I don't know where to begin! This is a hipster joint. If you were looking for overpriced, boujee and quality sandwiches you've come to the right place. The prices in Brooklyn are significantly higher than anywhere else in the state and borough mostly because of the insane rents. Still there's something old fashion and special about this place. They get their bread and bagels delivered fresh daily and I thoroughly enjoyed my bacon egg and cheese which was loaded with REAL pork bacon! They do have some delicious looking lattes and coffees! Pro-tip: The sandwiches are a much better value than the bagels. Highlights: The amount of chicken they put in the grilled chicken sandwich is a really good deal and they are also generous with the avocado, which is nice to see these days. Just a straight up day old burnt whole wheat everything bagel that's pretty much just sesame and poppy seeds? I did not get it toasted so it was baked this way and they thought it was okay to serve. A very sandwich focused bagel shop. Not the best bagels, but solid ones, and lots of fun options for vegans! I'm pescatarian and prefer to avoid dairy, so I was pleased to order a vegan version of a bagel with lox and the works-- a bagel tofu cream cheese, dill, capers, and carrot lox. The carrot lox was very unique. It was so tender that at first I thought it was made of peppers. It had a very strong, pickley flavor which I thought was a nice substitute. I do still eat lox and like that better, but I'm glad I tried this and would definitely recommend it to vegans and vegan curious folks. The coffee was good. I really enjoyed my egg salad bagel. Their coffee was decent too. My friend and I sat and enjoyed our bagel breakfast before setting off to the museum to see Frida. While the bagels and vibe were nice (think spring and birds), the ordering experience wasn't the best. The girl taking the order didn't seem to know exactly what she was doing. The other girl behind the counter was clearly annoyed with someone or something, and the regulars behind us were in a hurry, and thus visibly annoyed with us taking too long to order. There is also no bathroom for public use, even if you decide to sit and eat here. So while I did enjoy my meal, I would probably look to try other places first before returning. read more

This place is so nice! The ambiance is perfect it's calm a place you can chill in the morning and eat a warm and delicious bagel! The people working here are nice sometimes I might have to repeat what I say but I believe that's just because they are pretty busy! Been here a few times , bagels are good. Love that you can order from the window. I got the whitefish bagel one time and wasn't too crazy about it. The egg and cheese on the scooped out sesame bagel with bacon is my go to. Just make sure to ask them to crisp the bacon or else it comes out really soft. I am vegan and every now and again I find myself missing a lox bagel on everything. I found this place on Uber eats during one of my I miss lox bagel cravings and I seen that they have a vegan lox bagel and was immediately sold. I must admit that while excited I was nervous about how the taste would translate and interestingly enough the bagel was really good! We are so happy there is a local bagel shop in the area. Fortunately, this place did not completely shut down during Covid and adjusted their business during these difficult times. Also, the delivery is timely. I will say, it is on the pricier side BUT it's so worth it. Better than the other local delivery shops on door dash and seamless BTW. I typically get the salmon and capers. Classic. Always made well while my boyfriend likes to order random things off the menu. Established in 2013.

The name Lula honors the birth of 2 special people in our lives - Ella our beautiful daughter and her best buddy Luca. Their combined names penned Lula. After we created our first cafe in Williamsburg we saw the need for one in Crown Heights - we live a few doors away! Lula Bagel is the little brother of Lula Bean our pioneer cafe on Grand Street in East Williamsburg. Hopefully we will add a few more siblings soon! xx

Meet the Manager: Yosef C.

Yosi knows one thing about the service industry and that is "treat everyone like they're family!" After running a successful East Village restaurant for over 10 years, he ventured out on his own to open Lula Bean Cafe, and more recently Lula Bagel. Yosi is known for creating warm, and inviting spaces, serving great food, whilst providing excellent customer service.

The staff are sharp, and very unwelcoming. This is the general consensus amongst my all of my friends in the neighbourhood Food is overpriced. This is also the third time I have brought my food back home and its wrong, wrong bagel with items missing (that I had actually reiterated twice when ordering since they cant seem to get onion and tomato right) and my bagel was stone cold (I had asked for it to be toasted) Normally I am not one to complain or even go so far as to write a yelp review, but after following up with a phone call the lackluster apology I received left a very bad taste in my mouth. Not very consistent in the quality of their sandwiches..one day it might be great and another terrible. Espresso drinks are scorching hot a.k.a the milk is burned and you can't enjoy the espresso. Maybe a bagel in the morning with cream cheese and regular drip coffee/americano would be better choices. read more

The order total is always under $13 with the up charge and tip included. Today the exact same order was almost $20 before tip. I mentioned the discrepancy in price, and ask why the difference today. They kept insisting it was due to ordering a medium iced coffee, yet it's never been an issue with past orders, including yesterday morning. Expecting a proper explanation, the staff simply shrugged their shoulders without any concern. I've visited Bagel World many times, to the point where two of the gentlemen behind the counter already know my order and bagel preferences. An almost $6 increase without a proper explanation is unacceptable, and a disservice to their clients. Bagel World has lost my business for good.
