Good spot to score a cold tasty frozen margarita. All kinds of flavors. Full bar here too. Some tables inside, some out front, and a side area with plenty of picnic tables. There's also a taco bar outside here too and another small frozen drink stand by the street. One of the better spots for frozen drinks if you can stumble upon it as it's hidden in an alley on the side of Luna Park. Oh, and the drinks are strong! Perfecto! read more

Coney Island is so hilarious. The juxtaposition of brightly colored rides and drugged out zombies walking the streets seems like something out of a horror movie. I had a large frozen Pina colada here which was delicious. read more

I was reluctant to try this place out. During the week happy hours are 11-1 and 4-6. The margaritas are 2 for 1 so I had the paasion fruit margarita and a classic and it did the job. I was shocked because located right in coney island i wasnt expecting to get such a strong drink. There's seating outside and in. Once the weather gets hotter I will return. I came in the fall, after the off-season had begun and the rides close down at 6pm and most of the boardwalk is shuttered and deserted. I had no idea Coney got so dead before Halloween so I was just roaming around before a show at Freak Bar. I heard impossibly loud music coming from what seemed to be desolate lots of closed businesses and locked up rides. It was all female sad pop songs: Adele, Lana Del Ray, etc. I followed it to find Margarita Island - one of the only businesses open, blasting this music to anyone wandering by. There were very few people there, but the bar wasn't empty. Bartenders were friendly but not overly chatty. Baseball on the TV, large space heaters sprinkled around (the bar has one open wall facing the ocean). No complaints about my Corona. I wouldn't make it a destination, but they're open! read more

Was adventuring around Brooklyn and I refuse to go to Toms Coney Island for a drink (it's terrible) so I yelped "frozen margaritas" and BOOM Margarita Island popped up!! It was around 9pm on a Saturday night when we came. There's two sides of the bar. Left side is a tiki bar area and the right side where we came in is a regular bar with wooden booths and a few tables. They have FISH BOWLS ($30) & a huge variety of frozen and regular margaritas. Of course I ordered a Miami Vice (they are available in small, medium, or large) I got a large for $15. It was delicious and was pretty strong. I was a little buzzed off of one. My friend got a small frozen mango margarita and it was super strong! They play reggae music which I loveeeeee. Great vibes. Everyone's chill. I just wish this place was on the boardwalk next to the ocean. It would be perfect. But what's better than Reggae music and frozen margs in BK?!! Will definitely be back. read more

I came in the place over the weekend and let me tell you !! The margaritas are so good. I had the frozen mango !! I also had regular frozen one. Too good , and definitely worth the 8.00. There were bigger cups for different prices but I will definitely be back. 3.5 Stars. We were drawn in by the fresh organic fruits they're were cracking open on the sidewalk and at the smaller tiki bar up front. Watermelons, coconuts and pineapples, oh my! $8 for coconut, $11 for pineapple and $12 for watermelon. Refills are half price and you can add a shot of rum to it at the bar inside! I think this concept on Coney Island is genius. It was a perfect treat on hot day! Both the guy cutting the fruit and what seemed like a manager I chatted with were both really nice! We sat down at the picnic tables under an umbrella outside. Refilled our our pineapple SEVERAL times and danced to the DJ spinning old school 90's dance hits. Songs I hadn't heard in forever! It was great! My little girls and I had a ball dancing. Hubs loved watch us get cray while drinking his beer. Yes, the music was loud. We loved it. Different music (rock and alternative) played inside. You can see the top of the Wonder Wheel from outside which I thought was kinda neat. We weren't there at night but they had light strands up ready to be lit. All sorts of people were hanging out....Bikini clad hunnies, older folks, newly 21 year old kids downing super sugary, calorie heavy drinks like Mermaid blue drinks, huge margaritas, electric lemonades etc. Dudes crushing basic beers like Coronas, waitresses dressed the way I hope my girls never want to, couples cuddling up, families. You name it. A spot for everyone. They serve food at the tiki bar outside. The kiddos had chips and guac for $7 they served in a to go container for easy beach travels. I did happen to see a sign on our table offering deep fried grilled cheese. Oh lord! So the bathroom IS gross. Super small and a wet floor. Yuck. It was July 4th so there was a ton of foot traffic in and out of the beach. Perhaps a pass for that? I dunno. I will commend them for having someone help keep the long lines moving to the unisex restrooms, making sure only patrons were using them. I should note that there were places to grab seats even on a holiday weekend. Hubs and I dig any bar we can bring our kiddos to! Just go ahead and call us "parents of the year". They have fun themed night like Hip Hop Thursdays, Industry Mondays etc. Divey? Yes. Totally. A place to duck out of the crowds and get your groove on while you grab a quick bite, some alcohol or in my case, some fresh fruit juice? Yes. P.S. Take note of the PYO (Protect Your Heart) art spray-painted on the ground by the entrance. Some people like to see how many of these they can grab a photo of. read more

