Let me just start this out by saying I am a lox fiend. I have a thing about lox-to-cream cheese ratios. Bagel Boy does their toppings *the right way*. If you're like me and you want a standard lox bagel sandwich with all the fixings (tomato, capers, onion, cream cheese), this is the right place to go. When I casually mention how much I love Bagel Boy, Bagel heads may scoff that they are not "hand rolled" bagels like at H+L (oh heaven forfend!) but, respectfully, the bagels are made fresh on site, perfectly tasty, and, to be quite honest, I couldn't care less about the actual bagel--which, to be clear, is also delicious! What I DO care about is that their lox is buttery, smooth, and not too salty. I don't have any other order but the one I specified above. It's huge and you get a lot of sandwich for about $12.50. As for the bagel, I tend to go for an onion or an everything. Best bagels in town. I have been a customer of Bagel Boy for years and it was love at first bite. Bagels are always hot and fresh and baked to absolute perfection. I am so excited when I go into the shop, it is a bagel lover's dream and also offers specialty sandwiches, specialty wraps, paninis, customizable salads, breakfast specials, soups and catering services. If you are looking to host a party, special occasion or just ordering a la carte, then Bagel Boy is perfect. I love the mini bagel sandwich platter, which is a fancy tray of assorted Boar's Head cold-cut classic sandwiches on mini bagels (turkey, roast beef, ham and cheese). It can be tweaked if you would like hot and cold sandwiches or if you like a specific cold cut. I like that they can mix mini bagels with half of whole bagels to mix and match (plain, sesame, poppy seed, everything bagels). I had the mini bagel spread for New Year's Eve and also for the SuperBowl and it is so good for the holidays. I like that it also includes macaroni and potato salads and mayo and spicy mustard for the sandwiches on the side of the catering order. I also had the bagel wheel at parties and it is good for big crowds and festivities. I love kicking off the day with a hot egg sandwich (eggs or egg whites) on a classic bagel and then I add black pepper for a little bit of spice. These are the best bagels IMO. They are soft, but crisp on the outside and fluffy. They have a ton of different flavors such as strawberry, scallion and bacon cheddar. They have employees that have been working there for years (30+) and treat them well. The sandwiches are all stellar, my favorite is the belly buster. I have a personal favorite bagel spot and don't usually venture out but my husband offered to pick up some bagels from a new spot closer to home for brunch on the way home from Target. He knows what I usually get so I trusted his judgment and hubby did not disappoint. Each of our sandwiches had cream cheese, lox and avocado - one on sesame bagel (his) and one with everything (mine). Bagel Boy has solid bagels and I was very impressed. The cream cheese spread was plentiful, lox generous and avocados enough for a well rounded sandwich. I've only tried this via uber eats but I can tell you each time they deliver, literally. The bagels are surprisingly very good! I know you won't find this on the list of top bagels but it is still worth trying. The everything bagel is crunchy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside. One of the best bagel shops left in New York City. They say bagels are all about the water and nobody out of New York can replicate it. Weekends are always SUPER busy. It's ok as they usually have 10 or more people on staff. Great bagels and other things to choose from. Sandwiches, paninis, wraps, assorted flavored and regular cream cheese, all types of bagels, coffees, teas, pastries, cookies, fruits, drinks, and a full catering service. The food is fresh, bagels are freshly made, the store is clean, consistent good service and the owner or manager are usually there to insure the experience is a good one. I came here for a large coffee this morning. I walked in and found plenty of staff members behind the counter ready to take your order with two additional staff members ready to ring you up. They even had in-house delivery members as well. I ordered a large French vanilla hot coffee. While I was waiting for it, they had plenty of bagels and different types of cream cheeses. Their breakfast menu is pretty extensive included pancakes, egg platters, and omelets. The prices are right. I paid $2.85 