Poor waiting service!!! I've been to Orange Grill many times, have celebrated family birthdays there, love this place, which is why tonight was so disappointing. After our appetizers were cleared and we ordered another bottle of water, no one came back to take our main course order for almost an hour. We sat with empty plates and no water for about 50 minutes and eventually had to go to the bar to ask for help. I understand it was a busy night, but instead of apologizing, the waiter smiled, blamed the crowd, and falsely claimed he came to our table and that we didn't want to order. By then, our appetizers were long digested and the mood completely ruined. We paid and left without ordering a main course or dessert, much earlier than we normally would. read more

This is our most favorite restaurant in Brooklyn. The food is the best here, the service is superb. This time we came to celebrate our wedding anniversary. And the owner and the manager, and young gentlemen who were helping us the whole night , Egor, Jay , and Alex made sure that we truly enjoyed our day. I can't praise enough the chef. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass, Giza sushi and Mango cheesecake for dessert. **Chilean Sea Bass - Cooked to perfection! Lightly crunchy, delicately seasoned, soft, succulent texture inside. The seasoning didn't take away from the exceptional buttery taste of the seabass itself. Paired with the most delicious vegetables consisting of peppers and squash grilled and marinated with... I'm guessing soy, teriyaki and an Asian wine to perfection. This was an exceptional dish! *Ginza Sushi - The presentation was very elegant, served on a piece of black slate, arranged in a straight line with the pieces of sushi turned diagonally, which exposed all the ingredients in this Ginza roll perfectly! Absolutely delicious with an delightful hint of heat, I was surprised! *Mango Cheesecake - A very fresh, very light yogurt type texture with an enticing amount of mango flavor. It was a refreshing alterative to the traditional cheesecake usually served in most restaurants! it was a great dessert to top off such a delicious meal! We dined in for my grandmother's birthday. The service was very attentive. Our table was already set when we arrived with lots of hors devours. There were too many dishes to recount them all. My favorite appetizer was the first mignon crostini. After the appetizers came short run with mashed potatoes which was one of my favorite items that we were served. Next, we were served some fried potatoes with mushrooms which were delicious. Following those were platters of grilled salmon and veal liver kebab. Then, we were served a huge meat platter with skirt steak, chicken kebab, pork shank, and rice. For dessert, we had ice cream, fruit, gelatin treats, and Napoleon cake. Orange Grill is great spot for celebrations and any occasions. The interior is very nice, modern and chic. We'd celebrated our birthdays at this place. The food was really delicious and dishes presentations were outstanding, the waiters were polite and professional, special thanks to manager Alexander and waiter Egor. Definitely will come back again! The only one down thing is the poor quality of the pictures taken by the photographer and the price. We didn't like the fact that the pictures were in the glass frames which is really waist of money since they will not fit to everybody's interior. Since getting all pictures in the glass frame will not be suitable for picture albums. And I don't think that every guest wants to put a frame with group picture on their dresser from every celebration. The frame should be an option, but not the way to increase the price of pictures. read more

I love this restaurant, everything is great from the amazing decor to the high quality of food. The live music is also great! The service is usually good too. I gave 4 stars only because our table was empty between courses of food where there should have been waiters serving us. My suggestion to everyone who will order banquet menu for a big party: make sure that waiters bring food so your table doesnt look empty. Also keep in mind that the portions of food are small. Came here for a friends birthday and this definitely one of the better russian party restaurants in Brooklyn. The food was amazing absolutely no complaints in that department. The dj was great as opposed to the singers who really could do better. The only thing that really ticked me off was the mandatory 3 dollar coat check. There was more than enough space to keep my jacket on my chair and as a frequent smoker it was really annoying having to wait for my jacket every time. read more

