I was here on Saturday (9/28), my friend had an anniversary at this place and we had their banquet. Food was okay, service was not good, my friend basically had to pour shots for us and pass the food on the table throughout the night. Furthermore, my other friend wore his new suit jacket, and throughout the night, the chair he was sitting on completely destroyed the back of his jacket - there was a small metal needle that kept snagging the jacket. (careful where you sit here!) Once we tried to explain to the management what happened, they practically laughed in his face and basically said he was lying and it was impossible for it to happen, and just left him standing there. You can see on other review sites confirming how unprofessional the management is. Luckily, we had drinks (which were not part of the banquet) which made it a little bit better experience. I went here for a friend's 50th birthday and it was so much fun. Best party I have been to in a long time! The food presentation was absolutely beautiful. I tried so many different types of delicious creations. They kept putting amazing stuff out on the table. It was super impressive. The musicians are fantastic. Really dynamic, fun, and engaging. I was here last weekend and it was the worst Russian restaurant I have ever been to. Please save your money. I'll tell you why. 1. Entertainment: the show was so horrible and boring, old has been singers and dancers lip syncing loud weird songs. Low quality costumes. Why even have a show, but this was especially bad. Music all together was terrible. So loud you can't speak to anyone even if they are right next to you. Food: mediocre at best, when it was there. There was at least an hour break in serving where my party was eating bread rolls because there was nothing else to eat. At a Russian restaurant? That's a bad sign, I assure you. We celebrated my girlfriends 45th birthday here. We love the ambiance of this place!!! I was initially expecting for us to be served Russian food but it was more American. I like both so it didn't matter to us. The presentation of the food was excellent and the service was even better. They play live music and interacted with the crowd to get everyone up and dancing which I loved. Valet parking and coat check are available so that was awesome too. Mediocre... Starting from servers, they were never near to be found. Food was blah... ( I guess they have changed a cook) My filet minion was fryed- to boile and hard to bite nothing even close of what I asked for a medim to rear. I would expect much much more for the price of this place. There are better options. I'm not sure how the service can be great but trash at the same time. We brought in a cake for my grandfather's birthday . We asked servers to bring the cake out at least 4 times. I even went to where they stored it and pointed at the cake so the server could understand. It must have been some twisted miracle becAuse after asking for two hours from 12 until 2... they did nothing. It's actually surprising. I felt like I was pouring my soul out to get my grandfathers cake and leave but nothing was working. My grandfather was sleeping. If you've been here you know how hard it is to sleep. My ears are still ringing. Long story short, we left... no idea what they did with the 50$ cake but we were not gonna waist another minute there. Most frustrating day I've had in so long. And remember after paying for your $$$$ seat you have to pay an extra 2$ cash if you want your jacket back. Does that make any sense. I'd expect the price for holding my jacket to be added to the 250$ seat. They had raw oysters one of my favorite. But they were mediocre. Parc oasis has 1$ oysters better than here. They had some raw seafood and such too. Honestly I would have had more fun at home with friends. You can literally go anywhere else for half the price and get a better experience. read more

I enjoy going out and finding new great restaurants. Yesterday we decided to try this place out. The food and drinks are amazing and they even have great entertainment with a dance floor. This place is the perfect spot for a party. The staff were excellent and the prices were really good. I had the calamari, short ribs and warm chocolate lava cake with gelato. It was excellent. They can easily fit 100+ people for a party. The ambience is also great. I don't know why Yelp shows $$$$ . The prices were really good. I will definitely have a party there. read more

