I thought it was a small version of the Brooklyn mirage. There are two food trucks. One is outside of the event and another is inside the event. The best way to describe this place is like a giant warehouse with two large openings equivalent to probably to the size of a regular house wall. I was here end of December. Bring a jacket, gloves, the whole nine yards...it is cold. There is one very small space where the Djs play. I think the mirage is better in terms of space for the audience, a lot of more screens for visual effects, the dj space is better too. Mirage has two floors. Mirage also has better food. I think hands down, mirage is better. Come to the Brooklyn hangar only if you want to see a dj that isn't playing at the mirage.. I forgot to mention - I had standing VIP - that just means you have a space in front of everyone else that is closest to the dj. I think it wasn't worth it. If you do get VIP , get the VIP seating...not standing. With VIP seating you can actually sit with the DJs, which I thought was cool. read more

Came here with friends for Lunar Eclipse - KSHMR and had a great time! We had general admission tickets. Entry and security was quick at 12 midnight. Audio was great. They sell extremely marked drinks near the entrance when you first get in (all the way in back). Saw a show at The Brooklyn Hangar on Friday night. A perfectly fine spot to see a show if you are into the artist, but not a place to monitor for future events. Quality: The Brooklyn Hangar is a concert and event venue. I have passed by the location during the day and would have never guessed it was anything other than a warehouse. It is a decent size space, and worked well for a smaller show. It is in the middle of nowhere, so avoids problems with crowds and noise. The actual sound quality was fine, the open space is not ideal, but never was a real problem. Quantity: Only a few options behind the bar, most right out the can. Value: Ticket price depend on show. The drinks were in the $10-$14 range. Ambiance: The Brooklyn Hangar is located in the Industry City area of Brooklyn. It is a pretty large warehouse, which has played host to some big DJs. It is really one large room with high ceilings and an open door to the back. It was strange getting in because it was a bit of a maze navigating different floors. Either they don't have bathrooms or knew they did not have enough, so they brought in porta-potties for the event. A larger outside space with a little distance from the bathroom area would have have been nice for breaks from the show. Crowd: Not sure if they are still limiting capacity on shows or if it was a lesser draw, but I thought the crowd size was perfect. Never felt packed, but still a good time. Service: Security was quick, the bartenders were efficient, and the porta-potties remained decent during the show. CONS: The venue itself isn't located in the nicest part of Brooklyn, and is a bit of a walk from the closest subway station. Drinks are unreasonably expensive for the tiny plastic cups you get, $32+ for two rum and cokes. Because of how spacious the warehouse is, there's an inescapable cold draft and the sound quality gets lost depending on where you're standing. And instead of restrooms, they have a bunch of portapotties lined up outside. PROS: Some pretty big-name DJs are booked here, we came to see KSHMR and Blasterjaxx. They have a food truck parked outside. Their staff took care of my friend as soon as she started getting sick from drinking too much and sent her to the emergency room at the nearby NYU Langone Hospital. Honest employees held onto my jacket for safekeeping at Schimaski where I picked it up 4 days later, when other venues are known for stealing items left overnight at coat check. read more

Like it's other warehouse counterpart, Depot 52 (which also happens to be located on the same street if you just keep walking west past this place), the Brooklyn Hanger is pretty much on the outskirts of civilization. Highly recommended that an uber be split to get to and away from this place (the train back to Queens will take you an hour and a half, if everything runs smoothly). While it may not enjoy the amenities of your mainstream super clubs (looking at you Marquee and Space Ibiza... I'm seeing a lot of complaints about the lack of flush-able toilets), the rewards reaped, with respect to sound and lighting, at a warehouse such as this are extremely noticeable. First of all, because it's far, not glamorous, difficult to get to, etc... that may be enough to weed out the certain type of crowd that I don't particularly like (saw some broad sporting 6 inch stilettos and dudes with button ups and blazers... def not the place for that, and they didn't exactly last either). The lights and lasers are brighter, as this is a dark and closed off space... and the acoustics benefit from the set up and location as well (isolated warehouse equals a closed off space that allows for maximum sound bounciness... that's an industry term). More importantly, the crowd that came in was probably one of the friendliest and coolest group of strangers that I will likely never meet again. I guess it's because they come for the music they like, and not for the scene (believe me, it's painful watching live streams of performances at clubs... the crowds are so lame!). Give me a good artist, and I'd be happy to come here again (just get your permits in order, so you don't have the same fiasco that happened with Teksupport effing up the second night of Pryda's warehouse show at the Depot 52). read more