I came here with 4 friends on a Friday night in July. The inside was dark but the outside was jumping with a DJ and outdoor bar. I ordered a drink from a pleasant, pretty modestly dressed bartender (name may have been Jen?). She went through their extensive beer selection and I decided on a Blue Moon bottle for a reasonable $5. The DJ was loud but we liked all the songs he played. It was crowded and the clientele was a bit young for my taste. We didn't really feel comfortable dancing, but that was our own demons. We could have danced. I may be back, it wasn't a bad place. Discovered this place on Yelp after looking for a much-needed drink after my 1 hour + subway ride from uptown Manhattan. This place is interesting to say the least, it is a bit run down and 'divey' but a fun scene and plenty of outdoor space to hang with friends. They advertise that they have live music in the evenings which would be fun to check out. I came here on a Saturday afternoon and they were running a 2 for 1 Margarita special which I was very happy to see. It came out to $16 before tip for 2 really large and VERY STRONG frozens plus the owner stopped by our table to give us vouchers for our next visit. I'll definitely come back on my next trip to Coney, great spot right outside Luna Park to go to before getting on some rides or heading towards the boardwalk / beach. read more

Came in with a party of 7 for some drinks after an amazing day at the beach and we're seated right away, then were greeted by a waitress with almost no menu or drink knowledge. Being a margarita bar it's essentially just pick a flavor you want with your tequila. We all had literally had 3 sips of our drinks and she comes back over and drops the check. We all were confused and not 2 minutes later comes back and asks if we're "all set" to pay. Mind you this is a group of people who can DRINK. Once we paid she never came to get the receipt but wouldn't check on us anymore. Felt very rushed in a dead restaurant and overall a really awful experience. Margarita Island is located on an alley right inside Luna Park. I only spotted this place when I was looking for it so its easy to miss considering how gentrified Coney Island has become. I had a jumbo margarita for $15 and my god this drink was strong! Passionfruit flavored so it was easy to wash down a burrito ( extremely delicious and made fresh to order)! Lots of variety of flavors and also will consider trying the margaritas on rocks because I got major brain freeze. Décor is tiki bar with two massive seating sections and the staff is very friendly. I believe after a certain time this place IDs because there was a bouncer. Overall great atmosphere and I got pretty buzzed so will definitely hit this place up for some margs. read more

