I was in the neighborhood looking for a bagel place to eat and a nice person recommended this spot. So I went there to try them out. It's a pretty spacious bagel spot with ample seating menu's with pricing for all items they sell which is helpful. Food: 3/5 I ordered a jalapeño bagel with turkey bacon, and scrambled eggs. The bagel was okay nothing to rave about your standard bagel. Nothing to make me fave about it. The texture was chewy and a bit doughy if you like your bagels that texture this may be the spot for you. Overall my bagel was about 10-12$ I believe. They charge extra for a rainbow bagel and other specialty bagels like jalapeño. Which is pretty expensive so make sure you're aware of that. Service: 3/5 The customer service was mediocre. The guy at the front wasn't the most pleasant. Very much get you in an out top of place. They weren't rude but not the most cheerful I'd say. Ambiance: 3/5 standers bagel shop nothing really impressive or spectacular. I will say when in the area due to the lack of places to eat that make REAL food. I really want to like this place.. sigh. Everytime I order I am left wanting more. Today I went for a French toast bagel and asked for Chocolate chip cream cheese. Another terrible experience ordering a breakfast sandwich today. The guys don't pay attention at all to the customers coming in and in line. I waited almost 15 min for someone to ask for my order. This place takes advantage of unknowing customers. I was overcharged, asked for a 1 croissant instead of bagel and was charged an xtra 3.70$ and also I have to pay an operating fee. So on top of the outrageous prices the customer has to pay an operating fee. On 4 sandwich's I paid 2.99 tax and 1.45$ operating fee. Hope this ends soon. read more

Fresh, soft with bite, and slight chewy glazed exterior; consistently reliably satisfying bagels! I always want to get one of the classic flavors or one with their egg salad or tuna for lunch, but always end up getting their jalapeño bagel with jalapeño cream cheese for breakfast. What a treat to start off with a bit of heat in the morning. And their portions are quite generous! Also notable: super friendly and efficient, the store is brightly lit and clean, and the very early hours. Bagels are the best for the area. My old goto closed down about 5 years ago so they got a battlefield promotion. Bagels are freshly made and I recommend their roast beef on a bagel, their tuna is also delicious. But my fav (on occasion because it basically can feed 2 people) is their Mexican Torta! I love bagels and it's been awhile since I had eaten any. I live really close to this bagel store and decided to pop in one day. They had 3-4 people on staff and one person who was eating their order inside the store. They have a few tables that allows people to eat their food or wait until their order is ready. This was my first time at this location and I was unsure of the ordering process. I waited until someone was free and ordered an everything bagel toasted with cream cheese. The bagel itself was okay but, nothing noteworthy. The bagel tasted fresh but, not just baked today fresh. I didn't like how hastily and lopsided the bagel was creamed. I felt like the store was pretty much empty and the staff was basically just talking to each other that they would put more effort into their work. I thought it was an okay bagel for $3. Also, they do charge extra for using a credit card. When I went to pay for my order the guy said there was an extra charge for using a credit card. I placed an order for pick up through Uber Eats. I had ordered 12 bagels (and got 2 free) and they completely messed up my order. I ordered 2 plain and 12 whole wheat everything bagels. I got 5 plain bagels and 9 random bagels (only one was an everything bagel and not even whole wheat). I felt like if they ran out of bagels, they could have waited until I got there or at least me know when I got there. Again, when I went to pick up my order the entire store was completely empty and the store was fully staffed (at least 4 people behind the counter chatting with each other). Highway bagels donated a ton of bagels to my school completely for FREE, it was an act of charity that they really didn't have to do, but decided to perform in the benefit of an educational event aimed to inform attendees about the ways to transform common foods into something healthy and nutritious. However, these bagels weren't just something that they spared for us, but actual high quality bread freshly out of the oven that I plan to get again soon on my own time. I'm actually surprised by the reviews but the again I have frequent here often and at first I was skeptical about this place. But after going sevrral times they have improved. Honestly I went bavk becuase the food was good and there is barely any other options in this neighborhood believe me lol. If the waiting is a pet peeve of yours may I suggest 2 things. I would either call in ahead or ordering through Uber eats (or any ordering platform) and choose pick up option. Now if forgetting condiments or utensil I usually ask more than once for them. I was never a big fan of bagels but started to get into it recently. Highway bagels did not dissapoint with their bagels! The staffs were also super supportive. I was helping a friend grab the bagels that Highway Bagel generously donated for an event and when they brought out the boxes of bagels, it was fresh and smelt glorious!!! Best bagels I've had in a while. Ever since Bagel & Bialys closed in the area and I've been on the hunt for another quality bagel store. This is that place. I had a lox and cream cheese on an everything bagel with tomatoes and onions. Bagel was excellent - perfect fluffiness & chewiness. They toast it just right where the bagel is warm and the outside is slightly crunchy without burning the toppings. The smoked salmon was perfectly seasoned. Staff was friendly and efficient as well. You get a small discount if you pay with cash. Store seating area is limited and the lines can get quite long. But the staff behind the counter are quite attentive and will make sure you're taken care of. Cannot recommend enough to any bagel seekers in the area. read more

The big sign in the store say 1 dozen bagels are $18. When I get to the register the cashier charges me almost $20 after I hand them my money. They say that's the new price, yet all the signs say $18. This is illegal. I am OK with the price just not the fact that they post $18 and charge you almost $20. This is simply wrong. I honestly hate giving small businesses bad reviews but this place is just awful in service. Their BEC (bacon egg & cheese) generally is really good which was why I kept coming back but then I notice they started to mess up my orders and charge me different prices every time. 1. I always ask for "bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel with mayo and ketchup". Every time I get food from them regardless if I or someone else order, it ends up messed up to the point where I get pissed off considering their food isn't exactly low deli prices nor are the prices competitive. For example, multiple times, they gave the sandwiches without condiments, they added sausage when this was never requested (and I hate sausage), they gave the incorrect bagel or they charged me different prices. I dealt with that and never gave them a hard time about it. I kept giving them chances but what got me mad the most from my last order was when they gave me a BEC; half the sandwich had almost no egg on it, it had sausage in one of them again, AND they used CHEDDAR CHEESE! I know someone is going to say "why didn't you specify?" but this was the first time in my life that someone makes a BEC with cheddar cheese instead of American Cheese. Ina addition to that, the whole sandwich tasted stale and awful but it didn't stop there - me and one other person who ate the sandwiches (partially) felt sick that day and half the day after. 2. They charge more for mediocre coffee than Starbucks charges which is actually wild to me. I paid close to $5 once, then when I went back again other times, I got other prices between $3~4 for the same size. It's like they don't know the prices for their own stuff or they're drastically adjusting prices randomly. 3. A lot of the workers are kind of unpleasant but not rude. They mumble and again, aren't confident about what the prices of their food costs when asked. Not only were they charging different prices for iced coffee, but they did the same with the BEC sandwich. Overall, the sandwich is great when done properly, but they really need to work on listening and general customer service. After the last bad experience (amongst many others in the past), I've decided to no longer patron this business. read more
