I'm not usually in Bushwick, but came here to celebrate a friend's birthday which ended up being such a great time! It's a fun neighborhood spot with dancing, a photobooth, food, and the best prices on drinks! Come before 9pm for their BOGO happy hour deal (you get a free drink card that you can use even after HH ends)! All the bartenders and employees are so friendly and efficient too. I love that it's a great space to dance but also not overbearing where you can't hear someone talk either. The food was also delicious and perfect after all the drinks you're having here. I've been coming to Keybar since it was in the east village, but love the vibe of their new location in bushwick just as much! It's a great stop before going out to a show, and just as much fun to come late at night when they have their own DJs performing. They have an awesome happy hour deal both early in the evening (until 9pm!!) and late at night - buy one drink and get a ticket for another. Awesome beer collection, fun shots and cocktails - you've gotta try the Rolo shot!! Bartenders are really cool/friendly, and make strong drinks. One of my girlfriends and I got together for drinks at this bar. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked into a dimly lit bar. We sat at the bar and was served by Anna and she was nice. We started with some martinis and I had the Porn star and it was good. My friend enjoyed her Paloma. We then had some pizzas and that Margarita Pizza was good. I also had the old fashioned which I liked. This place has really good deals for happy hr and also this nice they had karaoke! I went to Keybar on Friday, March 10th 2023 which was Keybar's 20th year anniversary. I usually go here to hang with friends afterwork. This time it was supposed to be extra special as my Birthday was a few days ago and I wanted to celebrate a bit more with friends. Let me mention I am a Black American with Caribbean and Hispanic background. The owner and his business partner created a PowerPoint slideshow to showcase the highlights of the business over the course of 20 years and there were three Caucasian men in BLACK FACE on the screen! I was so shocked, disappointed and outraged! I turned around to look at the owner and he was just standing there continuing to watch the PowerPoint with not an ounce of concern. There were a few Black or African Americans in the bar that night and took notice as well. The night ended up being the most horrific night ever after I witnessed this. I immediately paid my tab and left. This is the most disgusting incident that took place right in front of my eyes. Black Face is a deep rooted issue of racial hostility and a way to demean and dehumanize African Americans. The use or practice of it allows a society to routinely and historically imagine African Americans as not fully human and because of blackface's historic use to denigrate people of African descent, its considered racist! Let's have a real conversation... Do you know how it feels or what it takes to wake up and battle these micro aggressions on a daily basis at work, school or when going out to these dominantly white establishments? I am a human being and my race is not a crime nor should I be made to feel inferior because my race intimidates those who lack understanding of who we are as Black people. What a blessing to be in business for as long as they have been. I was so confused about the change of location when I googled it so I had to do some investigating to make sure it was the same place. For some reason I can never remember the name of the bar so I keep a very old drink card in my wallet. I met the owner while there. He was so sweet and friendly. They have my favorite pornstar martini on the menu. They even had food being sold in the back which was something new since they never had food at the old location. I love that it's bigger than the previous location too. Definitely coming back. Please keep doing what you're doing. I'm happy he was able to keep his business afloat through the pandemic. read more

TL;DR Amazing prices for drinks, no frills drink menu. Throwback disco-esque ambiance, wasn't kidding about it being like Budapest... transported right back. Drinks (4/5) - Pretty simple drinks menu, two sides - one sides' worth of cocktails, the other side was beers / ales and liquor. Ambiance (4/5) - Interior was a little grungy but was part of the charm. Loved the retro / neon / throwback decor. Everyone was young and super friendly. Service (4/5) - Bartender was really sweet, seemed like she was still training. Didn't pressure us to order and allowed us to stay for as long as we wanted. Although, I asked for the drink to be light on the Pimm's (a year of Covid has done a number on my tolerance) and it looked like 1.5 shots of it went into the glass anyway... hands down an amazing place for people that are not lightweights like me though! Price (5/5) - More than worth it in NYC, decently priced even without the Happy Hour discounts. Covid - Customary vaccine card check, tables are fairly spaced out inside. Some outdoor seating available but pretty close to the curb / trash collection. Staff are fairly respectful of distancing (as much as is possible) and masking. All in all, totally worth it for Happy Hour or just a chill hang out with friends. Should definitely make your list of East Village bars in a bar crawl! read more