Came to see Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike. This venue is in the middle of nowhere. It is in the industrial area of Brooklyn which adds to its appeal. I can see how it would be very annoying to take public transportation but we took an uber so it solved that problem. Getting in was very simple. We had the vip tickets so the line was expedited. We went with the VIP tickets which was totally worth it. You get your own bathrooms and bar. The drinks are not cheap and they are small. A small plastic cup of vodka soda is $15. That being said the vip doesnt get too packed and it is a great viewing spot. We thoroughly enjoyed the show. The acoustics were great and the overall vibe was solid. Would definitely come to another show here. read more

Came here last night for Gareth Emery New Years Eve party. The location was pretty convenient to get to, if you drive or use cab. Uber was readily available near by. Venue seemed pretty big, but packed out given the event. I don't know the alcohol prices but water was $6 for a full sized water bottle. That's not bad at all considering that clubs like Cielo would charge $7 for a tiny bottle. Like mentioned in previous reviews, the back door was always open so there was circulation of air. My only draw back was the damn portapotties. The lines were insane. It was always raining, so it didn't add to the sanitary conditions. If you come here, make sure you bring wet wipes. read more

This establishment is honestly a rip off. I went to see isoxo and knock2, and didn't even stay to see them both. They oversold the show and we were packed in there like sardines. Honestly it was worse than that. It was so packed that when we weren't shoved against a wall we were being pushed outside in 30 degree weather unable to even see the stage. The other attendees were rude and disrespectful but I guess that's what you get for going to an 18+ event. Security didn't give a shit either. Then, after being forced outside, the entire tent space was COVERED in human vomit. The seats, the ground, everywhere. I tried to tell multiple staff and was ignored and brushed off. So now we can't go in to see the show, or even be in the venue at all because it's covered in bile. Awful experience. A waste of $140 tickets EACH, and so upsetting because I LOVE knock2 and he rarely comes to Brooklyn. Do yourself a favor and don't come here. Brooklyn hanger, do better. read more

Took the train from the city to get here (took around 45 min) but getting back to the city was more of a struggle since there was no express. The venue is really small but a part of it is located outside. There's like 3 bar areas so pretty easy to get drinks. Pricey drinks at 15 a pop for a mixed drink....this isn't even a nice venue like seriously. I came here for armin and am 110% sure they oversold the tickets. Once Armin came on it was beyond packed. I couldn't move like even 1/16 of an inch. It was IMPOSSIBLE! I've been to different edm venues in NYC and this is prob my least favorite. WAY TOO SMALL!!!! They're hosting dreamstate here and I'm unsure how they're going to fit everyone. I've been to dreamstate in SF and LA and this venue is like 1/4 size of those venues. I actually really liked this venue! Just a simple large warehouse with great air ventilation, at least for when we went for anjunabeats at the end of Jan 2016. It was pretty cold, and the entrance to the warehouse was wide open, so cool air flowed in the entire time. So much better than pier 94 in terms of both sound systems and space (Pier 94 had a super awkward layout with a bar stuck right in the middle of the crowds, and no ventilation/broken speakers) Didn't like how the stage was so low; why don't venues prop the artists up higher so everyone can see! :'( Maybe 15-20 port-a-potties outside. Coat Check is downstairs, wait is super long. It's a pretty far drive into brooklyn though (and in the middle of some pretty shady looking warehouses...)! read more

