I'll keep this short but honest. Absolute worst burger I have ever had in my 44 years of life!!! I order the blue cheese burger with tater tots. The meat is a frozen patty and they used blue cheese dressing rather than the actual blue cheese crumble. The tater tots are hard as a rock. It's almost impossible to ruin a tater tot in the whole tater tot existence. I can't believe somebody actually works in a kitchen and produce this disaster of meal. We decided to order from this restaurant because of the great reviews. But I was sadly disappointed. The food arrived warm. I ordered the chicken BBQ nachos (sorry folks, don't like sour cream). The avocado was not a bright green, but ok, it was the evening & avocado does not like to be left out. The BBQ chicken was very good. BUT...I was halfway through my meal when I found a used diabetic test strip and lancet in my food. I was mortified! That is just disgusting. It is also a health and safety issue. My son immediately called The Gather Inn Again, had to leave his name and number. The owner did get back to him today. Unfortunately the owner #jaimedenardomicucci (Instragram name) was extremely rude. We also call Uber, though we know they only deliver and they were floored that such a thing even happened! And P.S. Uber called us back today to see how things were and inquired about any health issues. A shout out to Uber for being kind and considerate throughout this ordeal. Unlike the owner. Thank you Uber. I posted the same picture here on Instragram and the owners response was totally unacceptable. I was going to copy & paste her response, but then I thought better of it and screen shot her accusations and my response. She accused me of photoshopping the pic. And basically that I was lying. He immediately tested me for HIV (highly unlikely but better safe then sorry) and Hepatitis A, B & C (highly likely). I have to wait 6 weeks to see if any symptoms start to appear. So while she is accusing me of lying, I have wait 6 weeks to see if I am sick with something. So to sum up this drama.... A). I will NEVER order from this place again B). Came here on a Yelp recommendation in the Gerritsen Beach area and decided to come for brunch. Unfortunately we came on a Sat and they weren't serving brunch... BUT we were in luck! The bartender/waiter asked the chef if we would be able to order something from the brunch menu so we were able to get omelets and tater tots! OMGOSH those tater tots were amazing! and a HUGE portion! for $2! Best deal ever. I got a spinach mushroom omelet and the bf got a mushroom cheese omelet also very reasonably priced! Ordered through Uber eats and am absolutely disgusted. The "French dip sandwich" is boiled roast beef that I wouldn't even give to a dog to eat. The sliders came with cheese when they specifically ask if we would like to add cheese since they are not normally supposed to come with it. The onion rings look like they were cooked so many times they are almost black and taste like pure oil. The wings are dried out and burnt like chicken jerky and were bare wings instead of the buffalo wings we thought we were getting. read more

Ordered here a few times. Most of the time it was good but a few times it was horrible . A hit or miss. The blue cheese for the wings were runny watery. The fries were ice cold and greasy. Certain things were somewhat forgivable/tolerable if you like a place enough. But THE WORST thing was when I bit into a big SCREW embedded in my quesadilla. This is unforgivable and there is no excuse for something like this so dangerous to happen. I bit right down on this SCREW and my tooth crunched ; I was in so much pain. Thank god it wasn't worse. When I called the establishment the person apologized and I got refunded but they didn't sound at all as apologetic as I think they should have been . For this experience I will NEVER eat from here again and don't recommend anyone risking it due to dangerous inconsistencies. read more

Great local bar the kind you can hardly find any more. The food is top notch, last time I was there tried the chicken wings, potato croquettes. Local DJs, sports on the big screens and ice cold beer. Tonight they have spaten Octoberfest on tap which is a excellent seasonal addition. Plenty of outdoor seating facing the ball fields across the street. Just ordered in from grub hub. This was my 2nd order experience with them. The first time I got a soup and wings. The soup was so oily and wings were mostly fried shell and extremely greasy. Months later I figured let me give them another try with other items. I'm disgusted. The chilli cheese was $6.50 and container was barely half full. In addition to that there was puddles of oil that seeped through the container. I was impossible to have a spoonful without a mouthful of oil. It was so insanely spicy you couldn't taste anything, and there was no indication in description it was spicy. It gets worse.. I ordered veggie wrap and I am appalled. The description says house veggies. Granted that could be any variety. The sad part is this sorry excuse for a wrap had NOTHING but onions and green peppers. Not a piece of broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, nothing. Who on earth would ever order a wrap with raw green peppers and onions? They have some nerve to charge $9.50 for that. The tater tots on the side are the only decent thing I was able to eat. And they are mushy and flavorless, zero seasoning. Safe to say I'm done with this place. read more

Reminds me of an olde Irish Pub, good mixture of spirits, imported brews, and great domestic beer on tap in a bottle or can. The food is all fresh made and off the scale burgers with a side order of fries, tots or salad. I loved this bar; this was exactly what my friend and I had been looking for when we embarked upon our Gerritsen Beach adventure. Gerritsen Beach reminds me of Indiana in the best possible way-- except that there are docks along the water in lieu of refineries! Clearly this is a place where everyone knows everyone, people are friendly, and streets are ridiculously safe. My friend Ray and I wandered in after checking out the Veteran's Wall and Marine Park. We were so pleasantly greeted by the bartender, as well as all of the patrons at the bar. The place was decked out for Halloween, too-- which always warrants an extra star in my book. There were also seals hanging on the paneled wall for each of the armed services (yet another star... so really this review is up to seven stars). Immediately the bartender (a sweet, grandfatherly figure) approached our table and asked us what we wanted. Lickety split, and two frothy beers were placed in front of us... for the price of four dollars. (Amaaaaazing.) The menu was traditional American food, again in the best way. Tater tots! ("Napoleon, give me some of your tots!") Ray and I both ended up going for the steak sandwich... which was HUGE. I can eat and eat, but this sandwich defeated me. It's a shame that it did, because the steak was sliced ever so thinly, yet wasn't dry. It was juicy and dribbled down my chin (gross, yes, but candor is essential in Yelping!), complete, of course, with melted Velveeta. There were more tater tots on my plate than I think I ate in all of my years of preschool. Anyway, the people were all so extremely nice. They were all pals, but they made sure that we felt comfortable and welcomed. Came here for an engagement party and I was pleasantly surprised with this spot. They have a large bar area and also a separate private room for parties. The fried pickles, tater tots, and mozzarella sticks were great to munch on throughout the night. Our server, Danielle, was extremely nice and kept coming around to make sure everyone was okay. Let me start by this; I grew up in Gerritsen Beach. When I went to the Gather Inn growing up, it was definitely NOT this. Yay! Great food, new menu, owners who actually come to greet you is a new and much needed addition to the neighborhood. I come from NJ for the 50 cent wings and the tots. All the apps are amazing. The owner Jaime will go over and beyond to make your experience amazing. I threw my brother's surprise 40th there. The party went off perfectly because of Jaime. read more