for a large coffee. The coffee was hot and made to my liking. My favorite egg everything is a good place to start when trying out a bagel shop. The bagel had a soft interior that surprised me. No heavy bagels here. The exterior was baked perfectly without being too chewy or crusty. Perfect. Had my egg everything with cream cheese cant go wrong. Bonus points: The Bagel was still warm around 7am on a weekday. It's a solid bagel spot that makes good coffee, and iced coffee. If you go on a Saturday or a Sunday morning, expect a line. Once you get on line, follow the progression. Know what you're going to order before walking up to the guy at the counter (you had all that time in line to think about it), then you make your way over to the register to pay. It's simple, and uncomplicated, as long as you follow those steps. My personal favorites are the bacon, egg n cheese on an everything bagel or veggie cream cheese on an everything. Very good bagels, I've been coming here for years. It's not my favorite spot in Bay Ridge for a bagel but it's definitely in my top five. I stopped by this week for an everything bagel with turkey bacon and eggs and wasn't disappointed, very delicious. The bagel had a lot of "everything" on it which I always enjoy, more is more to me Besides the good bagels they also offer salads, cold cuts, coffee, pastries, and more. They have a huge selection of drinks and a good selection of chips and candy. It can be a little confusing when you order though because it's usually busy so you wait on line to order than wait on another line to pay than usually wait to get your order once you've paid. Also the candy is in front of the cashier which is usually where everyone waits for their food so it can be hard to grab something with people standing around but they do have a decent selection of candy and gum there. tldr; Good bagels, incompetent back-end staff, poor customer service, and not safe-guarding customer information. Let me preface this by saying the only reason I buy at Bagel Boy is because they have a multigrain bagel that my mother loves and for years I've purchased them via their own online ordering platform two dozen at a time to bring to her on Long Island. I will no longer do so after the last two bad experiences. In June, I pre-ordered nearly $60 in bagels for delivery at 9:25am the next morning (Sunday). When the order didn't arrive by 9:55am, I called the store inquiring about it only to be told they were out of the bagels I pre-ordered. 1. How does a bagel shop run out of pre-ordered bagels? and, 2. How do they *not call the customer* to inform them of this? Order canceled. This morning I decided to call in the order to ensure they had the multigrain bagels and learned that you are no longer able to call in a delivery order - fair enough, in theory online ordering is more efficient as it frees up staff to do other things. I placed a $62 order for 2 dozen bagels and 3 egg sandwiches, yet 2 dozen bagels and 2 egg sandwiches arrived. Fine - I call the shop to inform them that a ($9) sandwich was missing and was told by the girl who answered the phone that she didn't know what the options were and I had to speak with a manager. The girl was apologetic, and nothing against her...but how does the staff not have the authority to correct a delivery error? When the time waiting hit *15 minutes* I called from another mobile phone and guess who picked up? The manager, who replied that he was too busy to pick up the line I was *still* waiting on. Excuse me? Maybe you wouldn't be "too busy" to deal with a partially missing order if the staff didn't screw up orders to begin with. So, the manager sends over the missing item - which the girl who answered should've been able to do in the first place. Of course, it's not exactly what was ordered. Turns out, one of the originally delivered sandwiches was also incorrect. And, get this, the "scrap" paper they wrote the missing sandwich on had another customer's name, address, and phone number on it! FWD to unpacking the 2 dozen bagels. I ordered 18 multi-grain and 6 sesame and received 6 sesame, 13 whole wheat, 8 cinnamon raisin, and ZERO multi-grain. The staff couldn't even deliver the correct number or type of bagels ordered. Not only can the staff not fulfill orders correctly, but the manager apparently does not safe-guard sensitive customer information. Mistakes happen, but two experiences in a row is trending towards a pattern and not a coincidence. read more

