It's a Brooklyn staple, their products are sold in many bakeries. This is their flagship, and it's been around for many years. I think their top product are the breads. I've had more of their other baked goods, cakes, cookies and coffee over the years. Nothing really stands out for me, but I do love the freshness of the items. When they're not super fresh, they offer discounts sometimes later in the day. For example, they have a deal on cupcakes after a certain time. People have commented on the service and lack of friendliness. I have to agree, it depends on who's working that shift. If I'm in the area and parking is to be found! I'll go in. This is a baking facility, with a discount counter. I believe their product(Alladin) are sold at specialty grocery stores . Inside you see production going on through the large windows. If you have little ones it's fun for them to see the conveyor belts in operation. Depending on time of day the packaging area is busy but that's separate from the customer service counter. Quite a wide variety of baked goods- challah, cookies, breads and large cake slices etc. Coffee, specialty drinks and cold beverages too. There a standing area with a counter if you want to stay inside There's seating on the outside with a partial frontal view of the Greenwood cemetery entrance. Staff is friendly. Full disclaimer that I had a long run before hitting this spot up, but the donut I devoured was maybe one of the best I've ever had (better than donut pub). Got a classic vanilla sprinkle and that donut had heft to it when I picked it up. The interior is chewy and soft- that gluten was definitely raised by two loving parents. Baked in Brooklyn also had a promo going on that I've been unapologetically getting where you buy a large latte or cappuccino and get a free pastry (tons of options like donuts, croissants, scones and more)! Caramel latte was very solid but I'm not a coffee connoisseur so take that as you will. I also got two wraps: spinach wrap and the BB wrap. Spinach wrap was refreshing and had peppers, egg whites, and turkey. The BB wrap is like a typical breakfast wrap and had avocados, sausage, and egg. BB wrap is definitely on the heavier side so if you're hungry I'd go with that one. There's a few tables to eat outside and a small bar inside to stand and eat. I really wanted to give this place a shot because the vents outside are always blowing the smell of baked goods all around the property however, after a certain time of the day, there's really nothing to purchase from this gigantic location, except for loafs of bread.I have attempted to purchase a sandwich from here multiple times the first two I was told that the kitchen was closed but not told what time and after checking the website I wasn't able to retrieve any information on a timeframe in which they can actually make sandwiches. The third unsuccessful attempt to purchase a sandwich I was told that the deli counter closes at three. The fourth attempt I was able to order a sandwich from the store, which was an Italian hero on sesame bread. It was not until I got home when I realized that they gave me a chicken sandwich with mozzarella tomatoes, and spinach, an entirely different sandwich from what I ordered on the bread that I had requested. I was able to call the store and pick up the correct sandwich and realize that the bread was no longer sesame like I had originally wanted. Despite the sandwich being half decent all of the disappointment has clouded my experience. Today being the fifth and last time I'll ever enter the store at 2:30pm and I was told on Sundays the kitchen closes at 2, again New information. Although baked in Brooklyn is a prepare for many packaged snack snacks across New York and beyond, the actual store,lacks the level of professionally as it seems like the staff is idle and makes the rules as they go. read more

Disrespectful and Discriminatory Staff: While the food here is genuinely tasty--albeit slightly overpriced--I have patronized this establishment for years and remained loyal because of the quality. Price has never been an issue for me when the food is good. What ultimately ended my support is the repeated lack of respect and impartiality shown by certain staff members. As a first responder in the area, I was occasionally given a courtesy discount while in uniform, which I always appreciated but never requested. I continued to return regularly and paid full price regardless, understanding that discounts are discretionary. I was a loyal customer to the point of bringing my subordinates here as well. Unfortunately, the ongoing issue has been how I and my colleagues were treated in uniform. The final straw occurred when I entered with an NYPD officer and placed my order as usual. At the register, the officer received a discount, and a staff member loudly instructed the cashier, "Do not give her a discount--she is not a cop," referring to me. This was not an isolated incident; similar comments were made on multiple occasions. On another visit, while standing in line and speaking with the same NYPD officer, neither of us received a discount--which again is not the issue. What was unacceptable was a staff member coming out specifically to state that we should not be given discounts simply because I was present. This behavior is not about discounts--it is about respect, professionalism, and fairness. Singling someone out and treating them differently is targeted and discriminatory. If a business chooses to offer courtesy discounts, they should do so impartially or not at all. Because of this repeated and public disrespect, I will not be returning. read more