Really cool space in the middle of nowhere. Who doesn't love a warehouse party? And the space is pretty large considering! I think that's all I have to say that's nice.. Everything else about BK Hanger leaves me wanting. Seriously, invest in some plumbing because I shouldn't be forced to go outside in the Winter to use the toilet. And PLEASE if you're going the portapotty route, at least have enough stalls so that there isn't always a line! The bar is cash only which normally would be fine if the ATMs here weren't extremely overpriced. It's a $10 ATM fee. And the drinks are crazy overpriced! $17 for a VERY small drink. $12 for a beer?! Get out of here! The space is no-frills and over priced. Come with low-expectations for any sort of service (like coat-check, bathrooms, or fairly priced drinks) and you might have a decent time. I came here recently for Gareth Emery's NYE show and had a great time. The remote location meant that it wasn't packed to the brim, and overall had a much more laid back vibe than celebrations in Manhattan. Sound / lighting was also superb, although I believe artists bring in their own equipment so may vary here. Only downside was the line to get in / coat check went super slow and lack of security meant tons of people trying to cut the line. It would also be great if the bar took credit cards (maybe asking for too much now). read more

Was here for Octfest. On paper, the venue would've been great, but they had a ton of snags. First off, the sound was all messed up and way too loud. The basement was very, very warm and only some of the fans were running. And they didn't let you drink outside. I'm sure some of these things can be blamed on the organizers, but whatevs. read more

TLDR; There's no flush toilet, go at your own risk!! Came here for the Hiloween show with Oliver Heldens, organized by RPM. This review may not entirely reflect on the venue but it probably captures the experience. Pros: - Good sound and lighting system - Pretty cozy inside, no "coat check" though Cons: - Location in the middle of nowhere. I was surprised by the number of people who turned up. It took me 1.5 hour to get here from the city, the NR trains were all messed up because of late night and construction. - Port-a-porties (URGHH) - Very disorganized lines and security. There were two lines, one of which must be 21+ because they checked IDs and gave out bracelets. I didn't know that so I was in the other line. We got in and bought alcohol anyway - bartender didn't check for bracelet. - So expensive. Mixed drinks were $17 and a bottle of water was SIX dollars?!?! I mean if you were charging that much for drinks (at a shackled together bar no less), install some toilets for fck's sake. Probably will never waste my time and money here again. As far as warehouses for parties in Brooklyn this is one of the better ones. Not bad at all. The Pros: Got in really quick There was a lot of space They had good heat. Sounds dumb but it is wide open in the back so a lot of cold air could get in and it was ice cold out when i went. Drinks were super strong (that might be a negative because they were so strong I could barely drink them) The Cons: It is way far away, I mean really far. I know all warehouse parties are in the middle of no where but this was exceptionally out there. The sound system was kind of lacking. I seemed to get louder throughout the night but I didn't have to scream to talk to someone which is usually a signal that it isn't loud enough. read more

Woof. Mixed drinks are $16, beer is $10. They use crappy bottom shelf liquor, and I tell you this because the headache i had today was horrible. They tell you they take credit cards at the bar, but there's only one credit card machine in the entire place. so the bartender ringing you up, has to find the portable machine floating around somewhere, and then finish the transaction. The bartender I went to, didn't want to go find said portable machine, and asked me to use the ATM. Fine with me...LOL, the surcharge is 9.50. Yeah, I know. Coat check is $6 and in the basement of the venue which looks sketchy as hell. I didn't get to experience the sweltering heat because the show I went to was at the end of January. The warehouse was rather warm considering the gigantic door that's open in the back. I also don't do drugs, so the temperature was comfortable to me. I didn't get to experience the horrible outside bathroom situation, since I had VIP. Would I go back? Nah. I'm good. read more

