I have to be honest with. read more

One of the best bagels in all the 5 boroughs. Regularly bring them to work events & people always try to guess where the bagels are from... They typically guess they're from UWS. This is a low-key, old school bagel joint. Basically, it's a family run spot w/ regular staff who work hard on the daily in a shop that typically has a line out the door. read more