They come with Smoked Salmon, onions, capers, Cream Cheese & tomato. Everything is always so fresh. Some mornings I love to walk here to get a bagel and lox, which will cost you just under $10 after tax. A pretty solid deal in Brooklyn if you ask me. The bagel is always fresh with a crispy exterior and soft interior. Quality of salmon used is good, the tomato is fresh. I like to wash it down with freshly squeezed orange juice. the orange juice is a little bit on the pricier side but pure and fresh - you simply cannot beat that. I love the bar seating, looking towards the Gothic entrance of the greenwood cemetery. Sitting here and enjoying your morning bagel is definitely a vibe. This places smells so good, it's actually kind of weird. You can be in the cemetery not even in viewing distance of the bakery and it smells like there's a tray of fresh bread right there. We walk around in the cemetery all the time, and we finally decided to actually check out the bakery. It's right near the front entrance of the cemetery, and easily accessible by bus (nearest subway is the F/G/R at 4th and 9th). Okay so there is some seating outside but this is mostly a to go store. They have everything and it's all fresh. Big challah style loaves (I doubt they're kosher or that challah has been taken), baguettes, rye, various rolls and pastries, too many to list here. Sweet and savory. We recommend the spinach pastries and the hot cross buns. Excellent quality and reasonable prices. Sometimes they have a deal where if you buy a drink you get a free pastry. Despite parking being a virtual nightmare, this is one of the nicest bakeries I've been to in a long time with the old school industrial feel. I've had their chips before and they're amazing. But my friend sent me over to pick up some of their rosemary ciabatta (so soft!) and bagels (nice and chewy) prior you my visit to her new city. This location draws in crowds from both the local Sunset neighborhood and South Slope (or whatever they are calling it these days) and Park Slope neighborhoods. The check in allows for a free bagel with cream cheese/butter. I totally cashed in and got a toasted everything with cream cheese. For free you can't complain, but even so, the bread was of excellent quality. this not my first (or last) time here and in the past I have gotten baked sweets, sandwiches and breakfast items. My absolute favorite thing on the menu are the Hallah bread donuts. They are fluffy, filled with perfectly sweetened fruit filling (I suggest apple) and covered in cinnamon sugar. For anyone with a bout of nostalgia, their homemade poptarts also get an honorable mention. Everything here is fresh, made with quality ingredients and in front of your very eyes, thanks to the glass enclosed bakery. This location also houses the Aladdin bread company, so their items are also available for purchase, along with the more artisan BIB items. I love this place in both winter and summer, but the outdoor tables make it so cute in warm weather. My only suggestion would be a way to include more indoor seating. read more

So basically alllllll of the donuts are awesome. Oo! And they're only $1.75 a piece. Sooo yeah, I'll take 6. And then there are the Challah Rolls. A 6-pack sells for $2.50 and these are the softest and squishiest rolls ever. They have a hint of sweetness and I just love them so much. The Focaccia Rolls are also top notch. 4 rolls = $1.25 and come in two different shapes for all of your sandwich making needs. You can get them plain or sprinkled with rosemary and other i-talian seasonings. We picked up a package recently and made some pretty excellent meatball sandwiches with them, just saying. Then there's the Coffee Cake. Melt in your mouth cinnamon sugar deliciousness. Huge slice. Only a couple bucks. Amazing. I know what you're thinking - 'come on - not everything can be amazing'. I have definitely fallen in love with their fresh baked bread! The soft fluffy inside with the crusty outside. It reminds me of the scene in Ratatouille where Colette squeezes the bread and has that smile on her face. =) Anyway, I find myself coming back every week to grab their fresh baquette, raisin rolls and brioche rolls. I recently ordered a birthday cake from them and it was surprisingly very good. A few years ago, I grabbed donuts and brownies from them and didn't think they were good so my review back then was a 3 star. Now having had their breads, this place is a solid 5 star! Their staff deserves 5 stars alone! They follow social distancing and are super friendly and nice. A man was extremely rude to me and didn't follow social distance rules while I was placing an order. He ended saying something racist and derogatory to me (which I didn't hear) but the cashier heard him and reprimanded him saying "DO NOT SPEAK to our customers that way!" When I worked in Industry City I'd walk past this way coming home strictly to get a loaf of that cranberry walnut bread, which sells out by the end of the day because it is just that great. In fact I'm a pretty big fan of all of the fresh breads here, they've all got a unique spin that really makes the trek out here worthwhile. Since COVID they've been great about limiting customers and wrapping each individual loaf so there's no fear of contamination (as it used to be more of a tongs n bag your own situation). Bread's just as good as it ever was... and if that cranberry walnut is sold out sometimes they have little individual roll versions instead. Took my dog for an early morning grooming appointment and went to Baked in Brooklyn because it wasn't too far and the reviews looked pretty solid. Glad I did! I got a bacon egg and cheese with avocado on an everything bagel (as did my partner) and a brownie for later in the day. The BEC was so so so good! The bagel isn't thick, it has a nice crunch and the perfect amount of seasoning. Honestly I could go for another right now! The brownie was pretty good, HUGE, not too sweet despite having the chocolate chips and drizzle on top. The 3 items in total was about $16. Not too bad when at times we spend $30+ on breakfast delivery. Next time I would try one of their cinnamon rolls, they also looked gigantic and tasty.