This place has all the charms of Terminal 5 (inconvenient location, some old concrete warehouse, shitty sound) with the added bonus of dangerously uneven, lumpy, and somehow wobbly concrete floors, AND no indoor plumbing! Best warehouse rave in NYC! I came here for Gareth Emery's Electric For Life NYE bash and had the time of my life. The acoustics in this place are perfect. It's big but not so much that the sound travels or doesn't reverberate like at Pier 94. I have a few complaints, one being the lack of adequate of porta John's. There was like a 20 minute wait to use them and most of the ppl were already inside as I arrived an hour and a half late. Also it was hot as balls in there on a cold December evening. I would probably die of heat exhaustion if I came here in the warmer months. Ultimately I think your experience will vary depending on who produces the event. In this case RPM did a fantastic job. The lighting, sound, balloons, confetti and all the other accouterments were on point. read more

Went here for the Armin van Buuren show on 7/1/16. This place is really not great, especially on a summer night. Show was supposed to be half inside half outside, but due to impending thunderstorms had to be held totally inside. The security line was fast, although we got there pretty early, around 10 pm for a show that went until 430 am. However, in the wake of what has recently happened in the Orlando nightclub, security was pretty light. We got to the front of the line, walked past one guard who was patting down a patron, and then the next guard asked us if we had been checked yet. We could've easily said yes and smuggled in anything we wanted. Did not give me an easy feeling. There are a ton of disgusting Porta pottys outside in a courtyard like area, and a large outdoor bar as well. They were broadcasting the sounds of the concert inside as well. We made our way inside, and saw that the GA floor looked like a ton of people. We had VIP deck tickets though, which we did pay extra for, and went to the left staircase to the deck. We were told this was tables only, and were instructed to go to the right staircase on the other side of the hangar. We made our way up the staircase to the VIP deck, which was about half the size of the total platform on the right hand side. Table service was the front half of the platform near the stage, and we were on the back half. We had our own tiny bar, which was convenient, and were elevated over the main bar and crowd. We could've easily called over the railing down to the main bar as well to grab drinks, but the tiny bar at the back of our platform was good enough. Now, we grabbed drinks when we got in there, and wanted red bull vodkas to get the night going. However, they only had monster, not red bull, which we settled for. $76 before tip for four of them, seems about right for NYC. We started dancing and getting a little crazy, and all of a sudden realized, it's HOTTTTTT af in this place. We were completely, totally soaked in sweat by the time Armin came on at midnight. I sweated so much this night that even after taking a car service home with AC blasting I was still soaking wet by the time we walked into my apartment. He played from 12-230, and two of my buddies had enough by 2 and left. It was so crowded and oppressively hot, and this was even up on the VIP deck. There's no AC and no ventilation in here, I'd say it would have to be a max of 40 degrees outside for this to be an enjoyable experience. Second thing, the sound system is horrible. We were not that close to the stage, and I didn't think the music was that loud while we were there, but my ears rang for two days afterward. This place is old and needs some serious upgrading, or just needs to be condemned. By a certain time, we stopped drinking booze and had to chug waters as we were just non stop sweating. I can't imagine doing drugs in this place, you would definitely pass out. As soon as Armin finished and the next dj, Marlo, came on, they turned off all of the lights. Couldn't see anything at all, including the dj. I understand having a dark club vibe, but at least leave the stage highlighted so we can see the guy. Maybe they were trying to get people to leave, but this was at 3 am when the show wasn't over for another hour and a half. Even if your favorite dj is playing here, I would not recommend going at all. I went once and will never go back, no matter who it is. I've been to festivals and nightclubs all over, and this was by far the hottest, sweatiest one of them all. If you're debating bringing a friend or girlfriend or whoever here who doesn't love the main act, don't, they will be so miserable. You've been warned! read more