This is not an actual review of the food or service, just the fact that this place seems to rarely be open. Walked over several times with family and checked open hours online beforehand and they were never open when we got there! Misleading information online. The last time we tried to go on a Thursday night, the doors were open but it was silent inside, and a single guy behind the bar told us they were only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Took my american colleague to introduce her to my Russian friends and choose Encore - was very happy with my choice. We had a party of 9 people different ages. Service was amazing! We had a guy being around our table and making sure we have fresh plates and full glasses for the whole night. Management recalled me from the last time and were very hospitable and friendly. I want with all of my heart to give this place 5 stars but unfortunately I am unable to do so. My husband celebrated his 30th birthday here last month and I really wanted it to be special. While the venue is nice, there were a lot of things that were lacking and did not put us at ease regarding our decision to celebrate a milestone here. We were the only party of 28 there and I do not feel like we were given the attention that we deserved. I was initially really excited for the food and this was the reason why we were even considering having our small wedding here just a month before. Having purchased one of the more premium banquet packages, the food was incredibly disappointing to us and some of our guests. We also expected a lot from the music but the band was unsuccessfully able to keep everyone up and dancing for a while. They actually had very long stops between songs, which was somewhat odd. There was no transition from one song to another. The sound system, however, was great. The venue promised us that nobody should worry about parking, as there was valet available. There was one valet present for a party of 28 people (we were the only 28 people in the venue on a Friday night) and he would disappear for an hour to park a car. Several of our guests were waiting a long time for the valet before they decided to valet the car on their own. Although one of the owners (Alex- who is also the chef) is VERY nice, one of the other owners/managers was sitting outside by the valet smoking and didn't even realize that there was a valet issue until I came outside. This situation was unfortunate because it took my and my guests' time away from the party. Another thing that we were promised is that a photographer would be there to capture the moment and at least take one group picture. I confirmed a few days before but a photographer never came. I would honestly not mind not having a photographer if the promise was not made, but ...wtf. I do have to give the service 5 stars, as the wait staff was amazing. Overall, this place has a lot of potential. I think that it is nice for a small event such as a bridal shower, but not for a banquet at night, as there are better options in Brooklyn. Again, we don't celebrate many events and just felt very bummed about how this one turned out. read more

Celebrated my friends birthday at the restaurant. We had a party of 16 people, two people were violently sick with vomiting and diarrhea and two including myself had stomach cramps nausea and upset stomach for two days. The food portions where very small, even the beat salad which hardly costs anything to make was only enough for half the table. I understand that maybe the chef was trying to create a modern menu but serving spicy sausage doesn't cut it in a restaurant for the prices they charge. Music was outdated and sucked. Just got married here this past Sunday, and very happy to note that my guests had wonderful things to say about the experience! Outstanding cocktail hour including hors d'oeuvre and drinks at the bar, with plenty of time for the guests to mingle. Excellent event space for a wedding of our size (75 people), though the space would likely be outstanding for 100 - 120 as well. Excellent dance lessons for our first dance provided by one of the talented performers at the restaurant at $75 / hour which was advantageous because we were able to practice in the same space where the wedding would take place. The performances were very entertaining. Although mostly in Russian, there were songs with English lyrics mixed in to make sure that everyone could take part and enjoy. Overall, excellent entertainment situation. Service was great! The wait-staff did a wonderful job making sure that all of the guests timely received attention with regard to food and drink. The food was also delicious and plentiful. If you're looking for a phenomenal bang-for-buck factor in throwing an event for 70 - 120 people, I recommend Encore highly. We'll likely be doing more business with Encore for future events of the sort. read more