So I came here with my cousins because I purchased a groupon for food and drinks. Upon entering I was taken aback because there weren't many people here and the ones that were were already drunk and it's only 8:30pm. Needless to say the drinks are good! Lol the groupon we had was for food and drinks but they changed chefs in the middle of the week so the manager Frank compromised with us and gave us extra drinks to replace the food!! Score!!! Now about the atmosphere... This place is NOT for kids. The music is loud and vulgar so it's more of a chill spot. They play hip hop pop everything. Its kool if you want to stop by for a drink. But I must admit this place is the epitome of "ratchet" lol and as I'm writing this a lady is changing her baby's pamper on the table where people will eat and drink... Came here around 3 p.m. during the week because I had purchased the groupon deal. The kitchen wasn't open, so they gave us another round of drinks. Margaritas are large and in charge. By in charge, I mean strong. Bartender was friendly and quick. Now, the patio. Mind you, it is around 3:20 p.m., the place is empty. There's a DJ (who was playing excellent music by the way), and two women and a baby sitting next to the DJ booth. The MUSIC IS SO LOUD I LITERALLY HAD TO YELL AT MY HUSBAND ACROSS THE TABLE. There's no one here, why play at a level that is deafening? How is this baby not screaming? It was too much for pre happy hour, we finished our drinks and left. I had a few friends that came to visit from Canada, there was some little one's with them so i went to Coney island thinking that we can get on a few rides. The rides weren't open played a few arcade games walked around for a while. Came up to Margarita island, over 70 different mixes. The day went even better very nice little get away. I been here a few times wit my friends. So imma write about each visit. First visit wasn't bad honestly. The guy gave us coupons for half off drinks. The margaritas was strong as hell but good but expensive ($14) in a plastic cup is crazy but I only paid $7 with the coupon. The music is on point! Its a mixture of everything honestly. The crowd is a mixture as well. Only down fall this visit was the bathroom lol. I like this place, I come here pretty often but last night I came in and there was this one bartender who may have been the nastiest person I've ever been served by, she was quite chubby and had long blonde hair. I'm not even saying I need to be served w a smile but with a decent amount of respect, she was clapping her hands as she was bitching at the other customers. I wasn't done with my drink and she threw it out, also pretty sure she ripped me off, on top of that she made me a really bad drink. She seriously made the other girl who was working at the bar look like a million bucks. Came here last night to see the infamous Miss Jennifer , and I have to say that I have mixed feelings about the place. It was kinda hard to find this place as it's not exactly on the boardwalk, it really hidden in one of the alleys. When I came in here, there was no entrance fee, no ID checks, no security guards, anyone was just free to walk in through through the bar or backyard. I can see some issues with that in terms of safety. The selection of drinks and margaritas were plenty in all flavors and sizes, two large frozen strawberry margaritas cost 24 dollars which is a great price because they were strong. You can also buy it by the pitcher too. The other flavors were mango, regular and other daiquiris or pina coladas. I was hearing complaints that the mango margarita wasn't tasty. They have a good selection of beers for 5-6 dollars, including coney island's own brewery. You can also get cocktails and mixed drinks for a decent price. The female bartenders were great at the beginning. The music and DJ's were great even before Miss Jennifer came on, it was a very laid back vibe but there were still some things that bothered me. The owner was definitely not sober, he seemed like a very friendly social guy talking to all the customers, but to openly say that you've been in party mode since the weekend began is not professional, but hey at least he has good taste in music. The food there sold in a hut in the backyard was mediocre and small in terms of portions. The three chicken tenders with fries for 7 bucks wasn't very filling since it was small pieces and it was lacking flavor, the chipotle mayo sauce it came with for dipping was super spicy and gross. The majority of the menu is Mexican, from burritos to flautas, tostones , guac and chips, etc. so to me it seemed very limited. There was only one line for the bathroom because the mens room was out of order, and one of the employees had to keep mopping the floor because there was a leak coming out of both bathrooms which can be dangerous because someone can slip and fall. A lot of the people in this one line were not even customers, since the manager wasn't paying attention nobody was able to even complain about it. The bathroom was also tiny and gross. At some point when we wanted to return to the bar at 8:00 for more drinks, but not a single bartender was there. They were roaming around smoking cigarettes and chatting. I think that's a problem because you can lose business for people that want to order more things. Overall, I would only come back here for the sake of entertainment and music appearance, but for a regular night out you can find plenty of more places on the boardwalk. read more

Went to Coney Island the other day and stopped here. Mainly it was because I needed to use the bathroom which was kind of gross. We ordered drinks since we wanted to and the sign on the door makes it clear that you need to be a customer to use the bathroom. I tried the sangria that said it had grand marnier, premium tequila and blend of fruits and juice I think. I don't remember the third part. I want to say wine, but idk bc from the taste of it; there wasn't much alcohol. I got a medium for $10. My friend got the pomegranate margarita which was strong and very sweet, a large for $14. I don't like frozen margaritas and I did not realize they had them on the rocks, because I thought they were all premade. We ended up leaving and going around the boardwalk and beach, but returned for happy hour. We got 2 for 1 drinks. We got larges for $14 altogether. You have to have the same size for both drinks. First round we got the sour apple margarita frozen and on the rocks. I actually really liked it. Tasted like a jolly rancher and alcohol which was good. Next my friend got a frozen strawberry margarita and I got a watermelon one on the rocks. I liked the watermelon one since it was sour and tangy rather than sweet. The drinks were pretty good. Perfect for a drink at Coney. It's packed when there is an event, but the bartenders are quick and efficient. It's in essence a club feel, but outside. I always get a frozen drink and wonder if there is any alcohol. Next time I am going to bring an airplane bottle of my own to dump in so I can feel some sort of buzz. read more

Best bar in Brooklyn! Can't wait for the bar to open up again! The atmosphere is lively and always a great time. The best frozen margaritas ever. Throughout the day people are always coming in and out. This summer they added a new edition called Famous Eddie's of Coney Island. It is located in the back of the bar. It's a food truck that sells pretty much everything from gum and snacks to ices to sausage and pepper sandwiches. The food is to die for. Monday and Wednesday nights are the best. Margarita Mondays has lots of great sales on margaritas beer and mixed drinks. the crowd is live and there is always a dj. the dj is usually nick scalici. he plays everything from old time songs like biggie and jarule and ashanti to drake to justin bieber to a boogie. great music. definitely recommend checking it out when it opens up again for the hot weather. my all time favorite bar and a great night out!!! read more