This place is not convenient in terms of mass transit. If you can drive, please do. On a normal basis there is plenty of street parking in the evening with an alternate side night restriction and even more parking towards the residential areas but during an event if you arrive late most of the spots will be taken. We had to walk about five blocks on the other side of the expressway to find a spot. They usually make events here an indoor/outdoor thing. There is no AC or ventilation so in the summer months the inside is a sauna. They did bring some lasers and nice lighting in for recent events but that's all based on the event organizer. For the most recent event I attended they oversold the venue and we were basically stuck outside the entire time and did not actually get a chance to enter the venue. The closest we could get was near the entrance. The back is uneven concrete and gravel which is just a twisted ankle waiting to happen. The sound was loud. Very loud, too loud, the good thing is there are mostly factories in the area and a lot of the sound travels out towards the water so you can't really hear it from a block or so away. In any case I was wearing earplug and I still got tinnitus. It lasted until the mid afternoon the next day. read more

It's a pretty decent sized venue (bigger than webster halls main stage) with high ceilings. But there isn't any central air, or any windows that I noticed. It was cool enough outside but it was hot yoga hot in there, you feel it the second you walk in. I would advise anyone not to over dress, and drink plenty of water before and during the show. read more

A good 10-15 minute walk to the R train. Like Pier 94, this place is basically what it's name implies. A warehouse. An open space with a roof over your head. This place sucks. Sound is horrific. Very cold near the entrance. Took 15-20 minutes in line to get a drink. Everybody is fighting for position. I saw Flosstradamus here and left 15 minutes after Flosstradamus came on. Could not hear vocals at all. Porta potties outside. $9 beers. Middle of nowhere. I read the other reviews here and still went to see for myself. The reviews were accurate...no reason to come here. read more

I actually loved this venue. I saw Borgore here last weekend. It was spacious so you weren't crammed like sardines and the sound was great. My only complaint is that water should not be 6$ anywhere, and that's how people get sick or injured- because they do not want to spend 40$ on water throughout a night. read more

Came for Aoki's Ignite New Years Day show and had a good time. Space was big enough to have room to move but once the show really got started it was more packed in the GA area but plenty of room in the back to get some breathing room by the bar. Cash only bar with mixed drinks $13 and up and beer $9. No indoor bathrooms, porta potties only. No coat check but they did have lockers you can rent for $15, kind of a rip off but I actually didn't mind this being that it gave me peace of mind to store whatever in there versus a coat check which I am weary of. Sound quality was good and lighting was decent, but Aoki is more of a showman so I didn't expect much from the lights and laser department. MY ISSUE WITH THIS PLACE: location! I get it, its a warehouse, they're supposed to be secluded and in a more remote location....HOWEVER, if you're going to have big headliners, it is not mass transit friendly at all. Coming from LI I would of had to take the train into penn and then 45 mins on 2 subways to get to Sunset Park and then 15 minute walk from there. Thankfully my friend drove and there was ample parking. I would attend this venue again as I'd much prefer to see DJs in this type of space than a club in NY but will always have to plan out my trip more detailed than normal. read more

I paid $50 for a ticket and waited in line for over an hour after doors had opened to see FKA Twigs. The repurposed-warehouse venue has no ventilation, no air conditioning, no fans, and no real bathrooms (just port-a-potties). It was like a greenhouse in there -- hot, musty, moist. Between the absurd number of people packed in the venue, the basic bitches taking pictures on their cell phones the entire time, and the one asshole with the tall hat, I couldn't see anything, at least until people started leaving en masse halfway through. To be fair, the intense physical discomfort made the experience feel like a hazy fever dream, which was fitting for a Twigs show. But I'm never going back. read more

The worst venue I have ever been to for a show of this caliber. Saw Armin van buuren there and it was so oversold security at times would not even let you inside. So you had to listen from outside on dirt and rocks big enough to trip or roll an ankle on which I did. Finally got inside to the main room that was over 100 degrees but you couldn't walk in it, too many sweaty bodies to move. So dam hot wanted to go splash some water on my face to cool off... sorry no running water for GA, only $6 bottles of it. Never again will I go to a show at this hot as hell hole. read more
