Have been wanting to try this spot for a while. Finally got the change to stop in and try their burger. The decor inside is quite nostalgic and beautiful. The restaurant is huge. There's plenty of seating available, even at the bar if you prefer a quick bite. There are also a few tables outside. We wanted to be more spaced out so we were brought to the back patio side of the restaurant and I gotta say I felt pretty great having the section to ourself haha We ordered our burgers and ogled at the interiors while we waited for our food. The path to the restroom is kind of labyrinthian - with lots of cool decor and mirrors on the way. Food -- Burger comes on an English muffin with a side of fries. It was a juicy patty, mushrooms were tasteless but added some texture to the bites. Fries weren't crispy as you'd expect but it was a nice portion if you're just looking for a bite and ambiance. Overall - the burger wasn't super memorable. We got a house salad to share - it's very basic but that's what you expect when you get a house salad. The dressing was a bit gooey for Italian. It ruined the salad which was a bit pricey to begin with. I'd recommend you ask for oil salt and pepper if you go this route. Service -- Staff was nice overall. One note - our waiter didn't wear a mask but didn't see him too much once we placed our order. Staff was attentive and warm. TLDR; I'd like to go back and try other things. What a fun and funky place! The bread basket is 1000 X better than any other restaurant. The food was delicious-- I had a chopped salad with chicken and cheese. It was delicious. I have not had a hamburger there, but it was just my first time. I have been told that the hamburgers are the best. Additionally, they're open very late and the prices are extremely reasonable. Solid experience here. Staff was cordial and helpful. We sat in the back, but had constant service and staff checking on the table. Collectively, we had mostly finger food (wings, fries, pizza and burger) everything was up to par. I was taken aback initially, when I saw the burger was on an English Muffin, which I had never Salween before, but in actuality, it was pretty good. I'm also very big on onions, which I was provided a lot of, which was nicely placed on the side, not on the burger itself. I found this to be a nice touch. After dining, we went and sat by the bar area, to catch the game that was on. The bartenders were cool as well. The prices here are very reasonable and I'd definitely return here. A place with an interesting interior and pleasant staff. We got a table outside without waiting. I liked that even the street outbuildings are decorated with interesting details to look at. However, we didn't come to look at the walls, but to eat The first thing I noticed when I received my order was that the asparagus on my plate looked more like broccoli. Yes, it was broccoli. I think that if you're replacing a product, then you should tell about it before the person makes an order. It also felt like the fries were fried in old oil, and the coleslaw seemed to have been sitting around for a long time, waiting for its turn to see us. In general, the food was edible, but I can't say that it was very tasty, it was okay. At the same time, fortunately, the prices in this place are adequate and therefore I did not feel disappointed. If I paid more for such meal, I would get upset. I also tried house white wine. It was okay, I just didn't like the shade of a lipstick mark on my glass, I prefer something more light I told the waiter that my glass is dirty and he immediately brought me another one. I went here for my neices 30th birthday. I love the theme and decor, bartenders were great, quick, down to earth, savvy and accomodating. I tried the chicken tenders- delicious. Had a few aperol spritz- refreshing. This place is a lot bigger than it looks in the bar area when you enter. It goes on with a labarynth of rooms for eating at tables. Kids are welcome here. They play country music. I would like to go back sometime. Restrooms are down stairs. No elevator so be careful if you have trouble with stairs. Parking is a bit tough to find. read more

A Bay Ridge classic- and a great place to bring guests or meet people. This is where our family went for comfort food when we had a tough week - even if it was just one of us - or to celebrate. When we had an apartment full of Aussies crashing with us during one of the big hurricanes they took us to this cozy bar to toast coming through it with only a few leaks. It is reliably good. Their chicken pot pie is divine- I no longer eat meat but this would tempt me-- hey, it has a lot of delicious vegetables, too. All of their sandwiches are exactly what you would hope for. I was there a few days ago with five of my friends usually we end up going there once every two weeks but I do not know what it's been going on since after Christmas they were rated number one for the burgers. I don't know what they're doing now they look smaller than before, and now they put one slice of cheese instead of two I don't know what happened with the ribs. The ribs are not the same like they were the ribs and the burgers were outstanding. They change their product and shame on them. Also, my friends got pastas with the shrimp last month. The shrimps were nice size Yesterday they were like baby shrimp. I know some of you people write things but please just say the truth. I think they cut corners and there not what they used to be at all and it's a real damn shame. Stopped in for lunch yesterday after not being able to visit for years and very happy to say that nothing has changed. Same great food, same great service, same classic vibes inside. Glad to see that the only thing that has changed is more outdoor seating which is convenient. On my third foray into Skinflints I was left disappointed. (Three times you are out as the saying goes.) The servers were distracted and not interested in serving us. Too busy chatting to other servers. The food was dried up and un appetizing. This was similar to my initial visit, where I had to fight to get attention from distracted servers more interested in socializing amongst themselves. The interior decoration of the pub, and Irish theme left over from St. Patricks Day, was brilliant. Generally I feel the staff were not interested in serving. read more

The food does take a while during the weekend, so if you are very hungry and can't wait for your food. This isn't the place to go. It took about 40 minutes for the food to arrive and I brought my hungry toddler who whined a lot. I learn my mistake. The food portion is pretty big and worth it. I have not been here in years... but everytime im in Brooklyn and craving burgers, wings and ribs. This spot is a must. I recommend getting the cheddar burger over the american cheese burger. The ribs are fall off the bone 10/10 (Should always get the full rack to share with the group) Service was bad the time i went because they forgot an order; however the food made up for it. An All American Burger on an English Muffin. I went here one lonesome September night, and was surprised to find a popping bar and restaurant in sleepy Bay Ridge. It's become hard to find a good burger these days, but the people here really nailed it. Good color sear with the perfect medium rare texture. The burger came on a lightly toasted english muffin, lending a nuanced flavor to the package all while remaining perfectly crisp and firm. Lastly, though it was a crowded Friday night and me; a lone schlub who ordered just a burger was checked up on by the waitress, a simple but appreciated gesture considering the circumstances. Me and a friend of mine was looking for a quick local spot to have a drink and came across this hidden jewel. I found parking around the corner from the spot and walked over. When arrived we were greeted and told we can sit wherever we want so we sat on the bar stools table top. A very nice server/bartender named Jenn came over to serve us and I must say she is the sole reason I am giving this establishment a 5 star rating. She was awesome! We ordered or drinks, mine was a pinot nior and my friend had a beer and a surprise mixed drink which was good. We also had to order fries but I didn't indulge in but they looked good.