They also have a menu of unique shots--worth checking out. The atmosphere was fun (we sat at the bar) and lively with good music playing. Comfy lounge-y sofas was an alternative to sitting at the small bar section. And then there was the photo booth. A nice addition to top off the fun. I FINALLY got to see the old school Yelp den of iniquity. With a Happy Hour that lasts to 10 pm (Holy crap! All night on Sundays & Mondays!!!), I can see why it's the HH Mecca. The HH buy one/get one drink tickets are the work of the Devil. It was my birthday month so Phil was determined to get me drunk. Every time I thought we were done, another drink ticket popped up! Oh my God... I had 11 out of the 13 HH shots (listed with the smileys) and the wickedly smooth Stroh Rum before I cried "You win! No mas!" The drink tickets don't expire, so you don't have to be a hero, just come back another day. I still pretended not to be "all that drunk". Yeah... the Facebook posts that I don't remember making belies that. But if I don't blackout, I consider it a success! Saturdays are lively but not jammed packed. The space is relatively small but there were still seats at the bar. I really wish I lived closer. This is a near perfect neighborhood bar. read more

Three words: Brain Damage Shot! Oh me gee. If you come here, be sure to get the brain damage shot. It is so ridiculously good! It's about $8 but you get a two for one drink card til 10pm so it's like getting two shots for the price of one. Other than this amazing shot, this place is just okay. First of all it tends to get crowded because of the amazing drink deals, and also it is a VERY tight space to begin with! There is not much room to do anything but find a corner to stand around. The music isn't that great in here either. Also it's pretty annoying how some people stand around at the bar like directly in front of it where there's no room for the bartender to see you so you can get a drink! Very annoying. You have to ask people to move over to make a little room for you or hope someone leaves the bar area. It also doesn't help that it's pretty dim in here. And you can definitely expect people to bump into you here constantly when it's crowded. There's no getting around that because of how small this place is. You can reserve VIP seating in the back if it's your birthday etc. I got a drink to start at $12 and got a free drink card of the same value. I had the lychee martini drink which I've had previously before at other locations and it did not taste the same here. It was actually pretty gross. No sweetness and kind of bitter. WOMP! Very happy at this point that I got the free drink card so I used it for a Polish Kiss drink which tasted like watered down Apple juice. I kid you not. Watered down apple juice my friends. Very disappointed. I don't know if it's because I was waving the free drink card in my hand and the bartender saw while I was making my order but it honestly tasted like cheap liquor. My friends said the same about the different drinks they ordered as well without me even mentioning what I thought about my watered down drink. Had it not been for the amazing brain damage shots, I'd give this place a 2. It's good for two or three people, but bringing more than that on a busy evening is not a good idea for this place. What more can you ask for? Happy hour until mother fucking 10PM! $6 drinks! Holy crap! 2 for 1 on everything, and you get a free drink card with every drink or shot. I think I must have had around ten of those cards in my pocket at one point. Kept drinking Espresso Van Gough shots all night along with mugs of Hofbrau. Great little selection of beers on tap - Hofbrau, Carlsberg, Guinness, and a few others. Lychee martinis were also being poured liberally. Holy drunken shit Batman! We had a crew of about 30 Yelpers here and it turned out to be nothing less then drunken debauchery and mayhem - they way it should be! By 9PM the DJ came on and was spinning 80's dance and new wave. My Las Vegas ho-cards I brought back were a hit among the ladies in our group ( bless every one of their sexy hearts ) and some even tried to use them as free drink cards. Sweeeet! Louis had reserved the tables and seating area for our group and the owner came by a few times to scoot away the riff raff to keep it real. Owner is a nice guy and he made sure we had a good time. We were so polluted at this point he could have served us urine water shots and we would still be partying hard! Yes, this place is small and I could have sworn I had quickie sex with a few of the patrons as I squeezed my way to the bathroom a few times. This place gets packed and with good reason. I was groped and squeezed by a few of the ladies on the way in and out of the bathrooms. Hey, I'm no saint so I won't say I did not enjoy it! This is the best happy hour ever. Drinks are 2 for 1 til 10pm. Every time you buy a drink, you get a voucher worth the price of the drink. You don't have to use the voucher the same day, and it never expires. EVER. Come before 10pm, load up on cards, and drink for the rest of the night. Decent selection of beer, but the shots are kind of obscure. The shots weren't bad. Their specialty, the Rolo tastes like melted chocolate ice cream, except you get that sensation after doing a shot of vodka. Stroh 80 (160 proof) is available, but not for their happy hour special. It'll mess you up good though. Only problem with this place is it's packed during happy hour, which doesn't surprise me at all. You can barely walk through to get to the bar. Luckily I managed to hold a spot down at the bar, once the bartender realized I'd be drinking A LOT in a very short amount of time. My Fiance and I decided to book a table for Keybar this past weekend to celebrate our engagement. I was able to reserve a table for us at no cost at all. However, the latest reservation they took was at 10 pm. We arrived a little past 10 but I was able to make my way over to the bar and let the bartender know we had arrived. She quickly set us up at our table. The place was small but people were in and out all night that my group of about 30+ people was able to fit. Unfortunately, we left early because the music was just not for us. Not sure if it was the DJ for the night or we were just at the wrong vibe of music for us.
