I was apart of the Franklin ave open streets and met this guy that told me he had the peach cobbler cream cheese. Of course I was intrigued upon walking up to the Bagel pub there was a huge line and patrons sitting outside eating. You have to go in the back to place your order and pickup. That's where the lovely case of the cream cheese was omg I got the bacon scallion. Which I wanted to change since I saw a Very berry flavor lol. But I live in the neighborhood so I will definitely be back and may try the iced coffee which you order upon entering freshly brewed and different as well. They definitely excel in their cream cheese here, with the fresh ingredients like scallions, garlic, and mixed berries that they add to their cream cheese. I tried my first scooped bagel since I heard their bagel sandwiches are so good! The lox bagel came with lots of lox, red onions, capers, and scallion cream cheese. The cream cheese does get a bit heavy since it's concentrated to one side, but it's still delicious. The whole wheat everything bagel bread was a bit salty but very chewy. If you're more of a fruity bagel person, the blueberry bagel with mixed fruit cream cheese was such a good option! Wow! They are right - New York bagels are better. We visited twice on our trip, once on a a Friday morning, and again on Sunday. The place was slammed full of people on both occasions. Came here at 9:00 AM on a Tuesday and there were people seated but no line. There's truly an overwhelming number of spreads here for bagels, both sweet and savory. I got a toasted Everything Bagel with Scallion Cream Cheese, and it was ready in about 5 minutes. You have to order the bagel in a separate place from where you pay. There's a few tables nearby that you can sit at to eat. This place does a rather light amount of cream cheese on their bagels, which I appreciate but know that might not be to everyone's preference. The bagel was warm and fluffy with a good tear to it. I liked the cream cheese as well; the scallions are plentiful throughout. I came in just to grab a coffee, but the experience was frustrating from the start. As a first-time customer, the setup was really confusing--there are multiple lines and no clear signage about which lines are for what. I initially stood in the line closest to the door, but it turned out to be the wrong one. I tried asking the cashier directly in front of me for help, but she ignored me completely. I then went to the line marked "Order Here" on the opposite side of the store--still wrong. The staff member there told me I had to go back to the front register (since all I wanted was a coffee) When I returned, I found out I was supposed to be in yet another line--to the left of the first one. It would've been helpful if someone had simply pointed me in the right direction when I attempted to ask. When I finally got to the register, I ordered a coffee with milk and sugar, but was handed a black coffee. I being confused said I had asked for milk and sugar, and was told, "Over there," with no further explanation. A little more clarity and friendliness would've gone a long way. Can't speak to the food, but the customer service left a lot to be desired. If the staff seems frustrated by customers, maybe clearer signage or a better system could help everyone out. This was a cute little place we came to while waiting for the Brooklyn Library to open. It seemed to be very popular as there was a steady stream of people coming in and out. Customer service was decent. They all just seemed in a zone, which is understandable when it's a consistent rush. I was most amazed by the number of different cream cheeses they had. I've never seen anything like it. I decided on a bagel with olive & pimento cream cheese and it was absolutely delicious!!!! My friend got an omelette on a bagel and it was massive!! I also tried the watermelon lemonade. It looked pretty, but i didn't really enjoy it. There is one restroom, which requires a code to use. Between the workers and patrons, the wait was pretty long! Coming here on a weekend morning is a hellish circus and gives me anxiety. Ordering online doesn't help much either. But they offer pumpernickel bagel and vegan cream cheese which are two thing that I have never been blessed with in my life, so I suffer through it. I was scared of the tofu cream cheese before tasting it. I've had grocery store tofu cream cheese before, and it tasted like straight liquid plastic. The tofu cream cheese here is actually enjoyable. It not trying to be dairy cream cheese at all. The tofu flavor is mild and I'm glad I don't have to miss out. They really pack on the topics here. So much so, that you're left with gobs of insides when you're bagel is all gone. I honestly would prefer less so that I could get a decent bagel-to-inside-ratio in each bite. I like to get a sesame bagel. So many cream cheese flavors including the tofu spreads. These are vegan. A healthier alternative. Orthodox Jews also have a dairy substitute they aren't mixing with meat too. It has regular tofu spread flavor. They also have it with chopped scallions. It's $4.25 for a bagel with cream cheese. Their lox specialty bagels are great 90-99% of the time. It is a top tier New York bagel vast majority of the time. Awesome exterior slightly crunchy texture and great interior. It's on par with Brooklyn Bagel & Co in Manhattan and Essa Bagel imo. I live very close to olde Brooklyn bagel shop (which for some reason is always mobbed) in prospect heights and every single time I get a bagel I come to bagel pub instead. The pricing is off the charts. $4 for a toasted egg everything bagel with cream cheese. I ordered a bagel today which I thought was taking a very long time. Checked on it once, and the barista looked in the direction towards the back but didn't really check. I decided to stand towards the front near the register instead of hanging back. Someone asked me again what my order was then simply walked to the back and gave me my order. This means that it had most likely been ready for a while but was waiting to be collected. Had I not insisted on standing somewhere clearly visible, then I probably would still be waiting. I wasn't even there at what one would consider a peak time. I had popped in around a quarter to 11am. This is definitely one of my top bagel spots in New York considering both serving and price. I went with 2 bagels - 1 white fish, and the other lox with onions, cream cheese, and tomato. They cost me around $13-$15 each and were very generous in size and ingredients. I've had some comparable bagels in other spots in the city that have made me bleed $20-25 out of my wallet for 1, so I was actually very satisfied with Bagel Pub. As for portion sizes, I normally eat a lot and I wasn't able to finish the Lox bagel in 1 sitting and saved some for later. In fact, my paper bag broke walking on the way home!