This place is AMAZING. The food was tasty, had the Mediterranean salad with shrimp and steak, tried some of everyone's at the table, all was yum and presented beautifully. Service was also great, very attentive staff. And the entertainment is like nothing I've seen in Brooklyn before. Live entertainment that engage with the crowd and really get everyone up and dancing to have a fun time. We had our wedding at Encore this month and it was fantastic. The space is absolutely perfect. We didn't want a typical hall and when we walked into Encore we knew it was the perfect setting for our wedding. I could not be happier with our experience and am so grateful for the staff at Encore for making our day so special. Our guests were incredibly impressed by the restaurant: out-of-towners got to see a perfect slice of Brooklyn, and local guests couldn't believe such a beautiful and spacious event space was located so conveniently in the heart of Bay Ridge. I went to Encore to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. Not only was the place beautifully and and tastefully decorated, the food made a lasting impression on me. The portions were great, the food was seasoned and cooked to perfection, and the staff made sure the guests felt welcome and were very attentive to even the slightest details. I went to Encore for my 40th birthday party, where I had invited all my friends and family. I was very concerned as I do not really love Russian restaurants in general and I never celebrate my birthdays there. I was SO PLEASED, and utterly delighted. This place had a ll the makings of a fabulous night and left nothing more to be desired...it was perfect. Let's start with the space...it's fabulous. I love that it's located in Bay Ridge, because right away the atmosphere is a breath of fresh air. Inside, the space was a mazing, the atmosphere was just perfect enough for everyone to feel united but it certainly wasn't too small. It felt comfortable, like people were brought together in a good time. The lighting and ambience was perfect, it felt celebratory in darkness, but not too dark where you couldn't see. Now, the music...music is the biggest deal to me. I usually have issues with Russian restaurants because they fail to move me and my crowd. Here, even all my American friends could not sit down. We were dancing constantly...it was so much fun. The food was incredible. Every single person at my party was in awe of the food. It was soooo good. And food is a really big deal too. The food was amazing, we didn't know whether to dance or eat. Im usually not a fan of Russian restaurants because the food is always quantity over quality, but NOT HERE!! The food, although plentiful, was served so lovely, like salmon on wood planks, basically stuff you only see in restaurants that prioritize in presentation...this restaurant had it!!! It was so on point. The presentation and the quality of the food was legit. The wait staff was always there to change plates and bring drinks and replace napkins and they were so on-point. It's a big pet peeve when I cant find a waiter to get me a glass of juice, but In Encore, I never had any issues, not for one second. All in all, I, nay WE, had the best time possible. A flawless night. it flowed so perfect, it was delicious, everyone was helpful, it was just amazing. We had a lot of guests, about 40 or 50, basically two long tables full, and everyone had a perfect time. Not only that, but people who weren't supposed to show up, ended up showing up so I was so stressed because we couldn't fit everyone in... and guess what? The wait staff figured it out. They fixed it. Everyone got in and everyone even got to sit near the people they wanted to sit next to. The night was so good that many of my guests booked parties there following mine. Amazing restaurant but unfortunately I had to take away 1 star. The entertainment was on point, the decor was beautiful, and food was delicious. But the restaurant was very dark to take pictures. All pictures came out purple and horrible. Then the photographer took pictures of my entire group by the stage, and the lighting ruined half the picture. I was looking towards the pictures but unfortunately they didn't come out the best. Even pictures that I took with my partner came out just okay. Thankfully everything else was amazing but lighting should have been better. Also, for the banquet there should be more food. I don't think there was enough food honestly. They brought out my cake very late so I can blow out my candle, people wanted to leave already. They also didn't have the sparkling candles for the cake, just a regular one candle. I was disappointed in these small things that could of made my night perfect but unfortunately it didn't. read more

We hosted a wedding party this past Saturday. Had around 120 people, used 6 tables on the main floor and 2 balconies. This was the perfect amount of people everything was great! Food was excellent and plentiful. There was a waiter dedicated for every table which was extremely helpful. The director (Dennis) was very knowledgeable and professional and he helped our vision come to life! We hosted my sister's Sweet 16 at Encore Restaurant last week and it couldn't have gone any smoother thanks to the people at Encore. They delivered everything exactly as it was promised to us. The food was absolutely delicious! The food at cocktail hour was yummy and plentiful with many different hors d'oeuveres being passed around in addition to the food standing on the bar. Max, the restaurant's band leader, even came out during the cocktail hour and played the saxophone for the guests. It was the perfect touch to an already spectacular event. The waiters and waitresses during the reception were perfectly on point, delivering a ton of amazing food to the tables without disturbing any of the partying! Even though we hired a DJ for part of the night to entertain the teens, the restaurant's own live band come on later in the evening and they were phenomenal!! Not only did they put on a very entertaining show, the singers were incredible and delivered all of the songs beautifully. They were fun, exciting, and really kept the partying going for adults and kids alike! Highly recommend this place!! read more

I just hosted my bridal shower at Encore. It's difficult to make me speechless, but encore did just that. They did such an amazing job with every aspect of my shower. They set up the tables just as I needed, they lit candles for me and even helped me with setting up my shower dessert table and props. The food was excellent. There was plenty of food and staff needed to serve. It tasted amazing, every dish came out hot and fresh. The waiters were so nice and helpful my glass was never empty. The owner even custom made the lights so that my chair was in the spot light. They really were the most professional people I have worked with! Best show and entertainment I have recently seen in a restaurant in Brooklyn. Our guests wouldn't stop dancing. Decor, food and it's presentation met a good standard. The entrance looked a bit outdated and smelled like an old place. Overall I would definitely recommend this place and would come back for another celebration. read more

First off the area is great because you can see the bridge just by standing outside of the restaurant and it's a great view. Once inside it looks more like a club then a restaurant but has elegantly placed tables. There was a playful and euphoric atmosphere and the dance floor was close so you didn't have to wander far from the table. The food was honestly amazing. They had little tuna tar tar cones, fish that hung on a wooden pole sideways so you needed to pick it up with clippers. Everything was original, the way the food was presented. The performers were unbelievable, singing popular Russian and English songs of our preferences. They even had a hookah menu which was also a major plus.
