I discovered Bagel Villa through DoorDash, and have ordered from them a few times. It's the only place I've seen that offers a bagel with lox and cream cheese for under $15- a rare find in NY. Here, a bagel with lox and cream cheese is just a little over $10- it's not only a steal, it's delicious, too! The bagel is cooked perfectly and is a great size for breakfast. Super satisfying! Great price point but totally average taste-wise. I was able to get a lox and cheese cheese bagel with onions and capers for a few dollars less than Bagel Boy or Bagel Pub (although Bagel Pub does pile on more lox on their sandwich). My brother got the even cheaper lox spread on a bagel which he liked. The rest of the food seemed like Boar's Head meat and cheese sandwiches which I have less than zero interest in so I would imagine myself coming back here solely because it's near my brother's apartment and is cheap. read more

They cook amazing and are really good and fast but this time I'm upset that I was at work starving and ordered me a bagel with cream cheese and bacon and after a couple bits it tasted weird and I opened the bagel to find something yellow. Was really hoping this bagel joint would be great, considering the reviews, and the fact that they're one of the few bagel shops that got a great score from the Dept. of Health. I think the image I posted of the bagel I received speaks volumes. I asked for a bagel with extra cream cheese, and received a bagel that didn't even have, what would be considered a normal amount of cream cheese. My fiancee ordered cheese fries, which consisted of one melted Kraft single in the middle of a plate of fries. Tasted pretty much as it sounds. Pretty disappointing. I've been coming to Bagel Villa since it opened. It's always been my bagel and sandwich fix spot because many of the neighboring delis that serve cold cuts don't have that big of a meat selection. Also, it is down the block from me. What brings me back is that the workers are friendly, attentive, and welcoming. They'll listen to your requests and accommodate. Basically there's good customer service. I don't know what these other customers are saying but I've never had a bad experience. I haven't tried many things on their menu but I love their garlic bagels, bacon/or sausage eggs and cheese on a rolls/or croissant are very good. They're reasonably priced and moderate/inconsistent portion sizes. But if you want to add anything, know that you'll be charged. Nothing's free. My cousin loves their iced coffee. And they're quick. Now, here's why I had to knock out a point. Everything I said was the highlights and my experience most of the time. Every so often, my bagels came burnt, or my toasted rolls were cold. Sometimes there was barely any cream cheese or when I add bacon, it's a small shriveled up burnt piece. Other times, I felt like I had the greatest bagel of all time because there was a generous portion. There needs to be some quality control. Or check your food before leaving. My go-to bagel place since I moved to Bay Ridge. Always a friendly staff and quick to make orders. Coffee is pretty decent too. They always have a wide variety of bagels and treats, so I'm always finding what I'm looking for. My only complaint about this place is that I'm constantly ordering bacon egg and cheese with salt, pepper, and ketchup and they alwaaaaays forget the salt pepper ketchup. My GOSH! I just had the perfect bagel. My go to spot was out of the way today since I went to do laundry on 5th. I must say, this place blew me out of the water with the size of their bagels and the perfect crisp to the outer part of the bagel. Depending on my mood, I either get a toasted sesame bagel scooped out with butter or the same bagel, scooped with scallion cream cheese. I opted to be a little adventurous today (it is laundry day after all) and go for the later. They scooped out the bagel perfectly and added the right amount of cream cheese. The toasting was perfection. Extra crisp on the outside while remaining soft on the inside. This place has to be a busy spot because they were low on bagels at the time we went (10:30 am) but they had what we needed. Their danishes looked legit too. Next time, I am definitely getting one. Their iced coffee was okay. I like bold coffees. You know, the type that shock you and make you have anxiety. Next time I will try their hot coffee. Their menu looked good too, especially for lunch. Eventually I will try this spot too. The facade of the establishment is a bit deceiving in the sense that it almost looks like a nail salon until you read the business name. Maybe its just me? Inside, the place is clean and there is limited seating. We just grabbed our stuff to go and ate at the laundromat, which worked out since our washers were done.