First off...We were demanded to take our coats off and put them in coat check; to get your coat back, it was $2. I didn't want to check my coat. We had to track down our waiter for everything...even place settings! But, we all noticed that their Russian patrons were having no problem whatsoever for attention. I have plenty of Russian friends, so I'm not being bitter, but telling the truth. We were very obviously being ignored. Very impressed with Orange Grill! The food, presentation,, service, and entertainment were all great! There was a massive amount of food at my sister in law's birthday party-sushi, foie gras, seafood, meats..everything. Everything was served in a beautiful manner. The servers were all attentive and quick! Many people have told me there isn't entertainment here and there's no real dance floor but there were singers and performers and there was plenty of room to shake your groove thang (if you want). I came here to celebrate a double birthday, I made the arrangements about one month in advance, and they took their time to explain and breakdown the banquet menus. I was interested in this place mostly because the menu is distinctly different than the typical Russian/Ukrainian style restaurant, but also because it is a smaller venue which offers a more intimate setting. When we came in our table was beautifully set up with appetizers ready to go. The huge dishes of sushi and other large plates were manhandled by the very capable servers. They were always available and knew when you wanted to something, and they expertly served each person with precision and manners. I couldn't ask for better service. This is what we paid for. On to the music: The DJ was pretty good, and took my request to play a song by Prince (When Dove's Cry) which really made my night after being subjected to unspeakably horrible, outdated and garishly loud live dance music. Around midnight, a pretty cool shirtless yoga type dude set up on the dance floor for some entertainment. He started by breaking 6-7 empty glass bottles onto a rug then proceeded to walk, lay down and roll around on it. There was a lot more he did, but I don't want to give away too much of his act. He was in excellent shape and was very serious about his art. I am unsure whether or not the bathroom story-telling audio was a joke or not. But there was a strange tale about a prince being told in the ladies bathroom. .. ?? It was pretty clean, though. Overall it was a pretty fun and hilarious evening. Went here to a kids birthday party with my wife. The place has modern decor and is welcoming. We were greeted at the door, welcomed with a smile and the coat attendant took our coats when we arrived. The food is creative and quite tasty. We particularly enjoyed the foie gras tangerine, it was creamy, complex and tangy. Another great appetizer was the crepes with mushrooms in a cream sauce. The entrees included roast, flaky white fish served with tasty rice and a light wine sauce. Then there was a service of grilled meats and kebabs that were soft, flavorful and prepared with care. The servers were very attentive to change plates after each course and made sure the drinks were always topped off. Whenever we needed napkins or a change of silverware they were glad to oblige. Thursday Evening time: 7pm Coming here for a friend's birthday dinner was the right choice. As well as appetizers and huge meals. In terms of décor the place was amazingly set, and very thoroughly cleaned. The bathroom did have two toilets next to each other which was creepy... But oh well. Our servers were super attention and accommodating. The only thing that we really had to wait for was the bill and the desserts. He even gave suggestions for food and liquor/cocktail pairing that would go well with the dishes. He also highlighting some interesting choices. Drinks: The meals were done so well and looked amazing. The espresso martini was served in a small martini cup and the taste was just as strong and as good, as my favorite place. If you like coffee, the wont skimp out on the liquor here. The lychee Rin, was also dazzling, champagne and lychee was an excellent choice, served in a champagne glass. For food: I got the salmon tarte that was raw salmon served on avocado slices, topped with yolk and red tobiko. The salmon and avocado paired really well, and tasted great. I wasn't a huge fan of the egg yolk on top but the tobiko, salmon and avocado on a small cracker tasted amazing. The sauce was drizzled on the plate. $15* The 2 in 1 spicy sushi, wasn't all that spicy. It did have only 6 pieces served with wasabi and pickled ginger. It was delicious, in the sense that the salmon, avocado and tobiko and the spicy taste could be felt with every single bite. The quality of the fish was amazing and displayed neatly. We also didn't have any bad after taste and of course there was more salmon in the roll. This roll cost about $12-14* The lobster ravioli I decided to make my entrée. The sauce was creamy and rich and each ravioli was stuffed with lobster. The inside did feel a bit dry, so the sauce was much appreciated to coat the lobster stuffing. I did sprinkly some black pepper on my dish, because after awhile the lobster stuffing and sauce got a bit too intoxicating. As in I got really tired of eating it. In came in a huge plate but small bowl. There were about 6-7 pieces of ravioli. In terms of the texture of the ravioli, it was perfectly boiled and served well with some oranges sauce around the plate. Cost: $14-16 (this is really cheap for lobster ravioli!!) My companions ordered the Skirt Steak, and they really enjoyed it with the mashed potato on the side. It also came with orange slices and some breadsticks. I would say this place is amazing in the image they like to present. The food was so perfectly displayed that it was instantly mouth watering. For the desserts, we ordered two different ones, the Crème Brulee and the Chocolate Molten Lava Cake. The crème Brulee tasted amazing because the bottom and top part, was burned with some type of alcohol that gave off a good taste. So if you like pudding with some infused liquor into it, this is your go to dessert. For the Chocolate Molten Lava Cake, the presentation was amazing, like everything else. For my friends birthday they even got a sparkler and we all sang happy birthday to her. The cake didn't taste as amazing. Pretty plain in comparison to the Crème brulee. It's like the cake was missing sugar or something else. It just tasted like a a healthier version of cake with less ingredients like sugar. I could still taste the flour and cocoa powder. When paired with the ice cream it did make the dish a tad bit easier to eat. Each dessert dish was topped with a strawberry and black berry. I thought the food presentation and décor of the place was very elegant and would give it a 5/5 for the way they presented themselves. Drinks I would also give a 5/5 because they didn't skimp out on the liquor, while also making it bearable. For food, I would rate this place a 4/5 because the dessert was a little off setting and the ravioli a bit. This place would be perfect for a birthday party or an event, even a romantic enough date night could be perfect here. If you are coming here on a date, or an event just remember the prices do look cheap, but after gratitude, tax and the drinks you'll probably end up spending up to $$$.