I have been a customer of Bagel Boy at 3rd ave Brooklyn for quite some time. The quality of food is not consistent like the bagels are mostly old and dried, same with cream cheese. My main concern is about staff and the service. The register is the face of any business. While it was ok in the past however the current staff is pathetic. They are least concerned what you are asking for like today I asked for a cup of coffee, she carelessly asked which one I said with cream and sugar and please dont make too black keep it little light. I found the coffee total white with lot of cream that you can not tell if it was coffee in the creamer or creamer in the coffee with no taste of coffee and just cold milk because of the amount of creamer added. Moreover they behave as if they are performing (art) on the stage talking acting laughing giggling with each other and with some of the customers unnecessarily that of course diverts their attention from the business and their job and act like they are distributing just for free. read more

I wanted to try out a different bagel shop in my area, so I decided it would be Bagel Boy. It was pretty crowded inside, but they had many workers and someone helped almost immediately. I went with a toasted everything with scallion cream cheese. The bagel was perfectly toasted and the scallion cream cheese was great. I'd definitely return as the bagel was great, the service was prompt and staff was courteous. Can't ask for anything more than that. read more

I can now say I have been to all three Bagel Boy locations (Old Bridge, NJ, Sheepshead Bay, and Bay Ridge); while all three locations are pretty good and have their own special character to them (e all of the locations seem to have the local law enforcement eating here), this is the best location. This one is the most organized, the best employees, and a much nicer customer base. The bagels at all three are about the same (chewy bagel with good flavor), but this one seems to have a bit more bagel magic. The Everything Bagel hits the spot here, and the bagels here are consistent from the first bite to the last. It is not too far from the subway, but get here early because it gets busy. Get your bagels here, but your spreads elsewhere. With that, you are set for the week! read more

The disappointing: I ordered sandwiches today for the first time and am a bit disappointed. I was in the mood for a chicken Parmesan sandwich - they only have that available in the form of a panini (not hero's, to my disappointment, but I was fine with it) so I ordered the panini chicken parm for myself, and the eggplant parm for my vegetarian partner. They both are advertised to come with marinara sauce, as anyone would expect, but they don't really...the eggplant is dry eggplant with cheese, zero evidence of even a drop of marinara at all. And the chicken parm came wrong - not a breaded cutlet, but instead was salsito turkey and cheese, no marinara. Would have much preferred a regular breaded chicken cutlet with marinara on a hero...the guy on the phone said they don't really put much marinara because it doesn't hold up as well. In my opinion, stop selling it as a "panini" then, use normal hero bread, and make with the appropriate, advertised ingredients. read more

This spot opens really early in the morning. I am able to stop by at 6 in the morning and they are already up and running. Can order ahead of time on their website which is what I usually do. Service is always good, never encountered a rude staff here. I usually get a BLT on everything bagel or a cream cheese bacon on everything bagel. Their everything bagel is decent, not as salty as most places which is a plus! a bit less flavorful and doesn't hook it up as much compared to another spot I usually go to. But still a decent bagel! I wanted to love this place. I really did. After all, I spent god knows how long searching for a good place to Uber me some food, before deciding on Bagel Boy. First things first, the Whole Wheat Everything Bagel that my sister ordered (which I later stole half bc I was starving) was delicious. HEAVENLY, in fact. She also got an iced coffee and it was good too, though I didn't take a pic. However, truth be told, my sister wasn't planning on ordering a bagel and iced coffee... I practically forced her to get something just so I could avoid the Uber Eats small order fee. The larger (and costlier) portion of the order--the portion I had actually planned on ordering and eating myself--was no bueno. In simpler terms: bad. I got a Chicken Parmigiana Panini, which came with a small mixed green salad, and a Full Order of Home Fries. Bagel Boy was generous with the portions but the taste and quality... eh. Something in my panini tasted really sour--I think it was the marinara sauce--and I ended up taking a few bites before tossing it all out. Such a waste of money. The side salad was packaged together with the piping hot panini, making it warm, wilted, and limp, and that's a big no no in my books. The home fries wasn't what I was expecting--I was thinking more buttered potatoes seasoned lightly with salt and pepper (maybe even paprika)--but eh, it was still decent. Anyways, next time around (yes, I'll still come back), I'm just gonna stick with the bagels. I cannot emphasize enough just how tasty the Whole Wheat Everything Bagel was. This is a staple of my childhood. I grew up next to the one on 4th Ave in Bay Ridge before they moved and went to this location years ago. There's no other place that does a bagel the way they do. They have these marks/print at the bottom of the bagels they give it an extra texture crunch to them. My standard order as a kid was always a bagel with cream cheese toasted and it's always warm, gooey, and sometimes messy but guaranteed delicious! They're a local spot in in Bay Ridge and everyone will double park at the bus stop, across the street, or by the hydrant to grab their order. Cops won't even give you a ticket because they're also going in for some breakfast. They offer a wide variety of options: blueberry, croissants, muffins, rainbow, pumpkin, everything bagel, etc. They have different spreads of flavors. Occasionally I'll treat myself to a salmon lox bagel and it's worth every penny. Egg sandwiches are great and they can do any combo you're looking for.
